Ch.2

The day I walked in on Chloe and another kid I hadn't met yet making out in the torch, I knew what was happening next. After they broke apart I told them. "Don't mind me, I just have to finish my article on the school's apart lack of hygiene as the pool is only cleaned once a month."

Chloe's face scrunched up. "Ew."

I nodded. "My sentiments exactly."

I turned to the kid with the broken hands. "You know, I can have my people fix those if you want. Won't cost you anything either. Just think of it as a favor for a friend."

Chloe pointed out. "You don't even know him."

I chuckled. "It was a favor for you. After all, he can't exactly make you feel good with a handicap like that."

She blushed and I smiled and turned to the kid. "Name's Alexander Mikaelson. And it was a real legitimate offer."

He sighed. "Justin Gaines. And who are your people?"

I chuckled while Chloe answered. "He's the heir apparent of Heretic Industries. They rival LuthorCorp as the largest company in Metropolis."

I snorted. "Only if you're counting building size. Otherwise LuthorCorp is small fish now. My company just expanded into every country and major city on the planet. If it weren't for the fact that I refuse to make weapons, LuthorCorp wouldn't exist as I'd have bought them out."

I grabbed my phone and made a call. Half way through I asked Justin. "Yay or nay on the hand fix? It's mostly painless as they knock you out beforehand. It'll take maybe a weak for the nerve damage to be reversed. As for the rest, it'll be healed in a day tops."

He seemed relieved and happy. "Yes, definitely yes!"

I smiled and confirmed it on the phone before telling him. "Just show up at Heretic industries tomorrow morning around ten and give them my name. They'll have you fixed up in a week or so."

I patted him on the shoulder and removed his abilities before sitting back down and getting to work. When I finished with my article, I showed it to Chloe who saved it to tomorrow's torch print out. She herself was writing a paper on me about my offer to heal Justin's hands without even knowing his name first. She made it sound like I was some kind of saint.

I let it be as it wasn't really an issue. Clark came to speak with Chloe whole I was writing and the fax machine kicked on. I grabbed the paper before Justin could see it and when Chloe came in, he left to speak to his parents.

I handed her the paper saying. "You may want to slow down a little with him. I'm not saying stop by any means, but take it slow. It took me time to get to know Bonnie and Ayana before we ever became a thing. I suggest you take your time as well. It will last longer and be all the more real."

I left her to think on that while I went home to do farm work and hang out with Ryan. Every time I hung around him now I kept my thoughts on things that he should learn. He was already starting to pick up several languages while hanging around me.

Over the next week, Principal Kwan's son was arrested because of Chloe's article about the hit and run that made the news. Principal Kwan himself was dismissed by the school board. Their excuse was he couldn't even set a good example for his own kid, how was he supposed to set an example for anyone else's, let alone a school full of them.

Justin was already out of surgery and being healed in a med-bed when he got the news. He spewed threats and his severe anger issue was revealed. Luckily though, he didn't have his abilities anymore and when Chloe put two and two together, she dumped him. She found out from his own mouth what he did to the surgeon who worked on his hands before.

After he was healed, he was arrested by the police for admitting to the assault and attempted murder. Three weeks later a gas explosion caused some problems for one of the LuthorCorp properties in Smallville.

Lana was sent to the hospital and I showed up and found the key to the kryptonian spaceship. I left with it in the night as if I was never there. The next day a hazmat team was combing the site as I watched from afar. I shook my head when I saw Dr.Hamilton working with Lex.

I let things play out as Chloe was kidnapped by the cop in goggles. I turned my sites to something more important, the coming tornadoes and disasters beyond that. I made a necklace out of the key to the ship and wore it around.

A week later I heard Whitney was joining the marines from Lana. I told her about the money he got and she said he couldn't use it for college because it went to most of the medical bills. There wasn't any left over from it all.

I left it at that as it wasn't my place to fix everyone's problems. I may be a god, but I'm not their god. I took Bonnie and Ayana to the dance that Saturday evening and left my new necklace at the house. I was informed by Jarvis that The reporter stopped by and left with it in secret.

When the dance began, I asked to sing the first song and put the music in the bands head while making sure they didn't think on it. I began singing. "Well, I took a walk around the world to ease my troubled mind,

I left my body lying somewhere in the sands of time.

But I watched the world float to the dark side of the moon.

I feel there's nothing I can do, yeah.

I watched the world float to the dark side of the moon.

After all I knew, it had to be something to do with you.

I really don't mind what happens now and then.

As long as you'll be my friend at the end.

If I go crazy, then will you still call me Superman?

If I'm alive and well, will you be there and holding my hand?

I'll keep you by my side with my superhuman might.

Kryptonite.

You called me strong, you called me weak,

But still your secrets, I will keep.

You took for granted all the times, I never let you down.

You stumbled in and bumped your head,

If not for me then you'd be dead.

I picked you up and put you back on solid ground.

If I go crazy, then will you still call me Superman?

If I'm alive and well, will you be there and holding my hand?

I'll keep you by my side with my superhuman might,

Kryptonite.

If I go crazy, then will you still call me Superman?

If I'm alive and well, will you be there holding my hand?

I'll keep you by my side with my superhuman might,

Kryptonite, yeah.

If I go crazy, then will you still call me Superman?

If I'm alive and well, will you be there and holding my hand?

I'll keep you by my side with my superhuman might,

Kryptonite.

All around the world,

All around the world,

All around the world."

I received a round of applause from the students. "Thank you. That'll be my first, last and only public performance singing."

I hopped off stage and made the band forget the song and me before they started singing their own songs. I was dancing with Bonnie when Chloe and Clark came close while dancing together. Chloe asked from Clark's arms. "What brought that on?"

I shrugged. "Felt like it. Besides, Bonnie and Ayana promised extra special attention if I did it."

Bonnie was practically purring in my arms while she hummed the song. Ayana wasn't far away while doing the same. They both had a dangerous glint in their eyes that told me I was in for chains and spiked whips tonight. We continued to dance and switch off every now and then.

When the announcer was headed to the stage, Ayana and Bonnie were dancing together while kissing. I slowed him down and noticed Chloe and Clark about to kiss as well. When their lips met, the announcer made it to the stage and interrupted them with his tornado warning.

They broke apart and when Chloe turned her back to make a call, Clark booked it to save Lana. I left as well to add some Kryptonite to the soil where Johnathan and his reporter friend were. I headed home to find Bonnie and Ayana waiting for me there.

My house was mostly untouched by the tornadoes as it was even farther away from them than the Kent's house. Bonnie and Ayana spent the rest of the night and most of the next making sure I was properly rewarded.

We didn't stop until Clark showed up asking for help to form a search party to look for Johnathan. He couldn't exactly meet my eyes and kept blushing while asking. I agreed so long as Ryan stayed home because I didn't want him seeing any more dead bodies if I could help it.

Clark and Martha consented to my demands and we started looking for flashlights. Lex showed up to help us with the search. When we got to the woods, Lex and Clark went one way while I searched another. After a night of searching, I came up with squat intentionally while everything played out. While Clark found out Lex was working with the reporter that stole my necklace.

The next day when Clark found them eventually, I was searching a different area but keeping an eye out for when it started. When the reporter did his little speech, I triggered a collapse of the branches that held his car in place above him. The car crushed him to death instantly just before Lex could shoot him.

I came running over yelling. "Is everyone alright? I heard a crashing sound."

Johnathan was helping Clark up while saying. "The reporter that's working for Lex here just got crushed by his own car."

I turned to Lex. "Are you the one that told him to come to my house and steal from me?"

He shook his head and looked confused. "No! I was-"

Johnathan cut him off. "You were using him to investigate my family again!"

I sighed and called the cops to the site to get the body and report the incident. Bonnie found the key a great distance away in a corn field by the road where Lana's truck was. She brought it home for me while I was occupied with the cops.

I gave my report to the cops and drove the Kent's home. I spent all summer cleaning up and tending th he fields at my place and the Kent's. The herd had doubled in size over the summer and now I did need to use a bit of speed when no one was watching.

My people came in and cleaned up the disaster areas all over town and helped repair the homes. Ryan spent his summer with Clark since Chloe was in Metropolis. When school started up again and we became sophomores, I was forced to sit in biology class with no AC. Not that it could effect me if I wanted it not to, but it's the principal of the thing.

Bonnie and Ayana were giving the new teacher the stink eye and I avoided even looking at her for fear of their wrath. When Clark started a fire with his super hornyness, we left the class room while he put it out.

I ignored it all and spent the evening at the Talon. Jarvis did the chores in my absence. I spent the next few days at the Talon after school to be there when Lex showed up to try and invoke a buyout. When he did, and tried to hand the paperwork to Lana, I walked over and snatched it away. "In that case, I invoke article one dash three B. Congratulations Lex, you now pay the taxes on this place for the next three years."

I turned to Lana. "Congratulations on your very own coffee house. You are now the sole owner and proprietor."

She nodded and I turned to Lex. "I'll be contacting my lawyers immediately. You've just fucked yourself Lex, they'll tie up the money needed to insure the Talon's taxes stay payed for. Now get out before you say something that makes me want to ensure you end up homeless as well."

He gritted his teeth and left in a huff. I made the call then turned back to Lana. She asked. "Could you really do that? Make him homeless I mean?"

I cocked my head and sighed. "If I was willing to make a deal with his father? Yes, easily. But I'm not and I'd appreciate it if you don't tell him that. It's one of the nuclear options I save for a very rainy day when we may be at each other's throats again."

