Chapter 1: (Confession)

"Please go out with me!"

In the back of the school, a soft, feminine voice could be heard. It was not surprising that something like this would happen in secluded areas of the schools as it saves the person the shame if their confessions were turned down. The person being confessed to was none other than Amane Kei.

Kei is a social outcast of the school who chose to isolate himself from the other boys since the start of the first year of his high school life. No one knows the reason behind it but himself. However, even if he was a social outcast, he was still considered by the other girls to be the most handsome person in school and he would receive countless confessions which he turns down each time, which would anger the boys who were jealous of him.

"I am sorry, but I cannot go out with you…"

"Why…?"

"We barely know each other… and I am not looking to date anyone at—"

"Is there someone else?"

The girl gathered her courage to ask him that question. Up until now, Kei had never accepted any advances from anyone even though he had been relentlessly pursued by many girls. Amane grits his teeth before starting to speak again…

"Please don't make this harder than it already is… There is no one I like, there is also no reason for me to go out with someone I barely know. And even if…" Kei stopped himself from speaking any further.

"Can we at least start as friends?"

"I think it's too late for you to bring up that question… I appreciate your kindness but I think it is in the interest of everyone that we avoid each other."

The girl stood there in silence as she looked at the back of the person walking away. Kei felt guilty as he walked away, even if he was used to rejecting the approaches of so many girls, he still couldn't help but feel guilty for rejecting their kindness. Even though he was cold to almost everyone, he was still a kind-hearted person deep down.

"That's the third one this week Kei-chin. Are you ever going to settle down or is making girls cry some kind of fetish for you or something?"

When Kei entered the classroom, he was approached by none other than Saki Chihaya. Chihaya had known Kei since their first year of middle school and had been friends with him ever since. She calls herself his only friend but even she doesn't know why Kei does what he does.

"I think you of all people should know by now that I have no interests in such things."

"Look, I get that not being interested in relationships is fair and all, but isolating yourself from the entire classroom isn't exactly healthy you know?"

"And I for one am still confused as to why you still talk to me even when I distanced myself from you too."

"Well, everyone has their own reasons for what they do but… when you are ready to tell the world your reasons, the I'll be right there to be the first person to hear it!" Chihaya put her hand on his shoulder with a caring look towards Kei.

As they were having their conversation, the duo was receiving envious looks from all the girls in the class who glared at Chihaya.

"Ugh, there they go again."

"Just how shameless can that girl be? To talk to Kei-kun so casually like this."

"I wonder how she does it?"

Chihaya had long noticed all of these conversations and stares towards her were happening, but she chose to ignore it. In the beginning when all this happened, she felt disturbed and was even called out by the other girls several times in private who interrogated her, but after a while, she had gotten used to it.

While all of this was happening, a feminine figure could be seen exiting the classroom through the back door while a muscular figure followed behind her. The boy following her was known as Takeshi Keigo, the new ace of the school's baseball team and was touted as one of the stars of the school.

As Chihaya watched the girl leave the room with the boy following after he, she couldn't help but speak her mind…

"Looks like she's got it rough too huh?"
