The Original Heretic (1st of the series)

Reborn as the younger twin of Freya, he was by far the most dangerous original sibling out there. In his previous life he was an avid fan of the vampire diaries and the originals spin offs.

As we stepped through my most anticipated reality gate yet, we found ourselves in the 1900's early America. Bonnie turned to me asking. "Are you sure this is the right one?"

I nodded and spread my senses to envelop the planet. "This is it. I can feel the energy that is so much like ours that it's close. It's like a slightly impure version of magic. I can even sense the gates. One is in Egypt and the other is in the arctic. Both are currently inactive. We'll need to establish ourselves in this world before it begins."

She nodded. "Very well. I'll handle the business side and you handle the scientific side. We'll set ourselves as a reclusive owner that uses a decoy head of the company. When it's time, you will join the air force and I will invest in the program heavily. We can fund it all with the governments approval."

I nodded. "Then let us begin. The Langford's will find it in twenty eight, so we need to be the ones to fund the dig as well."

She nodded and I handed her a book of events we needed to follow. I set out to get myself a college degree In theoretical physics and applied physics, along with a long list of others I had to relearn to match this realities laws.

It took a while to match up the laws as magic wasn't the exact same here. Over the next few decades everything started in motion. Bonnie was able to fund the dig after selling off a lot of gold and jewels before creating a multinational business company.

She had to go slow as it had to be a perfect smokescreen cover. The Vice President of the company looked a lot like my family would and the president looked a lot like her grandmother in her younger years.

She made their backgrounds as friends and although it may have been wrong to use people this way, we gave them a rich and fulfilling life. Both were married and rich as all could be and the only part that was compelled was that they thought they owned the company.

While Bonnie took care of that, I shores up my knowledge of this worlds laws and scoured the globe taking out problems and acquiring technology. I killed Seth and took his goa'uld technology that I repurposed into human advances. We couldn't reveal anything I made from it but we did speed up the earth's technology by designing computers and phones.

We even made cars, though we tried to reduce the amount of carbon dioxide in the air by making and selling carbon emission filters as well. We made solar farms when the rest of the world made wind farms. By the seventies, Bonnie and I had been "born" and our childhoods established as raised by the house help.

It was an illusion of sorts but we grew into our own and she went to college early to catch up on her own degrees. I joined boot camp and eventually the air force as an officer. Our 'parents' continued to fund various things while keeping an eye on the stargate program.

In ninety I served with Samantha Carter as her squad mate and flew over a hundred hours in enemy airspace while studying for my degrees for records sake. In ninety one I served in Turkey with O'Neill. Like Sam, he and I became great friends.

In ninety four I joined Samantha and Bonnie in working with Cathrine Langford to build a computer program that deciphers the stargate's symbols. It wasn't hard and Bonnie pointed out the star charts with the symbols points.

We pretended to fall in love all over again and I got to court her on some real dates. In ninety five I was visiting Jack when I gave him a gun safe Heretic industries designed. Yes, Bonnie has a good laugh when she named the company. That earned her a tongue lashing to speak of nothing else.

We became busy again and I dig deep into languages when Daniel Jackson was recruited to the base. Jack was called in the same week. He was less angry and his son was alive now, though he was going through a bitter divorce.

Jack and I led the team to Abydos while Bonnie and Sam tried coming up with more permutations to the stargate. The events went much the same and when the Ra's ship blew up, I pent a few hours filming and studying the gate addresses. After that, while everyone else was having a party before we depart, I went to the temple Ra his eye.

I took the tablet of the ancients as well. When we left Abydos I stuck to the story and filed the eye and the tablet away for study. Bonnie and Sam spent the next year studying both while I was half way around the world doing black ops.

One day I was called back to Colorado to the Cheyenne mountain complex. I was sent to an interrogation room and grilled for a few minutes. I stuck to the story until Jack came in. "They know Alex."

I sighed. "Well Damn."

I told them the real debriefing and Jack filled in his parts. I added at the end. "It could've come from another planet."

That got General Hammond's attention. "What do you mean another planet?"

I chuckled. "Before I was shipped out last time, Bonnie, Sam and I were kicking around the idea of more worlds. The number of permutations with a seven digit code out of the thirty eight up their means that it couldn't possibly have been for only one planet. And since the first alien had a space ship, it clearly means his species has the technology to get to the other planets."

He frowned. "Why haven't you mentioned this before?"

I smiled. "I did. General West said not to mention it unless we could prove it. While I have no proof, it's mostly because after we came back, I was debriefed and shipped out while Sam and Bonnie have been busy on other projects."

General Hammond nodded. "Well you'll be getting your chance again shortly because you're going back to Abydos to bring back the good doctor."

I nodded. "Am I to assume I've been reassigned sir?"

He nodded. "Indefinitely, you'll be here full time from now on, welcome back state side."

I turned to Jack. "I heard you retired. Are you here for the debrief?"

He shook his head. "Reactivated. I'm here with you for this mission."

I nodded. "How's Charlie?"

He smiled. "He visited last weekends and were working on his treehouse."

I chuckled. "Careful now, kid has so much energy he'll probably have built before the mission ends."

We laughed and went to get suited up. In the official team debrief Bonnie and Carter were there as well. We had one team with two Colonels. Jack and I separated the work. He took point while I protected the flank and saw to it we had the option to retreat.

When we arrived on Abydos, Sam and Bonnie broke off and went to look closer at the gate addresses. I covered the gate and set up a perimeter around the gate room. Jack met with the locals and had their meal with the locals.

I chilled with Skaara for a bit before going to watch the gate. After an hour, a team of Jaffa came through with Apophis. I opened fire and took down four of them before shooting at Apophis himself. The Jaffa broke ranks and I tossed a grenade followed by a flash bang.

Another five Jaffa went down and I laid suppressive fire while waiting for backup. The Jaffa hit me with a staff and I took the blow like a mortal. I hit the pillar and pretended to be dead. When they got what they came for, I shot my pistol at the Jaffa holding Sha'uri. She managed to get away while a zat'nik'tel.

Luckily the Jaffa only fires it once or I'd have a hard time explaining my survival. The Jaffa that chased Sha'uri came back with her, I knew I got hit for nothing. When they left, the team came back hot. Jack checked me and after a minute I woke up groaning. "Damn that shit stings. How the hell am I supposed to shrug of a lightning blast?"

I sat up and looked at the damage. My best took most of the staff weapon blast while the Zat actually tingled a little. I told Jack the situation and my failure to stop the kidnapping. Daniel was rightly pissed and thanked me for risking my life.

We packed up and carried our injured while the rest of the team carried the armor and weapons from the dead Jaffa. Major Kowalski saw the gate address so we now had proof it works for other addresses. When we got back and had a debrief, I got to see Daniel Jackson's demand to be apart of the team.

I went with Jack to convince Hammond to allow it before doing the mandatory medical checkup. Three hours later we were geared up and heading back out. We infiltrated and got busted on Chulak. When Jack begged Teal'c to help him rescue the people and he agreed, I kept into action and disarmed a Jaffa before blasting four of them in a row with a staff weapon.

Jack and Teal'c blew the back wall to escape and I covered for them. When they were out of sight I blurred and slaughtered the Jaffa chasing us in seconds. I killed most of the Jaffa in the area before bringing up the rear.

We made it to the home stretch to the gate when the second team fired and brought down the gliders. After the first one, they missed and Teal'c fires it down with a staff weapon. When we got back to earth, our debrief was a little rough.

Bonnie told the general. "Heretic inc. will foot the bill for relocation. Since we now know of more worlds out there, my grandfather's deal with the government goes through. My company foots the bill in exchange for patent rights to all non weapons. In exchange, we also foot the bill for all research done for the government as well as the day to day bills."

Hammond nodded. "I'll have to speak to the president but I'm sure he'll agree seeing as how he won't have to run it by Congress."