She nodded. "No problem. Just let me revel in the fact that I now own this place."

I chuckled. "Sure thing. It's a lot of responsibility so be careful. I can no longer interfere to save your business legally anymore. After I sign for the repairs, it'll be all on you."

She took a deep breath saying. "And just like that the reveling is over."

I smiled. "In that case I'll take three iced coffees with extra cream."

I signed the papers for the repairs and left with my coffee. I went home to start on my chores for the day while Bonnie and Ayana enjoyed coffee and each other while sending the sounds to my mind. It was a very trying day for me from then on.

Later that night Miss Desiree, the biology teacher, showed up at my house looking to get my attention. Bonnie drained her powers and Ayana tossed her back into Lex's house through a portal with no memories of her coming to my place.

When she lost her powers, her grip on Lex lost its power and he was left knowing she'd manipulated him. I personally never heard from her again, not that I tried looking at all.

I continued working the fields and going to school while events progressed. It was a honest and peaceful life that I didn't dislike. When Pete found the spaceship and Clark eventually revealed himself to him, I was there to see it. Not that either of them noticed me, nor was I hiding myself, they were just caught up in the bromance moment.

When they brought back the ship two days later and talking to each other In the storm cellar with his parents, I came down quietly. I got a good look at the ship before saying. "So this is what you'll were hiding. Here I thought Clark was meteor infected."

That spooked them all. They rounded on me and I held up my hands. "Relax, Clark isn't the first alien I've seen. After all-"

I blurred and appeared sitting on the ship now. I continued. "He's not even the only one in this room."

They were all gobsmacked now. Clark asked. "How?"

I smiled. "Aliens have been visiting this planet for longer than humanity has been around. I came down when you did Clark, or should I say, Kal-el."

I held out a hand and said. "I'd thought myself and my girlfriends were the only ones left."

Ryan spoke. "But I thought you were my brother?"

I sighed. "You read my mind and I let you go off of that because I thought you'd be a good successor to Heretic industries. If Clark here hadn't turned out to be a Kryptonian, I would have faked my death and left everything to you once you were old enough to take over the company."

He frowned. "But how can I read your mind then? I can't read Clark's."

I chuckled. "You can can't you? Try again."

I blocked him and he shook his head. "How can you do that?"

I chuckled. "It's a form of Kryptonian martial arts that deals with meditation and mind arts. I can temporarily open my mind to you and let you see what I want you to if I want to. Clark can do the same with practice I'm sure."

Clark spoke. "So I'm Kryptonian?"

I nodded. "From Krypton. Long story short, our planet blew up when some dumb asses made the core unstable. Not many made it out. Most Kryptonian's left are prisoners in the phantom zone. Basically a prison dimension. Those like you and me that were sent away mostly died because the planet blew as we were escaping. The meteorites are radioactive pieces of Krypton."

Johnathan asked. "And how do we know you're like Clark and aren't just fast?"

I smiled and looked as Clark. Fire shot from my eyes and burnt his shirt into a flaming smiley face. "If that's not enough, I can punch something or tell you what color underwear you're all wearing, though I'd rather not."

Martha asked. "Where's your spaceship?"

I sighed. "Destroyed. It like I think this one is, was infected by the radiation from the meteorites. Mine self destructed just inside the atmosphere along with Bonnie's and Ayana's. The AI's inside became corrupted by the radiation so we set them to go boom."

Clark spoke. "How did you survive then? At that age I know I wouldn't have survived."

I chuckled and pushed off the ground. I began floating. "In the light of the yellow sun, our people are not bound by the laws of nature. Even death can not hold us if we are determined enough. We ejected and once the sun touched us, our bodies charged up with the suns rays and we flew down. Granted we were still kids with no real idea of what to do next. Then these rich billionaires showed up and took us in. You're lucky on that part Clark, you found a real family to got to."

Bonnie spoke from the doorway. "The rest of us weren't so lucky. They wanted us to be their weapons so they could rule the world, or breeding stock to make an army."

I continued. "So when they took the trip with the Queen's, we ran away. I built Jarvis and he became my guardian while Bonnie and Ayana built their own parent bots. When I heard of our parents disappearance and possible death, I had Jarvis take over my parent's company and the other two companies were dissolved into mine."

Ayana spoke. "Instead of taking over the world, we refused to build weapons and instead made medicines and machines for healing. We made environmental machines to clean and heal the planet as well."

Martha asked. "Let me get this right, you three have been living on your own for how long?"

I chuckled. "Ever the mother figure. Since we arrived in Smallville."

I turned to Ryan. "Sorry kid, I didn't mean any harm by the brother bit. If it makes you feel any better, the company is still going to you once you get out of college. By then, I'll have done all I'm willing to do for the human race. I still refuse to give them weapons technology or be their weapon."

Ryan looked disappointed and I sighed before turning to Pete and asking. "Are you sure you want to remember all of this? I have a device that'll help you forget the past week surrounding Clark and the ship. You'll retain everything else."

He shook his head. "Nah, I'm good thanks."

I nodded. "In that case, I should be going, I only came to see where everyone was disappearing to. I have chores to do still."

Clark asked. "Why don't you use your abilities to get it done sooner?"

I shook my head. "Life isn't about the results Clark, it's about the journey. Besides, it's peaceful to me and it helps to clear my head."

I left them with Bonnie and Ayana, they could answer any questions anyone would ask. I continued doing my chores. After I finished, I altered the minds of those that were still alive to think the council agreed to let Jor-el do his project in secret with their DNA and he sent us to earth with Clark. Clark was the only natural born, but we were the council members children.

I altered the Kryptonian DNA in us to match the council members as well to be sure. I even changed what Brainiac would remember when he arrived. Even he would remember us as Kryptonian's. Kara, who was in the damn Atwater right now was altered as well. It took some time to do it all and alter Joe-el's AI for the fortress of solitude to remember us as well.

Bonnie altered the AI in Clark's ship as well. Now we were finally free to be our selves a little around Clark and the rest. Clark came over and helped me put the tools away asking. "So what was it like on Krypton?"

I shrugged. "Don't remember. The only reason we know what we do was because of our ships training programs. We spent a lot of time in them and once our minds developed enough to handle the information, we were woken up from stasis to learn in intervals. The reason I'm so sure your pod is corrupted is because it didn't wake you up."

He sighed. "So what does that make us? Brothers?"

I snorted. "Not a chance. Myself and the girls are children of the high council, Your the child of the high council's scientist. Your dads name is Jor-el. My biological fathers name is Lor-em. Ayana's mother is Ro-Zar and Bonnie's mother is actually your mothers twin, Tess Lor-Von. In human terms that makes her your cousin I think, though they weren't very close so I don't know. Her father was a sapphire guard of no real rank in our society. Mine and Ayana's other parents as well."

He asked a few questions and wanted to ask more but I stopped him. "Stop asking Clark. I'm not looking to return to Krypton's glory days. Our people were in civil war and killing each other off. I'd rather not become your personal library of a dead race. Our people failed and our ways died with them. Leave it be. None of what you want to know is pretty and the rest I haven't a clue as I've never actually met others of our people. I just know they're locked away for damned good reasons. Murders and world destroyers the lot of them."

He went quite then asked. "Then what will you tell me? Something about our powers at least?"

I chuckled and walked into his barn. "Ok, but you asked for it."

I took a deep breath and blew at him. He froze solid and I stopped. He could get out of it himself so I watched him for a minute. His sculpture shook and broke as ice fell everywhere. He stood there staring at me.

He frowned and I laughed my ass off. "Take a deep breath. We have powerful lungs Clark. Once you've sucked in all you can take, blow like you're blowing up a balloon. Focus the air in one direction."

He followed my instructions and blew at me. I froze solid next and I vibrates my body to shatter the ice. I heard clapping and turned to see Pete in the doorway. "Damn Clark, that's some powerful lungs you got."

I chuckled and had to agree. "He's right. You got it first try."

I kicked off the ground saying. "Now you try."

He repeated my actions and fell on his ass. I came down laughing. "Maybe flying isn't your strong suit. Try hearing then. Close your eyes and turn up the volume like on a stereo. Eventually, you'll be able to focus and tune everything out but what you want to find. Once you can do that, you'll be able to hear everything across the world at once with practice and flying."

Clark looked stunned. "Wait, you can hear everything on the planet?"

I nodded. "If I want to, sure. Though I mostly tune it out. Why do you think I started making medical supplies and equipment. We couldn't take hearing everyone cry out in pain and do nothing and we feared revealing ourselves."

Pete spoke up. "So you could here me when that crazy ass doctor kidnapped me?"

I shook my head. "I tune out everything not in my immediate vicinity or I inevitably pick up a lot more than I intend to. Besides, I didn't know you were taken. I've been busy on the farm all day."

That stopped that line of questioning in its tracks. Pete went another way next. "So which one of you is stronger?"

I turned to Clark and held out a hand. "Care to test it?"

He smiled and took my hand. We squeezed and I kept my strength at his level. When he was about to stop, I made a face and put in a little more effort. His face changed to one of pain and I let go. "It looks like it's my win. Don't worry, once you've fully charged, you'll be as strong as I am."

He asked. "How do I fully charge?"

I chuckled. "Buy some UV lamps. It'll heal you right up in a jiffy in case of emergencies as well. Sleep under it each night and after a few years you'll be as strong as me and the girls."

Pete asked. "Speaking of which, is it a Kryptonian thing to have more than one woman?"

