Leaving for the Ancient Ruin

The next day arrived quickly as Deion and Bruce assembled all the resources that they would need for the upcoming mission.

Though the mission was tempting to every student in the academy, roughly 25% of the student body dropped out of the Imperial Academy to avoid the mission.

"Deion, make sure to stock up all the healing pills in the storage rings" Bruce compiled a list of items that the group would need in the mission. He had to increase the quantity of each item tremendously as Chelsey, Sophia, Edward, and Meredith were joining their group.

"Why is Sophia joining our group?" Deion asked grumpily.

Every item that he stockpiled for the trip came out of the duo's wallet. Naturally, Deion didn't like it when Bruce informed him that Sophia would be joining their group.

"Sophia is a powerful cultivator. Isn't it obvious?" Bruce replied as he polished his frying pan.

"Something fishy here…"

"Don't tell me you're trying to add her to your harem!" Deion exclaimed.

"What the hell is wrong with your head?" Bruce smacked Deion on the head with the frying pan.

"To increase our chances of survival, I agreed to let Sophia join the group"

"Did you forget that you never managed to defeat Sophia in battle?" Bruce reminded Deion of Sophia's terrifying power.

In every yearly exam, Bruce and Deion could switch between one another to fight everyone in the class except for Sophia Bennet. Everyone in the class besides Bruce was powerless against her light power.

The light power that Sophia wields can rejuvenate livings things and take away their own life span. Only those with higher cultivation than her can resist the light energy detrimental effects.

"Please don't remind me of her powers. I still have PTSD from feeling powerless when I got hit by her attack" Deion shuttered in place as he recalled his battle against Sophia.

"Now do you have anymore concern as to why Sophia is coming with us?" Bruce glanced at Deion who seemed to be having a panic attack.

"Nope, not at all" Deion said.

"Good, now we need to hurry and pack up all the food"

"If we are going to die in that crappy ruin then might as well enjoy a luxurious meal before going to hell" Bruce said with great determination.

"Wait, why are we going to hell if we die?" Deion didn't seem to quite agree with Bruce's forecast about their afterlife.

"Deion, we rob people for a living over the past 6 years. Where do you think we're going to go?" Bruce looked at his best friend like he was an idiot.

"FUCK! YOU DRAGGED ME INTO THIS!" Deion jumped onto Bruce and started choking him.

"You ungrateful bastard!" Bruce yelled back and pinned Deion down on the ground.

"You didn't seem to be showing any concern when you happily spent a fortune every day to show off in front of girls" Bruce started smacking Deion with the frying pan in anger.

"You're the smart one, you should have told me about this earlier!" Deion kicked Bruce in the stomach and fought back.

As the two bandits fought each other, Chelsey and Meredith walked in the dorm to find their boyfriends on the ground struggling against one another.

"What are you guys doing!" Meredith placed her hands on her hips and yelled at the two idiots.

"Meredith?" Bruce looked up just to see Meredith angry at him.

"Deion assaulted me out of nowhere, so I had to calm him down" Bruce tried to make himself look good.

"My ass out of nowhere! You forced me into a life of banditry!" Deion yelled out the injustice of his life.

"Forced? You were contented to rob people so don't give me that!" Bruce started to smack Deion with the frying pan once again.

"Both of you, stop it now!" Meredith yelled at the two idiots while Chelsey giggled at the entire situation.

Deion and Bruce stopped fighting each other and muttered some words before going back to packing again.

"Bruce, what is that in your hand?" Chelsey noticed a glowing golden frying pan in Bruce's hand.

"Oh, this is my new weapon for the yearly exam" Bruce caressed the frying pan and looked overly proud of himself for creating the abomination.

"You're a monster…" Chelsey also had frying pan PTSD and almost fainted when Bruce mentioned that he'll be using it at the yearly exam.

"Bruce, put that abomination away and finish packing. We have to head out to the stadium in 30 minutes" Meredith was not surprised at the frying pan because Bruce had showed it to her earlier.

"Yes ma'am" Bruce acknowledged Meredith's order and finished packing.

"Hey Deion, going to hell isn't too bad" Bruce secretly communicated with Deion through a talisman.

"Why's that?" Deion was curious about what's so good about hell.

"Think about it, if innocent girls go to heaven, then what kind of girls would go to hell?" Bruce brought up the question of the century.

The light bulb in Deion's head lit up and he began to laugh.

"Haha, you're right buddy!"

The two finished packing and headed out to the stadium with the girls. Before they reached the stadium, they were blocked by an old man.

"Hello Headmaster Steven, aren't you supposed to be at the stadium?" Bruce asked.

"I will be there momentarily. I am here to give both of you gifts from your teacher" Steven gave Deion and Bruce each a box.

"Good luck on the mission" Steven bid the group farewell and headed to the stadium.

"Bruce, what did you get?" Meredith curiously asked.

Bruce looked at Deion because he also received a box. Except that the box that Deion received was much bigger than Bruce's box.

Both opened the box at the same time and looked inside. The entire group gasped after seeing what contained inside the two boxes.

At the stadium, 1500 students arrived to accept the mission. Headmaster Steven nodded and proceeded to tell them the logistics of the mission.

"Students of the Imperial Academy, I thank you today for your bravery to accept the mission. To keep things short, you all will be split into groups of your choice."

"Weaker students should choose to band together with a strong student as leader"

"Strong students may do as they like in this mission, but I still suggest for you to form groups as cooperation will increase your chances of surviving"

"In the case that you meet the enemies on the path to the Ancient Ruin or within the Ancient Ruin. I, Steven Bocher, hereby grant you permission to kill all in your path!"

"All of you have the support of the Alliance Kingdom behind you. No need to fear anyone or any being. You guys are the elites of elites in the continent"

"Good luck to all of you and you all are hereby dismissed!"

The entire stadium went into an uproar after hearing Headmaster Steven's speech. Everyone felt confident of their strengths and all aim for the Worldly Supreme inheritance.

Deion saw Bruce in his thinking mode and asked.

"Bruce, what are you thinking about?"

"Deion, we made a fortune by robbing people in the Academy…" Bruce muttered.

"How rich would we be if we rob geniuses from the other continents?" Bruce smiled evilly.

Deion figured out what Bruce was up to and the two laughed cheerfully as they were about to get the biggest pay day of their lives.