Bonnie agreed. "It's a deal already in place though it'll have to be renewed I'm sure."

Once they got that over with, General Hammond informed us. "Teal'c will be takin into custody and studied while you, Jack, will head the team designated SG-1. Since you and Alex here are so used to working together, he will be your second in command. Your team will consist of Lt.Samantha Carter and Daniel Jackson."

I spoke up now. "Why is Teal'c being taken to be studied?"

General Hammond replied. "He's the first alien life form to grace us with his presence and his of scientific and military importance."

Jack was pissed. "For crying out loud, if it weren't for him my team and all those people would be dead."

General Hammond replied. "He's changed sides once, whose to say he won't again. Besides, he has the only Goa'uld on the planet within him."

I snorted. "Then if that's the only problem, confine him to base and he can join us on SG-1. If your scientists need a live specimen, I'm sure Teal'c can point us to a place where they hold them. We can go capture some more for testing and Teal'c can show his trustworthiness."

General Hammond nodded. "I'll take that under advisement. Until then this meeting is adjourned."

I went to visit Kawalsky to see about his condition. I found him in the medical room. When he grabbed the doctor, I grabbed him and restrained him saying. "Inform security we have an unwelcome guest."

The goa'uld struggled but I overpowered it while locking his arms behind his back. After a minute of struggling, the doctor gave him a sedative. I helped strap him down and called the general to inform him of the situation. He came to the medical room with Colonel Kennedy and Jack.

I told them. "I was coming to find him for a game of poker and when I came it I saw something sliding under his skin like a snake. I came closer and he grabbed the doc by the throat. I subdued him but he was buckling like a bronco. The damn thing made him a lot stronger. I've trained with him before and he's never showed strength like that."

Jack cursed. "Damnit, he's got one of those goa'uld in him."

General Hammond turned to the doctor. "Keep him sedated for now and get an x-ray of him. I want to be able to see what it's doing to him. And I want solutions to get it out of him."

I sat with Kawalsky through his examination and when Jack came to speak with him, I took my leave. I went to find Bonnie to see what she wanted to do. In the end, we settled on slipping a paralysis spell on the symbiote and if it still tricked everyone, then we can honestly say we did what we could without breaking our cover.

When Jack finished speaking to him, I patted Kawalsky on the back as I did a quick spell. The doctor gave him the sedative to knock him out for surgery and they began. I was next to Hammond in the observation room watching. It went as in cannon and I sighed, knowing what would happen next.

I went to help decipher the glyphs for the gate addresses with Daniel. When the gate alarms went off for the gate room, we headed there at full speed. The blast doors were closed so I joined O'Neill and Hammond in the theatre room.

When the blast doors raised, Teal'c was fighting Kawalsky. O'Neill gave the order and the gate shut off and took the back of Kawalsky's head with it. The blast doors opened and we ran in. A piece of the goa'uld fell out of Kawalsky and shriveled up.

I sighed and called in a mess team to remove the body and send the goa'uld in for study. An hour later general Hammond was on the phone with the president. After a brief pause where he handed the phone to Colonel Kennedy.

Hammond announced. "Teal'c will be taken into Jacks custody and you'll both be responsible if he turns on us. I expect you to capture some of these things so we can study and determine if and how they can be removed successfully."

I nodded. "Might I suggest we do that after we have a base off world so that we don't have to worry about it biting us in the ass if one or more of the scientists get taken over. Besides, a base or two off world will give us a chance to launch an offensive if need be without having to worry about massive casualties or another foothold scenario."

He nodded. "I'll run it up the chain of command. Sound thinking."

I shrugged. "Its how we run covert ops, I just figured it might apply."

We discussed more security protocols we could put in place. Two days later we went on our first mission. On the first mission out, we ran into a boy being chased by dogs. The team fended them away and when Daniel said the were mongols.

I pulled a scarf I kept to clean my guns out and handed it to Carter. "Wrap that around your face, only leave your eyes visible. If Daniel's right, then it's most likely in their laws to kill any woman showing her face or speaking out of turn. Sexist I know, but it'll save us some problems if we followed along for now."

Carter took it with a thanks and I stood in front of her while she put it on. When the leader came, the kid told his father Carter helped save him. We followed them back to their camp like Daniel wanted so that he could study them.

I kept to the back and assessed them for any threats. While they took part in the celebrations, I stood guard. Later that night, I saw the young princeling trying to take off with Carter. I snuck up behind him and put a gun to his head. "Move and I'll put a bullet in your head."

He stilled and I demanded. "Drop your weapons on the ground slowly."

He did so and I cold cocked him with the butt of my gun. While he passed out I cut Sam's bindings and freed her. "Oh thank god."

I chuckled. "I'm the backup remember, you honestly thought I'd let some punk take off with my team member?"

She sighed and looked at the kid. "You got him good."

I nodded. "We'll probably have to leave in the morning even if it doesn't come to a fight."

I grabbed the kid and brought him with us. She went to get the team and I went to take the kid to his father. I told the guards I needed to talk to their chief as it was urgent. When he came out I dropped his kid at his feet.

He demanded. "What is the meaning of this?"

I sighed. "Your son here tried to abscond with the my female team member. If I were a chief like you, it would be grounds for me to take his head. As it is, all I ask is for a peaceful resolution. I sent said team member to get the rest of my team. We'll head out at first light, until then, I'd like an explanation as to why your kid was willing to kidnap a potential ally in the middle of the night."

He looked weary. He told his guards to take the kid inside and wake him up. O'Neill and the rest came over a few minutes later in full gear. Even Carter was in full tactical. I told them what I'd done and they seemed to agree. We went inside as the kid roused.

His father demanded an answer for this problem and the kid told his story of wanting to trade her to a chief a village over. I sighed. "Even if you could have gotten her there, the odds that he'd honor his words aren't very high from what I understand. He sounds like a tyrant and tyrants never give up anything when they can take instead. You'd be lucky to walk away alive."

The chief agreed. "Forgive my son, he is young and in love."

Carter proposed. "Perhaps we can do something to help."

O'Neill bit out. "Carter, we do not interfere in their problems when we just met them."

Unfortunately he was too late and the kid seized on it. "You would help me get her?"

I rubbed a hand across my face. I asked the chief. "If I bring the girl here, could you protect them both?"

He shook his head. "I am no longer as strong as I used to be. If I harbored them, we'd be slaughtered."

I turned to the kid with narrowed eyes. "Your a cunning little kid. You knew we'd come to get her back and in the process kill your enemy. While I admire the mind we're not your executioners to be sent to war for you."

I turned to Jack. "It's up to you. I'm only the backup in case things go sideways. If you want me to extract the girl, I'll have to kill the chief as well to insure they don't slaughter this village."

He frowned and debated for a while then asked the chief. "We're looking for land to set up a base. The area where you found us to be exact. If you can promise us that land, I'll see to it your tyrant enemy is removed."

The chief looked indecisive for a moment before nodding. "The land there is yours if you can do as you say."

Jack looked to me. "Do it."

I nodded and stripped off my armor and passed it to Carter. I took two knives. "I'll be back by morning with the girl."

I left the village in the night and when I was far enough away, I blurred and ran to the next village. I found the chief in his tent drunk. I slit his throat and went to the woman's tent before knocking out his daughter. I threw her over my shoulder and ran back at a slower human pace.

By sunrise I saw the village in the distance. I carried the girl and set her down awake in front of the chief and my team. I turned to O'Neill. "It's done."

I took my gear and put it back on. He muttered. "Just like Turkey?"

I nodded and went to stand at the back while they talked. The chief spoke. "With their chief dead, they will war amongst themselves to decide the next chief. They will weaken further, I owe you a great debt, the land is yours and I offer my peoples alliance. We will be ally's from now on."

