When Casimir's mother was killed before he could even count, his life took a turn for the worst. His early maturity was not a choice and neither was honing his sharp mind especially when being an orphan in an unforgiving world at such an age, was a death sentence. But against whatever odds pitted against him Casimir made it to the age of awakening mostly intact, that is if you chose to ignore his mental capabilities. Despite the early misfortune, his already dark fate would take another defining turn when he would awaken with a dreadful and terrible origin.

Within his mind there was peace. He had been thinking about Officer Evelyn and her character as a person. To him, the looks did not match the attitude of the upstanding officer. While he was thinking about Captain Evelyn he also considered the two guest offices part of the group. Officer Margaret and Officer Morris. The two guest officers were also tier 3 humans like Officer Evelyn, however, he was sure they weren't as skilled fighters as she was.

For her age Officer Evelyn was exceptional. Even among her more experienced peers within the same rank, she's still performed brilliantly. Her talent was undeniable and her significant strength clear for all to see.

But she was also living proof to Casimir that obtaining a fable was almost nigh impossible, and he had obtained one because he had answered a question correctly. It didn't seem fair to him but there must have been something he was missing, a reason why someone received a Fable. If all there was too it was just strength and individual brilliance then he was sure a lot more fables would be flying around. However, much like him, she could also be hiding the fact that she did have a fable. It was not out of the realm of possibility but it was highly unlikely considering she was a tier 3 human. It was unlikely that she had people after her that she could not fend off both physically and via her societal influence.

What seemed, even more, harder to get now was an aura. He had one, impossible as it was now seeming as the days went by, he had one, a dangerous one at that. He didn't know if auras had their hierarchy but he believed that by no means would the aura of a destroyer be inferior to a handful of other auras.

While considering his aura, he reached towards his core and found the tether that linked his soul to his core and by extension his aura. It had been a while since he had been instructed on how to conceal it by the eye of solace and even though it was such a flimsy explanation. That in his eyes was arguably the greatest stroke of good fortune he'd received for as long as he had lived. He was a bit eager to find out how his aura would behave when in battle and by mistake he unleashed a wisp of its senses and environmental influence.

however, in doing so his mind jolted and his body tensed. His heart thundered in his chest. He wondered whether he was hallucinating or not.

'That was a mistake, right? It's been a while since I've used my aura, it could just be getting used to the new environment.'

He tried to convince himself and calm his racing mind. His eyes which had opened as wide as saucers scanned the rest of the cabin. The youths were still conversing, although much quieter this time. The excitement was much less and they were more contained and relaxed. To his left Oscar had noticed Casimir's shock and trepidation. Oscar with evident caution proceeded to ask Casimir if everything was alright.

"Cass? Is everything alright you look a little… shocked."

A nervous laugh followed the question, however, Casimir was too busy to even pay attention to it with his consciousness a hold on his tether, afraid to let even a little bit of his intent go because he just did not want to believe what he felt was real. Another whisper of his aura was liberated and his heart sank. What he felt was very real. Just ahead of them, several soul presences beaconed to his senses, each intent perverse, evil and maybe even unholy. There was a sticking contrast to that of a human presence. These felt very anti-human in every sense of the word. What is more disturbing was how because the cadets were of such low rank they could not feel anything outside of a certain range unlike him who had an aura.

He turned to look to his companion, but before he could say anything Officer Evelyn's voice rang throughout the cabin.

"Cadets listen up, prepare for battle Blood Savannah came a bit early this time, we are engaging with a hoard of abyssal creatures shortly. Summon your armour and your respective weapons and any charms that may you may wish to use get ready to engage. Brace yourselves for impact."

The message was loud and clear, however, the conversing cadets froze like deer caught in headlights. The shock of their situation taking a 180 was almost palpable. There was peace, but in the snap of the finger, now they needed to fight. That initial excitement of having the opportunity to finally engage in combat was now replaced by fear.

Within the silence, Casimir had summoned his armour and his spear, the buzzy noise filling the void and snapping the cadets out of their shock. Next to him on either side, Matilda and Oscar followed suit and soon the rest of the cabin was all adorned in the trademark black and blue armour.

Then there was silence. Casimir gripped the hilt of his spear and waited silently. Finally, after the torturous, wait the vehicle slammed hard against something. It felt like the sensation one got when a car drove straight into a lake and bashed against the water and had all its momentum disrupted. Their seatbelts held true and the door to their cabin was ripped off its hinges. Officer Evelyn shouted from outside.

"Out now! Group One with me, group Two Officer Margaret, group Three Officer Morris "

The cadets moved quickly and quietly. When Casimir exited the vehicle he was met with smoke. He could see that their vehicle had been used as a makeshift barrier and so had another one of the other vehicles and its cadets were also disembarking just like them. There was chaos and inhumane screeches that polluted the atmosphere beyond the makeshift barrier. He could see several abominations, that resembled ape-like creatures, trying to make their way past Ballistics being fired from the vehicles they had disembarked. It was a bloodbath.

However, to him, it was the perfect welcome to the awakened world.
