My New Identity

I turned to look at my face in the mirror.

It seems like I look pretty good in this life as well. I am 120 cm tall which is tall for my age. My short hair is deep blue, almost borderline black like ink. Also the same goes for my eyes. As for my face, it looked really pretty. My skin was smooth and fair without a single flaw in it. As expected from a noble.

Also, I looked extremely cute. Maybe because I am a child. I wonder how old I am here.

After looking at my beautiful face and admiring it for 5-10 minutes I went back to my bed to sleep.

But as soon as I lay on the bed, a piercing pain assaulted my head.

"Ahh", I tried to hold back my scream to prevent anyone from waking up.

After 3 minutes of extreme pain, it finally stopped. Memories of the owner of the body flooded my mind.

It seems my name is still Aiden Wood. That's a relief, to be honest. I don't know if I will grow accustomed to a new name after 22 years of having the same name.

It turns out, I live in an extremely well-to-do family, but I am not any member of nobility like I thought. My family earlier had a noble background and I barely lived in the palace after the monarchy was abolished 200 years ago. Thank goodness! I don't know what would happen if I were any member of nobility because I am not used to all the etiquette of a royal family. That would have been bad if someone figured out my identity as a transmigrator.

Nowadays, the royal family is different from the commoners only in terms of money. It was a peaceful world. No protests against monarchy and cruel kings I have read in history. I would not want something like the French Revolution to happen when I am a member of royalty.

Also, another amazing fact about this world is magic. People can learn magic but it is not easy. It is very tough to master. So I will have to look further into these magical studies.

I am lucky I am only 4 years old, and next year I would get to select my subject before going to the National Academy to study. Let's see how things go for me.

There are a lot of interesting subjects to select from so I am excited about going to school. I never in my previous life wished to go to school this badly. But can you blame me? I mean who would not want to go to school when you can learn magic there? The same could not be said for people of this world as magic is a common thing here and not everyone is interested in learning magic because mages although they sound cool are extremely weak physically. There are lots of people who can easily dodge mages' attacks and take them on physically. But I don't care about fighting. I am here to enjoy life to the fullest. So I will become a mage.
