The next couple weeks passed by rather quickly while I studied the magic of this world and bought the properties next to mine. Construction workers were coming and going, expanding to one side of the building to connect them while the bronze was also being remodeled.
I spent most of the time reading and taking notes on the differences in magic I'd found. The group stopped by a lot more often now that the bronze was closed. They kept me informed on their escapades. One evening Xander came in with Cordelia saying he'd cast a spell that was effecting all the woman and Buffy had been tuned into a rat.
He handed me the locket and I broke the spell easily enough. Then I did a locator spell and found rat Buffy in the basement of the school. I picked her up and drained the spell keeping her in rat form. A surprise to us both that she transformed back naked in my arms.
She frowned and covered her body. "You can put me down now."
I chuckled and did so. "Relax, I've no more attraction to you than you do Xander now."
I took off my coat and handed it to her. "If you'd like I can teleport you home so you don't have to go streaking across the school."
She blushed in embarrassment and covered herself with it. "I think I'll take you up on that, thanks."
I nodded and put a hand on her shoulder and teleported. I left her in her bedroom and went back to the Magic Box. Xander was having an argument with Cordelia that ended in them making out. I grabbed a book and continued where I left off.
Buffy arrived an hour later and handed me my coat back. "Thanks for that by the way."
I shrugged. "Think nothing of it."
She furrowed her brows. "Do you really not find me attractive?"
I chuckled. "No, not really. I only have one girl in my heart and I've spent all my time since Drusilla's vision or whatever, trying to get back to her. Before that I'd spent billions of years trying and failing to die because I couldn't envision life without her. So no, your body or soul holds no attractiveness for me."
She smiled a little. "That's sweet I guess. I think I get it."
I nodded. "Unfortunately for us, the ones we love cannot love cannot be there to love us back. Yours because of the curse and mine because of a curse. The difference I can see is mine has a way around it with time. Yours seems rather permanent. Perhaps it's you that should be reading these books for a solution."
She sighed. "Perhaps you're right. Any suggestions?"
I shook my head. "I've not dived into the demonic side of this magic yet. Take your pick."
She grabbed a book from the pile I'd split up. The next day I received the shipments for the totems and spent the day ordering more. They opened up the portal and I gave them a full hundred thousand tons of gold and an entire storage crate of diamond and precious gems.
It became a continuous thing now. I sent out massive repeated orders from the Magic Box for more supplies as well. I set to work that evening and completed another five hundred totems at my full speed. I changed to leather armors spells so that it drew magic from everything else but me and filled the totems up as well, then I put it on.
I connected all the totems to my blood and soul so that I could draw power from them directly. I still couldn't draw the full power before my body gave out but once my body absorbs the blood of a god or in this case, goddess, I'll be on a whole new level.
I ran out of materials after those five hundred so I went back to the magic studying. Another two weeks passed without incident until a flu swept through town. A lot of people got sick including Buffy. I kept my nose in the books and read through half the newer books I'd bought. I sent a request to Wolfram and Hart for every magical text they could find and promised to return them as soon as I'd read them.
They sent Lyndsey with a single book that was uniquely like my old grimoire. All you had to do was tell it what you wanted and it would become that book or scroll. Lyndsey was forced to wait around and bring it back when I was done. I gave him my room to relax in for the duration. Not even he was aloud to read the book he brought as it was for heads of departments eyes only.
Buffy and the scoobies sent word that she found a demon in the hospital and I told them Oz could handle it. His wolf eyes and senses could find it and kill it. The next day they called me to say he ate parts of it after him and Buffy killed it together.
I chuckled and told them he'd be alright. It's nutritious for our kind and it will help him adapt to the hunt better. I continued my routine with magic and totem building for another month as time continued on-words.
Xander called about a spirit problem and I told him to leave it to Willow. She'd take care of it with all the knowledge of both worlds she'd takin in. After they handled it a fish problem with the swim team popped up and the swim coach was eaten. The fish swim team was set free in the ocean and everything was back to sane.
One day Giles called me up about a demonic exhibit and I finally put the books down. I pulled a million in cash together and met him at the exhibit with his friend. His friend asked about me and I handed him the duffel bag of cash. "Take your friends for a walk. The exhibit crumbled to dust when one of the technicians tabbed on it to hard."
He looked at the pile of cash then turned to his team. "I'm sorry people, it seems the exhibit was a loss. It cracked and crumbled from an unfortunate lab accident. Let's go for lunch."
They left and I pulled the door off the tomb. Giles watched and when he saw what was inside, he whispered. "Dear lord. It's Acathla."
I smirked. "You mean it was Acathla."
I grabbed the demons statue and activated my curse as best I could. It was slow and unsteady but the demon eventually ran out juice and crumbled. I put the magic into the ring and filled up a few totems. I picked up the sword and passed it to Giles. "Congrats. You now own a holy sword."
I waved a hand and the tomb turned to dust with the demon. We walked out and he headed to the school library while I headed home to continue my magic studies. A couple days later they showed up at the shop to inform me Drusilla and Spike left town after killing Kendra, another slayer.
The school year ended and luckily for me the Mystic Grill was officially open. It was a fusion of the Bronze and the grill from my world. It had booths and a kitchen for those that come for a meal and stay for the music and drinks. Pool tables were added in a far corner for bets and fun.
It was a hit with everyone, It saw an influx in crowds and cash. I kept the sharks away from the pool tables to ensure less fights and banned betting over twenty a game. The Magic Box was nearly finished expanding and the building next door was turned into an apartment to Giles tastes.
He moved in but stuck with the school until the end of next year to see Buffy off. Being neighbors we had morning tea together and sometimes morning scotch in my case.
The constant influx of materials caught his notice one day and he asked about them. "I'm making totems to store magic for my own power. Right now I've built nearly two thousand totems where each one would be enough to put a coven of witches on the map for years to come."
His brows furrowed. "What could you possibly need with so much power?"
I grinned. "It's for the bigger picture. With it I can do as I please. It's taking a while to gather the magic to fill them and once it's gathered I have to purify it of the hellmouth's energy but I already have nearly a hundred filled now."
His eyebrows rose. "Good lord! How many are you making?"
I shrugged. "Something in me will tell me to stop when it's enough."
He looked deeply concerned. "Enough for what?"
I chuckled. "I'm at the very peak of power in this world Giles. The only thing that could remotely put up a fight with me now is a god. They have control over a domain and I've grasped one, but my power is currently limiting itself so that I don't destroy my own body. The gods gave up their mortal flesh because it wasn't strong enough to house the power of a god. My own flesh is at the pinnacle of power as well. I'm currently waiting on a certain opportunity that Drusilla divined would come about. Once it does my body will take the next step and the magic I'm gathering will be the bases for my power. The domain I've grasped has other gods taking parts of it. When I step into the mortal god realm, I'll slaughter the other gods and take over the domain by myself. That's when I'll leave this world and hopefully be stable enough to return to my own."
He was shaking in fear. I sighed. "Relax, it won't effect your planets workings. I won't mess with the balance. Everything will continue spinning like usual, it's just when a human prays to a god from my domain, I'll be the one answering and giving them power instead."
He grabbed the scotch and started drinking it with me. "Are you sure you know what you're doing?"
I nodded. "I've spent more of my time in this form studying magic and dimensional realms than you or most living demons have been alive. I'm stuck Giles. This is the only direction I can go in short of finding a rocket and shooting myself into a star or black hole. And even then I'm not sure I could die. At least this way harms no humans and I get to go home to see my loved ones once more."
He drank and listened to my rant for a while before finally accepting that. "When you ascend, what will happen to the world around you? Surely something like that will effect this world as well."
I shook my head. "When I choose to do so, I'll leave this dimension to an annoying one I've picked out. I'll ascend thee and the dimension will most likely collapse in on me. I'll survive that, I've done it before anyway. Then I'll wage war on the gods of my domain. Once I've destroyed and consumed them all, I'll be the sole god of it. Then I'll divi up the domains jobs to those that bend knee and worship me as their god. They do the work and I finally get to rest and relax. All I'll have to do is keep an eye on the domain as a whole. It won't be hard once I've gone to a certain dimension to expand my mind."
He nodded seeming a lot calmer. "And you really hold no ill will towards humans?"
I snorted. "Ask anyone that remembers my siblings lives, they can answer that for you."
I powered us another drink and as far as I could tell, he seemed to drop the matter. The rest of the summer was rather quiet and uneventful. I hired a few more people for the Magic Box and let them run it all but my own purchases.
Buffy ended up spending the summer in LA with her dad again. She came back telling stories about fighting demons on the streets and saving kids. Of course I didn't exactly hear about them until a horde of zombies started popping up all over town.
The call I got was that her mother was in panic mode and her house was getting attacked. I teleported over and drained the mask causing problems of magic. The zombies disappeared and Buffy was forced to tell her mother the truth about her life.
I met Joyce Summers for the first time then. I took her hand and looked her in the eyes in front of everyone saying. "You'll except and understand your daughter's destiny. You'll be supportive where you can and stay away from dangerous beings whenever possible."
She started to repeat my words and I released my gaze. "There, she will come to terms with your lot in life eventually, but until then, that will keep her from dying from random demons."
Xander raised a hand. "Can you do that to anyone?"
I shook my head. "Witches are immune to it and stronger older demons can fight it. Anything stronger than me will be unaffected. But otherwise yes, though I only use it in situations like this."
They seemed relieved by my words and Xander asked. "Any chance I could get you to talk to my parents?"
I turned to him with a serious look. "You and I will talk about it later."
I turned to Joyce and offered my hand. "Alexander Mikaelson, resident immortal of this small town at your service."
When she took my hand again I smelled something familiar on her. I frowned after she introduced herself I turned to Oz. "Come here and sniff her, tell me what you smell."
