Come To Terms

Wei Chen barely managed to close the car door when his left hand suddenly got clasped by the person beside him.

He helplessly shook his head at his action. Pulling down the jacket, Fu Yue's reddened face was soon revealed.

"Hot?"

Wei Chen softly asked while reaching out his right hand to reorganize Fu Yue's messy hair.

Before stepping out, Wei Chen took off his jacket to cover Fu Yue's head.

His justification was to avoid being seen by others but deep down, he simply didn't want others to see him in his drunken state.

Fu Yue may be drunk but his thinking ability was still alright. He responded with a slight shake of his head, "No." After making a small pause, he suddenly said, "Are you?"

Wei Chen took back his hand and responded, "No. I am rather cold."

Upon hearing this, Fu Yue dazedly looked down at the oversized jacket which did not belong to him.

Just as he was about to take it off, Wei Chen quickly stopped him, "Keep it on."

They were taking a taxi so they would need to get off at the entrance of the community and take a short walk to their base.

Wei Chen was not afraid of the cold weather but Fu Yue was rather weak against it.

Others only needed one layer but he, on the other hand, put on multiple layers of clothes just to brace against the cold.

Thankfully, Fu Yue listened to his words and stopped taking off the jacket. Nevertheless, he seemed to ponder about something seriously.

Wei Chen usually had a good grasp of Fu Yue's character. Their tacit understanding while playing the game was apparent to all.

Regardless, the drunk Fu Yue seemed to be quite unpredictable. Guessing his next move was hard even for Wei Chen.

A moment later, Fu Yue finally reacted.

Without prior warning, Fu Yue suddenly leaned over. The unprepared Wei Chen unconsciously held his breath and his gaze remained fixed on that magnifying beautiful face.

Before any physical contact could even form, Fu Yue's unique woody scent but this time mixed with a hint of alcohol instantly hit his nose giving Wei Chen an illusion that he was being intoxicated despite having not consumed any alcohol.

Time seemed to slow down and all Wei Chen could hear was his abnormal heartbeat and the rustling sound of clothes.

A warmth from another person's body soon enveloped him and Wei Chen felt an arm put around his waist.

A slight tremor caused by a heartbeat that didn't belong to him was transmitted over after their upper bodies were pressed together.

Wei Chen's expression abruptly froze. His heart almost leaped out of his chest from this unexpected hug.

Not knowing what kind of atrocity act he just committed, Fu Yue lazily rested his chin on Wei Chen's shoulder and grinned, "If I do this, you won't be cold anymore, right?"

Wei Chen took a deep breath and replied in a hoarse voice, "... I won't."

Fu Yue was satisfied with his answer but he soon frowned, "Why is your face so red?"

Without waiting for Wei Chen's answer, Fu Yue suddenly moved his hand from the former's waist to his thigh.

Wei Chen flinched and his whole body tensed up.

Not knowing Wei Chen's dilemma, Fu Yue propped himself up to be at the same eye level as the former and pressed their foreheads together.

After a brief contact, Fu Yue retreated and widened his eyes in shock, "Other places are still cold but why is your face so hot?"

Wei Chen obviously couldn't answer honestly. He hurriedly found an excuse, "Your hug seems to be working."

Fu Yue looked at him skeptically, "Are you sure you are not sick?"

Wei Chen seriously nodded his head.

Fu Yue was finally convinced and resumed his duty of warming Wei Chen up.

"I will keep warming you up then!"

Having such fragrant food in front of him but not allowed to eat made Wei Chen feel tormented.

Covering his eyes with his hand, he muttered under his breath, "...This is driving me crazy."

Fortunately, not long after, drowsiness kicked in and it was not long before Fu Yue fell asleep while hugging Wei Chen.

Having calmed himself down, Wei Chen carefully adjusted the jacket on Fu Yue's body and rested his hand on the latter's waist.

"It is really good to be young haha."

Wei Chen momentarily paused before raising his head to look at the taxi driver who glanced at him through the rearview mirror.

To avoid being misunderstood, the taxi driver took back his gaze and merrily explained, "Don't worry. My eyes have always been on the road! I saw nothing but I did hear everything!"

Wei Chen: "..."

Thinking that the young man might have felt embarrassed, the taxi driver continued to say, "I have been doing this job for over 15 years! I have seen a lot of things! I have to say, you two almost made me miss my wife at home!"

"We have been married for too long that we have long passed the passionate state. You two look young, how long have you been together?"

"We are not together." Wei Chen honestly replied.

In the next second, however, the taxi driver's friendly face suddenly changed. The way he looked at Wei Chen was similar to that of judging a scum man.

Wei Chen went silent for a moment before adding, "... Not yet."

At his words, the taxi driver's expression recovered and teased, "Oh? You are still chasing him! Well, by the look of it, you are not far from winning him over! Good luck!"

Wei Chen gave a polite thanks in response. The taxi driver stopped bothering him and turned on the radio.

Soft and beautiful melodies slowly rang out and a male singer's raspy voice sang softly.

I always believe that the world is dull and noisy,

Like a puzzle, I wonder where am I supposed to fit in?

A place that I truly belong to, does it even exist?

Due to his gender, Wei Chen had always been the center of attention and admiration.

There was no shortage of people who expressed their intention of becoming his bed partner.

But he didn't want to form a relationship with anyone.

He couldn't imagine himself being with another person.