I shook my head. "No it's our thing I guess. When everything was hell for us, we stuck together and became close. I wouldn't suggest trying to flirt with them. You needn't fear me, they're stronger than I am, and if you have seen the love marks on me, you know they're very territorial."

He paled and Clark chuckled. "Stay away from the girls, got it."

I chuckled. "So, what's next for you? I know your parents aren't happy right now and I'm not about to put myself in their care."

He shrugged. "I don't know. You're responsible, more so than me anyway."

I snorted. "I'm careful because we fear being taken to be lab experiments. Our adopted parents were very vocal that we were lucky that didn't dissect us."

He winced and I nodded. "Now that I'm free, I'll never let another person rule my life like that, I'd rather be dead."

We walked back to the house where the Kent's were and Jarvis was standing there. I told him. "Jarvis, show them."

His form turned to liquid metal then back and they were true believers now. I spoke. "His only priority is to raise me and take care of the company until I'm ready to take over officially. He has only self defense protocols. He has no other sentient thoughts other than his objectives if your worried about the morals of it. Once I don't need him, he'll turn into base elements and be used as fertilizer or something. He's a machine, nothing more or less."

Martha spoke. "That doesn't make me feel any better."

I shrugged. "I'm not Clark, I won't be raised by any more humans. Your people tend to abuse us for amusement and I won't subject Bonnie, Ayana or myself to such things."

Martha spoke. "But we'd never-"

I waved her off. "You're. Already raising two kids and I'm almost to maturity now, there's no point. Besides, we've lasted this long without trouble. It's only a few years till college and we'll be out of sight and mind. You won't win this argument."

Johnathan sighed. "He's right honey, we wouldn't have even known about them if he hadn't revealed himself."

I sighed. "We can look after ourselves. If it helps, we live nearby anyway so you can stop by and check on us if it makes you feel better."

She smiled and agreed. I went home with the girls and Jarvis. A few weeks later I went to pick up my class ring and when I saw it was red Kryptonite, I left school early and checked my stock at the company. I found nearly twenty pounds of the red missing. The rest was untouched so I put all but a little of each in the vault before scanning all my employees for the answer.

I found the perpetrator after the first search. It was a guard that wanted to line his pockets with some extra cash. I confronted him with a security team and fired him on the spot. I activated the theft clause in his contract and sued him for all he was worth. My lawyers took care of that while I went back to Smallville.

I got there to late as Clark was already on red Kryptonite. I sighed and ignored it while Bonnie made a notice me not charm on him, so he'd ignore our presence. Martha came over that night asking about Clark and what would cause it.

I sighed and told her. "It's probably the class ring. Last week a guard at Heretic industries stole some red Kryptonite, meteor rock if it helps, and he was caught and fired last night. I've been contacting the ring manufacturer to buy them and force a recall. I didn't know he bought one. It's like giving our kind heroin and ecstasy mixed with a bottle of alcohol. He'll say and do things on a whim and experience rapid shifts in emotions. I'd suggest you use a green rock and break the ring off him. I wouldn't suggest asking him to take it off, it'd be like asking a heroin addict to give up their only stash. I can't participate for obvious reasons. The last thing we need is two Kryptonian's on red rock running around."

She nodded and left as soon as I finished talking. The next day everything went as it would have without us except they didn't ask for the ring when he left, they tried and failed to pull the green on him before he fled.

They caught up to him in the field and broke it off of him. I kept out of their business for a couple months as it didn't interest me and I wasn't about to be a crutch for them. I quit the torch to free up some time as well.

Other than choirs and occasionally giving Clark tips on how to use his powers, I spent my time at the Talon or on dates with the girls. I finally started paying attention to the Kent's again when Clark told me Ryan had started to get nose bleed.

I met them at their house that afternoon after a serious amount of calls. When I saw him, I used X-ray vision to see inside his head. When I saw the tumor was still growing even without all the extra chemicals summerholt would have put into him, I cursed out loud in a string of words that left everyone else blushing.

Rubbing my temples, I told him. "The doctors at Heretic industries will try their damndest to save you. It seems your mind reading comes from a tumor in your brain. It's growing and I haven't a clue how to save you on this planet. If we were on Krypton I'd have the medical staff there fix you up, but here, the technology is to primitive. I've been having trouble making the technology to make the technology we'd need to fix you."

Martha started crying and the rest looked heartbroken. Ayana and Bonnie were bouncing off ideas to try and save him, but for all our power and abilities, it wasn't possible. We could literally raise the dead and kill gods, but we couldn't heal cancer with our powers.

I stopped pacing when Ayana had a stray thought, I turned to her and kissed her. Thinking (you're a genius.) I looked at the group saying. "Bring Ryan to the Heretic industries in Metropolis tomorrow evening. If humans can't build Kryptonian technology effectively, maybe three Kryptonian's can build it. Just don't mention it to any Kryptonian's you may meet in the future because giving less advanced worlds technology they can't make themselves is one of those big laws that would see us locked away in the phantom zone for eternity."

Clark nodded. "Yeah sure, just hurry."

We blurred and disappeared to their eyes as we ran to Metropolis. We went to the labs and I started materializing metals and things we'd need from the vault. It took us all night to build a workable full powered healing glove with the upgrades needed to break up tumors.

The Kent's arrived around nine and I rolled out a cart with a potentia hooked up as its power source as there wasn't any naquadah in this reality. Clark looked at the potentia and asked. "What's that?"

I smiled. "It's a solar battery of a sort that can put out enough power to destroy half the state of used wrongly. Basically, it's something you could theoretically charge yourself with in emergencies. The problem is this is highly forbidden even on krypton as it's also one of the reasons our sun was changed."

I held up a glove that was hooked to the potentia power station by wires. "This is a glove that could, in theory heal any wound and revive the recently dead so long as their head and heart were intact. Aka the thing that would see everyone that knows about it sent to the phantom zone by our laws."

Johnathan asked. "What would you get for the battery?"

Bonnie snorted. "Immediate death sentence to be carried out by the first Kryptonian aware of it. It's one of the main reasons for the civil war that destroyed our planet. The knowledge to make it was forbidden by twenty galaxies. The other eight lead their own war against the rest for the right to use them as it was their main power source. If word got out that any of us knew how to make them, earth would be the next stage of a galactic war."

Clark asked. "Then how did you know how to make them if they're so forbidden?"

I chuckled. "We're the genetic children of the high council for our entire race, it was given to us the moment the council knew Krypton was doomed. I'm sure you'll learn how to make them in time as well."

I pulled out a small turtle shell like thing and handed it to Martha. "This is a personal shield. It has a ten thousand year life expectancy unless under constant use. I figured given your condition, I might as well make it for you since I'm already a dead man if anyone finds out about what we're doing here today. Just think you're safe and it'll turn off. To turn it on, just attach it to your clothes and the ink you're in danger. Once activated, you'd be able to withstand a direct hit from a meteor and come out without a scratch on you."

I held up the glove for Ryan to see saying. "Are you ready kid?"

He nodded and I powered it up. I brought it over his head and began taking apart his tumor and turning it into nutrients for the body to break down. The process would have put him in unimaginable pain if I hadn't numbed his body to the pain. It was over after three hours of meticulous healing.

When I stopped, I set down the glove while giving Ryan the natural ability to read minds. "It's done. His cancer is no more. I've did a full body scan and I've gotten every single cancerous cell in his body."

I handed the glove to Bonnie saying. "Toss the potentia in the sun, the rest of it melt and destroy. Leave not traces."

She took off with it and Ryan sat up saying. "I can still hear people's thoughts."

I frowned and shrugged. "It's not the tumor's fault then. It must be a natural human evolution in you or a meteor affliction. I can't cure those though, so you're stuck with it."

He nodded slowly. "I can hear a lot more and it's clearer than before."

I sighed. "Then learn to shut it out like Clark is learning to."

I got up and told him. "One day you'll be leading this company as it leads the human race into a new age of technology beyond what it has now. Until then, stay in school."

We stayed long enough for the doctors to do a scan and give the all clear before heading home. Everything went back to being routine until one evening in shop class, we were told to present our final project to be graded. I handed over a Roman gladius with its tapered edge for safety.

It's unique design gave the teacher pause. He asked. "What's the design on it?"

I smiled. "It's runic engravings meant to word off evil and give protection to the user. On the other side is the Roman insignia meaning it belongs to a general. You see, the romans believed in many gods, but they favored the god of war, Mars. So when I was making this, I thought of a Roman script I'd once read that asked Mars for protection and strength in battle and to word off traitors meaning harm outside of it. This is the result. I tapered off the edge of course, for safety, as I can't go making functional swords in school."

He nodded with a smile. "It's both unique and has significant meaning. The effort you put into it must've been immense, especially with all the detailed work."

I shrugged. "It was worth the effort, as all good things are."

He nodded. "Well that effort just got you a perfect score."

I smiled. "Thanks sir."

Clark was next as he showed his Smallville .S. he made. He passed but not very well. Pete was after him with a candle holder. When the teacher moved on to the kid with a letter opener and mentally tore into him, I walked over as the teacher left and patted him on shoulder. "Better luck next time, Ian. Hey, if you need help next time just ask man."

He nodded solemnly. "Thanks man, but I think I'm going to talk to him about raising it."

I nodded. "Good luck."

I went back to my station to clean up as the bell rang for our next class. Later that day I saw him heading back into the shop class and I sighed before walking away. I'm not a hero and I'm no longer in the save everyone business. People die whether I'm there or not, it's a fact of life. I do what I can with medical technology but otherwise, I'll leave to Clark unless asked.

