The first session with his test subjects had gone exactly as he had expected. Abe had ushered the anxious duo into the private sanctuary of his office at the appointed hour. They had been impressed to find all the unique equipment set up in one corner of the room. As per protocol, the first session in this experimental study was a matter of establishing the subjects' history and then reconfirming the existence of the mutation in the subjects' genes. the whole procedure did not take more than a little over an hour. Abe went about the routine task mind-numbingly and before long; the hour was up and the students were heading out of his office. He honestly didn't expect to find anything groundbreaking in these initial tests. He knew that the more strenuous work was still to come, but it wouldn't be any time soon. The baseline tests almost always produced results that showed minor deviations, which were overall insignificant.
