Chapter 13: Getting Closer

"Saniya, I have already told you that you can ask me anything you wish to know, I will answer your entire questions, madam."

"I came to know from your friend that you know many languages, but tell me where exactly do you belong to?" Saniya asked him.

He said, "Why? Do you have a doubt still? I have already told you about my birthplace."

"I just thought that a birthplace can be different from the native place" she explained.

He replied, "Sure I will tell you but try to guess it first..."

"I think you are from Haryana or Chandigarh may be, is that correct?" she asked.

"What makes you think so?" he wanted to know.

"It is because you have a tall, handsome physique and you are also fair and attractive" her answer was a compliment!

Arjun felt flattered, "Is it? I don't think so, dear. No one has ever told me this"

"O come-on don't lie, I'm sure many girls might have fallen in love with you," she said.

Arjun denied it humbly, "no one as yet, that's why I am still single. Not a single girl has ever appreciated me, you happen to be the first girl who has found me handsome and attractive."

"Arjun, now stop pulling my legs, you know well that you are quite rocking as compared other average guys." Saniya was determined about it but Arjun wouldn't accept the fact so easily. May be he wanted to hear more appreciation from her so continued to pretend innocent "Is it so?" he asked.

"Yes certainly Arjun, if I had asked the same question to any other fellow, he would boast of having so many affairs right from childhood age only, but your answer was not as I had expected. You are either hiding things from me or else you are simply kidding" she said, so and Arjun burst laughing.

"Arjun stop laughing and look at me, answer me seriously."

"If I look at you, I will laugh even more," he said, still laughing and she reacted, "Why? Do I appear like a joker to you?"

"No dear, how can you even think like that? Wait a minute let me finish up this beer."

Arjun finished his beer in one big sip and then another beer too very fast, in a few sips only. Saniya was still waiting to hear his reply and was getting impatient about it. To her dismay, he seemed to be giving more importance to beer rather than her!

"Why are you drinking so much?" she interrupted him.

Arjun sounded rough this time, "it's my beer and it's my wish, what's your problem?"

Saniya marked the change in his behaviour and thought of leaving for her hotel now. "I think you are heavily drunk now, so talking like this. It's better that I must leave now, let us meet again tomorrow."

Saniya got up to leave but Arjun suddenly grabbed her hand and pulled her close! He did not speak anything, only kept looking at her face very closely and then into her eyes. Saniya was getting drawn to him. She was also looking in his eyes now, and she lost control over her feelings.

"Arjun, why are you looking at me like this?" she whispered.

He touched her cheeks and said, "It is because you are so beautiful my dear; you have got such a lovely face. Anyone who looks at you can forget about all his worries and tensions; that is what I am doing now. Don't move, stay like this"

"Please stop" she urged him.

It was a full moon night, and they were getting pulled to each other. Arjun went on, "I see no difference between the charming moon and your glowing face! I won't deny that I am getting attracted to you."

"What happened to you? Please leave me, let us go from here" she tried her best to pull back, but her efforts were only superficial, she didn't mean to say it from her heart.

In fact, she wanted to stay like this with him for the whole night. How much she yearned for it, to be looking into his eyes, but she feared that this could disclose her true feelings, about which Arjun was not aware still.