The next day I saw both Ian's kissing Lana and Chloe. On two separate occasions. Bonnie told Lana while Ayana told Chloe and each asked if they were trying to make it work like us. With a profuse and resounding no, they asked if Clark set them up to ask.

They each said they hadn't spoken to Clark all week, which was true. Both girls frowned at that and we left them to think on it. Eventually they were both kidnapped after the shop class was set on fire. I waited and after Clark ran back to the top of the dam after saving Chloe, I waited for the twin to fall.

When he did, I caught him and drained the ability out of him. He dissolved into a puddle of goo that was washed away. I locked the ability away for further study and went about my day.

A couple weeks later I was in talks with a Native American tribal leader about the land I purchased that they wanted. I sat down with him and his granddaughter and they asked what I wanted for the land itself to be returned to them.

I chuckled. "Nothing."

The leader appeared to get angry and I held up a hand. "You misunderstand me. I don't want anything for the land because I bought it to preserve it as a historic landmark. Your people can move back into the land if you want, but other than a survey of the markings and cave paintings and a preservation team to go over it, I don't want anything from it at all. I'd give it back to you but then Luthorcorp would pressure you and your people into selling it to them. This way it's all payed for and Luthorcorp doesn't try to pave it over into a strip mall or some crap."

The old chief asked. "And what makes you so sure Luthercorp wouldn't try it anyway?"

I snorted. "What's mine stays mine. Not even Lionel Luther himself would dare war with me without being damn sure he can win. And even then, he's be in for a bloody battle as both our businesses took a hit. No, so long as I own the land, he won't fight over it with me. Lex would try if it was just about money or one upping me, but since I've already filed it with the historical society to have it preserved, he wouldn't waste the effort either. On the plus side, it'll be protected by state and federal laws. On the down side, once the caves are preserved, it'll be open to the public to study. The land above though is yours to use as you see fit though. I'd suggest you charge big for parking and admittance onto the property. Say, fifty dollars a vehicle."

The old chief nodded and the girl asked. "What do you get out of it?"

I smiled and told Jarvis. "Close the door and wait outside."

He left to do so and I turned back to my two guests. "I preserve a peace of my family history. You see, many thousands of years ago, a distant relative came to this planet and fell in love with an ancestor of your people. Together they had children and he was eventually forced to leave, but he took one of his kids with him-"

I shifted into my wolf form then back and put on some clothes before continuing. "My family was unique even on our home planet. I inherited all the strengths of both people. The skinwalkers and the Kryptonian race."

I shot fire from my eyes and burnt a Kryptonian symbol into the wooden table. The chief spoke. "Naman!"

I shook my head. "No, sorry. I'm not Naman, nor am I Sageeth. Just consider me a distant relative and invested in keeping the caves and land safe. As for Naman, he is already on this planet as well. Though he goes by Clark Kent. His name to my people is Kal-el."

I waved a hand at the papers on the desk. "My land is your land. I'll protect it with this worlds laws and you live on it and be safe."

The girl asked. "Do you know who Sageeth is?"

I shook my head. "No, and it isn't your battle to fight either. Leave it be little wolf."

She went wide eyed and I smiled. "I can smell it on you is all."

A minute later Bonnie and Ayana walked in and joined us while I introduced them as my mates. Later that day Clark fell through the roof of the cave onto his back while they were showing us the cave paintings. His landing opened up the hidden entrance and Kyla ran over to help him.

I clapped. "I give it a nine for for fall, and a two for the landing. I figured you'd have learned to at least float by now Clark."

The chief was stunned by my words until Kyla whispered. "Naman."

I chuckled. "By your stories yes, meet Clark Kent. "

Pete yelled down and I grabbed Clark's hand, helping him up. "Clark, meet the chief of the Kawatche tribe and his granddaughter. They have a story about our people on these walls. I think I'd like it if you and Pete didn't race dirt bikes over the area Incase of another cave in. I don't think Pete would survive a fall like that."

He nodded. "Alright, so why are you telling them about us?"

I shrugged. "They already knew about our people. I just told them about us in particular because they won't tell anyone or do anything to harm us. I trust them with our secrets because they share secrets of their own. Besides, I'm related to them. And that's all I'll say on the matter."

I turned to the chief. "I'll leave the escorting of the preservation team to you and your people. Anyone that comes after, you can charge for it. Though I'd like it if you let Clark come here any time he wants. After all, your cave paintings are about him."

He nodded. "I don't see anything wrong with that. What should I tell Luthercorp if they show up?"

I shrugged. "Until the preservation team gives the ok, you can tell them to fuck off for all I care. If they step a foot on the land, feel free to fire a warning shot before shooting them in the asses. Once the preservation is complete though, you'll have to let them into the cave area. Charge them steeply though. I say about a grand per Luthercorp employee and five for a Luthor themselves sounds about right."

He smiled. "In that case, I'll tell my people they can set up a concession stand to charge more."

I nodded. "Do as you feel like, just no killing please. Anything short of that I can get you out of. Just one last thing."

I took a deep breath and blew into the crevice where the Kryptonian bugs were, freezing the nest solid before shoving my hand into the wall and pulling all of them out. They fell onto the ground and shattered like glass along with the nest. "Nasty creatures. They burrow into humans and make them suicidal. That should be the last of them."

I checked the wall with my X-Ray vision before burning the shattered nest of dead bugs with my heat vision. "There, now there's no trace left of them."

I turned to Kyla. "I'm sorry, but you'll find you aren't the right one I'm afraid. His destiny is written in the stars. Yours is more down to earth."

She frowned and looked hurt but I sighed and walked away before she could comment. I sped home and made the announcement for the findings and preservation public knowledge. Jarvis took the lead on it and the Luthor's were caught by surprise.

Lex showed up at my house the next day asking about it and I pointed him to the door. "You screwed yourself out of any business deals I'd have ever made with you when you tried to pull a buy out of the Talon. The caves may be a public place, but the land belongs to me so if you want on it, pay those in my employ for entrance to them. Even then, you'll have to wait until they're finished being preserved. Now leave, before I have you removed by force. Tell your father the same. If you two want to got up to bat over some cave paintings, be aware I can buy Luthorcorp outright and some other company can take over the weapons industry."

He grunted. "I don't know if you're aware but I'm no longer-"

I I waved a hand. "I'm aware of every move you and your father make. You may be running Lexcorp now, but I'm fairly certain the moment you can prove incompetence on your fathers part, you'll try for a power grab. I don't care about your family squabbles Lex, the moment you tried to screw me and Lana with the Talon, you lost all faith I had in you."

He bit out. "I was drugged. That bitch was using some kind of hypnotic suggestion drugs to get me to be her lap dog."

I snorted. "I doubt you're incompetent enough to let someone get close enough to you to do that."

He looked ashamed by my words and I sighed. "Unless you were."

He bit out. "It doesn't matter, it won't happen again! Give me another chance to earn back that trust and I'll make sure it's not misplaced."

I nodded slowly. "Very well. I'll pay back all the loans you had those employers of yours take out and invest a hundred million in The factory. There's a two hundred and fifty million contract coming up soon from the government funding. Secure it and I'll consider further investments and possibly other joint ventures."

He nodded and stood up. "I can do that."

I sighed. "Lex, this is your last chance. Your third strike as it were. Screw this up and I'll cut all ties with you and your company. I'll write it off as a bad investment any you won't be coming here again for another chance."

I wrote a check and Jarvis signed it before handing it to Lex. "Don't screw with me Lex."

He left and I told Jarvis to pay back all loans at the Smallville savings and loans. He went to do just that while I went to the fields to clear my head and lay out piping to water the crops.

I kept out of the shape changer business and started wearing my necklace again. When I got word that Lex failed to secure the contract, I called him up. "You've failed, why?"

He was furious. "My father bugged my office-"

I grunted. "Then you really aren't ready for the big leagues Lex. Consider this the last of any business we'll have now or in the future. Goodbye Lex, don't come asking for me again."

I hung up and shit went down at his house. I heard he lost his temper and broke his office apart looking for bugs. I was only asked for help a couple days later when Martha and Lionel were being held hostage. I flew Clark to the roof of the building and left him there to handle things.

I watched him burn the files Lionel was keeping and Martha's heroic rescue of Clark from the refined meteor rocks. Later that night at the Kent's Clark asked me over to find out how Lionel got ahold of so much refined meteor rock.

I pointed out that I'd bought all that the people had and dug up what was on the land I bought, but I couldn't get at the Luthorcorp land that has meteor rocks on them. I told him it was one of the drawbacks of business.

You have to make compromises. "Once Lionel saw what I was doing, he started digging up his own lands in search of them for himself. I couldn't legally stop him and I can't take them myself, as you well know. Damned if I do and damned if I don't."

He sighed. "I just wish-"

I nodded and cut him off. "Me too."

A week later I heard Lionel was shot by Johnathan and I threw my lawyers at it like a pack of ravenous dogs. With the money I was paying them and the fame they were getting from all the winning cases, they were very willing to please. Within an hour Johnathan was let out and I had a special investigator tear apart the case within the next.

He found proof of Johnathan's innocence and the guilt of the sheriff and bartender before lunchtime. The sheriff lost his badge and joined the bartender in jail by dinner. My lawyers were preening themselves while excepting the payment. The special investigator was put on permanent retainer as well. He called himself Jason Bard.

A month of peace followed before Lucas Luthor rolled into town with Lex. When he did, I had Jarvis secretly pass on a file to Lex about when and for how long Lionel has known about his second son being alive.

