Chapter 6: Dark Adventure

Demon's side

"I refuse!"

The young man rejected the idea. Smashing the plates that are lying on the table. Scattering all the food onto the ground.

The setting is a banquet celebrating the class gifting ceremony. The crowd was filled with silence because of the commotion the young man had made.

"Sit down, Klay. The crowd is looking at us," his brother, Dominic Demonic, calmly said.

Beside Klay is his childhood friend, Chloe Vampir. I was worried about Klay's reaction to the words spoken by his brother.

"Let me repeat what you just said. You want me, the great Klay Demonic, to just stay put and safely level up by killing monsters under me. Is that correct?!" Klay Demonic said with intimidating eyes. His eyes are glowing like a ruby. Staring and emitting darkness and fear to the one's looking at it.

However, Dominic is not showing any hint of fear towards his brother's intimidation.

"That is correct, and whether you like it or not, you'll follow my orders," Dominic strongly ordered.

"Stop joking around, brother."

Due to Klay's anger, he kicked the long table at the banquet. Spilling all of the food for the guests and to the ground.

"If you want to take away my freedom, then you'll have to take away my powers too!" Klay shouted.

Dominic remains unfazed by the actions of his brother.

"As we speak, the humans are aiming for your head. You and Chloe are in danger. The two of you will be the weapon we have against the humans. We can't have you die in the middle of nowhere," Dominic explained.

Klay Demonic, still not listening to his brother, raised his fist. Releasing a dark aura into it, he challenged his brother to a fight.

"Men speak through fist, not words. If you want me to listen to you, then bring me down," Klay arrogantly said to his brother.

Knowing he couldn't do anything else, Dominic slowly stood up from his chair and waved his black and red coat.

"Very well," Dominic calmly said.

The fight didn't even last a second. Klay is on the ground, and Dominic is above him. Holding Klay's right hand, Klay can't move any further.

"You, monster!" Klay yelled.

Dominic, staring down at his brother, suddenly let go of his arm. Klay slowly got up from the ground and touched his right shoulder with his left hand.

"Do as you wish." Dominic suddenly let out.

Klay, surprised by his words, was left speechless. The sudden change in his brother can't be understood by him.

The higher-ups rejected Dominic's words and are arguing with him. However, Dominic didn't even look them in the eye and just calmly said to them.

"I'll take the responsibility, whether my actions lead to downfall or greatness. I'll take responsibility for it."

"If the worst happens, we'll lose our greatest weapons against the humans! It will be the end of our kind!" One of the higher-ups has said.

Dominic, facing the direction of the higher-ups, waved his cloak.

"Strength is born from death or life situations! We don't grow from peace! We grow through wars! Locking my brother up on the castle won't make him strong, but instead he'll be a spoiled brat waiting for his food!" Dominic screamed.

"What we need is a warrior, not a prince!" Dominic added.

The crowd remains silent, with Klay looking at the back of his brother. Silently admiring his figure, standing strong, and getting into people's heads through words. Realizes how naive he has been.

"Very well, Dominic Demonic. We respect your decision. But! if something goes wrong, you must pay for it with your life," the higher-ups said.

Dominic put his right hand to his chest and bowed. "Thank you for fulfilling my selfish request."

The higher-ups walked away, leaving the demon brothers behind.

Klay slowly stood up from the ground, meeting his brother's gaze.

"Don't die now, Klay," his brother said with a smile and gave him a pat on the head.

Klay's tears filled his eyes, and he tried his best to contain them. Chloe interrupts.

"Ah! Klay, you're crying!"

Klay quickly brushed away his tears, avoiding Chloe's gaze.

"I'm not crying!" Klay screamed.

"No, you're definitely crying!" Chloe teases.

"I'm not!"

The two kept on teasing while Dominic looked at them with comforting eyes. His sister, Sherry Demonic, hugs him from the back.

"Hello brother! Long time no see!"