He looked confused and I sighed. "Put on your ring first then smell her."
Buffy asked. "What is it?"
I waved a hand. "Let me be sure first."
Oz came over while putting on his ring. His eyes glowed gold before turning back and he sniffed her. He made a sour face and turned to me. "What the heck is that?"
I sighed. "What I thought it was. Buffy, it seems your mother has cancer. Though it's faint so I'd say it's either benign or just forming."
Oz walked away rubbing his nose. "That's faint?"
I nodded. "It gets much worse, why do you think I told them to take you to the hospital demon instead of me. My nose is a hundred times stronger than yours and I'd be sick myself if I stayed to long there."
He frowned then nodded. "I get that."
Everyone else was worried about Joyce now. Buffy asked. "Can you do anything?"
I shook my head. "Magic doesn't work like that and my form of vampirism would make it grow and send her into an eternity of agony. The love of my life's grandmother got it and I was forced to watch them both go through the process of her dying. I couldn't do a damn thing even after I flew in every first rate doctor in the world. They were helpless. Magic isn't the answer here, modern medicine is. If that doesn't work, then it's her time."
I walked out after telling Joyce. "It's been a pleasure meeting you Joyce. I want you to know if there's anything I can do to help I will. I'd see a doctor immediately if I were you."
I waved a hand and fixed the house as good as new before teleporting away. I went to the grill and drank my heart out in order to drown the old personal demons beating at me. A few day's later I was having my evening meal of whisky when a familiar face showed up.
The scoobies were gathered in a booth when Faith rolled in and went to them with Buffy at her side. I sent an invite for them to join me in the VIP section. When they all came over, Xander sighed. "You know as much as you invite us over here, you might as well make it our booth as well."
I chuckled. "The bouncer already knows to let you all in when you come, you just never do unless I send an invite."
Faith asked. "So who are you? Some big shot club owner?"
I smiled. "Something like that. The names Alexander, though I already know who you are and your story."
She sneered you don't know anything about me."
I chuckled. "Love, I know everything about you, even what chases you to town."
She went to swing at me and Buffy grabbed her arm. "You seriously don't want to do that. He's not something you want to mess with."
Faith sneered. "Oh yeah? What is he then?"
My eyes shifted and she backed up a bit. I grinned. "I'm an immortal. And I'm very well connected. That's how I'm aware of your mother and her old habits, your running away and your watchers torture and eventual death. If you want revenge for that, I'd be happy to hold him down while you have your fun. You can even make it as painful as you want, I'm sure he deserves worse then you can dish out."
She looked gut punched. "And why would you do that?"
I shrugged. "Because I can do worse than even he imagines. But mostly because I'm bored. Eternity sucks."
She snorted and I slid her a bottle of whiskey. "On the house. Just don't go hitting up my bartender for more. You drink, it's with me here or not at my club."
She took a long draft and Buffy asked. "Are you sure that's ok?"
I sighed. "There are something's people should never see about this world. Give it a few years and you'll be drinking to. I drink because it fills a void and drowns my demons. She does it for much the same. You kids drink because it's fun, for now at least."
Faith took the bottle and began drowning her sorrows. She asked. "When are you going after him?"
I shook my head. "He's not in town yet. Give it a day or two. You had some distance between you. You can crash at my place while you're in town. I don't sleep much anymore so my rooms free."
She frowned and nodded. "Sure thing, so long as you're not trying to get in my pants."
I snorted. "I doubt I'd fit. No, if you knew how absurd that is, you'd never have mentioned it."
She smiled. "Oh, you're gay."
I chuckled and Buffy spent some time filling her in about my past. I ordered another bottle for myself and some sodas for the scoobies. Eventually she was good and tipsy so she went to dance while they talked. I turned to them. "Her past is bad. Though it could've been worse. Don't pry until she's willing to tell you herself. Just remember, she's new to town, you've just met her. It takes time for the injured to open up again."
I left them to think about it while I went to the dance floor. I pulled Faith to the side. "Tell the bouncer I said your staying at my place to sleep it off and I said to show you the way over. He'll drive you there."
I left with that and got back to readying. After kicking Lyndsey out to a Hotel. Some four hours later she showed up and I let her in. I pointed to the back. "Bedroom is in there. Make yourself at home. It has a nice shower with Jacuzzi setting tub for when you want to wash out the alcohol smell. Apartments small but nice. Goodnight."
I left to the book stacks and she stumbled to the room with her bags. I got a text from Steve, my bouncer, that she was staying in a dangerous rundown motel. I sent him a thanks in the form of a five grand bonus on his next pay check.
The next day I grabbed a shower in the gym shower and she wondered over. I wouldn't have cared but she opened the shower on me. I growled. "Go use the other one."
I shut the door as she whistled. "Damn, your ripped."
I snorted. "I've been a warrior for longer than this planet has existed. You'd be ripped to if you were the same. Go grab a shower, you smell of alcohol and sweaty men."
She snorted now. "That's what I call a good time."
I chuckled. "I'm well aware of your good times Faith."
I grabbed my towel and stepped out passed her. "If you can remember right, I'm the one who saved you from your mother's past mistakes."
She froze in place. "The what now?"
I sighed. "I was there when your mother tried to sell you to her John. I convinced your mother to quit that life and I killed her lover and every one of the ones she'd been with that favored children. If I'm correct, it was the bloodiest night in Boston since the civil war."
She looked weirded out. "You're the man in the black coat with red hands."
I nodded. "I didn't exactly make a good first impression. I was rather angry that she'd sell her own daughter and I took it out on her friend. Then I compelled her to never try something like that with you again and to quit the drugs and alcohol to become a better mother."
Faith was twisting a necklace she wore. I went behind the door and dressed while she spoke. "She was killed by her former pimp a few years later. She got me away from that life as fast as she could. My watcher found me right after her pimp beat her to death, he was coming at me and she killed him."
She opened the door. "Look, I appreciate the looking out but I can't pay you back-"
I snorted. "I did what I did because I felt like it. I don't seek nor want your appreciation girl. If you think I want payment for my own actions then you belittle them all your own. I've lived billions of years and saved more lives than you could possibly imagine. Your thanks fall in deaf ears. Just shut up and enjoy a place to stay that doesn't put your life in danger."
She actually smiled at that and slugged me on the arm. "Fair enough. Got anything to eat around here?"
I smiled pointed to the shower. "Get rid of the smell and we'll talk."
She laughed and started stripping there. I snorted and walked out, shutting the door behind me. I went back to reading for an hour and when she finally came out, I set the book down. "Hand."
She held out her hand and I teleported is to the booth in the grill. I sat down and waved my waitress over. "She eats free here. Only serve alcohol to her when I'm here and any other beverages she drinks are free."
With that out of the way, I told her. "My usual breakfast."
I waved to Faith. "Tell her your order."
She did so and when the waitress was gone she asked. "What's your usual breakfast?"
I smiled. "A rare steak and a bottle of Jack."
She laughed. "Sounds good."
I shook my head. "You had it right for yours. I can't die so the alcohol doesn't affect me like it does you."
She frowned. "What's up with that by the way? Why can't you die?"
I sighed. "I was born with a curse. Magic itself hates me. Then my mother did a spell when I was in my late twenties before my father drove a sword through my heart. The spell activated and brought me back to life as a vampire."
She tensed and I chuckled. "Relax, not the soulless crap you have in this world. But a spelled kind. The sun hurt until I grew old enough for it not to effect me. Nothing else but a single trees wood could kill me. Later in life, I did a spell of my own. I changed and altered what I was so I could be strong enough to kill my witch aunt."
She snorted. "Damn that's some family drama there. I thought my life was fucked up."
I chuckled. "We actually have something in common. Both our mothers tried to sell us. The difference is, no one was there to stop mine."
She winced and I shook my head. "She sold me to a witch friend of hers. I thank the gods she did. I hated my mother with a passion and I'm only sorry I didn't get to end the bitch with my own hands. No, her witch friend raised me like a son, while my birth mother sold the first born child of hers and every generation of our family to her sister to be used like batteries to fuel her magic until they died. I was the youngest twin of her first born child. My twin sister was sold to her sister and I wanted her back so I changed my immortality to hold enough power to kill my aunt. I succeeded, unfortunately the process killed me."
She looked confused. "Then how are you here?"
I smiled. "That's the rub, I shouldn't be here. You see, I was dead or dying I'm not sure which, but I was about to lay in the eternal darkness and sleep finally after a long life of fighting, then my niece, a miracle of magic herself cried and it reached me there. The dark void was pushed back and I was dragged into the land of the living once more. But there was a price, one I'm just now willing to pay all over again. My curse, the one I was born with became active and linked myself to the dark domain of death itself. My curse was so strong it began consuming the death domain and growing stronger. It began becoming active in my home world around my body. I was absorbing magic, and all life around me like a black hole. I couldn't stay there so I gathered my powers and punched a hole in reality around my world. When I stepped through I ended up in the very far distant past of this world."
She whistled. "Damn your life sucks."
I shrugged. "I ended up coming face to face with old ones. The oldest demons on this planet. That part of my immortality I changed made me part werewolf, vampire and witch. I turned into my wolf form and hunted down demons for billions of years. I ate a large portion of their species and killed a lot more for fun. I delved into the darkest recessives of my mind. You see, I left the love of my life behind on my world because staying would have killed her and coming with me would have probably killed her as well. So when I came here, I did what vampires from my world are want to do in overly emotional situations. I turned off my emotions and gave into the instinct of the wolf full throttle. I cut a bloody path through the ancient past and I didn't care again until humans were born on this planet. And the first emotion I got back was an unyielding rage. I slaughtered the group of humans I'd run into and their demon captures. I slaughtered and slaughtered until I thought it was out of me. But my emotions couldn't be turned back off mid step, they had to fully come on first. I ran and hid in what's now Africa and slept for centuries until I felt humans doing magic nearby. It woke me up and I found the shamans making the first slayer."
