A handsome man walked through the gate and headed for the podium with a group of 6 people following him. The handsome man looked to be 192 centimetres in height and had a happy smile on his face. His brown hair was grown to his shoulders, Jesus had a glowing halo hovering above his head with the people behind him having the same. The people following Jesus had no issues taking their seats behind the podium with an empty chair to the side.
Jesus looked around the stadium and spread his arms wide.
"I welcome you all to this special event."
"YES!"
"WOOO!"
"AMEN!"
All sorts of different cheers were heard around the stadium. Jesus was happy to see such enthusiasm and raised both hands to create silence.
Kyle's eyes were rapidly searching Jesus all over. A ceremonial white robe, leather slippers and a short beard. Kyle wanted to be just like Jesus so he made sure to memorise every detail he could. Alicia was chatting with another female angel about parents while Hannah was fighting to not fall asleep.
Not long after Jesus and the Archangels entered, a group of young angels walked in two lines to the chairs arranged before the podium. These were the top students of Heaven Academy and the children of powerful angels.
All thirty of these students sat down and had different expressions. The female angels were talking with each other while the male angels were admiring Jesus.
"Now then...It seems we are all here...if it is alright with the Archangels I would like to start the ceremony."
A single angel stood from his seat behind Jesus and bowed slightly. He had four large wings and long black hair that covered his eyes. He was wearing a white robe with a whip of flames wrapped around his arm.
"We have no problem with your highness starting the ceremony."
"Very well."
Jesus was pleased with this as he turned to look at the angels sitting in the stadium.
"As you all know, Archangel Selaphiel had decided to step down from his position and wishes for a newer generation to take his place. I have been chosen by my father to decide on the candidates for the next Archangel seats."
{Archangel seats?}
Kyle was confused that Jesus was able to misspell a word. It was only one Archangel who had stepped down not multiple.
"Yes, if you heard me say 'Archangel seats' then know you have not heard me wrong...
my father wishes for all of us to live as a greater community with greater opportunities for the youth. One of our ideas was to allow a few more Archangels within Heaven. There will now be a total of ten Archangels which means four seats will be open.
As per usual three candidates will be chosen for a single seat and the angel with the best performance in a test will be chosen as the next Archangel. I shall pick twelve candidates today to be the candidates."
Jesus then went on to explain certain things about the roles of the Archangels within Heaven and made a few jokes. Nobody was laughing since they were all shocked.
It was always 7 Archangels why is it 10 now?
Hannah was now sitting straight, Kyle had his mouth open wide and Alicia had stopped talking with her friend to focus on Jesus.
******************
Although no angel had noticed it, Jesus was shifting his gaze around the stadium at a great speed. Multiple times his eyes fell on three particular angels and he couldn't help but smile to himself. He had finished his long speech and had stated all the relevant things that an Archangel was responsible for.
With that done, Jesus let out a short cough so as to let it be known he was now picking the candidates.
"Thank you for listening to this old man's speech and I would like to let the names of our great candidates be known!
I have chosen some angels from the Heaven Academy as well as some others. These angels shall be..."
Everybody was on the edge of their seats as they waited with bated breath.
But Jesus didn't open the scroll with the name but rather he looked in a certain direction and was pointing his finger at the highest row. He was pointing at Kyle, Alicia and Hannah with a smile as he declared.
"You three shall be the candidates for the next Archangel seat."
***************
After that shocking statement, Jesus went on to read the scroll before him and picked out nine different names. About three of them were students from the academy while the rest were angels of basic backgrounds. Not many had managed to figure out who Jesus had first pointed at but the three friends clearly knew it was them.
They could still remember that smile on Jesus' face as all air surrounding them stood still.
{You three shall be the candidates for the next Archangel seat.}
The three friends looked at each other before they heard someone behind them.
"His Majesty wishes for you to meet with him."
A large muscular battle angel had informed them of Jesus' wishes and was escorting them to a room within the stadium. They passed several other angels and corridors before they stopped before a large door. The battle angel knocked thrice before hearing someone say 'come in' from the other side. He pushed the door open and stepped back so as to let the three friends pass.
"Welcome!"
Jesus was sitting at a desk with a book in his hands. He was really calm as he inspected the three closely while closing his book.
"Probably have a few questions, so please ask them before I explain what is required of you."
None of the friends was sure of how to speak to the Prince of Heaven. Eventually, Hannah stepped up with a stoic expression.
"Your Majesty...why did you choose us? we had only attended the ceremony so as to watch you but we never intended to receive the chance to be Archangels."
Jesus nodded his head before he waved his right hand. The large door closed immediately and the room was silent before Jesus talked.
"Because I happened to see you."
It was as simple as that yet none of the friends was willing to accept such a vague answer. Jesus was in no mood to explain further and simply opened his book once more and tore three pages. He then pushed the pages across the desk to the three and asked them to write a single item they wanted.
Jesus watched their confused expressions as they each picked up a pen next to the pages. Some time passed before each of them said that they were done with their writing. They then handed Jesus their written pages and he quickly looked through.
{Kyle: A sword capable of protecting Prince Jesus.}
{Alicia: A bow capable of protecting Prince Jesus.}
{Hannah: An ability capable of protecting Prince Jesus.}
Jesus wasn't too sure of what to think as he read. He knew that these teens admired him but he didn't know they were willing to waste their wishes on him. Then again it would be odd if they didn't.
Jesus chuckled as he put the pages aside and clapped four times. The next second a small notebook appeared on the table, it's pages slightly golden in colour.
"Well now, since I have your wishes I have to grant them but I believe it would be best you know what I'm going to do to you first.
I have prepared a test which all three of you shall work together to pass. The test involves five different worlds and you are required to prevent the destruction of each of these worlds. In each world, you shall be given a maximum of five years to accomplish your test and if you fail you will still be sent to the next world to continue the test. I will be granting each of your wishes when you are transported to the first world and you can keep them until the third world where I will ask if you want another item."
"Eh?"
This was Alicia as she wasn't sure of how to react to Jesus' words. They were going to be sent to another world...to prevent its destruction?
"You need not be afraid. I will give you this notebook which shall have a list of objectives you may complete for help on your test. Now that is all and if there are any more questions speak directly to the notebook and an answer should appear on the first page. Goodbye."
The next second now of the three were able to speak since their vision immediately darkened and they lost consciousness.
"I wish you good luck."
