Chapter Forty-two

She woke up to the sound of the alarm he had set for her. So sleepy and yet that pesky thing was disturbing her, she forcefully opened her eyes and put it off, then the light from the curtain blinds were penetrating gradually. It was day. She looked to his side and discovered it was empty, she felt disappointed. She had wanted to wake up to his warm embrace not an empty bed space but he was no where to be found, "What a jerk ", she muttered under her breath. He was a hit and run obviously. That's when she saw the note stuck to the bed header, she took it. It was from him, she read :

"I'm so sorry darling I am not there to wake you up with kisses although I'm sure it would not just be kisses waking you up. Something really urgent came up and I have to take care of it. Would make it up to you as soon as I return 

Love you. 

P.S Go to school, you already skipped a day thanks to me. 

Jay".

She read the note over again and felt satisfied that he had actually thought of her enough to leave her a message. But then it struck her, what issue had come up right now. Was it related to what had happened yesterday night because his reaction that night had scared her to the bone marrow. He had shown her another part of him which she had never seen before, and it scared the living dead out of her. Pablo seemed like someone who would do everything in his power to regain face, and she had seen another viper, Vanessa. The lady was a witch and she seemed to slithering. These people were obviously dangerous and she silently prayed that no harm came to her or Jay. It did not seem right that Jay had drawn blood from Pablo last night, who were these people exactly?.  She shook her head as if to shake off thought about them, she had school to worry about. She still felt sore all over but then she managed to pull herself towards her room. A good dip in warm water would definitely do her a great amount of good. 

Getting to her room, she stripped, entered the bathroom. Picking up her long forgotten toothbrush, she washed her mouth and while rinsing, she saw it on her body. The love marks he had left on her like traces of stamps about her skin, it reached up to the upper part of her neck. What the hell!!!.  How was she going to live this out, she began making mental notes of what to wear and it was going to definitely going to be a turtle neck sweater. She took her dip in the bath and let the warm water caresses her body. She felt a lot better after the bath but then she felt lonely. She longed for his presence, she had grown fond of him and nothing else seemed to matter to her. Where was he. She wore a yellow turtleneck sweater and black high waist jeans over a pair of black sneakers. Put on some makeup and went down for breakfast. The dining area seemed empty and breakfast was not appealing as it used to be. She finished picking at her meal, and taking her apple she left for school. The driver was already waiting and when she got to school, it was obvious she was upset about something. Everyone feared her already thanks to him, she needed someone to confide in. That's why during recess, she texted Mikey.