Jack took thanks and had treaty written up. When the chief signed it, the village threw another party. We left later the next day. When I handed in my report, I detailed everything we gained and the way the tyrant chief treated his woman as well. Towards the end of the debrief, general Hammond sighed. "Let's try and avoid another situation like that."

I nodded. "I agree. Though we had little option there. If we'd have left, the villages would war and I wasn't about to let the kid take off with Carter only for her to end up doing the same as I did."

He sighed and we went to take the mandatory medical checkups. Bonnie and Carter were working on an algorithm that takes in account stellar drift so that we could check out more planets. I took a few days of leave to do a bit of stealth stealing and stole the Russians D.H.D.

I made sure to go undetected and I brought it to the labs at Heretic industries to be studied by our scientists. When I reported for duty again on Friday, I was greeted with a mission to the planet of the apes, or as close to it as possible. When I realized what planet it was I sent out a pulse of magic that destroyed all traces of the virus on the planet.

The cavemen that came to attack us were knocked unconscious suddenly while their bodies were purged of the virus. Jack asked. "What do you make of this?"

I shrugged. "They look primitive, our presence must've effected the environment."

Carter asked. "Like a plague?"

I chuckled. "I doubt it. More likely it was a common cold or something. It might not even be us that caused it. We won't know till we study it."

I dialed up earth and sent Hammond a message. "Send over some doctors in hazmat suits. We may have come in contact with a disease. I'd rather not risk our world on the possibility."

General Hammond confirmed. "Roger that. Is anyone sick?"

I sighed. "It's not our team that's sick, it's the indigenous people here. They fell down as they approached us and I'm unsure whether we caused it or if it's something else that hasn't effected us yet."

"Shut down the gate, we'll send the doctors with a team in fifteen minutes."

I did so and we spent the next two days as pin cushions. When they found a small trace of the disease in the unconscious people's blood, they realized it was some kind of virus that was just wiped out.

They took samples and cleared us for travel back. The SG team that took over reported the light and dark side with its peoples differences. When the people woke up cured and the untouched saw them, they declared SG-3 gods.

Bonnie got a good laugh out of it at least. Our next mission was kind of ironic after the last one. We were sent in to check on a team that hadn't answered their radios in a few days. We found one of the team members in the forest not far from the gate.

The minute he said his Captain declared himself a god and left a group of people staled out in the sun to die, O'Neill turned to me. "Retrieve all team members and meet us at the gate."

I nodded. "I'll have angry indigenous on my ass so have it ready when I come running."

Teal'c offered to help but Jack turned him down as I took off my vest and backpack. "He works alone on retrieval missions. It's a thing he has. When he does so, everything turns out alright, but if someone goes with, everything tends to turn to shit quick."

I chuckled. "Never going to let me love that down huh? I saved your ass."

He scowled. "And you burnt half a city to the ground!"

I sighed. "You insisted on coming along. That's on you."

I tossed him my gear and handed the new guy my weapons. "Take care of them, I'll kick your ass if you scratch the paint on them."

Carter asked. "What, no weapons?"

I shook my head. "If I need a weapon, I'll take there's."

I took off at a run and disappeared into the forest. I threw up an invisibility spell and ran into the camp. I waited until no one was looking and started dropping SG people with a smack to the head while my body blurred to the human perception.

I tossed invisibility spells on them and carried them on my shoulders. On the way out I removed the spells as I ran effortlessly while carrying two soldiers. The scouts yelled that I was taking their god and the settlement became buzzing with activity.

I hauled ass while carrying the two and after a few minutes of running, I heard O'Neill yell. "Start the dialing. He's brought company."

By the time I was near enough to see the gate, it was active. I yelled. "Send the code and go through, I'll be right behind you."

A minute later I ran through the gate right behind Jack. When we reached the other side I yelled. "Activate the iris."

I set the SG team members down and the doctors came in to take them away. The iris was up and after three bangs it stopped and eventually the gate shut. I gave my report and debriefed before saying. "He had several more of the indigenous people tied up in the sun when I got there. If he wasn't guaranteed a court marshal I'd have taken him out. Some of the people tied up were no older then sixteen."

I left and went to Bonnie for comfort. We spent the rest of the day studying the Captain's own report about the devices. Teal'c said they were some sort of shield against radiation. I came up with an idea and pitched it to the general and he agreed.

The next day we went back and explained everything to the indigenous people before saying. "We would like to relocate you to a more hospitable world where the sun doesn't harm you."

The new leader asked. "But if we active the device-"

I waved him off. "Assuming they're both still here and they both still work, eventually they'll run out of power and you'll all be back to the way things are now. We'd like to study the devices and see if we can replicate them or make something better. In exchange, we'd provide you with a world where your people are safe from the sun and you can move on from this hell hole."

After a discussion with his people he agreed. SG-3 led the village to the gate after they packed up everything that they wanted. We, on the other hand, located both devices and brought them with us to the gate. By the time we located and acquired both devices, the village had already gone to the Mongolian world.

All in all it was a successful prize and something that could possibly lead us to shield generator technology. It also made a big hit when the president got word of possible shield generators or even efficient radiation shields.

The tech was handed over to Heretic industries. I spent some free time studying it and although I found it useful against UV radiation, it required to much power to run. We found the naquadah power source inside and ran tests on it before sending the reports to the SGC.

With its components at my finger tips I jotted down a few ideas for shielding technology. I ran it by Bonnie and Carter before submitting it to the SGC as viable. Though to run it we'd need a lot more power than the little amount of naquadah we had could produce. And even then, we'd have to refine it.

The next mission came up and we went to a yellow sand planet. When I saw the crystals, I pulled out my Geiger counter and my emp detector. I spoke up when I got a reading. "Nobody touch them. They're giving off low levels of radiation and en em field."

They pulled out theirs and I followed O'Neill over the mound. When I saw the intact one and Jack about to touch it, I grabbed his arm and pulled it away. "Don't, this one seems active."

A face formed on it and it spoke in Jack's voice. "Help me."

I swore and pulled him away before radioing the rest of the group. "The crystals are sentient. Do not touch. I repeat, do not touch."

We regrouped and I told them. "The burnt ends of the crystals look like plasma fire from a staff weapon. It looks like the goa'uld had them all destroyed but a few survived. I can't say they're enemies or potential ally's but I do know one has shown the potential to mimic faces. If it has enough energy I'd imagine it could mimic one of us. So from now on, no one touches them or goes anywhere alone."

Carter spoke up. "I'll radio command and let them know what's going on."

I nodded and we got to work. Jack sat down next to the full crystal with Daniel and tried to communicate with it. Carter and Teal'c unburied a complete one that was cracked in several places. While they were speaking to it, I sent a small repairing spell to it and it's cracks healed.

It's face came out and spoke as Carters. "Thank you."

I chuckled. "It must've needed the sun and atmosphere to heal. If that's so, then we can't remove them from this environment without killing them."

After a couple hours, they finished talking with the crystals and we left. Another SG team would be sent for a follow up later. The next week a congressman showed up at the base to get a tour. He was the one who helped push through the deal Heretic industries has with the government.

When he complained that we weren't bringing back enough technology, Teal'c spoke up and informed us of a creature that could make itself invisible. When the general gave his go ahead, Bonnie joined us on this mission. We walked through and as soon as the gate shut down, it disappeared.

I waved Jack on. "You take the team to find your bird, Dr.Bennet and I will try and find the gate."

He nodded and told the team to move out. When they left I spoke. "You can come out now. It's a neat trick but it cannot fool my eyes."

An old man appeared. "You are not one of them?"

I chuckled. "I've lived on their world for a century but no, I am not one of them. They are not aware of mine and my wife's nature."

He looked confused. "Then why do you come with them?"

I sighed. "To protect the young. They have much to learn, and so long as they aren't aware of us, they can grow and become wise with time."

I turned to look at the oldest man who came in to view behind the other. "In my eyes, your race and even those you call the ancients are still young. You still have room to grow, though your isolation hinders it by much. Being at peace and one with nature is fine, but being apart from all other races hinders your growth."

