End of Vacations (2)

The following days were spent quite normally, I went to school early in the morning and returned home late into the night, ate with my family, and accepted a request, that was pretty much just Lucia coming.

The ranking ended with Bright Guild ending in rank 19, Black Horse Guild in rank 16, and Skysword Guild in rank 17.

The stocks for the Bright Guild and Horse Guild shot through the roof, I called Ray about it and he told me to wait and sell them after two days and that's exactly what I did.

My current balance is [10,0412,121,420 RP], 10 billion RP, while it might seem like a lot, I will probably be considered in the top 500's in terms of RP.

I don't really have any use for all this money but it is still nice to have, especially since they might be items that I would want during the Annual Round Table Auction.

Which is an event that will be happening at the end of the new year and where the Round Table will be selling some of their interesting items.

This is also one of the few events, that the protagonist can enjoy without getting attacked, but unfortunately, he couldn't get the sword that he wanted.

If I'm not wrong, Ray should be selling the orb to the elves right now and it would bring me a large amount of cash.

I also already paid George for the contract we had, and even gave him a little bonus of 200 million.

I told Mom, to buy a house in the residential place of district one but she decided against it because she liked having easy access to the market.

Oh and I also used [Truth Eyes], on both mom and Emma, mom is currently G ranked and has a potential for F rank, while Emma is our new little genius, that has a potential rank for A-.

Well, it has currently been 7 days since the end of the vacation and the days were spent quite pleasantly

Today is our first exam since the start of the academy, and it was mostly due to the vacation but we didn't really have any exams or tests during our time here.

Everyone was trying to get their last bit of studying and revising their notes, even Ciel, who was known as the smartest of the new generation.

I, of course, didn't really study as I had already read a book about everything that would be presented in today's exam.

It was exactly at 8, that the door shut open and Monica came inside with a pile of papers.

You see, the midterms and finals are both different from these exams.

The exams we are receiving right now are like the final exams we would receive back in my world.

They would be done in a strict manner, think of it as like the SAT.

The reason why everyone was so nervous even though this type of exam happened every other week in this world, was because the exams could send them to other classes if they fail them, as the class S1 is considered the elite class of this world.

We had 3 hours to complete this exam and then we could head home.

Monica made us all sit down, and then handed the papers to everyone.

"The text will start in 5 minutes, it has 100 questions and you have 3 hours to solve it, at the end of the 3 hours if you don't submit your exam, your exam will be invalid, understood?", She said in an intimidating voice.

To which all the students in the room nodded their heads, even Aso did it, that's how scary these types of exams were in this world, even though they would be considered a quiz.

The reason why the author made it like this, was to always bring in more extras whenever he wanted to kill some characters for the protagonist to see and thus increase his resolve to kill demons.

The next attack would happen during the midterms, while the announcement of the increase in defense was just the academy lying, it actually did scare the demons off.

Soon enough Monica said, "Start", and everyone in the room started to write. The exam was surprisingly easy, probably thanks to my avid reader skill but I could remember everything in my books.

I finished in 30 minutes and noticed that everyone was having a hard time, even Ciel was scratching her head at some questions, but I didn't care.

Today we only had to do the exam, meaning that if I leave early I will have more time to play with Emma, so I stood up and handed the papers to Monica, I felt the stares of all my classmates, but what do I care.

I left and instantly headed home,

[Classroom of S1]

I was currently inside the classroom and studying everything I could, as we still had 20 minutes before the start of the exam.

Yesterday, Noel and Arthur were bothering to help them study so I wasn't able to study properly.

There were other students here, some that had arrived earlier than me but are still checking their notes, and others that came after that started to study the moment they came in, so I was able to relax a little knowing that everyone else was also scared of the exam.

Arthur and Noel were also studying in silence.

Then an annoying-looking kid walked into the room, he always wears that beret hat and never bothers to interact with anyone.

But what pissed me off the most was his expression.

That annoying, relaxed expression that told everyone that he didn't care and nothing was a challenge. It was the same during our duel where he humiliated me with his telekinesis.

But what ticked me off the most was that he didn't seem to care about this exam, which could send us even a year back if we were in our upper grades. The exams are so punishing but he didn't care as always.

Monica then came into the room, she handed us the papers and explained the exam and its rules which everyone already knew.

The exam then started and after looking at the questions, I noticed that the level of the questions was way above the ones for the first-year students.

I was able to answer many of them easily but there were mostly some questions that would take me a while to understand and solve.

Then after 30 minutes from the start of the exam, I heard a thud sound coming from the back, I turned my head in that direction to see a kid walking up to miss Monica with his exam.

He handed her the ´papers and left the classroom.

"Haha, he must have given up"

"Yeah, there is no way he answered all of this"

"Yeah, he probably just gave up"

The other students began to mutter out loud, loud enough for me and everyone else in the classroom to hear but they soon shut up when Monica has them a glare for talking during the exam.

Monica then started to check the papers and I kept my eyes on her reactions. She seemed to also think that Keith had gone and given up on the exam, but the more she checked the more her eyes widened in surprise.

"As expected of someone in the library committee", She said.

I let out a sigh and focused back on my exam.

After the 2 hours and 30 minutes left in the exam had passed, I turned in my paper and thought I had failed.

I was so focused on the fact that the kid finished so fast and that Monica seemed to think his answers were good, that I couldn't even focus on my exam at the end.

Noel and Arthur came out with satisfied faces and consoled me when they saw the saddening aura around me, so we decided to head to the market and get something nice to eat as a celebration or something.

While we were on the way Arthur tried to start a conversation.

"So anyway, that kid, Keith, finished quite fast and it also seemed like Monica thought that the answers were good"

"Yeah", I said in an annoyed tone.

"But that kid, I don't know if you noticed too, Arthur, but he has probably a similar physical stat to you and he is also very smart", Noel added, she was a battle junky so she always analyzed anyone she saw.

After talking about that annoying kid and other topics we arrived at a coffee shop in the market it was expensive compared to normal cafes, but this one is supposed to be considered a notch above the others.

But.

"Sorry, we don't have any available rooms or seats as of the moment", The waitress said.

"It's ok, we will just go somewhere else", Arthur responded with a bright smile that could melt hearts.

"Ah, but there is a table for 5 that only two kids are using, I could ask them if you wish to sit with them", She said in a hurry, almost as if trying to help her favorite actor while doing her job.

"That would be great"

We then walked up to a table and what I saw made me cringe.

The kids she was referring to were Keith and a little girl.

Arthur also seemed to have noticed as he raised his hand and started to wave while shouting, "Keith!".

Keith's face also cringed and the waitress walked up to him and asked, "Excuse me, dear customer, but will mind sharing a sit with these three?"

"No, we will be leaving now, they can have the seat", He said in an indifferent tone.

Arthur tried to deny Keith from leaving but in the end, Keith won and left with the little girl.