I stopped talking as the food arrived. "That's enough of story time. Let's eat."
I drank my whiskey and ate my piles of bloody steak. She looked both discussed and intrigued. She started her small talk while we ate. "So what does your wolf form look like?"
I shifted my eyes and said. "I'm a big white wolf with these eyes."
She nodded. "Know any other werewolves here?"
I smiled. "Yes and you do too."
She frowned. "Who?"
I chuckled. "Oz. Though he's not the same type of werewolf. He's this worlds version. I'm my worlds."
She snorted. "No shit? Damn, Oz doesn't look it."
I nodded. "He's quiet mostly, though don't piss off Willow or you'll have him to deal with if Willow doesn't kick your ass first."
Her eyebrows shot up. "What's she?"
I smiled. "She's a powerful witch and she has a thousand years of spells and curses to draw from. She could literally melt your brain with a look. If she got going she could slaughter vampires by the dozens with a wave of her hand."
She spit out a little of her beer. "Seriously? Damn, girls got power under that innocent look."
I chuckled. "My fault really. I've been here so long and when I saw a chaos mage doing a spell to turn people into their costumes on Halloween, I forced him to sell costumes of my siblings so I could speak to them for an hour before it was over. It's the only direct contact I've had with my reality since then. She got my older twin sisters memories out of the deal. As an apology for using her like that I gave her access to my library of magic. Now she's a badass."
She furrowed her brows. "So you've made a super witch?"
I chuckled. "And I gave Oz a ring to control his werewolf nature. He can turn anytime he wants now."
She nodded. "So you made a super witch and werewolf."
I shrugged. "Boredom gets to me after so long. Besides the loneliness of being well alone. It's why I gave Giles the apartment next to the magic shop-"
She finished. "And gave me your room. You're alone so much that it hurts enough to drink all hours of the day."
I raised my bottle. "Bravo, you're observant. I told you what I do isn't for you, I do it because I want to."
She raised an eyebrow. "And saving me?"
I shrugged. "Boredom and I was in the neighborhood."
She didn't look convinced but let it go. We delved into idol chatter about the recent past and the scoobies. I stayed and drank the day away while she danced and found a suitable male and female to entertain herself with.
As night set in I stopped drinking and she noticed. "What's wrong?"
I sighed. "Kakistos is in town. He ate a drive thru worker at the big belly burger joint just inside the city limits."
She frowned and looked a little shaken. I snorted. "Relax, I could kill him with a thought now that he's so close. We'll leave in a few minutes when he finds a place to stop at."
I waved a hand and cast a sobering spell on us both. She looked annoyed but didn't complain. After a few minutes I sensed he stopped at a warehouse and held out a hand. "Ready to get your revenge?"
She smiled weakly before taking my hand. "Hell yeah."
I teleported is to the warehouse in the middle of a meeting. I waved a hand and burst the blood vessels in all the vampire's heads. They fell to their knees screaming. I chuckled. "I'll deal with the weaklings, you can play with Kakistos."
I waved another hand and several of the vampires burst into flames. A black one with a suit managed to flee but the rest died screaming. Kakistos was still on his knees holding his head in agony. I walked up beside Faith while she beat him around.
I waved another hand and chains wrapped around his arms and legs pulling him up like he was on a rack. "He's all yours. His death can last for as long as you have the stomach for or, if you think there's been enough violence, you can end him quickly and not waist your time on him."
She frowned and while she was thinking it over I walked up and ripped his fangs out. I pulled out a leather cord and made a necklace out of them. She watched me and sighed before driving a stake through his heart. I handed her the necklace. "Hunters keep a trophy of their best game. He was a thousand years old. Probably your most significant kill yet. If you want, add more to it or burn it to forget."
She took it and after an inner debate, she put it on. I nodded. "I gave Buffy the same trophy when she killed the master. She doesn't wear hers but I'm glad you do. It's a way of showing dominance over your kills."
I held out a hand and she took it saying. "Thanks."
I grunted. "I didn't do it for you."
She smiled. "Yeah yeah, you did it because you wanted to."
I smiled and teleported us to the grill. I ordered a Long Island ice tea for us both. While we drank, I asked if she was any good at pool. She smiled. "I've got game if you want to through down some cash."
I chuckled. "Then after we get good and buzzed we'll play a few rounds. I'm sure I'm rusty, I haven't played since I came to this world."
She smirked and we started drinking. After the tea was gone we switched to tequila. Half a bottle in we played a few rounds. Her jaw dropped when I pulled out a hundred grand a game. She nearly lost the first round but started using her slayer instincts to win the next three rounds.
I stopped us there. "Four hundred grand is enough for a night thanks. You'll find the cash in front of the bedroom door when you wake up in the morning. I'll have my bouncer Steve take you shopping if that's what you want."
She nodded and we headed back to the VIP area. I gave Steve tomorrow's assignment and warned him he'd lose his job if he slept with her. He nodded knowing I'd meant it and I went back to the booth.
She perked up. "What was that about?"
I chuckled. "I gave him his assignment tomorrow. He's to take you to any store you want to go and he's not to try and sleep with you."
She frowned. "I'm not your kept woman."
I snorted. "I see you more as a little sister, thank you. It's my job to see you not knocking boots with the family staff."
She looked awkward at that. After a while she smiled. "Does that mean I own this place too?"
I shook my head. "Not a chance. You want a club or grill joint build your own."
She frowned. "I don't have enough."
I chuckled. "Then I guess you'll have to play me in pool some more later. Think of it as me getting in some sibling bonding and you get cash and the satisfaction of kicking my ass In pool."
She went quiet for a while before sighing. "I don't need a big brother."
I turned and pulled her in my arms for a hug. She struggled for a second then stopped when she felt I wasn't doing any groping. "Maybe I need a little sister. I've been on this planet so long without my family, I need something to keep me going after a while. I miss having family."
I sighed and released her and looked away after I saw the tears in her eyes. I got up. "Stay if you want, the gang will be here later I'm sure. I'm heading back to the magic shop. Steve will drive you back when you're ready."
She didn't say anything so I teleported home. I through myself into my work. I completed another three thousand totems bringing it up to six thousand. When I made the last one, I felt something click in the back of my mind. I was done with this part.
I left the vault and went to reading about magic. I called the lawyers to let them know not to send any more. I made a note to the cashier that would be showing up in the morning to cancel my orders for materials.
Some time later Faith showed up and walked up to me saying. "I don't know how to be a family. My mom died when I was a kid and my watcher became my mother figure till she too died."
I nodded. "My father killed me at my mothers request years after she sold me like common goods. My own siblings are a mess and a half as well. To say I know what it all entails would be a lie."
I held out a hand. "But I'd be more than willing to be your brother and treat you like a sister if you'd let me. After all, my family motto was 'Together, always and forever'."
She nodded and I pulled her into a hug she returned. She whispered. "Still not getting your bedroom back."
I bark out a laugh and pulled away. I asked. "Would you like to see the family vaults?"
She looked curious and nodded. "Sure, is there treasure?"
I chuckled and nodded. "Not here, lets go to the bedroom, I don't want to leave the entrance where others could pick it up and die from the spells protecting it."
I led the way and took off my ring before tossing it on the bed. I took her hand. "Now don't do anything until I have you keyed in or the defenses will kick on and I'll lose a sister."
The ring flashed and we were in a black void. I held her hand tight. "Don't let go."
She squeezed back and I waved a hand. We were now before the control crystal. I put a hand on it. After it argued a bit with me I turned to her. "It wants to test you. Pass and it'll accept you as my sister and give you full access, fail and it'll kick you out."
She looked nervous but I shook my head. "Just remember your words about willing to be my family and you'll be fine. Excellent even, half my family has tried to kill me so far."
She sighed and nodded and I had her place a hand on the crystal. I don't know what type of test it was but I could see her struggling and even crying at times. I growled my frustration and made a few choice threats if it hurt her. After fifteen minutes she opened her eyes and the crystal glowed before a necklace came out and floated in front of her.
She took it and tapped the crystal. I asked. "You alright?"
She smiled. "Five by five."
I nodded. "What did it do?"
She shook her head. "That's between me and it."
I nodded. "Alright, keep your secrets."
I waved a hand and we appeared in the treasure vault that looked like a vast room full of gold and jewels stacked to the ceiling and as vast as a sea. I waved a hand out. "Everything the light touches is your kingdom."
She smacked my arm. "Don't go all lion king on me. But damn your rich."
I shook my head. "We're rich. In my opinion this is yours as well. Use and take what you want, all I ask is you don't ever betray me."
I waved another hand and we were in a vast library. "All of my collected knowledge. Everything I've ever learned. Science, math, languages and Magic's. All that and more. Willow has a temporary connection with only this vault. It was a gift for using her and her friends to speak to my siblings for an hour. Xander got a bar of gold, Giles got expensive tea scotch, Buffy got a chest full of this worlds most famous weapons."
I waved another hand and we were in a warehouse. "All the magical artifacts and trinkets I've collected from this world. Some are dangerous and some are useful."
One last wave and we were in a vast black void full of towering crystals and a glowing formation on the ground. "This is my current center of power. Once these are full and I get the last ingredient, I'll literally become a god."
I told her all about my plans and how they were years off. When I finished I asked. "When I leave this world to return to my old one, I'd like for you to come with me."
She furrowed her brow. "But the slayer."