The old man asked. "How-"

"Old am I?"

I smiled. "The humans we are with define one day as one revolution around their planet, a year is one revolution around their sun. By that standard, I am twenty three billion years old, give or take a millennium or two."

He looked shocked and I chuckled. "You are still very young indeed. While my wife here is younger than I by a lot, she is still older than all of you combined, and that's her physical age. We've studied the stars and energy up to the potential to alter reality around us if we desire."

I waved a hand and the sky turned dark. I waved it again and it became clear. Bonnie spoke now. "We share this with you not to show off, but to ask for your assistance in giving our companions knowledge. We cannot directly act to teach them without them becoming suspicious of our motives. Yet we still wish to help them as much as possible here today. All we ask is that you teach those that will listen while they are in your presence."

The oldest one smiled. "We can do that. But I am curious, are you from this reality then?"

I shook my head. "We have the ability to walk through space and time. Realities and even time as you measure it has no meaning to us. I am aware that your race were once apart of a group of four that shared your knowledge and technology amongst each other. Our goal is to renew that pact, and make our companions the fifth race. If we succeed, we will bring our people to this reality eventually to become the sixth race."

The elder nodded slowly. "Perhaps it is time we start speaking to our old friends. Though the ancients and Furlings are gone, the Asgard are still around."

I smiled and waved a hand as the gate reappeared. I waved another hand and we all became invisible before I teleported us to the shootout that was happening. When it was over, I made all the injured invisible before teleporting us to the nox's house in the woods. I healed the injured and turned to the nox. "I do not posses your ability to bring the dead back without consequences. Although I could do so if I saw it performed."

They got to work while I threw sleep spells on those I healed. I watched them work with my wolf eyes activated and magic running through them. They basically used the body as a talisman to call the spirit back before it could cross over. While they healed the body simultaneously.

When they were done with the first one I stopped them then waved a hand, doing the rest simultaneously. After eons of using multiple talismans, this was actually pretty easy. They were all brought back and healed while Bonnie tossed sleeping spells on them.

The Nox elder smiled. "You have learned."

I nodded with a smile. "Even I can learn something new. There are beings out there that would call me young as well. Perhaps when both our people are less young, we can meet with them as well."

We sat and chatted telepathically. I shared some knowledge I had of time manipulation with them and they agreed to share as much of their knowledge as they could with the humans. I warned them of what would happen if the Jaffa that my comrades were fighting came to know of them. The disaster it would cause the planet. I shared with them a technique to make them forget or suppress the memory.

They agreed it did not violate their ways to suppress the memory of their people to insure the goa'uld would not come. While they could stop them, it could lead to bloodshed they were not willing to risk.

The Jaffa I healed had his memory erased and was placed within range of the other Jaffa and Apophis. When Jack and the rest of the team woke up, they came out and saw us sitting together in silence.

Jack asked. "What happened to finding the gate?"

I smiled. "Meet the people that hid it. They are the ones with cloaking abilities, not your bird."

The elder spoke. "The doorway is revealed again. You may leave when you wish to. Your weapons have already been sent through."

Jack sighed. "Great!"

I chuckled. "Relax and get to know them. They healed you after all, and you were nearly dead. It's the least we can do."

He scowled. "I guess."

I grinned and Daniel began asking them so many questions. I continued to answer the elders questions telepathically while we ate fruit. When we were done, I took a seed and gave it to the kid. I sent him a telepathic message of how to grow a strong and old tree from that seed.

He smiled and ran over to a small clearing. His father came over and watched. Daniel and the rest hadn't noticed anything until a tree rapidly grew, tall and strong. They all dropped their jaws. When it was done growing, it surpassed the highest and thickest trees of the forest.

I smiled and remembered the white oak tree and it's many uses. Though this was different and was in the end a fruit tree, it still served a purpose all its own. We spent a few days there after we reported in that it was an advanced race and not a bird that had cloaking technology. Carter learned as much as she could in those couple days before we had to leave.

I told the Nox to burry their gate as to avoid more Jaffa. Even if they knew something buried the gate, they could fake an earthquake disaster to make it look like it was buried in a crack of the earth. They agreed as they had no need of it anyway and the planet had no highly intelligent creatures that could use it.

When we left, I took the DHD with us. When the general asked why I told him the truth. They had no need of it and they were going to burry the gate in an earthquake. I asked to study its inner workings and Bonnie mentioned that Heretic industries acquired one through the black market not long after the dig in Egypt. They had been doing research on it for a while.

When general Hammond asked. "Why haven't you mentioned it before now."

She shrugged. "I've never seen another since and I had no clue what it was till I saw it in person. I only recognized it because I saw it when I was a kid in my fathers lab."

He sighed. "Well what have your people learned about it?"

She smiled. "A lot actually. We have a set of blueprints made up in case it needs repaired. It runs on crystal technology and if my guess is right, it's powered by the gate itself. If we hooked it up to the gate, I'm sure I could learn more."

Damn Bonnie was good. She nearly fooled me and I knew about it all from the beginning. The general gave the go ahead for testing once all teams were back from their missions. A week of testing went on and the results had various people on the move. Carter and Bonnie were trying to copy the devices ability to detect and shut down in the event of a black hole dial in.

I made several copies of the blueprints for everyone in each team to memorize. Daniel was deciphering the glyphs on the devices and Jack was sent to retrieve the device at Heretic industries. Teal'c was helping Daniel wherever possible.

We took on our next mission right after the tests. We arrived on Pelops's planet. I chuckled while Daniel delivered a baby. Jack asked. "What's so funny?"

I shook my head. "A friend of mine had a kid a while back and this reminded me of it. She was screaming her head off and there her wife was trying act as a midwife. She was very clumsy and nearly fainted when the baby came. Daniel's words brought it all back."

Jack smiled then asked. "Wait, she had a wife?"

I smiled. "They were good friends of mine so I paid for a trip to Amsterdam so they could get married. While it isn't legal in the US, it doesn't mean the whole world is intolerant. Besides money talks and I've plenty to speak."

He looked confused and I chuckled. "I didn't join the air force for the paycheck Jack. I was born with a diamond spoon and I decided I'd give back more than just some petty cash to the world. So I joined to help protect our country and now our world."

I walked around the statue and pointed to the symbols asking Teal'c. "Do you recognize those?"

He nodded and kneeled down pressing them in a certain order. When he finished a hidden compartment popped open. He pulled out a tablet and a ball that reminded me of a computer mouse. He strolled it across the tablet as it came to life with symbols. I read his mind while he read it and when he got to the aging part, I stopped him and called the others over.

The group was just about to leave with the happy couple and their baby. They came back over and Jack asked. "What is it?"

I sighed. "Pelops messed with these people's natural life span. Instead of having a hundred years of life at max, they live a hundred days. I don't know how he did it exactly but don't eat or drink anything from this place and don't exchange bodily fluids with the people here either. We don't want to end up with whatever Pelops gave them. Odds are, it would kill us quickly because we're far older than a hundred days."

He looked like I'd smacked him. "Copy that! Rations only people."

He went with Daniel to study and make friends with the people. I pulled out my emp detector and ran it over the statue. When it got a hit towards the statues waist, I snorted. "Bingo. We've got goa'uld technology in here."

Teal'c stood back and opened fire on the top part of the statue. After the top fell off, I pulled out a box with glowing lights. "It looks like a transponder."

Teal'c nodded. "Indeed."

I radioed O'Neill and told him we found something. Carter came back and started studying it while I asked Teal'c. "Could the sequence have been a code as well? A hidden key to the transponder?"

He raised an eyebrow and looked at the symbols at the base of the statue again. "Perhaps. I will try and decipher it if that is what it is."

