Chapter 4: One step

As she waited for the hairdresser to arrive, she pondered over how her face remained unchanged. Based on the novels she read, the main characters would usually have lovely features and would be so gorgeous but it was different in her case.

Her brain cells couldn't catch up with her situation so she shifts to watching Korean dramas on her phone and was thankful that she saved some or else she would die from boredom which is unsightly.

Suddenly, the servants knocked on her door, "Lady Diana, the hairdresser has arrived".

Diana hides her phone under the sofa and ordered the hairdresser to come in.

As the hairdresser enters her room, Diana instantly realized that it was a person with no gender. Not exactly no gender but...

It's a he-she...

"M'lady good day to you."

She scanned him from head to toe before turning her head away and ordered the head butler, "... Head butler let Eva come here right now..."

"Yes, Lady Diana."

As soon as the head butler closed the doors, Diana right away asked for the hairdresser's name while staring at him domineeringly.

"I'm James Keith and you can call me Jimmy my dear..."

"Jimmy... it suits you."

What a pity...

I could tell from one look that he works out. Those muscles that can't be hidden even if he's wearing a loose white polo long sleeves and the right structure of his body that makes me want to touch it...

"Are you sure you're the best hairdresser? Can you do my hair, my face, and my body?"

"Well I can surely do your hair and face if you want me to put makeup on you but if you want me to heal your face and slim your body..... hmm we'll see about that..."

Diana wasn't pleased by his comment but the truth does not lie. Suddenly, the maid that Diana called for has arrived and entered the room.

"What can I do for you, Lady Diana?"

Eva was mentioned in the book, the previous Diana had a liking to her because she was indifferent. She didn't take sides and remained neutral at everything she does. Most importantly, she's a stoic person that's going to be favorable for Diana.

"Eva, from now on you're going to be my personal maid. Don't ask questions and don't say a word to others in whatever I do."

"Yes, Lady Diana."

"Now, send the letter that's on the table to Lucifer Vandenburg and get me catalogs from different famous clothing stores and also one from a commoner's clothing store."

Eva nodded and swiftly picks up the letter from the table and exits the room.

Jimmy grins after witnessing Diana's commanding voice which made Diana confused, "Why are you grinning?"

"Oh, I just love your personality. Anyway, what would you like me to do with your hair?

Diana knows few fashion styles but since she was in a historical world, the trending would be different. Diana thought about it but nothing comes up inside her brain cells.

"I don't really know about making myself nice and pretty so I'll leave it up to you. But maybe something simple and pretty."

Jimmy smiled as he stretches his arms and wriggles his hand. He ponders what would be good for her when Diana suddenly speaks clearly enough for Jimmy to catch on, "I hope you'll exceed my expectations."

"Of course..."

A few moments later, Eva arrived with few catalogs in her hands and Jimmy finally finished beautifying Diana as he lightly pats her hair, "M'lady you can now look at the mirror. You're now as beautiful as me but not fit as me."

"Are you complimenting me or insulting me?" Diana said as she controlled her half-hearted anger.

Diana stood up on her seat and headed towards the mirror. Standing in front of the mirror, she changed drastically. Her hair became silver and her skin was silky smooth, and her looks weren't as bad as before. Though there were still a few zits in her face and she was still a bit chubby. But she had no doubt that the zits and fats would be gone in a month.

"Wow... I didn't know silver suits me... even with this kind of face" Diana said as she strokes her hair.

"It's only natural since the Lambert household is the only people with silver hair" Jimmy answered.

"Then... why..."

"Did you forget? You dyed your hair pure black because you said you wanted to change and you said that in front of many people. I was even present at that time."

"Haha... I... I did that huh..." Diana said as she laughed half-heartedly in front of the mirror, "Well, never mind, It's much better than before, now the only problem is these freaking zits and my figure."

In the mirror, she noticed Eva standing near the door with something in her hand. Before she turned her attention to Eva, she spoke with Jimmy first, "Jimmy thank you for coming today and I'm sorry for calling you so suddenly."

"Don't worry, It's my pleasure. Actually, I would like to be your one and only hairdresser", Jimmy said as he touched and gently puts a strand of Diana's hair at the back of her ear and it made Diana's heart skipped but she quickly forced herself to calm down.

Calm down my heart!

"Are you attracted to guys? Because I'll let you know that it is such a pity to let you go and be with another man. You're even so handsome..."

"Oh my, thank you for the compliment and as for who I am attracted to, you'll find it soon," Jimmy said as he places his hand on his cheek that displays a girly behavior.

Diana was silent for a few seconds but then helplessly smiles as she crosses her arms and said, "I was actually going to ask for your help again whenever I get invited to a party. Anyways, I'm thankful for your appearance today."

"Likewise. I look forward to working together with you."

As soon as they said goodbyes to each other and Jimmy was out of their sight, Diana's smile slowly disappears as she took a glance at the catalogs on the table. She grabbed a pen that was left on the table and marked a tiny dot on the dresses that she liked and would suit her character.

After choosing a few dresses, she wrote detailed measurements of an hourglass body and slender arms and legs then she places it on top of the catalog before giving it to Eva.

"Here, I've marked the dresses I chose, buy all of it and don't miss the paper, it's important."

Eva nodded and noticed the small measurements that Diana wrote. She wanted to ask her and thought that Diana wrote the wrong measurements but she remembered Diana's warning and immediately headed to the clothing stores without questioning Diana.

Diana noticed her reaction and knew what she wanted to ask. She simply smiled as Eva exited the room.

And so for the past month, Diana did everything she could do to be pretty and slim.

Every morning at 4 am, she would sneak out from her room and jog a few rounds at the garden until sunrise. Then she goes back to her room and continues her exercise with a few routines that she made. Afterward, she would take at least one to two hours of bath with shampoo, soap, and lotion that she had.

Moreover, she made a diet plan for her to guide her as Eva brings nutritious foods to her room. During her most free time, she would prepare and plan for all that's going to happen in the future.

In the past, she couldn't really take care of herself due to work and family circumstances, she couldn't beautify herself but now that she had that time, she did everything she could.

And at long last, the day has come, the end of her probation.