I shook my head. "The line will continue whether you're here or not. Buffy's here remember. Besides, once we step out of this reality, the world will see you as dead. It can feel you through dimensions but not realities. Another slayer will be called and you'll have all the fun you want there I swear. Let her be the hero here, you can live life to the fullest there with me and maybe find yourself a guy or girlfriend. Just think on it for me, please. It's still years off before then and you have plenty of time before to decide."
I told her about how the necklace worked and how she could use it in emergencies to escape or take her enemy with her to finish it off. When we left, I picked up my ring and put it on. "Get some sleep. You have a meeting with Giles in the morning about a replacement watcher."
She nodded and I left her to rest. I went back to studying magic. The next day I went to the mayor's office. I ignored the mortals and walked into his office. He was on the phone and as soon as he saw me he cut the call short. "I'll have to call you back. An old acquaintance just walked in."
He hung up saying. "What can I do for you today Mr.Beast."
I smiled and sat down. "I need a favor."
He smiled. "I'd be happy do you a favor. What, may I ask can I do for you?"
I sighed. "Faith Lehane, I've adopted her as a sister."
He nodded. "I'm aware you've grown close to the second slayer."
I chuckled. "I want the best for my little sister. So I want you to pull her school records and have her join the seniors this school year. It's only just begun and I want her to have future options for later on. If she needs caught up on schooling I will pay for whatever tutors you can find."
He grinned. "I'd be happy to take care of the younger generation. I'll even pay-"
I waved a hand. "Treat it as business on your end. I told you I don't care what your plans are when you started this town and I don't want her mixed up in them now. I'll pay for everything and so long as you make it all damn good and get rid of the records we'll get along famously. If not-"
I turned to his cabinet of demonic connections waving a hand, it caught fire. He started sweating. "Alright! I'll get it done and make it flawless. I'll destroy any evidence as well."
I waved a hand and the fire went out, the cabinet looked good as new. I stood up and offered a hand. "Pleasure doing business with you."
He shook my hand and I waved it, cleaning it and summoning a pile of gold and gems. "This should be enough for your troubles and compensation for any hard feelings. I apologize for my heavy hand but my family means a lot to me you understand."
He nodded and smiled. "I understand. I'll be sure to spread the word that she's untouchable."
I nodded. "I appreciate your good will. In return-"
I waved my hand agin and a box of Gavrok appeared. "As a thank you and a warning. Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't know. Because mayor-"
He looked at me seriously. I grinned my most bloodthirsty grin as my eyes changed. "I've killed plenty of the pure demons like you'll become. It's best you remember not to piss me off even after your ascension."
He nodded jerkily. "I'll keep that in mind."
I smiled. "Then you're going to be my second favorite demon. My first is my old friend I'm sure you've heard about from your acquaintances. You smell of some familiar demons I've met in the long past. They know what happens if you cross me."
With that I turned and started to walk away. "Have her enrolled by next week and make it legitimate."
I teleported before I reached the door and went to the grill to meet up with Faith and tell her the good news. At first she bulked and I shook my head at her reasons. "You need an education and I want you to have a chance at college Faith. I want the best for you out of life. Don't worry you'll have plenty of parties in school as well. I want you to make friends and healthy relationships that will make you smile and not that fake crap you do for others. Try it out and if all else fails just show up for attendance and you'll have a diploma at the end of the year. I'll see about giving you a knowledge memory that'll put you in college levels."
She frowned then sighed. "Fine but I'm not joining cheerleading."
I chuckled. "Deal. Just find some real people to talk to but me as well. As much as I love talking to you, I'm no girl that can relate to boy problems."
She smiled. "Alright, but you owe me. "
I nodded. "Name it, so long as it's not talking about boys I'd do just about anything for you."
She smiled more. "I want a car."
I nodded. "I'll see about getting you driving lessons. Pass them and I'll buy you any car you want no matter the price."
She laughed and we had a few beers before she went to the dance floor and I went to the magic shop. I continued my studies as days passed. Tutors were there at all hours teaching her everything and after they left I put her to sleep and shared my memories of studying those subjects.
By the end of the week she was caught ups and started driving lessons over the weekend. She squealed and hugged me when she passed the prep thanks to a few shared memories and her own effort. I scheduled her official test after the first week of school.
I kept to my studies and occasional drinks and dinner with her and she kept the boys away from the apartment. It was a simple arrangement and one she found straining without a car. The week past with only one incident being a homicidal boy on super steroids. He tried to fight Oz but that ended badly when he backhanded Willow and she cursed him into a frog.
Said frog was accidentally stepped on by Cordelia and everyone kept quiet about the apparent murder. On Friday after school Faith met me at the grill. I ordered our usual and she told me about it.
When she finished I told her. "Your test is at the dmv tomorrow at nine in the morning. Afterwards I'll take us to LA and you can pick any car you want unless you already have something in mind."
She nodded. "Sixty seven Mustang GT500E goes by Eleanor. It's my dream car."
I chuckled. "Alright. Pass the test in the morning and I'll contact the owner and buy it for you. You'll have it by Monday at the latest."
She frowned a little. "What if he doesn't want to sell?"
I snorted. "You've seen the vaults, do you think I can't meet any price? So long as its an item it has sell value."
She nodded. "I guess you're right."
I nodded. "If it's too personal I'll just have the maker build you another. I'll be adding safety spells either way. It'll be as safe as a tank for you."
She smiled at my words and we talked about her thoughts on school so far. The next morning I took her to the DMV to get tested and when she passed I made the sky light up with 'Congratulations Faith' written in northern lights.
She socked me on the arm calling it cheesy but I could tell it meant something to her. I kept my word and Sunday night Eleanor showed up at the Magic Box. I spent the rest of the night putting spells on it to protect its passengers and driver.
Come morning I even had a bow on it. When she came out for breakfast I asked her to open the shop. Two minutes later she came back in squealing and actually gave me a hug. I gave her the keys saying. "You wreck it you fix it yourself. I've the know how and I'll give that to you should you need it. It's your responsibility Faith. Take care of it and it'll take care of you. I've placed enough spells on it to ensure it could get hit my a rocket and you'd come out unscratched but it doesn't mean driving at rockets."
She smiled. "Yeah yeah, rocket metaphor. I get it. You're just looking out for me."
I grunted. "Be safe little sister."
She kissed my cheek and ran off for a drive. I saw her put the bow in the back seat and take off. Another week passed and Faith clearly spent it showing off her car from her rich brother. Quite a few guys tried to get into the VIP section to chat with her while we had family time.
I'd went into the bedroom after a shopping trip to deposit some bags of her and I couldn't help smile. She'd turned the place into hers, so when a guy got ballsy enough to step over the line and mention the room I waved the bouncer off and let him in.
Once he was in the VIP section I lit some sage then introduced my foot to his jaw. Half his teeth were lost and his jaw shattered. I bent down. "You ever try to degrade my sister like that again and I'll show you what an eternity of hell is like."
I waved a hand and his jaw was mostly fixed. I waved Steve over. "Him and his friends are banned. They try to come in again and your welcome to inform the darker elements of their homes. Check their IDs for their addressees and kick them out. See to it this one waits for an ambulance out front. I'd like the message to spread that my sister's off limits to morons."
He nodded and dragged the guy and his friends away. I waved a hand and cleaned the mess up. Faith spoke up. "Aww shucks, going all big brother on little ole me."
I chuckled. "I made a point and now you'll have to work harder for your fun. Just remember I'd kill anyone who tried to hurt you. Human or other. To me it doesn't matter, both sides have good and evil among them."
She smiled. "That's sweet I think. So who are the good demons?"
I smiled. "I know one in LA I'd be happy for you to meet. He's green and has a heart of gold."
Her brows furrowed and I chuckled. "His hearts not literally gold it's a metaphor on how good he is. He owns a club of his own and he sings Karaoke. He can read peoples destinies up to a point. Though he'd probably die if he tried to read something to powerful. I'll take you some time. I haven't been myself so it's all hearsay but my sources are Impeccable."
She nodded. "Sounds fun. I'd love to hear you sing."
I shook my head chuckling. "I'm one of those too powerful things. Him looking into my future would result in his death. Remember the part where I'm already half a step into godhood? My future is literally eternity. Most mortals can't comprehend it's true meaning and they'd go insane if they tried."
She sighed. "That means you want me to sing doesn't it?"
I nodded. "I want to see where your future lay if I hadn't met you. I'm worried I may have had a negative impact on your life."
She shook her head. "That's not possible."
I sighed. "Humor me on this please. I just want to make sure I'm doing right by you."
She gave in and agreed that when I took her she'd sing for my peace of mind. After that we began extensive training in all forms of martial arts and weapon arts. I ended up gifting her my personal armory I'd actually used in battles from my world.
One day while training she told me about the homecoming dance. I suggested she take a nice boy like Jonathan. She agreed and told me he'd already asked her. I had a good laugh and told her to have a good time. When she came out with a red dress on and ready for the dance I took several pictures before having her and Jonathan, who was in a tux stand together. I took several more pictures and sent them on their way with the camera and instructions to take more pictures.
I shifted and spent the night on a couch in the gym. When she came home and found me she laughed and took a picture. I grunted and scooted over for her to sit. She sat down and used me like a pillow while telling me about slayer fest or some what not. When I heard they thought Cordelia was her and ordered her to be unharmed she must've felt me stiffen because she asked. "Was it you that warned them away from harming me?"
I grunted and she lay down fully laughing before saying. "Thank you Alex. It feels good to have someone looking out for me."
I snorted a little and she fell asleep there. I let sleep take me too. The next day when she woke up and yawned, I snorted and started to get up. I shifted saying. "Damn woman, bad breath. You could kill an old one with it."
She smiled and slugged my shoulder saying. "Oh yeah? Why aren't you dead then?"
I chuckled and left her to her morning routine. The next week saw the band candy being sold. When Faith brought a box in I snatched I up. "Neat, cursed candy. Got any more?"