As I was no longer on good terms with Lex himself, Lucas eventually found his way to me at the Talon one evening saying he'd given Lex the boot and wanted to sell me his shares. I chuckled at the offer. "I'm sure Lionel would be heartbroken if he found out you wanted to sell them to me. How much?"

He squinted. "A hundred million."

I looked at him with a grin. "I'll have to get the paperwork drawn up."

He tossed a file on the table. "Done, all you need is to sign."

I sat up and picked up the paperwork. I looked it over for any legal loopholes or round about methods. When I spotted none, I checked it with power and still found it clean. Since he had already signed it I sighed. "Alright, you've got my attention now. Why is it you need the money? Is it because your dear old dad and brother are snakes or because of the Chinese gangsters who are hunting for you?"

I signed it while he answered. "I know if I stay to long either one of them will try to screw me over and as for the gangsters, I need a favor. I want a safe place to hide out for awhile to let that heat die down."

I nodded and turned to Jarvis. "Take him to the airport and tell our private plane pilot to take him anywhere in the world he wishes to go, even to the safe place."

Lucas asked. "What's the safe place?"

I smiled. "It's a private island with only one airstrip and a reef surrounding it preventing anyone from coming without you knowing about it. It has an armored speed boat for escape and a mapped out extraction protocol that'll get you out in a moments notice. The house is more like a mansion and a Olympic swimming pool. The only ones on the island are the staff that take care of everything. They're all hired Heretic iindustries employees with weapons training for your defense only. They won't even acknowledge you're there unless you're under immediate threat."

He nodded. "I'll take it. Pleasure doing business with you."

I sighed while he left. I texted Lex after I turned in the paperwork and sent the money to Lucas's account. My lawyers made sure it was legitimate and filed it away. I now own ten percent of LuthorCorp. Lex met me at the talon two hours later.

When he sat down, I told him. "Your brother payed me a visit a couple hours ago. He sold me his stock in LuthorCorp."

Lex looked calm and cool. "I take it you want something in return for them? Otherwise why would you have called me here?"

I nodded. "I don't do weapons and I'm beating LuthorCorp in every other industry. The stock is worthless in my hands, but in yours, it could be the key to your rise to power as it were."

He sighed. "What is it you want from me?"

I sat back. "I want five minutes in your mansion unsupervised by anything or one. Simple as that. You should know, I could get that time easily from your dad if I wanted to."

He chuckled. "Is that all? I'd have given you the mansion for it."

I shook my head. "I don't want the old thing. Personally I think it's gaudy and just something your father did because he was bored. No, five minutes is all I want, then you can have the stock and the castle for all I care."

He agreed and we left to meet Lionel and tell him the news. When Lex told him my conditions Lionel scoffed. "I'd have given you the damn thing."

I chuckled. "Like father like son. Difference is, I know the character of both of you, I'd rather deal with Lex right now, thanks."

They went outside and I pulled out a pen trigger. I pressed it and all the cameras and microphones in the room died. I went over to the fireplace and took the orb of Kandor out of its hiding place before putting everything else back the way it was. I stored the orb in my vault then sat down.

After five minutes, they both came back in to see me sitting in the office chair with a board look. I told them. "Yep, still don't see what it is that interests the Luthor's about this chair. No special buttons or levers. You don't even have a trap door with piranhas in a tank below."

Lionel snorted and I signed the paperwork or transfer to Lex. "It's yours, this place is boring. At least I have bulls and horses at the ranch."

He signed it with a smile. "Always a pleasure Alex."

I waved a hand. "Yeah yeah, by the way, I may have broken all the listening devices hidden in this room with a small localized EMP, sorry. You might want to get those replaced. Lord knows there was enough of them to spy on a small country."

I left them speechless as I walked out the door. That evening Jarvis told me Martha stopped by and my necklace was missing again! What is wrong with these klepto humans? Anyway, since they were going that route, I let it be as the key was Clark's anyway.

When she came down with the sickness two weeks later, Clark brought the ship over to my place and stored it in my barn. I ignored it and worked the fields like usual. The CDC asked me a few questions when they saw me working the fields. I told them I hadn't seen her or any of the Kent's as I tend the fields alone.

They left me alone to continue my work after bagging a few stalks of corn for testing. When Clark and Ryan got sick as well and Johnathan was told about the baby and Martha's eventual death, he came to me. "Can you fix this? Can you heal them like you did with Ryan?"

I shook my head. "I don't have the time to rebuild another glove and power cell before they're dead. But there may be a way-"

Johnathan pleaded. "What? What way? I'll do anything!"

I nodded. "We'd need to activate the ship near them. It should be able to heal them. Though I'll have to deactivate it afterwards as it's AI is corrupted by the meteor rocks. I had the key on a necklace but a couple weeks ago your wife stopped by while I was away and took it."

Johnathan nodded. "The CDC found it in a flour tin in the storm cellar."

I grunted. "Great. I'll take care of the key, you load up Clark, Ryan and the ship in a truck and take it to the hospital."

I pushed off the ground and broke the the sound barrier while flying away. I flew at mock five to the CDC lockup. I made myself invisible and landed on the roof. I teleported to the key and took it before teleporting to my barn where Johnathan was loading the ship. I picked it up and set it in the truck.

I sighed. "Get in and drive, I've got the key."

He drove while I just teleported to the hospital. When he arrived, the parking lot was empty. I threw the tarp off the ship and held the key up, activating it. The ship lit up like a beacon and illuminated the parking lot and hospital. When it stopped, I took the key out and we left.

Clark and Ryan were feeling better immediately. I told Jonathan. "The doctors just said she's fine, take the ship home and tell your wife that she can just ask next time she wants something."

I blurred and ran to my place. The next week was hectic but there was one good thing that happened. All the cave paintings were well documented and sprayed down with a preservative that's supposed to keep them intact. The caves were now officially open to the public and the first customers to pay the tribe above to park were a boat load of LuthorCorp and LexCorp employees.

Right now father and son were neck and neck. Neither could triumph in their company struggle. Lionel still had majority rights, but Lex had enough stock to severely wound the company and allow other companies the chance to swoop in and cause problems, so they were at an impasse.

They were paying the tribes parking prices with gritted teeth while regular people were paying twenty bucks for parking. Lionel of course, made a few veiled threats as I walked out and heard him. "Is that so?"

He looked caught in between a rock and a hard place. He muttered a backhanded apology to the Kawatche tribesman before stalking off into the cave to take a look. Lex brought a scientist with him that he heard Clark mention once or twice.

I ignored them and told the tribesman. "All outsiders but Clark are to be out of here by sundown, if they don't leave, feel free to get creative, just no fatalities."

They nodded and the LuthorCorp scientists that heard me paled. Lex's scientist spoke up. "I'm a leading-"

I pointed at him and said to the tribesman. "Except this one, I'm sure he would make good meat."

The Kawatche people laughed and stood guard at the entrance and some inside as well. Lex told his scientists. "He doesn't care about your credentials doctor. I wouldn't press further as I haven't a clue if he was joking."

Kyla walked over just behind the scientist and Lex. "Neither are we, but if he's right, we may find out come sundown."

The scientist paled and muttered. "I can't work like this."

I turned to Lex who asked me. "Is there a way to extend our stays to overnight visits without violent reactions?"

I chuckled. "You're talking to the wrong person. You see, I have the tribe as my new employees, full control of these lands. They protect and guard the cave and in return they can live on the land and charge whoever, whatever they want for parking and entrance fees. It's up to the tribal leaders if you can stay overnight or not."

I turned to Kyla and motioned for her to go get the chief. She took off at a run and I turned to Lex. "Excuse me, I have to make an appointment with the chief. I'll ask that you be given the chance to state your case before I leave. They'll let you know."

He frowned. "Even you are making appointments with the chief?"

I chuckled. "I'm still a kid Lex. The chief is a busy man and runs the tribe, settling disputes. I feel obligated to be at least cordial with someone as fair and just as that."

I left and met the chief in the woods where Kyla was bringing him through. I told him. "If you decide to let any company stay over night, I suggest you charge them fifty grand for a week and have them continue to pay for parking each day. This is where you can have concession stands if they get hungry or thirsty. Perhaps a fifty dollar pillow for over night sleep as well."

He chuckled. "I understand."

I nodded. "I'd double the price for Lionel Luthor and his people if I were you. They've got more access to funds. By the way, Lex wants an appointment with the venerable chief. Make him sweat if you want. Though see him some time today. Lionel you can wait for him to ask himself."

I left them laughing by the tree line and went to the farm to do chores. Over the next couple of weeks the tribe made a lot of money. One day the key started ringing and I took it off. Clark showed up asking for the it. I tossed it to him and told him to keep it.

Two days later he came back and told me about meeting Virgil Swann and the message.

I shrugged. "Not hard to believe. Our ships were traveling as fast as any message could without portal travel."

He asked. "Portal travel?"

I smiled. "Wormholes. Nearly instantaneous travel. Like teleportation but for long range travels instead of ground to ship or ship to ship."

He looked confused and I chuckled. "I'll tell you another time. Anyway, what can I do for you today?"

He took a deep breath. "Dr.Virgil wants to meet you and the other two."

I shook my head. "Not interested.we stay away from the public as much as possible and I don't know or trust him. Clark, tell me you didn't give him our names."

He shook his head. "I just told him there were a few others that came down with me is all."

I sighed. "Alright then. If you meet Swann again, you don't reveal who we are for it?"

He nodded and asked. "What about the Kawatche people? You told them."