Wei Chen truly believed that he wouldn't meet someone whom he wanted to form a romantic relationship with.

Many people to count, many more to list,

But not a single one made me want to get the gist,

That's it until I found you.

Since when have my eyes been following you?

I am worried that my vision may have gone bad considering how much I have been gazing at you.

Please explain, why are you getting prettier and prettier?

Standing close to you, my face is getting hotter and hotter,

Why does my heart beat so fast at a mere brush of our hands?

What do you call this strange feeling?

Wei Chen was no fool and recognized his abnormality, especially after the night market incident.

He may not have the experience but he could name this strange and jittery feeling.

Gazing down at the sleeping face on his shoulder, Wei Chen's calm blue eyes were brimming with endless pampering and doting.

I only have you in my eyes,

I want to interlock our hands and never let go,

Having my arms around you and letting you drown in my scent,

Marking you as mine.

Wei Chen slightly moved his face and dropped a gentle kiss on top of Fu Yue's head.

Ah, so this is what they called being in love.

Fu Yue snapped his eyes open and sat up straight on the bed.

Fragments of memories appeared one after another forming a whole ridiculous saga in his mind.

"No, no. There is no way those are real."

Fu Yue refused to believe that he did something so disgraceful and to his upright Captain at that.

"It must have been a dream. I normally fell asleep after drinking. I don't have any drinking habits!"

The more he thinks the more it makes sense so Fu Yue feels a huge sense of relief washing over.

Shaking his head as he felt ridiculous at himself, he climbed down the bed and walked into the bathroom.

Walking out of his room, the base was dead silent since it was still early in the morning.

Halfway through descending the stairs, Wei Chen dressed in black sportswear came in from the outside while carrying a few plastic bags in his right hand.

Probably due to the dream, Fu Yue was unable to look straight at Wei Chen's face. He hurriedly looked elsewhere pretending not to see him.

Unlike Fu Yue, Wei Chen showed no irregularity. He lightly said, "Just in time. I bought us breakfast."

Fu Yue awkwardly replied while scratching the back of his head, "Ah, thank you, Captain..."

Wei Chen went to put the food on the dining table and walked in his direction.

"I will take a quick shower. Wait for me."

Not sure whether it was his imagination or not but Wei Chen's gaze seemed to be gentler than usual.

A foreboding feeling started to take shape in his mind and Fu Yue couldn't help but feel that something was amiss.

While he was plagued with anxiety, Wei Chen returned and sat opposite him.

Upon seeing the steaming seafood congee, Fu Yue temporarily tossed away his worry.

Nevermind. If something is indeed wrong, Wei Chen would have already brought the matter up to him by now.

With this thought in mind, Fu Yue bowed his head and happily enjoyed his breakfast.

Nonetheless, the portion was quite big and it was a bit hard for him to finish the entire bowl.

As if noticing his dilemma, Wei Chen spoke up, "If you can't finish it, give it to me."

Fu Yue hastily refused, "No, no. How can I keep letting you eat my leftover food? I can deal with it."

Wei Chen appeared to be unbothered, "I don't mind. I am not full yet."

Since the other party had already said so, Fu Yue embarrassingly pushed his bowl in his direction, "Thank you."

Wei Chen gave a light Mn and casually asked, "No headache?"

Fu Yue shook his head and proudly said, "No matter how much I drank, I won't have a hangover. Don't worry."

Wei Chen lightly nodded his head while slowly stirring the congee with the spoon.

"In the past, you often drank with other people?"

Fu Yue couldn't understand why he suddenly asked this question. Regardless, he still responded, "I usually drink alone."

Didn't know why but after his answer came out, the expression of the man sitting opposite him seemed to brighten up?

Fu Yue swallowed his saliva in difficulty and tentatively asked, "Captain, last night... Did I perhaps do something wrong?"

Hearing this question, Wei Chen paused for a moment. He raised his head to glance at his clueless face and didn't speak for several seconds.

Seeing his reaction, Fu Yue was almost convinced that he indeed had done something.

He hurriedly explained, "I normally fall asleep after getting drunk!"

Wei Chen's expression remained unchanged as he said his answer, "You did fall asleep."

Hearing this, a smile finally returned to Fu Yue's face, "Really? Who brought me back to my room?"

"Me."

"Ah, it was yo-"

Fu Yue's smile went stiff and words were stuck in his throat. He looked at Wei Chen in disbelief, "Wait. What?"

Wei Chen put down the spoon and stared back at him. He instead asked, " You are acting rather strange, why?"

Fu Yue subconsciously recalled those memories and once again felt ashamed of himself. He tried to brush the matter off.

"Ah. I dreamt of something ridiculous again and you happened to be there so I feel a bit sorry."

Wei Chen simply gave a light 'Oh'. Just as Fu Yue thought that he finally become disinterested in his matter, the former suddenly dropped a bomb.

"Did you dream about holding my hand and hugging me in the taxi?"

Fu Yue's pupils dilated. His heart was beating like a drum in rock music.

No way, no way, no way!

Watching Fu Yue's face drained in color, Wei Chen unhurriedly put down his next sentence, "If so, it was not a dream."

Fu Yue could feel heat rapidly spread from his ears to his face and down to his neck.

At this moment, he sincerely wishes to go back to his world.

However, things were not yet over for Fu Yue.

Wei Chen curiously asked, "Again? What did you dream about me for the first time?"

Fu Yue: "..."