While he got to work, I contacted command with what we've found so far and sent back blood samples to be looked over in the labs. The team noticed everyone going to sleep as soon as the sun set. I did my best speculative face and pondered to Carter. "Viruses can't do this, not to all those people at once. Only a machine could. Since it's not effecting any of us, I can only assume it's on them or in them."

She nodded. "I'll contact Dr.Fraiser about the possibility of nanorobotics. And to be careful."

She made contact with command with the hypothesis and an hour later she got confirmation. The indigenous people were infected by nanites and they were speeding up the aging process. Throughout the night we worked and finally we figured out the code.

Carter set the goa'uld transmitter to slow down the people's aging process. When Jack informed them of what the goa'uld did to them and what we'd done, they threw a party. None of us really joined in because we couldn't risk exposure. We sent samples to an off world base to be studied and hopefully advance our own understanding.

We left Pelops's world with the tablet of scientific information as well. I spent the next week with Daniel deciphering Norse Mythology. He found it fascinating that I spoke old Norse and Bonnie had a laugh commenting that it should've been my first language with how sexy I make it sound.

I told him of my ancestors being Vikings and that seemed to fascinate him all the more. When we were finished, he brought it up at a meeting. Teal'c informed us that he'd seen the symbol of Thor's hammer and gave us the coordinates for a world that was dangerous or goa'uld.

When we stepped on the planet, the Vikings pointed at us and laughed. The monolith in front of the gate began humming. When it scanned us, it moved along until it was on Teal'c. I jumped in front of him and we were both taken.

We found ourselves in a cave. A hologram of Thor spoke, telling us the planet was protected from the treaty with the system lords. It said to go before the hammer if we wished to be rid of the goa'uld and leave, otherwise we could stay here indefinitely.

Teal'c and I left and found a small water source. I saw the Unas in the dark, though I figured it could wait. We left the puddle and I lead us to the exit slowly. The Unas made its presence known and came after us. When it caught up, I shot it in the head repeatedly until there wasn't much left of it's head.

Teal'c raised an eyebrow. "It is dead."

I chuckled. "First rule of fighting, if you're unsure how to kill something, shoot it's head. Most sentient beings cannot revive or regenerate without one."

I pointed to the partially revealed goa'uld in the green blood and brain matter. "Goa'uld seem to have a regeneration ability for their hosts. Now it's dead and so is the host."

I asked. "What do you think it was?"

He spoke evenly. "It appears to be an Unas. They were beings that were born from the same primordial waters as the goa'uld. They were the first hosts to be used as such."

I nodded. "They probably evolved on the same planet and probably ate the goa'uld before they adapted enough to take over the Unas's bodies."

He raised an eyebrow. "Indeed."

I wrapped the body up in a rope and dragged it with us as we headed towards the exit. He raised an eyebrow and I chuckled. "Bonnie would kill me if I didn't bring back it's corpse for study. Perhaps command will even give us another thanks for another possible scientific breakthrough. Besides, it's been awhile since we brought something useful back."

He grabbed the rope and helped me drag it, though it wasn't really necessary, I still had to appear human. When we arrived at the hammer, I stopped him saying. "It will probably kill the goa'uld in you if you cross over. Let's make camp and wait for the team to show up. They should be out looking for us by now."

He nodded and I asked. "Can I see your staff?"

He raised an eyebrow and handed it to me. I weighed it in my hands before taking off my vest and started going through bō staff training. He watched and when I finished I handed it back to him. "Show me what you've got."

He went through his own rough aggressive forms. I nodded and made a few comments on it. He raised an eyebrow but nodded. "You seem to be a master of the staff."

I smiled. "I've mastered many forms of combat and made my own forms that suit me best. I've trained for most of my life in one form of combat or another."

I held out a hand and went through the corrected form of combat that I'd suggested for him. He looked surprised when I continued on to an even deadlier form and by the end, he looked serious. "Perhaps when this is all over, you would honor me with a dual."

I chuckled and handed back his staff. "Perhaps."

A few hours of discussing the forms of combat and training we'd both mastered, the team finally appeared on the other side of the doorway. Jack asked. "Why are you to just sitting there, let's go."

I pointed to the doorway. "Odds are it'll kill the goa'uld in Teal'c and without it, he'll die."

He looked to me seriously. "Then you know what we must do?"

I nodded and tossed over Teal'c's staff weapon. "Energy weapons don't work on this side, you'll have to do it on that one."

Daniel spoke up. "But this means Sha're can be saved."

I shook my head. "She not here right now and I don't leave people behind. Look at it this way, it's possible to remove it now and we know of at least one race of people who could do so."

He sighed and Jack fired at the doorway. When it deactivated, I pulled the Unas behind me through and Teal'c followed after. Carter and O'Neill asked. "What the hell is that?"

I chuckled. "A dead enemy I'm bringing back for study. I don't exactly have anything to wrap it up with so dragging it will have to do."

And drag it I did, all the way down the mountain side and to the gate. Daniel have the Viking woman with us the box he had made to explain earth to other races. He told her it was for Thor. I spoke. "The address to Midgard is on the back. If you dial us, stand in front of this malp here and speak. Don't try to send anyone through or they'll die. Our gate has a shield on it preventing others from coming through without our permission."

She nodded and spoke her thanks. I clasped hands with her saying. "Takk for hjelpen."

She smiled wider. "You speak as if you are one of our people."

I chuckled. "I am a descendant of Vikings. My last name is even to honor my father. I am Alexander Mikaelson."

She nodded. "Even to our people that is the oldest of traditions."

I nodded and said goodbye before joining the team through the stargate. With the Unas half carried with both arms. I dropped it in the gate room saying. "Pick up for our scientists. A freshly killed goa'uld possessed Unas."

Dr.Fraiser and Bonnie came in with a crash cart. I lifted it onto the cart and they rolled it into contamination while I went to get a full work up to make sure I wasn't diseased. Afterwards I joined the team for a debrief mentioning that we are responsible for rendering our assistance since we took away their only weapon to defend themselves from the goa'uld with.

The general agreed to send a squad to keep in contact with the Vikings from an off world base. After the debrief I had a private conversation with the general to mention security checks to keep our people from smuggling alien technology passed us.

He wrote it down and told me he'd bring it up with Bonnie in private as she'd be the one mostly concerned. I started my own side project while we were on break till our next mission. I altered a portable scanner to scan objects and keep their blueprints saved in its memory until it's transferred to a computer.

I had it patented and made a decent penny when I proposed each team carry them. Obviously we would still ask for permission before we scan our ally's tech, but enemies were fair game. I received a recommendation for full bird Colonel. My contributions to our efforts were seriously noticed with that and I was now being looked at for the youngest Brigadier General alive.

Our next mission came up when Daniel was showing Jack and I an old video of the first test of the gate. I left not long after it finished to prepare. By the time General Hammond called a meeting, I had a camera and recorder ready to go with enough memory cards to record a months worth of work.

I packed it onto the M.U.L.E. And we set off with Cathrine Langford and Bonnie joining us. As soon as we arrived, I sent out a quite but very powerful spell to repair the foundation of the building. Cracks in the ceiling repaired themselves as well while no one was looking.

Now it would take a lot more than one storm to bring it all down. I reinforced the supports with a spell that turned them all into steel on the inside. The only damaged parts were the prices lying around and the aesthetics. When Ernest Littlefield came into the room naked, I couldn't help but chuckle and pass him a standard SGC suit.

I smiled. "Greetings from earth Ernest, we came to pull you out of this place and back home."

He felt my hand as I passed the clothes to him. He went for a hug and I pulled Dr.Jackson In front of me saying. "Let's wait for hugs until you're not bare assed. By the way, we brought a friend."

I waved a hand towards Catherine and he nearly dropped his clothes. I ignored them and went to the DHD. I started fixing it and putting all the crystals back into place. Ernest spoke up when he noticed me. "It was like that when I got here."

I chuckled. "Good thing we know how to fix it then."