She looked worried. "It's cursed?"
I nodded. "Yup, it feels like a inhibitions curse. It's weak but if you eat enough of it, you'll temporarily return to your wildest carefree days for a time."
She looked really worried. "And what would happen if say, an entire town ate enough of it?"
I shrugged. "One big as frat party where no one cares about anything but feeling good and eating more. While it sounds good, it could be bad if vampires wanted a buffet. No one would run or stop them."
She took off after I finished saying that while calling someone on her Nokia cellphone. I yelled after her. "If you find more, let me know. It would be great at a party."
She waved a hand letting me know she heard. I continued to study the magic of this world. I'd begun in the death domain and demonic gods now. I'd finished studying the other domains and gods that lent a hand to this world and now it was time for the larger part by far.
Later that night she called me saying there was a warehouse full of it. I contacted my ring then told her to hold up the pendant. When she confirmed the warehouse of candy was empty I smiled. And told her to beat the spell out of the chaos mage.
A few minutes later she sent me a text with all the details. I replied with a thank you. She came back home a few hours later with a story about her and Buffy saving babies from a giant snake demon.
A few days later she came home telling me about her new watcher, Gwendolyn Post. I stopped reading and closed my book. "Oh? That's interesting, because as far as I'm aware the watchers council kicked her out for messing in the dark magic's."
She raised her eyebrows. "I knew she was lying."
I nodded. "Go and act normal. Do your routine hunts, I'll call Giles and have him send a council team to deal with her. Do you know what she wants?"
She sighed. "Some glove of Myhnegon thing."
I smiled. "Well, she'll be looking forever, I acquired the glove a couple years ago. It's in the 'dangerous do not touch Faith' vault. She can look all she wants, unless you or I willingly give it to her, she's not getting it."
She smiled now. "Thanks for the heads up. Do you know what it does?"
I nodded. "It uses lightning based attacks. The problem and reason your not supposed to touch it is once it's worn, it won't come off unless you cut your arm off. And if you do that, the magical lightning it uses will vaporize you as the price for wearing it."
She nodded seriously. "Got it, don't touch."
I smiled. "Get some sleep, we can deal with her in the morning."
She went to bed and I went next door to wait on Giles to get back. When he did, we had a quiet conversation that ended in a phone call over seas to the council. After they confirmed they'd be here tomorrow at the latest, I left and went to continue my studies on dark gods.
The next morning saw Faith and I training to blow off steam and get her anger out for being lied to. When we were done, I helped her up and she went to shower and change for school. That evening she came back with a smile on telling me the council took her fake ass away.
I smiled and she finished the story with her and Buffy killing the demon that was working with her. I sighed and walked over to her. "Take your shirt off."
She looked at me weirdly. "That's not exactly brother sister things to do."
I snorted not amused. "I didn't say strip. Just your shirt. I'm going to give you a protection rune. Think of it as a tattoo that has a lot of meaning."
With that she smiled and took her shirt off. She had her training bra on so it was still platonic. I put my hand over her heart and did my personal spell. The runic symbol of my family started to appear and I bit my finger before applying it fully. My blood was the catalyst that set the spell in place.
When I removed my hand, I told her. "In dangerous life threatening situations it will let you borrow some of my strength. If your ever in a bad situation yell out my first name and I'll be able to tell and teleport to you in an instant."
She nodded and I pointed to the mirror. She went over to get a good look. She commented. "Damn, looks cool too."
I chuckled. "That it does I guess. It's the family rune. It takes my feelings of you as my sister and my blood with a spell to make it. You'll be happy to know I can remove it if you don't want it later."
She shook her head. "Na, I think I like it."
I nodded. "Then be safe sister."
With that I went back to reading while she admired it in the mirror. Another week passed by and while my studies were reaching vague obscure limits of magic, Faiths own studies were proving more enlightening. She took the SATs and got back a score of fourteen twenty.
I through her a party at the grill and bought her a new wicked looking dagger that I'd remembered from my first life. She was ecstatic and partied most of the day. She mentioned noticing Willow and Xander's sneaking around together and mentioned it.
I shrugged. "They rarely head over to the magic shop or grill to visit me so I stay out of their personal lives. I'm just the guy they go to when they want something now a-days. If they ever decide differently, they'll let me know I'm sure."
She nodded and held up her hands. "Not my drama anyway. They can keep the love problems."
I chuckled. "Some day you'll have love of your own to worry about."
She smiled. "Until then, lets drink."
I drank with her for a few hours and went back to the shop. I found my employee's dead. I called the cops and sent a message to the mayor to track whichever vampire down and bring me them.
I cleaned up the mess after the cops left. They wanted to put up police tape but I told them to fuck off. I may have compelled them in my anger because they left in a hurry. I went back to the grill and drank while Faith joined me. I informed her of a vampire attack at the shop and the two dead employees.
She left not long after for patrol and to work off some steam of her own. A couple hours of drinking later, I teleported back to my now destroyed shop and when I saw Spike, Angel and Buffy standing in the remains of all my broken merchandise I growled and my eyes shifted along with my teeth.
I grabbed the two vampires by the throat and threw them out the broken window. "You both are band from here for eternity. Come back and I'll spend that eternity pulling your insides out your throats over and over again."
I waved a hand and fixed my shop back to the way it was before turning to Buffy. "You'd better have a damn good explanation for all this."
She backed away and my face turned back to normal. She sighed. "Spike's back in town and he's kidnapped Xander and Willow to do a spell for him."
I snorted. "Willow can take care of herself I believe. And my shop and it's now dead employees?"
She shrugged. "Spike killed the workers. The shop was damaged by his former vampire gang that wanted a piece of him. I needed him to tell us Willow's location."
I grabbed a map and waved a hand doing a simple locator spell with Willow's picture on the wall. When the map burned all put the locations gave it to her. "Go before I change my mind and you become an employee to replace the ones I lost in your shenanigans."
She ran out and I went to the couch to sleep it off. Calmer heads would prevail I'm sure. The next morning Faith told me about the Xander Willow kiss that seemed to piss off Oz and Cordelia until Cordelia fell through a hole and landed on some rebar through the gut.
I started a plan of my own and built a super array to draw in massive amounts of magic all at once and purify it before filling up the totems. When I heard Cordelia was getting out of the hospital I told Faith that we were going on a trip to an alternate reality.
I made us invisible and we followed Cordelia around until she made the wish, I grabbed her and pulled Faith with me as we reality warped. We ended up in school where we left and I could feel the subtle differences.
She followed me to the library and we met an alternative Giles. I held out a hand. "Names Alexander Mikaelson. We're from an alternate reality where Buffy Summers, the slayer, never came to Sunnydale. We're here to make you a deal."
He took off his glasses as Faith introduced herself as a slayer. "What deal do you propose?"
I grinned. "I'm going to siphon magic from your realities magical core. In exchange I'll wipe out all vampires in this town by night fall."
He furrowed his brows and I held up a hand. "I don't need all the magic or the core itself. It'll take a few months before it's back to full power but until then all incoming dimension Magic's will stop working so less demons and their lot."
He finally nodded. "Alright, it seems you have a deal."
I smiled and shook his hand then teleported us to the bronze. I waved a hand and every vampire in there burned and turned to dust, including the master. I pointed to the basement. "There's one vampire down there in the dungeon, but he has a soul and that puts him squarely on team you so I let him live. Give me a minute and I'll reach out and wipe the rest of the city clean of them."
I closed my eyes and felt the taint of the hellmouth. I ignored it and focused on the soulless demons of the city using the mayors barrier. He was clearly alive still but I left him alone. With a thought and power from my totems all vampires in the city burned in an instant.
I opened my eyes. "It's done. Your city is clean."
I grabbed Faith and ran at full speed around the city and to the graveyards. I collected all the magical artifacts and broke through the basement of an old vineyard for Faith. She grabbed the slayer weapon and pulled it out. I pulled her into the vaults after saying. "It's quicker if I do things from now on. Play with that inside."
I blurred and ran to the ring of Amara's location before breaking through the ground with a wave of my hand and pulling all the enchanted artifacts out with it. I smiled with a wicked idea and teleported to Wolfram and Hart before robbing them of all their occult books and magic scrolls. Then I ran to the last location, the sewers, and found the church were the master was trapped. I broke through the ground and revealed the temple where the seed of wonder was hidden.
It pulsed with magic and I set up my super array around it. It came alive and I spoke. "Relax, I'm not here to control or take you. I just need some magic then I'll hide this place again."
I dimmed and I finished the super array. It began drawing magic and filtering it before filling the totems at a rapid pace. The seed began to weaken a little and soon it dimmed more. When the last totem filled, the seed looked rather dull. I put a hand on it. "Rest for a few months and you'll be back at full strength."
It pulsed weakly and I left. I hid it s location again and sealed the church ruins up before leaving. I smiled with a mischievous idea and teleported around the world stealing all their gold and jewels as I'd done twice before.
When I was done, I teleported to the library where Giles was meeting with my Cordelia. I pulled Faith out after telling her to leave the weapon inside. She popped out and surprised the two in heated argument. I chuckled. "It's time for us to go. Remember, it's only for a few months. The hellmouth's will be inactive as well."
I grabbed the necklace Cordelia was wearing and crushed it. We were pulled back to our previous reality before the spell. I turned myself and Faith visible again and turned to Anya. "No more vengeance from you little demon. Your necklace of power was destroyed."
She looked murderous but I smiled and left with Faith. When we got back to the magic shop I told Faith of what all I took. She laughed her ass off. I showed her the vaults new inventory. She asked about the weapon and I gave her a book I picked up from Wolfram and heart.
She started reading for herself now. After a few hours she asked. "Is there another one here?"
