I thought I would die in a much more normal way. I was drowning. I wasn’t expecting death to knock on my door so soon. Perhaps, this was my destiny and today marks a death anniversary that no one will remember. It was true about what they said. Your life does flash before your eyes upon death. If life had four seasons, mine was a long winter. I sought the warmth that was never given to me. Or maybe I shut myself out of it. My inner voice was screaming: Get out of the water and prove to them who you can be! Rewrite your destiny! But I can no longer summon the strength, my body was getting weaker. If I had the chance to survive, I’d choose a different path. I won’t be that lone tree in the winter anymore. I’d show everyone in the world that they were wrong about me. A dazzling white light was the last thing I saw. This must be the tunnel of light that brings you to the afterlife… There was nothing much I treasured about this life except for my identity as Ash Knight. Goodbye Ash Knight, at least someone will remember your glory. Goodbye Lucas, the one that will forever be buried and forgotten. ------- Male character in the cover art was an image I found online, if copyrighted please let me know. ------- Transmigration doesn't take place immediately, you'll need to read on a little. ------- Thank you everyone who has read my novel. Chapter 1Prologue

I thought I would die in a much more normal way.

I was drowning. I wasn't expecting death to knock on my door so soon. Perhaps, this was my destiny and today marks a death anniversary that no one will remember.

Strangely, my body felt light. It was as if I am freed of the burdens and a life that I dreaded. The tranquility of the ocean felt peaceful.

If I had the chance to survive, I'd choose a different path. I won't be that lone tree in the winter anymore. I'd show everyone in the world that they were wrong about me.

A dazzling white light was the last thing I saw. This must be the tunnel of light that brings you to the afterlife…

There was nothing much I treasured about this life except for my identity as Ash Knight. Goodbye Ash Knight, at least someone will remember your glory. Goodbye Lucas, the one that will forever be buried and forgotten.

Author's note: To avoid potential confusion...I would like to highlight that this Prologue is not the actual beginning of the story. It's more of a teaser to what will happen. The next chapter will be the actual beginning.

Did you know that WN inflates your book views by x10? That means for one true genuine read or view you have it is inflated 10 times in fake views. Not to mention they don't protect your work from bots inflating your reads and stealing your content for pirate sites. Additionally, contracts with WN are boderline exploitative. Some big famous WN writers with millions of views (which by the way that million is not actually a million due to fake inflated views), only earn about 10-20% of the revenue they should be earning for writing thousands of words every day. And then on the reader side of the equation, WN just straight up doesn't care and readers pay insane amount of fees but only about 5% of that actually goes to the writers. And, what already is worse, get even more worse. When writers sign contracts with WN, WN takes full complete copyright and creative control of writers works and can finish the story without the writer. Enough is enough. No more can we allow writers or readers to be taken advantage of. Now is the time for change. Now is the time for another option.