As I said that, I put the last crystal back into place and it came alive. "Ladies and gentlemen, we have power. Now that our way home is secure, why don't we split up and map out this place."

Ernest led Bonnie and Carter with Dr.Jackson to the room where he slept and I explored with Jack and Teal'c. I scanned each room and slowly a map was made on the scanners screen. When we finished exploring, we found the rest of the team in the meeting place of the four races.

I passed Bonnie a camera and we took pictures of the walls and recorded everything. When we were done, I went over to the central podium that Ernest called a book and scanned it. When I found it wasn't bolted to the floor, I turned to Teal'c and Jack. "Looks like we're bringing this back with us. If it's a book, it can be useful later. Carter, bring the M.U.L.E. down here. We'll load it up and head home. Anything else will have to wait till another team is sent. The foundation on this place is a little warn, but solid so it'll hold for a time I'm sure."

We got to work and Daniel helped Ernest pack up his notes and books. An hour later we dialed Command and went through victorious. Not only did we bring back one of our own, but we brought back a lot of knowledge as well.

The alien book in atomic particles was given a room at Heretic industries where area fifty one scientist could study it with ours. The blueprints were recorded and given to them and a map of the place we were at was recorded and copies were made for the next team that visits there.

I trained with Teal'c constantly and taught him knew forms and moves. Though he was set on the staff, we trained with Kali sticks and and hand to hand. He seemed to find it frustrating that no matter his perceived physical advantage, he could not win against me.

He, at one point, said it reminded him of his day's training under his old mentor master Bra'tac. I chuckled and he seemed to warm up to me with each spar. After each spar we chatted about his life as a first prime and the good parts of his life, like his wife and son he let slip one evening.

I promised him if I got the chance, I'd help him take them away from goa'uld territory and send them to somewhere safe, like the Mongolian world or the world of the untouched. He seemed to like the idea a great deal.

One evening he brought it up to O'Neill and the team, who brought it to general Hammond. When they were proposing the mission I spoke up. "General, I'm willing to take on this mission alone. You've read my record on retrieval missions like this in hostile territory. If Teal'c is willing to provide me with an image or someone who knows his son's features, I can get in and retrieve them and a few goa'uld larva and get out before anyone takes notice of me."

He nodded. "I'm inclined to approve this mission on your recommendation and willingness to take it. Though I'll give you leeway to neutralize any hostiles that become aware of your presence there."

I nodded. "I'll leave in an hour from now. Teal'c, I need a picture or a name of someone that can point me to your son and wife."

He frowned but sighed. "Very well. Master Bra'tac will be on planet and he would know what they look like."

I nodded and left to get ready. I took two pistols with silencers and a M16 with armor piercing rounds and a silencer. I grabbed my trusty trench knives and that was it. I headed to the gate room after informing Bonnie of my plans.

I arrived on Chulak in all black clothes and as soon as the gate shut down, I made myself invisible and sent out my power searching for Bra'tac. When I found him near Teal'c's burnt down house, I teleported behind him and dropped the spell before putting a gun to the back of his head and a knife at his throat.

"Drop your weapons Jaffa or I'll be forced to end you and your service to your false god."

He did so and twisted to the side like a snake and lunged blindly for my body. To bad for him I wasn't there anymore. I appeared at his opposite side as he struck my previous position. I chuckled. "You must be Bra'tac with moves like that. Teal'c takes after your style of fighting."

I put my weapons away when he noticed me. "My name is Alexander Mikaelson. I'm here on a retrieval mission for Teal'c's wife and son. He wanted to come but on missions like this, I work alone in case I have to commit a slaughter or burn a city to the ground."

He looked stunned then sighed. "I knew Teal'c would not abandon his son. From the look of you, you are a warrior, yes?"

I nodded. "I'm a Colonel in the army of my world. Similar to your elite Jaffa in rank, though my skills surpass even Teal'c. My leader accepted Teal'c's request and he sent me. My specialty is retrieving people and things from behind enemy lines."

He nodded. "Then you are of much use here."

I chuckled. "Alright, I need to know what Rya'c and his mother look like and I'll retrieve them. Teal'c has no picture or image of them with him so he mentioned you might be willing to help."

He nodded and led me into the burnt building and pulled out a picture of them. I took one look before nodding. "I'll take it from here."

As I left him there, I sent a small but very powerful healing spell to him. Physically he seemed to grow stronger while appearance wise he looked a decade younger. When I stepped back into the forest, where he did not follow, I teleported towards the boy.

I arrived during the ritual. I killed the priest and put the goa'uld into the boy before knocking him out. I tossed him over my shoulder and when the mother came in I knocked her out as well. I took her and the boy into the vault and teleported to the holding tanks for the goa'uld larva. I took a few into an inflatable cooler with the water from the tank.

When I had enough, I destroyed it and reached out with my power, destroying every tank like it on Chulak. I teleported close to the stargate before killing all the priests there and dialing back home. After I put in the ID code, I took out the boy and his mother and carried them with the cooler into the stargate. All in all it took me two hours to complete.

When I walked through, I passed them off to the doctors. "I knocked them out to take away the risk of them alerting others and I had to neutralize a few priests. I also destroyed a couple tanks of goa'uld on my way out with six larva. The kid was dying so I put the goa'uld into him to keep him alive. Whatever the ceremony did to him, it seemed to take away his immune system."

I passed the cooler off to Carter. "Careful, there are six in there. I don't exactly know when they're strong enough to take over human bodies."

She nodded and they put the cooler in a bullet proof glass container. I debriefed and got a physical along with an x-ray to make sure I wasn't a goa'uld spy. When it was done, I sat in on the conversation Teal'c had with his wife on joining a safe planet where the goa'uld do not go.

After some arguing, she agreed and she left the next day with Rya'c to the untouched.

I spent the next week studying Omoroca. I even told Daniel that she could've been apart of an alien races that visited earth over the years. I even pointed out the name of that race must've been the Ohne. He supposed that Belus must've been a goa'uld.

When our mission came up,we arrived on a coast and Daniel pointed out the bubbling water. The Ohne walked around us before putting its hand on Teal'c's stomach then backed away and wrote in the sand. When Dr.Jackson wrote his reply saying it was In cuneiform the Ohne knocked the team out.

I stood standing and sighed. "I'm aware of why you're doing this. I will answer your question, but you mustn't harm them."

I growled. "You are not one of them!"

I shook my head. "I am an old being, one who has lived since long before the goa'uld came to power. Your mate, Omoroca, was struck down by the goa'uld Belus. She died a long time ago. These humans had nothing to do with it. They are innocent and they fight the goa'uld now. They've even turned this once first prime Jaffa on his own god. They are doing good and I will not allow you to harm them. Now I will give you an option, you will not tell them of me, or I will be forced to erase your memory of this conversation."

He roared in his agony before replying. "Why do you hide from them?"

I waved to the teams bodies. "I am one of two of my kind that are helping them grow older and wiser. I cannot allow them to know I am helping them or others of their people will try and turn against our wisdom."

After he agreed, I payed down and made it seem as if I passed out. The alien creature waited and I sent a waking spell to the group. They all started to wake up and I pretended to do the same.

The alien kept my secret and apologized because he reacted badly to the Jaffa presence and thought we couldn't be trusted. It agreed on a possible alliance some day and spoke to Daniel about Belus and Omoroca. Eventually, we left knowing we met a possible future ally.

We reported it in and everything was back on track. A week later a Egyptian sarcophagus showed up and Bonnie had it immediately shipped out to Heretic Industries. The command had a scan of it and blueprints on file now as well. When Hathor showed up an hour after it was shipped out, I avoided letting any of the guys near her. Bonnie warned Carter of her possible abilities as a female goa'uld.