I nodded. "That one Buffy can have eventually. This one's yours and only to be used when I deem it necessary. I don't want anyone to know about it or the other one just yet. Till then, it doesn't leave the vault. You can practice with it all you want there and even grab a few vampires to play with inside."
She nodded. "I can live with that. So, why don't you destroy all demons on this planet?"
I shrugged. "Because the power I'm saving up is for my own war with the gods later. I plan to become the sole true god of death. Or as close to it as I can manage."
She looked thoughtful. "What's after that?"
I smiled. "I go home and you make a decision to either go with me or stay here. Personally I vote you come with. We can always come back later if you miss this place."
She nodded and headed to the grill for lunch and dancing. A month passed without incident and I was currently busy cooking a Christmas dinner. I invited the whole group including the scoobies and Buffy's mom. I shut down the grill and held it there. Buffy was distracted with Angel who was seeing things.
When Giles mentioned the first evil I shifted my eyes and looked around. When I saw the shadow around him, I blurred over and added magic to my touch. I grabbed the shadow by the throat and lifted it up. "You're not supposed to move here."
I squeezed as it became visible to all with my magic pouring around it. It growled. "Neither are you! You cannot kill me without destroying this world as well."
I snorted. "Maybe not, but I can kill those that are keeping you awake."
I reached through it and forced its disciples to explode into flames at their alter. The shadow dispersed saying. "I'll be back."
I smiled. "And when you come in the flesh I'll make a meal out of you."
I turned to the crowd. "That's much better. Angel should be fine now and dinners ready."
I turned to Faith. "If you could have one wish right now, what would it be? And don't be crass."
She looked thoughtful. "Snow. What kind of Christmas would it be without snow."
I closed my eyes and channeled a single totem to change the weather. After a minute of working the weather system, I opened my eyes and smiled. "Merry Christmas Faith."
She looked at me before opening the outside door. Snow was actually falling quickly. She yelled to the others to come see. It was considerably colder outside now. I lit the fireplace and made hot cocoa and apple cider to go with the meal.
We all sat down to a big meal and I even gave Angel blood cider to try out. Oz and Willow we're back together and Cordelia was a no show so there weren't any arguments to be had.
When it ended, I fished out presents. Expensive jewelry for the ladies and I informed Giles of the new section of the library vault for demons and magic from this world. I gave Faith a retractable sword that hides itself in the sleeves.
I gave Oz a totem of Artemis I charged up with her blessings. It would allow him a full wolf form so long as it sat on his alter of her. It also took away his diseased part so he couldn't make other werewolves with a bite. I gave Angel a ring of Amara. And finally I turned to Xander. "Yours is by far the most expensive gift of everything here. It's from both Faith and myself."
She handed him a keychain saying. "The address is on the keychain. We bought it and a suv for you. The best part is we decided to offer you a part time job at the Magic Box. No fooling around, or you're out, but it's safe now. Alex here laid down a wicked non violence spell for visitors on both the shop and the grill. So no more dead employees. There's also an anti vampire spell here as Angel being the only exception."
He was in tears and I spoke u next. "All property is in a trust till you turn eighteen then it's in your name. Your parents aren't apart of it and can't touch anything without legal actions against them. The place is fully furnished and spelled against uninvited demons. Best way to know is just to step away from the door and see if they walk in without an invite. Don't be a dumb ass and get your license before you drive your suv."
He hugged Faith and I held up a hand for a shake. He took it and I whispered in his ear. "There's a bank card under the master bedroom pillow with a hundred grand on it. Might I suggest you try for a construction and engineering degree in college?"
He pulled away and I handed him a paper. "I had a friend pull strings, you're in the university of California next year. I'd take the recommendation. It's paid for till your masters degree."
Faith handed Joyce a paper of her own saying her doctors bills were all payed in full. I let go of Xander's hand and grabbed a glass raising it. "To family and friends near and far."
They cheered and we had scotch eggnog while sitting around the fire and passing out other gifts. When it was leaving time I told Angel. "I've altered the ring so it only works for you. Only you can take it off as well."
He nodded. "Thanks, for everything. I know I kind of pissed you off a while back."
I waved it off. "Consider your ban lifted. I was having a bad day because of my dead employees and I took it out on you."
I shook his hand then pulled him closer and whispered. "The ring has a one time effect of circumventing your curse. It's the best I could do. It stops working after sunrise so be sure to enjoy tonight."
He nodded as I smiled. "Well what are you waiting for? Go!"
He left in a hurry to follow Buffy home. I turned to see Faith smiling. I snorted. "Quiet you!"
She laughed. "Not saying anything."
I nodded then sighed as I sat down. "I know how it feels not to be with your love because of a curse. I figure it's the least I can do to give them one night."
She nodded. "I guess you do. Still, it's good you care."
I sighed and teleported with her to the Magic Box. We had a night cap with Giles then went to bed. She'd deemed it ok for me to sleep in the room in my wolf form because I was warm and soft. I only did so when she promised not to sleep in the buff. She got a laugh out of it and I became the equivalent of a stuffed animal.
The next morning I sent Lyndsey back with their book and made my own of all the knowledge in my library. Willow and Giles were nearly salivating but I told them to use the actual books. I needed it for my own studying.
Another week went by and the town came under the influence of demons out for a witch hunt. When they came at me, I waved a hand and killed the demons posing as children. The town went back to normal but Amy was stuck as a rat now. I could change her back but I didn't really care to. Willow wasn't well versed in this worlds magic's enough to do anything about it.
The next week had a watchers team showing up for a Tento di Cruciamentum. I told Faith all about it and pointed out after our training, if she couldn't pass it then I've failed as a brother. While she was confident, it wasn't her turn. Buffy was pissed when she learned of it and when they held the meeting to discuss it I pointed out it was banned in the eighteenth century and since until now.
When I pointed out the London chapter of the council's failures when the Spanish council before it deemed it too risky and nearly always caused the slayer death and that during the inquisition they called it inhumane, he told the council team to bugger off. They fired him on the spot.
I left the meeting only to run into the council's team. "You must be stupid if you think this is a good idea."
They fired their weapons at me and I stood there while it all bounced off. When they ran out I broke their arms and legs and stuffed them in their van before heading back in to tell Giles he needed to call the council for their pick up.
"If their lucky, they'll be able to walk again later. Right now they need someone to drive them to the hospital."
I teleported back to my place to change my bullet ridden clothes. The first week of Giles's official non watcher duties came and with it an apocalypse. When the Scooby gang stopped by minus Xander to ask for help I turned to Faith. "I've given you protections and my strength. If it's truly more than you can handle, you know to give me a holler."
With that, I turned them away. I reminded Giles he had a job here and more resources than the council of need be. He nodded and left with the group. Faith was the only one left. "Why'd you turn them down?"
I sighed. "Because this is just another of those times where they only know me when they want something. Be assured if it gets bad I'll pull everyone's asses out of the fire, but I'm clearly just another resource to them. So I'll help if you call or get into danger but till then, it's no longer on me to try and be their friends. I've done enough for them. Hell, you've done enough for them personally."
I got up and walked to the book stacks and reminded her. "Remember the house rules."
I teleported to the grill and had a few drinks as the night went on. Towards the end I heard Faith's call and teleported to the library. I pulled her away from the tentacle beast and started ripping it apart. It screamed in agony and I jumped into the hellmouth opening to kill its body.
When I jumped out the hellmouth closed and I was covered in demon blood. I waved a hand and cleaned myself up before looking over Faith and seeing her injured. I chanted a healing spell and when she was good I looked at the group. They were all injured, mostly lightly.
I waved a hand and continued the healing spell on each of them before waving it again to fix the room. I teleported out before they could say their thanks. I went to the Magic Box and smelled what I'd confirmed I'd smelled on Faith.
I went to the bedroom and turned away going to the gym after it got stronger. I grabbed a bottle of whiskey and drank while lighting scented candles. I grabbed a shower before crashing in the gym. Faith must've arrived some time later because she woke me up asking. "Why aren't you in wolf form on the bed instead?"
I sighed. "Because the bedroom wreaks of sex between you and Xander. Need to get new sheets. It's like shoving your face in used underwear for me. Not pleasant to any degree. Hence the scented candles and alcohol. Trying to dull the wolf senses. I left it as it was because I figured you may want him over again."
She shook her head. "Sorry about that. Heat of the moment and all. I'll toss them out if it's that hard on you."
I nodded. "It's the reason for the house rules, I don't care if you find a nice boy or just knock boots but I'm trying to avoid the smells. I've spent a long time as a wolf and it's only sharpened my senses to a higher degree. If you need it, I'll move out and buy an apartment for myself. It's harsh is all. I can tell what someone had for breakfast a week before."
She shook her head. "It's cool, I won't bring them here again. I see to the bed."
I nodded and closed my eyes saying. "And grab a shower, it's all over you. It's lingering. If it stays much longer, I might start to suspect your pregnant."
She snorted. "Not a chance, a knife fight a few months back saw to ending that possibility."
I chuckled. "Do you think my healing spells are weak sister? Cancer is the only thing I can't heal and that's because it's apart of the body itself."
She laughed. "No shit?"
I sighed. "You're not pregnant, but it is a possibility so be careful from now on."
She didn't say anything back but I felt her kiss my forehead and take the bottle of Jack away.
I drifted back off. The next few days were spent fumigating the bedroom while Faith hunted with Buffy. I got a text from her one morning saying a new watcher was in town and he looked like a younger Giles. That night I felt her drawing on my strength and got worried for a bit.
She texted me afterwords saying she was ok and not to worry. I let her be and the next day I felt it again. This time during the day. That night I felt a major draw and I heard her call. I teleported over immediately with a healing spell ready. She pointed at a man on his last breath and I chanted.
