Chapter 96: It's Never a Good Time

Julie crawled into the tight space that was used to access the communications and sensor systems in the nose of the Kerkes because that was the hole Juan had found to hide away in. He was busying himself on finding a way to boost the signal as well as avoiding her. She scooted her way around the support beams, pipes and wires until she was side by side with him, both on their backs looking up at the basketball-sized communication broadcaster. Once there she wasn't sure what she should do or say. Juan wasn't much for yelling or cursing when he was angry at someone. Instead, he tended to bottle up his anger and let it slowly drip out in grumbles, backhanded comments and outright isolation from the person of his disgust. A few minutes of uncomfortable silence passed as she hoped he would say something, but he kept working, pretending like she wasn't there.

"I'm sorry," she finally said hoping that it would at least get the conversation started.