When Daniel went to untie her, I stopped him and we backed away. I held up my scanner saying. "She's hiding goa'uld tech on her, we can't risk getting to close. I suggest if she wants a peaceful resolution that she be given a strip search by our female staff to remove the technology. It seams to be harmful to others though I cannot tell exactly what it is."

General Hammond seemed to agree now that I proved my words by showing the scans. He had us pull back and Bonnie, Carter and Dr.Fraiser went into the room this time to get the devices she had hidden on her.

When they came out with a device I recognized as the one that makes Jaffa pouches I spoke. "Perhaps Teal'c will know it's exact usage. Until then I recommend we lock her up behind a six inch thick bullet prof glass cell and only allow our female officers near her. I've a feeling she could be dangerous as she's the first female goa'uld we've come across so far."

General Hammond agreed and gave the order. A few minutes later all men were removed from that building level and Hathor was escorted kicking and screaming to a cell with no way out by Carter and several female airmen. Eventually Teal'c arrived and identified the artifact as a Jaffa maker and pointed out that if Hathor had that, she must be a goa'uld queen.

She was moved off world in a glass box to a black site on the sun intense planet we acquired the radiation shield technology. A few days later we were sent to join SG-4 to a planet that had a telescope up that we'd get to view and study a singularity with. Bonnie came along this time as well.

When he came across a diseased dead body, we went back to base for quarantine and came back after the all clear with hazmat suits on. Teal'c was safe because of his symbiote but the rest of us wore hazmat suits to be on the safe side.

After we viewed most of the village, Bonnie and Carter found a little girl still alive. I felt Bonnie do a little magic to fix the girls problems and remove any chance of her body producing bombs inside.

The girl passed out and we took her back to base. After she was given a clean bill of health, we went back to the planet to clean up and find out what happened. Jack and Teal'c went to the observatory while I went into the forest before 'finding' a hidden facility where the goa'uld did its experiments.

I scanned everything and made notes on it all before leaving as if I'd never found it. When a bunch of death gliders arrived, I shot two down and made them land safely near the gate. My shots had killed the pilots. When everyone was through the gate, I tossed a form of notice me not spell on the gliders.

Our debriefing was eventful as ever. Jack mentioned a goa'uld mother ship near the planet. I chuckled. "I've got you beat this time. I found a hidden underground facility that looks like a goa'uld lab of some kind. I scanned everything and took notes before leaving it untouched in case they come back for it. They won't know we know of it's existence. I also shot down two death glider and they landed near the gate. With any luck, they won't care about them and we can get them piece by piece later. This could give us a chance to build our own versions of space worthy jets."

You could hear a pin drop on carpet now. After I finished my report the general excused himself after saying I made a possibly great contribution to the SGC and our world. Over the next week, a few teams went through and retrieved the gliders by cutting them into manageable chunks and bringing them through.

After the last one was through, I was given a recommendation for promotion by the general himself. The ceremony was performed in the gate room one evening and I became a full bird Colonel. I celebrated with the team as Jack joined me with his own promotion. Carter went from Captain to Major as well.

We went out for drinks that night. Bonnie came with us and I proposed to her over martini's and beer. She said yes and we celebrated even more. The team congratulated us while we celebrated our engagement.

We were sent out the next day on a new mission to check out a world that seemed to be primitive. The villagers hid themselves and I backed away into the shadows. When they surrounded the team and held weapons on them, I came out of the shadows and disarmed them. I broke their crossbows and threw a knife into another one that was aimed at my team from the doorway.

I moved like the wind and I moments the villagers were disarmed and on the ground. Jack spoke up. "We are not your enemies. We came here in peace as explorers and possibly ally's. If we were your enemies you'd all be dead by now, trust me he was going easy on you all. I've seen him do far worse to far more people than you in less time than this."

I stood at the back after retrieving my knives. When the villagers stood up they all had a look of fear and awe on their faces when they looked my way. One of the males spoke and pointed at Teal'c. "You say you're not our enemies but you bring one who is among you."

He looked at Teal'c directly. "You murdered my father, I demand Cor-ai, justice for my fathers death at your hands. You will die today."

I snorted and appeared in front of the man with my knife at his throat. "If that is how you feel, we shall leave here with our friend, try to stop us and you'll be eating dirt again."

I pulled my knife away. "Jack, lead the team to the gate, I'll cover your withdrawal. Teal'c, you are apart of this team and under my command as it were, you are to go back to Command and there, If you so wish, you may make your statement on these matters. Do not disobey my orders or I'll knock you out and take you there myself."

He looked torn but the look of seriousness on my face made up his mind. He left with the team and the man who spoke before became angry and lunged at him, I threw him across the room into a pedestal. "I warned you before."

He sneered. "You would protect a murderer?"

I chuckled. "You would expect us to follow your laws and disregard our own because of what? That this is your land? Teal'c has not harmed a hair on your people's head while he's been with my team. I see no reason to turn him over to a corrupt law system where all you really seek is vengeance. You are bloodthirsty boy. Even if he killed your father in the service of a goa'uld, his son would be obligated to kill you as well under your laws if you killed him. Your ways are not the right way. Violence begets violence. The cycle will never end if all you do is hold on to hate."

I sighed as I headed out. "If he makes a statement, I'll contact an advanced race to be impartial judges. If your people agree, we will come back and hold a fair trial to end this possible fiasco, if he does not, then we will not return to this planet again."

On the way to the gate myself now, I sent a telepathic message to the Nox to uncover their gate so we may speak tomorrow. Knowing what Teal'c's reaction will be it was best I prepared ahead of schedule.

I stepped through the portal and it closed behind me. When I stepped out I sighed as Jack was arguing with Teal'c. "Both of you wait for the debrief. He can make his statement then. If he insists, I'll try to contact the Nox one time tomorrow before we return and request an impartial judge for the trail."

That seemed to calm them both down. Teal'c would get to confess and Jack was sure the Nox would be fair. After we did the debriefing I explained my reasoning in private to the general. "The man in question was seeking blood with his threat. We have no real knowledge what their court system is like and I wasn't about to allow a victim to outright kill a member of my team. Teal'c may have done the crime, but he's a different person now and if it's how I suspect, any one of us would do the same in his position."

General Hammond frowned. "Explain what it is that you suspect it was."

I rubbed a hand over my jaw before saying. "The proof the man accused Teal'c with was the head of a crutch. These people survive the goa'uld raids by running and fleeing. If Teal'c killed him on orders and followed through because he knew the old man was what slowed them down last time-"

General Hammond nodded in understanding. "It's damned distasteful but understandable from that logic."

I sighed. "You and I know I've done far worse on orders and I suspect you've done the same. The way the man demanded Cor'ai, I suspect he would be the judge guru and executioner. I'm not about to let that happen and we both know Jack wouldn't either. I'll try and contact the Nox to request an impartial judge since Teal'c is so determined to do so. They are pacifists that believe all life is sacred and I doubt they'd allow an execution to go through."

He nodded. "You're right, we cant be seen as influencing the trial."

The next morning I dialed the Nox home world and stepped through. I was met with several elders. I explained the situation and told them if they were the judge, I would stop my interference there. They agreed and I gave them the address to the planet we'd meet on.

I left them with high spirits and went to inform the general of my success in acquiring an impartial judge. We were sent back to the planet and now there were burning carts and several huts on fire.

We came across Jaffa searching for the people. I put my guns away and split up from the team saying. "I'll find the villagers and if they're in danger, get them out of it. You eliminate Jaffa as efficiently as possible and save the stray villagers."

Jack led the team onward and I split off and followed my senses to the hidden chamber of villagers, killing Jaffa along the way. Teal'c and the group made their way to the adults and saved them from the Jaffa there. I led the villagers to the rest of their group, killing all Jaffa that were in my path.

When we arrived, I saw Teal'c save the man accusing him of murder. As the last Jaffa fell, I sent my senses out and found no more. I spoke. "We are here for the trial or Cor'ai you wished to hold. The impartial judge will be here soon as well."

