Chapter Seventy-two

Jay Martins could not believe how petty Stella had become. He owed Bella a lot as the guilt of having secret meetings away from her was getting to him, he had to make it up to her one way or another. Thus, he began cancelling his activities for the next two days. After today, it was going to be just him and Bella having their own time. He texted her, and just then he heard the knock on the door, it was Alfredo with the frown, "How did your date go? ",he asked Jay as soon as he entered taking the opportunity to sit down. Jay gave him details on how everything went and Alfredo said suddenly as he stood up, "Keep that up and we would get to the root of everything. Oh by the way, Diego is here to see you ",Alfredo said. Jay resented the fact that he was about to be held by his friend, he tried to wriggle out of the situation to no avail, he must, I repeat, must attend to Diego so he asked them to let him in. 

Sly Diego was more than happy to finally set a foot in the establishment where his father had once trod. He believed he owned a share in the success of the company but he did not want no share in it. He wanted it all, everything and even if it would take him forever to achieve his goal, he would wait gradually, pitting them all against each other. He was not a fighter, but he was sly and cunny to the core, like the slithering he was rounding them up until there was no escape. He did not mind whose toes he was stepping on, the buttom line thing is that he would step on toes and no one could trace it back to him. All these years and while he had waited, thus he knew the patience game more than anyone else. He was prepared to wait some more as he was this close to achieving his goal. He was versatile and really skilled, so he was going to draw out the big cat very soon. As soon as he was asked to enter, he stood up, straightened out his suit and walked into the den of the lion. Jay Martins sat majestically like some lord of the sort on the seat that was soon to be his. He admired the inner arrangements of the place, "Not bad ",he said out loud and Jay thought probably he was admiring his palace. He sat opposite him, "To what do I owe this unprecedented visit Diego? ",Jay asked with such formality that would make you think they were core nemesis. Soon, very soon, Diego said to himself and he tried being coy, "Oh loosen up old boy, is it a crime to come say hello to a brother? ",he said giving his best fake smile.  Jay looked up at him without any amusement, "First of all, we are not brothers.. ",he said and continued, "Second of all, is this the important thing you wanted to discuss Diego? ",he asked angrily. They hated each others guts even though Diego tended to be diplomatic about his own.  He was not one to show every emotion he bore inside, he studied his prey carefully. Although like a hyena, he would always let another animal do the kill while he fed on the carcasses. If only he knew that Jay could see loopholes around him although he could not pinpoint exactly what they were, he was never going to trust Diego.
