"Well you see Dave, Your father and I and Mr Tony where three good friends before in the past, we used to work together and share the profit when we started this mafia business newly. The business was deadly but we three were always there for each other, but your father seem to like women a lot, he hosted lot of parties inviting girls and spending his own profit carelessly, although he still had some other investment. Later we hit a jackpot and won huge in the lottery, we also shared this and decided to build separate company, your father became well known, because of how well known he his with his spending, he married first before any of us as the girl's family had insisted he must marry their daughter after he impregnated her and Mrs Jeff family was also rich, so your father agreed and married her.." Mr Dot Kones paused.

"Okay so what happened?," Dave asked , looking sternly at him.

"Hmph.. Your father didn't change, he went on with his promiscuous lifestyle and that wasn't enough as he made it big, he wanted Mr Tony's wife whom had just given birth after we went visiting them. I told your father to forget about Mr Tony's wife Lana, but he refused and wouldn't listen, Even after she had given birth to a boy for Mr Tony and was in love with Tony,.. Jeff still kept on sending her gifts behind Tony's back but after she rejected him several times, he went on to destroy Mr Tony business, bombing off the company Mr Tony had suffered to build, Lana still refused him until he threatened to kill Mr Tony and her little son whom was a year old then, pointing the gun to the little child's head after he went visiting their home..."

Dave stiffened as he heard Mr Dot, he felt his blood rushed and he knuckles tightened into a fist.

Mr Dot continued, "Lana didn't want him to kill her son as she knew he had destroyed her husband company, so she pleaded with him she will follow him and abandoned her husband and family, Mr Tony came back and was helpless, he couldn't do anything, and he watched Jeff took his wife away with Jeff's boys around, his wife told him never to come for her again as she openly agreed she will marry Jeff, Tony couldn't do anything again, he was heartbroken neither did he remarry anyone since then, I had thought he will come back for your father for taking his wife away but he didn't," Mr Dot said as he ended the story and shook his head remembering the past

Dave thud and slammed on the center table hard, startling Ashley and Jane whom sat across at the dinning table area, They both stared him in shock, wondering what their father might had told him to provoke him.

Dave stood up feeling his blood rush up in anger.

"So father actually snatched mother away from her husband, so that actually meant Norman is my half brother, I have been wondering why people mistake me for him," Dave felt like squeezing or choking his father right now, why will he hurt his mother that much. Was his mother ever happy since she married his father, it wasn't like his father even married her, he has heard when his father wanted to marry her that was the same time his father's wife plotted and killed his mother, he stood up wanting to avenge his mother's death.

"Dave you need to calm down," Mr Dot said as he beckoned on Dave to seat back.

"Why should I calm, was mother ever happy living with him, why wouldn't Norman want to avenge her death, hmm.." Dave was so angry and Mr Dot stood up.

"Dave you need calm, I do not think Norman cares about your mother either, his more concerned about his father's company that was destroyed and he will surely come hard for you, Am pretty sure his aware of you and doesn't seem to care about your existence, so you need to calm and think of how we will stop Norman, before he destroys all of us."

"Jane let's go, Ashley you be a good girl and take good care of yourself and Dave.." Mr Dot Kones tapped on Dave shoulder, "I am leaving, try and calm down and think properly on how to solve this matter, take care," he said and then turned and left their sitting room with Jane following him from behind, leaving Dave whom was still lost in deep thoughts, alone with Ashley.

Ashley didn't have time to escort her father. She was wondered why Dave just overreacted just now as she walked up to meet him, coming down from the dinning area, she walked up to meet Dave, whom still stood in anger, thinking on how his mother had suffered and was hurt, he never knew about her past marriage, but his stepmother had always insulted him and called him a bastard whenever she was given an opportunity to rubbish him. He felt his blood boiled more and more in anger until he heard Ashley's soft voice from behind him, "Dave.." She said as she came standing in front of him.

Dave remove her hands from touching his, beside she had just rejected to marry him now even after their intense making out that she was caught, he sighed as he turned and wanted to go back to his room to reflect on the matter, but Ashley stopped him again, "Dave are you walking out on me?."

Dave stopped as he heard her question, he turned to look back at her and meet her gaze but he frowned and went back to his room, passing thru the corridor and not looking back to cast a single glance at her again. He was annoyed, very annoyed with the recent news he just received, and Ashley wasn't what he needed now, he doesn't need her comfort as she has already pissed him off with her rejection, but he wouldn't blame her as he also doesn't need a woman in his ugly world.

Dave shut his door and locked it from within, he didn't want anyone to come disturb him as he needed time to think and reflect on how to deal with his father and how to stop Norman from his insensitive attack. Dave fall back to his bed and stared at the huge portrait of his late mother that hung brightly on the wall. She was still younger in the photo, if she wear to be alive, she would have been in her late 50s or 60s, he frowned as he felt his heart ached.

Ashley wondered what her father had told Dave just now that made him very upset and also walked out on her. She rushed out wanting to go confront her father, but he had already left with Jane as she stared towards the main gate and saw the security guard locking back the gate. She frowned and rushed back inside to go dial her father's number, but she knew that calling and driving wasn't safe, even though her father wasn't the one driving she couldn't keep calm but dial his number to find out what he had told Dave.

She rushed back into the sitting room went to the dinning table and pick up her phone, she dialed her father's number and it rang, he picked up immediately,

"Hello father, what had you told Dave that made him very upset?," She questioned immediately as she spoke to the receiver.

"Ashley you need to calm down, whatever I told Dave is business matters and has nothing to do with you, he will be alright," Mr Dot Kones replied.

"Really father, his avoiding me and you said he will be alright?,"

"Why wouldn't he avoid you, didn't you just told him now that you don't want to marry him or have you changed your mind?," Mr Dot Kones questioned his daughter, waiting to hear her response.

Ashley was quiet for a while as she stiffened. Dave wouldn't just avoid her just because she refused to marry him, she gritted her teeth not knowing how to respond to her father's question, until she heard him say, "Not to worry Ashley, Dave will be fine and if you have change your mind and want to marry him, you should let me know, so I can organize for a quick marriage between you both." Then the call went off.

Ashley sighed as her hands dropped down from her ear, where she was holding her phone. She walked back to the sofa to take a seat as she wasn't ready to marry Dave. She likes him, but not sure if she love him enough to spend a lifetime living with him.