I nodded. "They a secret of their own and it would be mutual destruction if they revealed our secret. I know very little about Dr.Swann or his secrets."

He frowned. "What is the Kawatche tribes secret?"

I sighed. "Thousands of years ago a distant relative of mine came to earth and fell in love with a woman of their tribe. They had kids and when he was forced to leave he took one with him. The Kawatche people were later born from the rest of those children. The children gained an ability to turn themselves into wolves."

His frown deepened. "Does that mean-"

I nodded. "That I can turn into a wolf? Yes. The child that was brought back to Krypton took on the added trait and passed it down. Some centuries later, the families of the high council members found out and studied the genetic trait. They found a way to give it to a line of guardians later called the sapphire guard. My mother's line hails directly from the child while Ayana and Bonnie's Father's were sapphire guards that were altered with the one extra trait."

I shifted in front of him and he backed up. "Wow, that's a big wolf!"

I snorted and shifted back, blurring to grab clothes. "The Kawatche people's blood was diluted by other human bloodlines, so their wolf forms are much smaller. I smelled it on Kyla when we first met. It's how I knew I could trust her and her people."

He nodded. "So what other powers do you have?"

I chuckled. "Just the Kryptonian package for the most part. Strength, speed and instincts are all enhanced to the peak of a Kryptonian's, while my senses are sharper than yours will ever be. Other than that, you can do everything I can except fly for some reason. It's almost like you're afraid of heights."

He blushed and rubbed the back of his head. "Anyway, is there any other abilities you haven't shown me?"

I frowned now in contemplation. "Not that I'm aware of. Just practice with your senses to do different things and let me know if you find something I'm not aware of or haven't thought about yet."

He left after saying goodbye and went home not long after our chat. The next day I got word that the scientist Lex brought to the caves was found unconscious with white eyes in the cave. Lex had him brought to a specialist when he heard. I chuckled and thanked my luck that I made all those that went into the cave sign a waver for any harm they may come across inside.

A couple weeks later when a kid that thinks he's an alien started his crap, I told Clark I was staying out of it as he wasn't Kryptonian. Clark asked how I knew and I snorted. "Use your X-Ray vision. You can see his bones aren't as dense as ours."

He squinted at me before doing the same to the other kid. When he stopped I pointed out. "That doesn't mean that he's human though. There are twenty eight known habitable galaxies out there that have many planets that support life. He could just be from one of them. Either way, not my problem."

Clark asked. "How can you say that?"

I shrugged. "Easily. If he wanted my help, he'd ask for it. I'm not saying you shouldn't help him Clark, but don't drag me into it unless you have to. And then, just yell my name and I'll come running to help."

He nodded. "Alright, I guess you're right. I'll ask him if he needs help. You know he healed Lana's horse?"

I shrugged. "He could have been meteor infected with the ability to heal. If he isn't an alien, see if he wants a job at Heretic industries helping to heal the world."

He nodded again and left to speak to Chloe. Last I heard about it, the kid in question was sent to a mental institution. I sent my lawyers to make a deal with him to get him out in exchange for accepting a job offer at my company.

He was skeptical until my lawyers explained that I didn't want him for his healing abilities but for his technological skills. He'd be given a private tutelage and training till he was able to help at the labs. A week later Heretic industries launched two hundred satellites world wide. Most were kept secret as they were smaller deep space telemetry probes, while twenty were announced as the largest one time satellite launch ever.

Those twenty were strictly research satellites that were meant to test out a free cellular network I was going to give to the world. I spent quite a penny buying Dr.Virgils old satellites up as well so I could repurpose them.

Over the next week I stayed at the Talon when I wasn't doing chores or with the girls. I spent my time on my laptop reprogramming the satellites I'd bought from the Swann foundation. When a group of douchebags tried to rape Lana, my computer camera was active with audio.

I walked over and subdued the first one non-violently while pulling out my phone to call the police. When I did so, the other two attacked. I dropped my phone and laid them out with a punch to the jaw each before asking Lana to grab my phone and call the police as I was still subduing the first potential rapist.

She did so and a couple minutes later the sheriff showed up. She said she'd take it from there and tried to put handcuffs on me, I chuckled and let her, telling Lana. "Grab my laptop and call Jarvis with my phone, I'll be out in an hour and I'll have my lawyers burry these guys in lawsuits if you want."

Clark grabbed my laptop and Lana made the call. Jarvis met us at the station with it and the two who got ahold of him. The sheriff gave me some no better than everyone else speech that I ignored. My lawyers showed up ten minutes after Jarvis with an injunction and so many lawsuits it would take the sheriff a week to go through it all.

They also had an appointment with judge Ross for both cases before the hour was up. All three would be rapists claimed personal injuries but that got screwed for them once they lay in the hospital bed for a scan. They were each warned off claiming any of that and when the judge saw the video of everything that went down, even the sheriff was in deep shit.

My lawyers turned on her but I stopped them saying. "She May be incompetent and have a large chip on her shoulder with something to prove, but I'm sure her hearts in the right place. Lea it it be so long as I'm let go."

The judge spoke up. "That's easy enough as I can't agree with her demands to hold you with this evidence brought to light. You're free to go."

I was un-cuffed and on my way out I heard the judge giving the new sheriff a stern warning. I told my lawyers that followed me. "Call Jason and have him do a deep dig on the three would be rapists. Chances are they've done it before since they were that confident. Stall the case until he's done then sue them for all they're worth and make sure they're well known as rapists and pedophiles in prison."

I went to change and inform Lana of the changes before her case was called up. I sat with her and Clark explaining my plan and when she consented, she asked. "Can you teach me to defend myself like you did?"

I shrugged. "Sure, but I should warn you, it takes dedication to get anywhere with martial arts. You'll end up a lot more bruised that what you experienced today."

She shook her head. "Trust me, I'm dedicated."

I chuckled. "Very well, we'll start after school tomorrow. For now, go along with the plan and in a few days, those guys will be charged with a hell of a lot more than one case of assault and attempted rape."

She left with my lawyers when the case was called and Clark went to watch. I was stalled by the sheriff that came out and asked for a word. She tried to apologize and I waved it off. "Sheriff, you're elected to represent the people's laws of this town and carry them out. That means you have to carry yourself with a higher set of standards than everyone else. I don't want your half hearted apologizes, I want you to do better next time, because the next guy may not have high powered lawyers to get him out of a mess like today. You could very well send an innocent man to jail."

I left her staring at me like a fish out of water while I joined Clark in the courtroom seats. My lawyers called for a few days to gather more evidence after they res Howe's the video saying. "As confident as they seem, odds are they've done this many times before and gotten away with it. We would like the chance to find those other victims and give them a voice as well. If your honor allows this, we intend to have the case ready by the weekend."

Judge Ross watched the tape one more time while the court appointed lawyer for the defendants looked nervous and the college kids looked terrified. The judge agreed and gave them no bail as this was a very heinous crime.

I spent the week after school teaching Lana and Chloe, who showed up with her, various martial forms. When I wasn't teaching them, Bonnie and Ayana were. By Friday Jason was finished gathering the evidence and nearly thirty willing woman that wanted to testify. I read their minds of what they recalled and shifted out the liars and the victims of others. In the end, fifteen woman were asked to testify.

Bonnie and Ayana boosted their moral with a comforting spell. They each gave a deposition and were brought to court with Lana to testify. It was the case of the century for Judge Ross, she was able to charge them all with enough crimes to put them away for life.

Lana sued them for damages both physical and mental along with every woman in there. They lost everything as their rich trust funds and backgrounds were drained of cash to make up for all the damage they've done.

My lawyers didn't take a dime of it, neither did Jason. I payed them handsomely enough for their efforts and they gained notoriety even in Smallville. Those same girls were given a chance to see a private therapist in Metropolis free of charge. The money to pay for it was coming from those three rapist's parents.

A week later I heard all three of them were raped to death when word got out about what they were in there for. The inmate that took credit for it all was already a lifer for killing his own daughters rapist outside the courthouse. I made an anonymous donation to his commissary a few days later to help him feel better.

I kept my ear to the ground for the next big events. When the LuthorCorp van was robbed, Lionel payed me a visit in person. After a vague accusation and threat I told him straightforwardly. "I don't need to steal from you to get refined meteor rocks Lionel. As you're well aware, I have almost a monopoly on them already. And yes I'm aware of what your transporting in the middle of the night. I simply don't care. Now take your vague threats and leave before I decide to do a lot worse than a simple threat."

He smiled. "Very well, since you aren't the one who took them, you wouldn't mind telling me how you know about them then."

I snorted. "Leave now Lionel, or I'll gain an interest in your current projects."

He paled and left in a huff. Lex showed up twenty minutes after his father left asking questions. "Like I told your father half an hour ago when he showed up, I've no interest in his late night activities."

Lex persisted. "But you do know what's in the trucks though right?"

I nodded. "Refined meteor rocks. It's why he showed up before you. He wanted to know why I'd take his rock collection. I told him the same thing I'm telling you, I'm not behind it, now leave."

He sighed and took off, hot on his fathers trail. I was at the Kent's barn when the three idiots showed up to beat up Clark's parents. I beat them down quickly and left them in a heap on Lex's doorstep with a note that said. (Next time you let someone out of jail, be sure they don't know who put them there. These idiots tried to kill the Kent's. P.S. Stay off my property, the both of you!) signed. (Sincerely Alex.)

I left them there before heading to the place they hid the Kryptonite. I stored it all in my ring before leaving to school to find the torch trashed. I called my people and made an anonymous donation for a fully upgraded computer system and and repairs to the torch.