After a minute he spit out some blood and stood up. Faith whispered. "Oh thank god."
I chuckled. "Not yet sister."
I turned to her. "Are you ok or was it just an accident?"
She smiled. "Five by five. He came out of the dark while we were fighting vamps and got staked for his efforts."
The guy in question spoke. "I'm sorry about that. I was looking for the slayers. I have something to tell you. The mayor, he's going to ascend."
I chuckled. "That's where I remember you from. You're the mayor's assistant."
He nodded. "I've been working for the mayor since the previous mayor's assistant died of old age. He worked for the same mayor all his life. We've never had any other mayor since the founding of this town."
I nodded. "Yeah, lets get you back to the watchers."
I put him in a holding cell in the ring before turning to the slayers. "You can let him out when your with the watchers. Now, are you still on the hunt? I'm bored."
Faith smiled and turned to Buffy. "Backups here, lets go kill us a demon."
Buffy stopped for a moment. "Faith, you almost killed that guy!"
I snorted. "To be fair, I've killed thousands of humans. Granted that was in battle, but then, so was this. He's alive and I'll lecture her on responsibility tomorrow. For now, let's not through stones in glass houses. I know for a fact you killed a human assassin from the order of Taraka yourself, and let another burn to death in a fire."
I waved a hand towards the alley. "Shall we? Or do you want to argue about what could have been?"
Buffy shut up and looked wounded. She led the way to the warehouse with Balthazar inside. I grimaced. "That's one demon I'll not be eating. It smells foul."
I pulled two repeating crossbows out and handed them to the girls. "You two kill the vampires, I'll deal with the demon. That is unless you're bored already."
Faith shook her head. "Nah, we got this."
I looked to Buffy who looked less confident. I handed her a half dozen stakes. "Ready now? It's not like we'll loose."
She nodded solemnly. "Let's just do this and get it over with."
I smiled and kicked in the doors. They went flying off the henges at great speed and flattened two vampires to dust. I headed straight for the demon and every time it tried to stop the slayers from killing its men I interfered and sent an electric bolt at it instead.
I watched the slayers kick ass and when the vampires were all dust, I waved a hand and the light fixture above the demon's bath fell in electrocuting it to death. It gave its last warning of the mayor's ascension and we left.
I teleported is to the library. Both watchers came out and I snorted. "You're by far a crappier watcher then Giles. At least he doesn't go around declaring live demons dead and pretending otherwise."
Wesley looked confused. "Who are you?"
My eyes shifted and he backed up, crying out. "Demon!"
I snorted and Giles took off his glasses to clean them. "That would be the white wolf. I could have sworn I mentioned him in several reports. He's the one that broke the last team the council sent after they emptied their guns at him. He's an immortal on the cusp of godhood."
Wesley bit out. "We'd all thought you'd gone mad by the hellmouth's energies. None of us believed this beast was real."
That's when Faith decked him. He flew back and landed on his ass. "You don't talk about my brother like that!"
I chuckled and put a restraining hand on her shoulder. "Relax, every demon used to call me the beast. Though it's rare for humans to call me it. Speaking of humans."
I let the mayor's aid out and they had a long chat about the mayor's plans. I kept a calming hand on Faiths shoulder until she stopped being so tense. When I left her go, she took a deep breathe and whispered. "Thanks."
I nodded and turned to Wesley. "Just one more thing before I go."
I grabbed Wesley and brought him to eye level before speaking. "You will not harm Faith in any way or I'll kill you and everyone you love then burn your watchers council alive and roast marshmallows over their corpses. I may not be able to compel you do to the pitiful magic you've practiced, but I can keep my promises."
I released him and walked away. I turned to Faith. "Scary movie marathon tonight. You're bringing the pizza this time."
She smiled. "Don't forget the drinks this time."
I chuckled and teleported to the grill to load up on snacks and drinks. She'd pick up the pizza on the way home. I teleported home and got everything ready before turning into my wolf and laying on a pillow. I closed my eyes while I waited and eventually she showed up.
She set the pizza down saying. "I got grilled on responsibility in the field by both of them and spent an hour getting asked everything about you."
I snorted and shifted back, sitting upright on the couch. "The lecture you deserved. You could've killed the guy, not that I blame you. But you're fighting style is starting to resemble mine. I think it's time you learned from other less instinctual beings. People who fight with more emotions than just rage like me. I'll see about you training with Giles for a while. I fight that way because it doesn't matter to me who I kill in battle. If they're on the battlefield it's them or me, it's been that way since I was a human Viking warrior. You on the other hand fight in the shadows of a crowd where a stray human can stumble upon you at any moment. You need to adapt to the times."
She furrowed her brows. "What about you?"
I sighed. "Like I told Buffy. I've killed thousands of humans and monsters alike. I know what it means to have blood on my hands. You're still innocent of that, and I'd like you to be that way until it's no longer possible."
She sighed and plopped down next to me and put her head on my shoulder. I sighed. "Let's watch the movie and forget about tonight until tomorrow."
I started Friday the thirteenth and we watched all the cheesy movies and had a blast. Eventually, when I saw her getting tired, I shifted and became a pillow once more.
The next month flew by quickly, Faith informed me she spent five grand on the books of ascension from a demon, but other than that, it was quiet. The next event I was remotely interested in was prom. I helped her choose a golden yellow dress and took a lot of pictures of her and Jonathan.
He had asked her again and she agreed with a heartbreaking smile. When Faith mentioned hellhounds I reached out and burned all four of them alive while still in their cages. After a minute the power swirling around me vanished and my black and red eyes went back to normal.
I chuckled. "There, all hellhounds disposed of. Enjoy your prom little sister."
I took another picture of them together and sent them on their way in a limo I rented for the group. That night she came back smelling like sex and Jonathan. I took one look at her while I was in wolf form and sneezed. She frowned. "Alright, alright, I'll go shower first ya big baby."
I growled and she held up her hands. "Geez, sour much?"
I looked away and went to sleep. The truth of it was seeing her leave for prom reminded me of all the dances Bonnie and I shared. That it just reminded me of Bonnie, so I spent the rest of the night as a wolf hoping to push the memories to the back behind sons of demon killing ones.
The next week was hectic for everyone as the graduation day and the mayor's ascension was coming. Faith got her cap and gown, while I stole tons of plastic explosives along with the instructions to use it, from the military base near by. I put it all in the library vault where Faith and Willow could access it themselves and distanced myself from the Scooby gang.
The deputy mayor had pointed them to a volcanologist a week earlier and they now knew and had a plan for the mayor. I did my part in helping them with their plan because Faith asked me to.
On graduation day, I went to the school with Faith in her car. I even had chair set out next all the other family members there. I met a few of them including Willow's parents. I sat beside Joyce and asked. "How's the treatment going?"
She sighed. "Their going in for a removal in a month to take it all out."
I nodded. "Let me know when they do and I'll let you know if you're in the clear. Your scent would change."
She smiled. "Thank you, they said it would be risky if they hadn't caught it so early."
I nodded. "No problem. I'll tell you what, if they succeed, I'll toss a healing spell your way to get rid of the wait time."
She chuckled. "You're really not as bad as Buffy makes you out to be."
I sighed. "Oh? She says I'm bad?"
Joyce shook her head. "Not really bad per say, but dangerous. She made you out to be as dangerous as anything she's ever killed."
I chuckled now. "She's probably not expressing it right. I'm powerful, more powerful than most beings that walk this earth, demon or not. But I unlike them, am not evil. I'm indifferent to most things in this world. I'm just waiting until a certain event that will slow me to ascend."
She froze and I shook my head. "Not like the mayor. He wants to become a demon, I'm going to become a god. I know, I know, it sounds pretentious and preposterous, but it's true."
She frowned. "Like God, God?"
I shook my head. "That's a whole other entity entirely. What you perceive as God is a being that's made from faith in a religion. No, the god that I'll become will be like the Greek gods or the Egyptians. One who has mastered an aspect of the natural cycle of reality. My domain spans all of existence and once I war with the other gods there, I'll be the only true god of my domain. It won't effect humans, or mortals unless they pray to me or one of my own aspects."
She nodded. "I think I get it now. I'm just glad you're not evil."
I sighed. "This world has enough evil in it, I won't add to it."
She looked relieved and we watched as the mayor took over the speech. When he started to change, I did a small summoning spell on the diplomas of the Scooby gang and Faith's. I handed Buffy's to Joyce. "Stay by my side and you'll be safe."
She nodded and when the mayor finished changing Buffy yelled. "NOW!"
I waved a hand and teleported all the parents to the grill. Joyce was the only one by my side in the family section. I stayed seated. "I've done my part. Relax, it wouldn't dare hurt you if you sit there."
She frowned. "Why aren't you helping? People could die!"
I sighed. "I've helped enough. They have a good plan and I'm not in it. I got the family members to safety and now the students can fight without worry."
We watched as they put up an organized front and fought as a single unit. When the flame throwers went out, the started retreating. Vampires came at them and Xander ordered the archers to fire flaming arrows. The vampires were caught between the retreating students and Angel's army of faculty.
That fight raged on and Buffy got the mayor's attention by saying his assistant's name and running. He slid after her and I grabbed Joyce's hand and teleported is to the other side of the skirmish. "There, now watch the show."
Just as I said that the school started exploding into bits and the remains caught fire. Parts of the mayor's demon corpse flew everywhere. I called the fire department and Angel's group finished off the vampires that didn't flee when everything exploded.
Joyce yelled. "Buffy!"
I put a restraining hand on her shoulder. "Relax, it's all part of the plan. She's probably the one who hit the detonator."
After a few minutes the fire department and ambulances started showing up. The Scooby gang gathered around us and I handed out their diplomas. "I saved these for you all. I figured you'd want proof you survived high school."