I spent the rest of the time gathering the dead Jaffa in one place and speaking to the Nox elders telepathically. I may have made the suggestion that they bring them back and drop them off on a habitable planet without a stargate. I took all their armor and weapons to be added to our supply.

When the Nox arrived, they got to work immediately, to save the dead. Jaffa and villager alike was healed. I may have helped them with the work load and made sure the Jaffa's stayed asleep. I also may have given the Jaffa a strong urge to disavow their gods and the ways of combat to become peace loving.

When I explained to the Nox that it was just an urge to try and the decision still rested with them, the elders smiled. Lay presented herself to the villagers as an impartial judge and explained what they were doing to the Jaffa. When she finished the villagers were in an uproar.

I smiled and sent the elders a suggestion. (They are very young and would be a good start for you to rejoin the outside worlds again. You won't have to share more than you're willing to, but they could benefit greatly from your wisdom and you from their mistakes.)

Anteaus nodded and they spoke among themselves now. The villager, Hanno, recanted his accusation and spoke. "I do not see the man who killed my father here today. All I see is the man who killed my father's murderer."

I smiled and Lya nodded. "You are taking a step to becoming wise young one. Perhaps both our races would benefit from sharing our wisdom. A friend once said even the wisest of us has room to grow. If your people would allow it, we would have a few of our elders stay here to teach wisdom and knowledge up to a level all your own."

Hanno nodded and the female elder of the village spoke. "We cannot protect ourselves from the goa'uld, we will not be able to protect your elders as well."

I chuckled. "Then you can all relax, while our friends, the Nox, do not believe in violence, they have found clever ways around it. Perhaps it will be them protecting your people. Either way, their technology and understanding is beyond our planets. It would be wise to seek the elders of their people for understanding and council if nothing else."

Our team said it's goodbyes and we left in peace carrying a cart of weapons and armor from the goa'uld. The general was very happy at how things turned out and even happier when he saw our haul. Twenty five sets of staff weapons and armor. Fifteen zat guns and several of their versions of sound grenades.

Our scientists had a great day as well. Since it was all military technology, area fifty-one got most of the haul for testing to figure out how to duplicate it. They also received all of the armor and headpieces.

A week of training and deciphering languages passed and we found ourselves on another mission. I'd upgraded the M.A.L.P to include a wide range sensor and scanner now. It was an upgraded version of the hand held ones we used before. When the sensors sent back a lot of blueprints to high technology, I put it in a file for deletion and had it on standby to see how I turned out.

We went to the planet half an hour later and volcanos were active all over. Ash filled the air. When I stepped through I healed those that were alive and revived those I could that hadn't been dead long. I scoured the area for all life and came back in several trips with unconscious people. Nearly thirty in all, out of the fifty-six Tollan's were alive now. We carried them through the gate tied to the M.A.L.P.

In the end the general said we did a hell of a job. We left their tech on them as a show of good faith when I pointed out that we shouldn't resort to stealing technology from potential ally's.

When we got word that their leader was awake, we went to see him. He told us we should have left them there and I pointed out. "Almost half your people were dead laying around the gate area. Even if you had backup coming to pick you up, the planet is now inhospitable. The air has become toxic and the temperatures have risen to fifteen hundred degrees. We sent the malp back through and right before it melted, it captured a picture of a stream of lava in the distance and it looked to be heading towards the dead bodies around the gate that became charcoal black. Two days from now we estimate it'll reach and bury the gate."

He seemed to be relieved when he heard that. "Then nature has done the job for us."

Daniel spoke up. "You were going to shut off the gate."

Omoc nodded. "We were going to shut it off to prevent anyone coming through and being hurt."

Carter asked. "Where are the coordinates to the new homeworld, it shouldn't be hard for us to recalibrate the gate."

Omoc shook his head. "The new home world is outside the gate system. For that we'd need a ship."

I smiled. "Then you're in luck, because we happen to have friends with space flight technology and hearts of gold."

Carter raised an eyebrow and Daniel asked. "We do?"

I nodded. "The Nox happened to show me their flying city for lack of a better term. It has space capabilities and they're happy to help those in need. I'll send them a message and they should stop by to pick up the Tollans in a couple hours."

I turned to Omoc. "Now we need to discuss the fact that we have a copy of all the technology you had near the gate when our MALP came though. It has sensors and scanners for every technology in a certain radius. It does so automatically, so don't be offended. It's to prevent disasters from happening, like say a bomb on the other side of a gate. Since you and your people are not enemies, and you probably do not wish to trade for the technology, I'll delete the files or pass them to you."

He looked startled. "Your people aren't advanced enough to have that sort of technology."

I chuckled. "I figured it out by studying a goa'uld radiation shield and an Asgard artifact. I built it myself and it works like a charm. We even have hand held versions. We're explorers and enemies of the goa'uld, you may not wish to share technology with us, but we can still find or take it from our enemies. Of which, you don't qualify, so here."

I handed him the usb of all his peoples technology files away, blueprints and all. He was stunned further I sighed. "I'm not exactly clear on your history with giving out technology, but I do know that all people are different. Whether they are the same race or even a different species. Sentient being each make their own choices. Assuming they are all the same is either ignorance or prideful foolishness. We do not steal technology from friends or ally's. So far, you and your people haven't done any harm to us, so I see no reason not to give it back to you."

I walked away while he looked deep in thought. An hour later I sent a stargate message to the Nox asking them to help an advanced race of people get to their home world. I gave them the details I knew and they agreed.

Five minutes after I sent the message, Lya of the Nox came through the gate. I led her to meet the Tollans. I introduced them and left them to talk. Fifteen minutes later they gathered in the gate room. I saw Lya's smile and I told her I'd invite her for my marriage to Bonnie as the humans thought it was.

She offered it to be held on Gaia, her home planet. I nodded and watched her leave with the Tollans. I spent the next week working with Bonnie, launching satellites with my newest scanners. Once they were in place, we could find most technology that wasn't shielded by energy barriers.

It was strong enough to penetrate to the Atlantian outpost and accurate enough to pinpoint the location of a goa'uld anywhere on earth. Once we had it operating, we would reveal it to the SGC as a side project that would spit out helpful results.

When my next mission came up, we walked into an ambush. I sent the team ahead and started taking out the Jaffa at an impossible pace. I saw the gate disconnect and I gave in to the instincts of the wolf. By the next day when the MALP came through again, I was standing next to it covered in Jaffa blood. Their bodies were piled up in a small mountain next to the gate as well.

I'd killed over two hundred Jaffa warriors. I turned on my radio. "General, it's good to hear from you. I need a pick for weapons and armor. After the team left, the Jaffa cut me off from escaping so I had to reenact Bosnia all over again."

He sounded concerned. "Colonel O'Neill and Major Carter aren't with you?"

I shook my head. "They went through the gate taking fire and the gate flickered for a moment before turning off. If they're not with you, then odds are there's another gate on earth. Tell Bonnie to activate project Skyfall. It's a side project we were working on to discover any other alien technology on earth. My scanners were powered up and put on satellites, if there's another gate on earth, it'll find it."

He agreed and told me to hold tight while he sent several teams through. While he was doing that, I got busy removing weapons and armor into piles. When the teams came through with a MULE, I pointed to everything. "Bury the bodies, the valuables can be taken back. I'll head back first to get a shower and help look for the rest of my team."

I dialed out and sent my code before walking through. I went and showered before debriefing and flying out to the arctic to find Jack and Sam. Once we were there, it took me all of ten minutes to find and open the cave wide enough to walk into.

The reason was simple, I brought a flamethrower. While a timed team evacuated them, I made a large opening above the gate to remove it in a bit. A jumbo jet was on its way to take it out after everything was ready.

I melted the ice around the DHD and the dead Jaffa as well. Teams started coming in to remove everything. I chuckled and let them at it.
