Allen tapped his fingers on the book quite loudly. Brianna blinked, snapping from her own thought and focusing on the detective again.
She stared at the man as though his handsome face would give her an answer. Surprisingly, the name tag on the guard's uniform came to mind.
Brianna mentioned it clearly, "E. Floyd."
Allen wrote it down. He excused himself for a while and turned his back to Brianna, only to take his phone out and send a message to Ian Merlin containing an order – 'Ask the prison about a guard named E. Floyd. Get back to me as soon as possible.'
He faced Brianna again, who was now standing by the window, looking at the garden outside. She watched the people walking and chatting outside freely with envy, and longing. She never really did anything for herself when she was free.