I handed Faith hers last and gave her a hug. "I'm proud of you."
She hugged me back before I let go and turned to the rest. "You'll all new happy to know I bought an old frat house on the campus of UC Sunnydale for you all to live in instead of sharing dorm rooms with strangers. It's being cleaned up and repaired over the summer. I personally cleaned out the vampire nest inside."
They gave their thanks and got all excited. We went to the grill for a party on the house. The next day I sat down with Faith and made up a class schedule for her. She was taking gymnastics and psychology as her majors. I convinced her to try a few other fields like occult studies and several languages as well, on the promise that give her a language learning memory for each.
I warned her the occult studies would be different here than in my world so she'd have to actually try. After her class schedule was filled out and sent in, I took her to the fraternity house she's going to be living in soon. She picked out her room and I told the workers the changes she'd want.
While they were at it, I wrote down a list of materials used in magical protection spells and had them add it to the walls and ceiling when they replaced most of it. I made sure to have them replace all the old pipes and electrical wiring along with the heating and ventilation systems. By the time it would be finished, it would be nearly brand new.
I went to the school dean next and made sure everything was settled for Faith's coming school year here. I made several very large donations and paid for all her books in advance. Come two months from now, all she'll have to do is show up and get her ID.
I even got her a map of the campus and walked it to show her the grounds. After that, we went home where she went to bed. The next morning I called the whole Scooby gang over and presented them with plane tickets to Hawaii for a vacation.
Everyone was to go, including Giles. When he asked about the hellmouth I waved it off. "I'm staying here to watch over it. The plane leaves tomorrow morning at ten."
I turned to the new college kids. "Have all your schedules for classes done and I'll turn them in for you tomorrow. The rest of the information packets will be mailed to your homes."
Faith opted to stay and I flicked her on the forehead. "Let me handle this. I want you to go have real fun. I've already paid for everything there, you have access to more funds if you need them."
I turned to Oz. "Your band is booked at the grill. I'll see to it they just practice while your gone. You'll still get paid when you get back."
He nodded and I smiled. "Go get your schedules done and have them ready by morning. I'll be teleporting all of you to the airport when everyone's ready."
With that, I went to read and study the dark domain of death further. They dispersed and went to get packed and their schedules finished. The next morning they gathered at the Magic Box where they handed their schedules and I teleported everyone to the airport. "To get back, put everything in the vault then do the same to everyone and Faith knows the rest."
I gave her one last hug before they boarded their plane and took off. I teleported back to the shop before sending out my senses with my magic and systematically wiped out the vampires and demons of the darker nature. Angel had left town after the graduation and Spike followed with some fleeing vampires so all was fair game here.
Most other demons that survived fled town soon after my miniature apocalypse. I sat down to study for the rest of the summer and occasionally slaughter those stupid enough to return to town. Like that, the summer passed and with it, the Scooby gang returned.
One day they popped into the shop from my ring. They were tanned and smiling. They hung out for half the day telling me stories of their fun. I regaled them on the multiple mass slaughter of demons I performed and told them after the first month, they mostly got the hint.
I told them the frat house was all ready and I turned to Faith. "All your things are still here, I wanted to wait and help you pack whatever you wanted to take with you."
She nodded. "Thanks, that's a family thing right?"
I shrugged. "Don't know myself, but Joyce mentioned wanting to do it with Buffy so I figured it was. Besides, I'll get us a case of beer and we can pack till you can't stand, anything left can stay till you're done with college."
She smiled. "Sounds good."
I teleported the gang to their homes except Oz. I handed him an envelope full of cash and he left in his van. Giles sat down for some tea with us and I gave him his employment papers. His salary skyrocketed and his only job was to oversee the three employees and do orders while looking for any books I don't already have and buy them with my funds.
I gave him the source book I'd made for the library to help him and let him have full access to the vast knowledge. I didn't necessarily need it anymore as I'd mostly finished my studies of the magic and realms of power in this reality now.
He informed me of miss Calendar dumping him for sleeping with Joyce on the night of the band candy incident. We switched from tea to scotch.
Time passed and while I spoke to Giles nearly every day, and he the Scooby gang. Word slowly traveled my way. Soon enough Halloween was upon us and Anya showed up beginning Giles to save the group. He left with her while I enjoyed some sour patch kids and handed out candy to the shop visitors.
It was getting rather boring here so I went to the grill for my usual meal. The next time I even saw one of the gang was when Oz showed up asking about another ring for a werewolf girl he'd met. I sent him away telling him to have her pray to Artemis and that once she built an alter, the goddess would give her own version out in exchange for worship.
The next thing I heard on the matter is that Oz had shifted and screwed the wolf girl, then when she attacked Willow, Oz killed her and left town to find and inform other werewolves of another way. He apparently said something about it being the will of Artemis.
Towards thanksgiving, I attended a dig and a burial site was found. When the Chumash Indian spirit started killing people, I stopped it by stabbing it with its own knife. The rest of the remains weren't activated so the spirits lay dormant. Buffy hosted a thanksgiving at Giles's apartment and invited everyone. I was deemed worthy of an invite and even Spike showed up.
I noticed the tracker chip in him so I removed it and flushed it down the toilet. He wasn't to happy with me because I removed it my ripping into his back and pulling it out with force. "Suck it up, you'll heal with blood."
I grabbed a glass and bit my wrist. Blood poured into it and filled to the brim. I passed it to him as my wrist healed instantly. "There, that should heal you up."
Faith spoke up. "Wicked, I didn't even know you could bleed anymore."
I chuckled. "Just because you can't make me bleed, doesn't mean I don't have blood."
She stuck out her tongue and I sat down next to her at the table. Buffy spoke up. "That was-"
"-disturbing?" Willow finished.
I chuckled. "If you call that disturbing then you might want to stay away from most witchcraft. Blood is apart of a lot of rituals."
Spike took an experimental sip and he must've liked it because he finished it a minute later and asked. "Got any more mate? Me backs not fully healed."
I smacked him upside the head and he passed out. Giles asked. "Why couldn't you've done that earlier?"
I shrugged. "He's not my guest and I figured you liked him. Otherwise why all the chains?"
Faith smirked. "Wicked, right what's with the chains G-man? Got a bondage thing going with blonde fangs here?"
He spluttered and we all laughed. When we calmed down Buffy mentioned the initiative and soldiers. I looked at Spike again. When I turned back to them I spoke. "There's a chip in his head alright. I traced the signal to the college campus. There's an underground experimental facility that seems to be trying to make hybrid human/demon super soldiers. I'd be careful if I were you, they have one almost done. They're also dosing all their own soldiers with a super steroid to keep them going while they catch more demons."
I turned to Faith. "I don't want you taking any part of that. They harm you and I'll burn everyone in the government and army alive."
She nodded. "It's cool, I ain't into soldier boys anyway."
Thee rest of the Scooby gang weren't so cheerful anymore. I sighed. "Your psychology professor seems to be Rhône in charge and her TA is her second in command. The facility is under a frat house but I couldn't tell which one at this distance."
Buffy spoke now. "I've got a good idea which one it is now. Thanks for the heads up."
I shrugged. "Just doing aa friend a favor. Now, someone pass the stuffing before I try eating Spike instead."
That got a few laughs and lightened the mood. They soon went back to college and I didn't hear from them again until they came asking about a word of Valios. I showed them it and told them I bought it from a sorcerer a while back. Three demons showed up looking for it and I burned them alive for wrecking my shop.
I fixed the shop of course but it's the principle of the matter. The next event that hit my doorstep is when Jonathan tried casting a reality altering spell and I destroyed it when it was about to hit me. I absorbed all the magic and filtered it into a protection grid I'd been working on all over the town.
It wasn't fully operational but it did boost its power in a few sections. Now most of the residential homes were safe from violent acts and demons. A few days later Giles invited me to a small party of listeners to be his second backup guitar and singer.
We started off with blue grass then went to The Who. While we were singing behind blue eyes, some of the Scooby gang showed up. I smirked while they watched us play. Faith wolf whistled at the end and Willow and the other girls kept saying. "Wow."
I waved Giles on to take care of them and played a solo stairway to heaven cover of Led Zeppelin. When I finished, Giles waved me over. "There's some kind of haunting at the party on the campus."
I turned to the direction of the campus and felt out with my magic senses. When I found it I chuckled. "Bunch of poltergeists beings fueled by sex energy. Buffy and Riley are the battery. I'll take care of it, I'll be back in a couple minutes."
I passed him the guitar and teleported to the frat house. I drained the energy and dispersed the poltergeists into nothing before teleporting back to the real party. I handed Giles a small talisman saying. "It's all the sex energy the poltergeists were feeding on. Put this on when you're with a lady and you'll have the stamina of a slayer for one night."
He took it with a smiled and I took the guitar back. I looked at the Scooby gang. "Don't you have a party to get back to?"
Willow shook her head. "Kind of scared off the party."
I nodded. "Well, grab a seat I guess."
I turned to Giles. "Let's continue. Ignore them, this is your night."
He nodded and we went back to our stools. We played the rest of the list off. Some songs were originally by Meatloaf, The Rolling Stones, and Pink Floyd. I noticed the dreamy looks in the girls eyes and Xander's disturbed expressions.
When we were done, a gifted woman took over to give us a break. She had the voice of an angel and the guitar skills of Jimmy Hendricks. I walked over to the gang and asked. "Did you enjoy the music? Giles here insisted it was relaxing."
Giles took off his glasses to clean them. "Was I wrong?"
I chuckled. "Not in the least. Though I'll probably not do it again. I'm not exactly a good singer and my guitar skills are average at best. The gang here look bored out of their minds. I think I was holding you back there."
Terra shook her head as the first one out of the stupor. "N-no you w-were great, really."