A couple hours later the torch was fixed and the computers replaced. The missing refined meteor rocks became a mystery as the thieves confessed once they were turned over to the police.

Two weeks later a little girl started showing up everywhere. I saw her running around and caught her in the movie theater. I drained her of her speed and returned her to her father with Lex's help finding him.

Lana swore up and down the girl was a cloned version of her old friend. She and Clark went to investigate it and found the cloning lab. When they went to report it, it disappeared before the cops got there. I left the mess alone as it was useless to me.

I wasn't around for the doctors wakeup calls nor his attack on Clark as I stayed out of it in favor of the wedding rehearsal. I was invited with Bonnie and Ayana to our own table. I gave Lex and his bride a small gift with large implications. It was a suggestion to do a pregnancy test in the form of one.

Two days later Clark started acting strangely. We joined him the night he put the key into his ship and were flung against the walls as well. Our house symbols were burned into our chests and we were teleported and locked in the anti-chamber of the caves while Clark was set loose to make his decisions.

I spoke with the corrupted AI and we watched events unfold through holograms. When Clark blew up the ship, the blast crashed the Kent's truck, but not before Martha activated the personal shield. It dissolved into her skin and protected the baby only. The shield's energy field threw off the human technology making it seem like the baby was lost.

For the next three months the AI fed us energy from the sun to sustain us while using our scars to keep us in place. Not that we couldn't get out of it if we wanted to, but since Jarvis was doing damage control outside, there was no need for us to leave.

We were officially on summer vacation. Anyway, we watched Clark rob banks and ATMs all summer. When he was finally stopped by Johnathan from robbing Lionel Luthor's office, the AI sent us out of the cave walls. When we got out, Clark and Johnathan were there to see us come out.

When we saw them a burning sensation hit us and our scars were erased right then and there. I helped the girls up asking. "Clark, Johnathan, do you mind sharing your Jackets with the girls till they can get shirts. And maybe stop staring?"

Two jackets later we left the caves with them telling them about our front row seat to Clark's time in Metropolis and us being locked up until he finished some test. "No offense Clark, but Jor-el is a prick. Next time you play around with him, don't call us."

Clark shook his head. "None taken and I won't. But I could use some help with the farm. It's been barely tended all summer. Especially with the herd."

I shrugged. "I'll deal with that. On the plus side, I have good news. The shield on Martha worked, only the blast was to big so it shrunk to protect the weaker life. It's also the reason the doctors thought the baby was dead. I'll take it off Martha when we get to the house."

Johnathan asked. "Wouldn't she be showing now?"

I nodded. "Yes but the shield has cloaking technology built it to fool would be attackers into thinking nothings there. The baby's alright, of that I'm sure."

The Kent's were more than happy with the news. We road with them to the house and I took the shield off when I activated it's voice release code. It fell off nearly drained. I destroyed it saying it was useless now that the battery was dead.

I took the girls home and we got ready for our coming junior year as summer break was ending. When Morgan Edge made his move, I left it to Clark to deal with. I spent my time off chores and school with the girls from then on exploring other kinks we hadn't gotten to.

When a drugged girl and her weird uncle moved into Lana's old place, I dosed him with his own drugs and left him in a permanent coma. The girl eventually woke up and found her uncle with a needle in his arm and only his fingerprints on the syringe.

She was released from the hospital while her uncle was given a permanent stay. Since I used all forty bottles of drugs on him at once, odds are he'll never wake up. The state took over his care while the girl got her life back.

When Perry White showed his face in town, the solar flare had just hit. I warned Clark to stay indoors away from people as his abilities would be on the fritz while the flare was active. He went in the opposite direction with it and I stayed away with the girls.

We spent the entire two days in bed enjoying the intervals of power flicker through each other. It didn't effect us nearly as much as Clark because our cells were super charged by the core of the sun. We did however break the bedroom and couches before we ended up on the throw rug in front of the fireplace.

Perry White tried knocking on the door to see us, but Jarvis told him to politely piss off while handing him a couple hundred dollars. When the chick magnet came to school, Bonnie flirted with him long enough to drain his powers and compel him to leave town.

Everything was peaceful again, for a time at least. We ignored the Luthor father some torture experiment and kept to ourselves. Time passed quickly though and I wouldn't have know about recent events except Clark came into the fields one day while I was working and stumbled around.

I asked him what was wrong and he told me about the blindness. I chuckled. "That's easy enough to fix. Take off your glasses and I'll help you break up the scar tissue with my heat vision. Your Kryptonian healing will kick in and you'll be right as rain in a few hours."

He sounded shocked when he replied. "Really? All this time I could have been healed as easily as that?"

I chuckled. "Some of the hardest things in life have very simple solutions. How could you not have asked a fellow Kryptonian about an injury to one?"

He looked embarrassed as he took off his glasses and looked up wildly without any focus. I grabbed the sides of his head saying. "Try not to blink. It'll hurt a little and feel irritated for a while till it's better."

I started shooting a focused heat wave into his eyes to break up the scar tissue. When I stopped, he rapidly blinked and rubbed his eyes. Pete showed up while Clark was gaining his bearings. A few minutes later a kid pulled up in a tow truck and yelled for Pete to get into the truck.

I blurred and as soon as he made the high pitch sound, I punched him in the throat. He fell to the ground coughing and choking before throwing up and passing out in his own vomit. I told Pete. "Call the sheriff and tell the police there's a meteor infected here that can emit high frequency sounds with his throat."

Pete looked at me exasperated. "What am I supposed to tell them to charge him with?"

I snorted. "From what Clark's told me, he must be the partner to the jewelry heist guy. Odds are he was here to kidnap you and use you as ransom for your mom to drop the charges on his partner. Tell the sheriff I did another citizens arrest when he assaulted us with his ability."

Pete made the call while we waited. When the sheriff arrived and saw the downed kid, I told her. "He did some high pitch squeal with his throat so I punched him in it and he passed out. I checked on him and he should be fine other than a sore throat. If you want to arrest me for it, go ahead, I'll see you in court again as I can prove my words. Each post on this farm has a camera to watch the livestock. I had it installed when the fake LuthorCorp jackass poisoned the last heard."

She licked her lips and chewed on something before saying. "I want those tapes, and I'd better not see you making another citizens arrest."

I chuckled. "Sorry, but I'll give you copies. The originals stay with me. As for citizens arrests, you'd better change the laws on it otherwise I'd hate to think what your voters would think about those words."

She backed down still angry as hell. I went to my house and made a copy of the tape before handing it over. The system I hooked up was built to hide abilities like mine and Clark's, while it ignored my whole conversation with Clark and it picked up those abilities that weren't like ours at all.

I gave the tape to the sheriff working her. "You might want to gag him before he wakes up. If you'd like scientific evidence on meteor infected individuals, Heretic industries published a paper in the medical journal last month about the meteor rocks effects on the human genome and psyche. It's hard evidence and they're more than willing to back it up with proof."

She sneered but still put some cloth in the kids mouth before she cuffed him and put him in her car. I gave her my theory that's backed by the proof on the tapes and she sent a deputy to pick up and comb over the truck.

When the police finally left Clark asked about the tape I gave her and I laughed my ass of while telling him about the system. Finally Pete said. "That's not possible with the technology we have today!"

I chuckled. "It is when your company builds and sets the standards of the technology today. Speaking of which, the torch should be receiving a new set of computers soon enough."

Clark smiled. "Chloe is going to freak when she hears that."

I patted him on the shoulder. "That's why one of you two gets to tell here. Now come on, I need to teach you to control your hearing better before your vision comes back all the way."

We spent the rest of the evening teaching him control until he finally got it. Martha and Jonathan helped towards the end as well. When Lana showed up, I left them alone taking Pete with me. Pete went home and I finished the field work in a blur.

The sheriff called to tell me my hunch panned out and the kid was put in a padded soundproof room for everyone's safety until he served his time and could be rehabilitated. As my company was global, I decided to have them start hiring meteor infected and those with special abilities that couldn't find work elsewhere.

I was paying all that took the jobs twice the minimum wage for jobs that didn't require them to use their abilities. They were required to pass a monthly psyche evaluation as some of those with powers were effected by them as well. I started stopping by and screening all those new hires and secretly fixing them wherever possible.

A week later when the new computers for the torch arrived, the security guards at my company caught a woman trying to break into the storage facility. She was arrested and thoroughly searched before being handed over to a the police.

A scientist from Summerholt tried to get her out but my lawyers through the book at her and buried her in lawsuits for corporate theft and espionage and even assault on an officer when she fought back to keep from being cuffed.

The scientist tried to have her plea temporary insanity, but my lawyers caught him in his own words as he himself deemed her sane several months ago. They took it to court and she was sentenced to a secure woman's prison and given mandatory therapy by a licensed state professional that wasn't connected to either Summerholt or Heretic industries.

I teleported to her apartment and stole the mind control program from her computer before leaving without a trace. I left the file Chloe gave her editor about the Summerholt story on Lex's desk with no prints. To the camera's it just appeared there with a note that said. (Get well soon. Sincerely, A.M. P.S. Burn this, your father may be watching and listening again.)

I got a call from an unknown number the next day. I answered it and Lex was on the other end. "I got your message. Thanks for the tip."

I snorted. "I don't know what you're talking about, clearly you need help. Might I suggest you be sure of what kind you want to seek out. Some tend to trade secrets to the highest bidder."