Appearing out of thin air is their sister, Sherry Demonic. Hearing her voice, Chloe quickly hugs her.

"I missed you, Sherry!" Chloe yells as she tighly hugs Sherry.

Sherry looks down and pinches the soft cheeks of Chloe. "I missed you too, Chloe, still cute as always."

Klay, who realized his sister was here, just gave her cold looks through his eyes. Putting his arms together and looking away.

"You're late, sister," Klay stubbornly said.

"Sorry, sweetheart, I was busy handling stuff," Sherry said with a smile.

Dominic is observing that they're still in public and intend to continue this elsewhere.

"Everyone, since we're all here today, let's continue this to my room, is that okay?" Dominic suggested.

The current location is Dominic's rooms; it's surrounded by magnificent and shining furniture. Mostly gold and dark cloth can be seen. There's also a window with beautiful scenery in view.

Sherry, Dominic, Chloe, and Klay are all gathered in the room. Klay is standing and leaning on the wall. Chloe is sitting on Dominic's bed with Sherry beside her and Dominic in the center.

"So, the rumors I heard are true? That Klay possesses not only one but all five classes?" Sherry said.

Chloe, full of energy, answered her.

"Yes, yes! It's true! And I got 3 classes, Sherry! Ain't I awesome?!"

Sherry gave a gentle smile and gave Chloe a pat on the head. She turned towards Klay and asked him a question.

"You know what this means, right, Klay? And you still insist on going on an adventure? Aren't you being stupid right now?" Sherry, who worries for the sake of her brother, says these words harshly.

"Yes, I want to see the world with my own eyes. I don't want to be a prisoner in this huge castle," Klay replied.

Sherry, with an unsatisfactory look, turned away from Klay, looking at Dominic, who allowed the freedom of her brother.

"Dominic, you do know what will happen if something happens to Klay; we will lose the balance of power. Surely the humans will take advantage of that, and it will be the end of our kind," Sherry said.

Dominic is staring at her and carefully listening to her every word. However, he had already given his word to his brother. Words that he can't take back.

"Chloe, would you mind accompanying Klay on his adventures?" Dominic turned to Chloe and spoke these words.

Chloe, full of surprises, immediately said yes, however. This suggestion triggered the anger of Sherry. Giving an aura that damaged and gave cracks in the room.

Klay rushed to Chloe's side and pulled her away from his sister.

"Not only Klay, but you'll risk the life of the future queen of vampires?! Are you crazy?!" Sherry couldn't contain her anger and yelled daggers at his brother Dominic.

In an instant, similar to what happened to Klay, Dominic appeared behind Sherry, holding her arms behind her back.

"Calm down, you crazy demon. I'll be the one who'll convince her parents," Dominic whispered to Sherry's ears.

Dominic let Sherry's arm go, and she fell to the ground. She was defeated by her brother in just a second.

Klay is on full alert, protecting Chloe, when she suddenly receives something that Dominic threw. It's a necklace with a glowing red stone.

"When something happens, say the words 'pneurva' and I'll arrive there no matter where you are," Dominic explained.

Klay holds the necklace tightly and gently puts it into Chloe's neck. Chloe blushed red at Klay's action, feeling happy about the necklace she received.

"You heard him; I'm stronger than you, so you're the priority," Klay said to Chloe.

"Okay." Chloe, avoiding his looks, looked down from embarrassment.

The next day, the two are at the gate of the castle; behind them are Demonic and Sherry, who come to say their goodbyes.

"I already convinced your father, Chloe. You two take care; be strong, okay?" Dominic assured Chloe and gave her a pat on the shoulder.

"Klay, you're not cute at all." Sherry said this and gave Klay a hug. "Take care."

Klay, who's embarrassed, pushed his sister away gently.

"I know; I'll be stronger when I get back," Klay declared.

As the two waved their goodbyes, they headed to the next path of their adventure.

With support from their loved ones, they look forward to taking on what's ahead of them.
