The one intended to protect

Marcus, a guard of a rich house, has been interested in a new game for sale called “Fantasia” because the functions were unusual for him. The system offered you three different class options tailored to your tastes or what you wanted to be. [Guardian of the capital] [Rare class]. A prestige position you will make sure that no monster or suspicious person passes the gates of the capital at any cost including your life. [This class can evolve]. [Dungeon guardian] [Rare class]. You make sure that no monster leaves the dungeon and that no adventurer passes without paying. [This class can evolve]. [Progressive guardian] [Rare class]. You will start from the bottom of a guard, but you will also be able to climb from the top of the guard job. [This class can evolve.] But the world of “Fantasia” was more than just hunting monsters, manufacturing monsters or waging great wars, you could say that it was child's play. This novel will contain several delicate issues.

Blood in the streets

Blood in the streets

I watched in surprise, this place gave me the creeps, but I saw that Jax was advancing without giving it a thought, so I followed him like a child to his father or mother.

As we advanced, the slaves were shouting "Save us!" that was one of many "Save my children!". Each one of them cried out in desperation and perhaps with a glimmer of hope.

Hope that I don't know if it was reciprocated.

Blood everywhere moans of pain, children crying with a doomed future.

Is this what we humans were like in the Middle Ages, so inhuman? We were like this with our own, why does this exist?

I followed Jax, ignoring my thoughts.

When I caught the attention of some slaves, they came towards me and grabbed my leg: "Gentleman, please come and finish this horrible! Place... please!" they shouted in desperation as more slaves grabbed my leg.

On each of my legs there were at least 10 malnourished slaves clinging to me begging for mercy, help and revenge, but I just dragged them around like mud.

I didn't care about them because I simply couldn't do anything. I saw Jax as an example, and all the slaves had some respect for him and kept their distance.

But most of them got off my leg when we got to a certain point in the city the streets were not full of blood everything was clean the screams of the slaves were getting louder and more desperate the further I went I saw two armed men approaching us I thought they were going to attack us, so I put my guard up, but they just ignored us and when I turned around I was watching them stick their guns into the slaves killing them in the process.

"Do something, please!" one of the slaves pleaded with me.

But by the time I got ready to do something they were all dead, blood had covered the street again, and now what was I to do?

I looked at Jax, he just kept walking, he had ignored everything that had happened, I followed Jax, but my legs still felt heavy.

Still I kept moving forward-looking back as other slaves picked up the corpses and cleaned up the blood like it was nothing, when I stopped looking I followed Jax again.

We arrived at another door, the guards guarding the door were the same ones who had killed the slaves, they let us pass, but first they said a few words to us.

"We are sorry for what happened before, they had never been like this before" said one of the guards. "It's okay, they are slaves, and you were doing your job" said Jax.

As I walked through the next door everything was full of brothels there were drunks you could tell the nobles by their clothing, all the brothels were full of young women courting the men walking near the brothels I saw the faces of the women, and they looked about sixteen or eighteen years old but when they saw me they said nothing only with their eyes they begged for salvation from their torment what they were doing clearly disgusted them.

But did I have a promise, even though the promise was so important to me...? I don't know...but that promise was so important not to save the people from their suffering, although I would like to do something I can only look there are too many things I am not taking into account and if I try to free the slaves here maybe the consequences of my actions will be worse for them than for me.

I am in a world where I know nothing I don't know if I am strong or weak I need to come up with a plan, but I will free these people from their suffering I promise.

Or not?

I guess I'm sorry for not updating for so long, well I've been doing some revisions to the previous chapters and fixing some pretty silly mistakes.