He chuckled. "Thanks for the suggestion, I'll get help soon enough. Can I ask-"

I coughed. "Careful Lex, even clothes can have ears nowadays. Might I suggest a new wardrobe, I have a professional tailor on call for such an occasion."

I got back a growling scuffle as what I can only assume he was finding bugs in his suit lining before he spoke. "I'll be right over."

I made a not to be the tailor and pulled out a wardrobe from my vault that belonged to Niklaus before he joined the fashion trend that Caroline started on their new world. When Lex arrived, I had Jarvis go over his car and person for more bugs.

All in all there were just over a dozen found. The feeds were rewired to send false signals along with the car's onboard gps locator. When that was done, I sat down while Lex was fitted with a new suit. He asked. "What do you think my father's keeping from me?"

I chuckled. "A great many things I'm sure. I know most of them, but as to the one that made him deep fry your memory? Not sure which one it could be."

Lex sighed. "Then why don't you tell me what you know and I'll figure out the rest."

I laughed. "Lex, I may be helping you now because I feel for you being mind wiped like that, but don't take it as me being your ally, or friend. I've no reason to get in between you and your father's spat. Take the clean wardrobe and car and leave. If you want answers, find them yourself."

My tailor bot changed the wardrobe to fit Lex and Jarvis packed it up in his car before handing Lex the bugs and telling him the feed code to change them as he wants. He left not long after that. And everything was back on track.

When a new kid showed up at school that had visions of people's deaths, I stayed away until he lost the ability. I heard about Johnathan's heart attack but I couldn't really interfere or the Red Queen would never happen so I put a compulsion spell on all things dealing with Johnathan's heart problems to keep it away from us.

I had Jason come back to town and investigate the Smallville county police for corruption and after two weeks of work, I had a stack of proof on a few officers illegal activities. For his next project, I had him link one of the officers to illegal street racing.

He found the proof just as Clark and Pete showed up at my door. I let them in and Clark asked straight out. "Can I borrow twenty grand?"

I frowned. "For?"

Pete answered by telling me everything that was going on. I sighed and motioned for Jason to come forward. He tossed a file on the table saying. "I've linked the officer that tipped off the racers about the raid to them. We have enough proof for an in-depth search by any police standards."

I sighed. "But not quick enough to stop Pete here from catching a bullet. Make an anonymous donation to a clean cop and leave town. Your payment will be sent before you get to the leaving Smallville sign."

He took the files and left before I turned to Clark and Pete. "The cash is yours, but if I ever hear about you using Clark's or my secret against him again-"

He cut me off. "You'll break my legs I get it-"

I snorted. "No, I'll toss your sorry ass into a mental institution and give the doctors strict instructions to keep you drugged while I ruin your reputation and replace it with that of the town loon."

He flinched and I continued. "Trust me Pete, I don't give a rats ass if you're Clark's friend. Today just proves you're ill equip to handle our secrets."

I opened the safe in the wall and tossed twenty grand onto the table before closing it. "Feel free to prove me wrong. Now get out."

They left with the money and left, I whispered while they did so. "Clark, don't tell Pete this, but I wouldn't really do all that. I'm just trying to make him understand the seriousness of his actions. Otherwise one day he could slip up and get us tossed in labs to be dissected and I won't allow that to happen to you or the girls."

I heard him say. "Thanks, I understand."

They must've given the money to the guy that was hosting the races because a week later him and his friends were arrested along with a hand full of corrupt police officers. I made myself scarce for awhile and focused on chores and school while Bonnie and Ayana stuck to cheerleading and company business.

Over the next month, I wired the Kent's property with their agreement that it be the same system I used in the fields. While Bonnie and Ayana wired the caves and added illusions to hide them. When Lionel found Clark visiting the caves again, I had it record everything Lionel said and did.

I hired a private security force and instilled in them loyalty to me while on duty. When the system picked up Lionel telling his security team to raid the Kent farm pretending to be FBI, my own team was there to head them off. When the fake FBI handed over the fake warrant, my people came out of the shadows and opened fire on them, kneecapping all of them.

I called Lex while my security disarmed the fake FBI. "Tell your friends listening in that my people just caught Lionel's pretending to be FBI to do an illegal search on the Kent farm. I have video and audio of Lionel giving the orders as well. Tell your friends to send a cleanup crew and ambulances as it got a little bloody, but there were no fatalities. Plenty of people to interrogate in the meantime though."

I hung up just as I finished and explained everything to the Kent's. My team took all the weapons and phones from the fakes and put them into bags for the FBI to handle once they got here. Twenty minutes later a line of black SUVs and squad cars pulled up with ambulances.

My people had already put down their weapons and were sitting on the ground in lines waiting long before the Calvary showed up. The agent in charge started asking questions and I handed over the tapes as proof saying. "I've copies made and given to my lawyers in case you try turning rouge. As for everything that happened here, these are my private security teams and they stopped a forceful illegal search by a bunch of people impersonating the FBI as you can clearly see. Now we can follow the law as we have done, or my lawyers can see about taking down some real FBI agents."

I answered how I got the knowledge easily enough as the caves were my responsibility to protect. I spun the tale easily enough as I'd had the security on my payroll for a month already. The FBI agents took all our statements and I took a picture of the fake warrant before they took it too.

They took all the weapons and phones as evidence along with the injured security team that Lionel hired and the copies of the recordings. They left after their people finished taking the shell casings. When they were gone, I held out a hand to Johnathan. "Hand me the key, or the next time Lionel tried something it may be real FBI I can't stop."

He pulled it out of his pocket and Martha gasped. He handed it over and I told them. "Go about your lives. I doubt the FBI will charge Lionel with just ordering a false raid with fake FBI agents. This will just be one smoking gun in an arsenal. Lionel's desperate because he's dying of a rare liver disease."

Clark spoke up. "Like Adam and Vince."

I nodded. "Right now he's keeping it a secret from everyone including his shareholders to prevent a take over and because he's hoping to find a cure for it before he starts showing."

Clark asked. "Isn't your company curing all kinds of diseases now?"

I chuckled. "Yeah sure, the big ones that effect many people. They haven't even come close to the rare stuff yet as there at thousands of diseases out there. It takes time and if I took them off one of the bigger diseases to work on a rare one like Luthor's, thousand would die before they got a cure. I won't be doing it."

My people headed out to my place where their vehicles were and I followed not long after that. When I was home alone, I teleported to the New York conservatory. I walked into the back room and found Dr.Swann sitting at the desk in his wheelchair.

I walked over as he asked. "And who might you be?"

I chuckled. "You asked Kal-el to bring me to meet you once. Well, here I am. Your people call me Alexander Mikaelson, while my other name is Ro-em."

He sighed. "I am truly sorry for what my people did to you and the other two-"

I waved it off. "It's not your fault. Tell me you won't speak of me to anyone else and we can move forward."

When he did, I listened to his heartbeat while reading his mind. When he stopped, I sighed and tossed two things on the table. "This is the key to Kal-el's ship and to the cave."

He asked. "And the vile?"

I smiled. "That is a cure all. One dose flushes the system of all diseases and poisons known to man and Kryptonian's. A gift for watching out for Kal-el. All I ask is that you continue to watch out for him until he's ready to have the key again."

He sighed. "Why trust me with so much?"

I chuckled. "I bought all your old satellites and I'm repurposing them to give the world free communication. You could have stopped me at any time, yet I have a feeling you knew who I was long before you ever met Clark. After all, Veritas started with you before my parents and the others corrupted its meaning."

His eyebrows shot up and I smiled. "Don't be surprised. I've been aware of Veritas since my parents found me. They were open about it and their desires to turn me and the rest into weapons. I don't blame you for not acting, especially after Luthor poisoned you."

I stood up and waved a hand. "There's enough for two doses. Use it to fix your body, then keep the rest in case Lionel tries to finish the job. Might I suggest you keep the wheelchair in use as those that aren't aware of your recovery will see you as weak. And perceived weakness is a hidden strength."

He sighed. "Very well."

I blurred and left in a gust of wind. I kept tabs on Chloe from then on. Bonnie and Ayana hung out with her until she broke into the Luthor's factory. When she got out and came to school again then next day, they let off.

I watched from afar and when she ended up in the hospital, I came to visit. I was chatting with her and answering her random questions as if I was telling the truth, when Lionel came in. I set my phone on record and hid it with an invisibility spell before leaving it on the chair. I left the room while Chloe dialed her answering machine.

When Lionel admitted to ordering his parents murder for the insurance money, I smiled. After he convinced Chloe to go after Clark's secrets and she left, I walked in and asked. "So what'd you say to chase her off like that?"

He smiled. "I just suggested she find a better use for her talents. Now if you'll excuse me, I have a prior engagement to attend to."

When he left, I grabbed my phone and listened to the recording before laughing and teleporting home. I made copies of the recording and locked them away for the right moment. I did my chores in a blur before I went to the Talon and spent the rest of the day chilling with my girls.

When I heard Chloe was better again, I told Lana I was in a good mood and I'd grant one favor no questions asked. She smiled. "In that case, I want you to pay for my school trip to Paris so I can study abroad."

I smiled. "Done! I guess that means I won't be seeing you for a while."

She looked stunned. "But-but I was just joking."

I chuckled. "But I'm not. So when do you leave?"

She smiled before sighing. "If you're serious, I'll leave at the end of the school year."

I nodded and sent a text to Jarvis to wire her the money and pay for her school fees. Bonnie told her what I was doing and offered to look after the Talon while she was gone. By the time I was done texting, Lana had already said yes to Bonnie.
