What made you think she's going to have the mark?

*****************************

In dragons kingdom, the gates opened and the crown Prince Devarn came in on a horse with his troops, trailing behind him. He came down from the horse and met with his brother, Felix who stood at the entrance with a smile on his face.

"Welcome back, brother." Felix said and went to embrace his brother, while Devarn patted his shoulders.

'Where is the King?" Prince Devarn asked.

"At the dining, with Grandmother, the duke and duchess, They decided to throw a feast to welcome you." Prince Felix said.

Devarn removed his cape, giving it to the servant who stood beside him to hold. He walked in and Felix followed, they walked through the large halls with serious faces and the aura that filled the air was indescribable. The servants instantly bowed at the sight of the Dragon bloods and chills went down their spines causing them to shiver.

The doors to the dining hall flew open and the two princes walked in, they both bowed to the king before taking their respectable seats at the table.

"Welcome, Son." King Darius said as he relaxed in his chair, placed at the head of the table and twirling the red glass of wine, his eyes, gazing directly at Devarn, making it hard for Devarn to look back into the King's cold eyes.

"Thank you, your Majesty." Prince Devarn said.

"How has Felix been managing things on my leave?" Devarn asked.

"Quite well, you taught the young prince well." Duke William chirped in. He was fat and ugly and they all had a dislike for him, he was quick to interject in matters that did not concern him and he was also a loose mouth.

The only thing that made the duke keep his title was the fact that he was friends and a powerful ally to the past King, although the queen dowager Irene never liked him and always threatened to feed him to the dragons, that was the only way he'd keep his mouth shut.

"So, how was your trip...Did you find your sister?" Queen Irene asked with hope evident in her eyes, but Devarn was about to sadly kill that hope.

"I'm sorry, Queen Dowager, but I did not find a clue." Devarn said.

"Did you check throughly?" Queen Irene asked.

"I did, we did find a girl with red hair and a little resemblance, but she did not have the mark the females in our family possessed, the one you have behind your neck."

"What made you think she's going to have the mark?" Duchess Tabitha asked, She was fluent and moved with grace, she was also young and beautiful, which made the royal family wonder what made her marry a man like this, a man that was old enough to be her father.

Well, the title of duchess was a title everyone wants in the kingdom, so that pretty much explains it.

"My dear, the unique ability to control the Dragons were passed down to the females of the royal family along with a dragon shaped birthmark behind their neck, which confirms they are indeed Dragonkeepers." Duke William explained while the Royal family stared at him, he did explain very well but it would have been better if he let them explain their tale with their own mouth, but there he goes again blabbering, maybe it was because of his experience with the Dragonbloods. They should put it to an end, shouldn't they?

"How did the king have a female daughter without realizing it himself." Duchess Tabitha asked.

"That's enough, I told you there was no daughter and you insisted, I gave you a chance to check, it has been a year and there was no clue. The search is called off and I don't want to hear a single word while I eat." King Darius said, his voice held authority that instantly silenced the people seated at the table.
