Chapter 6: Another challenge (Rewritten)

It's been a few seconds since I bowed my head, and none of them are saying anything, but I feel a chilling glare from a certain girl.

As i was just trying to lift my face to take a peek at their reaction when I heard a sigh from the person I was apologizing to.

"Sigh, You can lift your head; I know you had no bad intention when you touched my face, but you shouldn't touch a girl so casually when we just met; it's kind of creepy."

"I understand; I'll keep that in mind."

I know what she's trying to say, but I still did it anyway because, as I already said, at that time i just wanted her to stop thinking about useless things, and it also provided me a valid excuse to approach them.

"Umm, that's good then."

She said while nodding her head in satisfaction, but there is one girl who is least satisfied, so I chose to ignore her for the time being. It won't do me any good to say anything to her right now, and it will ruin my chance to become close to them.

"Does that mean you forgave me?"

I know it is obvious that she has already forgiven me, but I just want to continue our conversation.

"Yes."

"Okay, then let me introduce myself; my name is Shio Ren, I hope to be your friend."

To seal the deal for today, I looked at her and said that while trying to smile pleasantly. She also didn't think anything.

"Ah, My name is Itsuki Nakano i will-"

Here I thought everything was going nicely as she was just about to agree, but someone who was not here a moment ago got here and uttered some of my inner thoughts.

"Oh my, are you also aiming for Itsuki?"

The one who said that is a girl with very short white-pink hair that has a single long strand on the right side. Her notable accessory is a single earring. like her sisters, she also has dark blue eyes, an average height, a well-endowed figure and large breasts. As for her school uniform, She wear it a bit differently like she wore her uniform with a thin jacket tied to her waist, with some buttons of her shirt undone; revealing her well develop cleavage.

What she said is not wrong, but I can't simply just admit it and claim that I am also aiming for her. What I can admit, although inwardly, is that her biological weapons, which her shirt is struggling to hide, are dangerous, I also know that if they catch me staring at them, it will be over, so I swiftly moved my sight away from them to look at her face.

'Ren, calm down. You can play with them as much as you want when she becomes yours.'

I encouraged myself not to make dumb mistakes right now. She mentioned 'also', therefore I can presume that what she talked about with that guy is the same. But for now, I have to deny her assumption.

Thinking about all of this slowed my reaction to 'retort' in comparison to those who responded before me.

"Ehhh, Is she telling the truth Shio San?"

"I knew it, you really are up to no good!"

Itsuki is flustered and taken aback by Ichika's remark, which is somewhat true; perhaps she did not consider this possibility. On the other hand, Nino, who had her suspicions, eventually cleared them; if gaze could kill, I would have already died by hers.

'Sigh, it's getting a bit troublesome now.'

"Miss, I think you have the 'wrong' idea; I am only trying to be friends with her, for now."

I said that last piece in an inaudible voice that no one, no matter how close, could hear except me. Some of you may wonder why I'm stating this in the first place. I can't help myself here that's it.

Listening to my response, Ichika gives me a slight smirk, obviously indicating that she doesn't believe any of my claims.

"Hmmm, Is that so? That's fine then but you can ask for my help if you ever need it."

'Yeah, I'll definitely ask for your help when I will try to woo you.' I thought that and giggled inwardly.

"By the way, My name is Ichika Nakano, but you can address me as big sister."

To her suggestions, I just stare at her with a flat expression because I already knew she was going to say something like this and I don't want to call someone big sister who is obviously younger than me. 

"Nakano San, I believe I am older than you though."

my words didn't stop what she is doing, which is trying to tease me. She moved closer to me, her face and body a few centimeters away from touching mine. She is obviously attempting to get a reaction from me that she can use to tease me, but I won't allow that to happen so easily so i did not flinch and stood my ground with an unwavering posture.

"It doesn't matter, you can still call me big sister and i will help you with her if you want."

she said it closer to my ears in a hushed voice so that only i could hear it.

At first, I considered playing like those naive blushful protagonists who would blush at the slightest of teasing and scratch the back of their heads while explaining something, but scratch that; I would do the exact opposite.

i didn't back away, as i make eye contact with her. my eyes filled with confidence, as if i know what i am doing.

"No thanks, i know how to solve my own problems."

i also use hushed voice like her.

"oh my, you guys are so prideful."

while saying that she tried to spank me in my back. anticipating that i swiftly catch her hand in a playful yet firm grip, pulling it toward my face, I looked into her eyes with a mischievous glint and a warm smile, saying.

"Careful lady, you might just spark a rebellion in my heart with that teasing. Handle with caution, unless you're ready to face the consequences of your action."

"I see, you are a tough nut."

She delicately touch her lips with her fingertip, offering a smile in an attempt to project an air of calm composure, as if such teasing encounters were routine for her. However, the subtle quiver in her gaze betrayed a hint of vulnerability that did not escape my notice.

Maybe we were so engrossed in our teasing that we sort of ignored the others until Nino said something.

"Hey, you two, take your flirting elsewhere else and let us eat peacefully; the lunch break is almost over."

Nino sported an irritated frown, hinting at her impatience with my continued presence. It dawned on me that she is right; I still held my forgotten lunch. Observing the others, they were all almost finish with their meals. except Ichika who was busy chatting with me, while a headphone-clad girl had already finished and is engrossed in a mobile game. seemingly unfazed by our conversation, she finished her meal while we were busy talking.

"Ahh, I am really sorry about that Nakano Sa-"

I 'paused' with a 'dumbfounded' look, as if I had just 'realized' something. 

"Wait a minute. Nino, Itsuki, and Ichika Nakano. Perhaps you guys are sisters?"

"Took you long enough to understand idiot."

Nino who did not even looked at me mocked me, But Jokes on you. I already know that, and I may even know them better than themself, but again I can't say that.

"You are right, I may really be an idiot. Anyways, those two girls are also your sisters right."

"Yes, That's right!"

Here i was wondering why she had been silent all this time, given her cheerful personality. Who i am talking about is a fair-skinned teenage girl with short, straight orange hair that stops just around her neck. Her most notable accessory is a bunny ear-shaped ribbon, Like her sisters, she has dark blue eyes, an average height, a well-endowed figure, and large breasts. As for her uniform she wears her uniform normally with the addition of a large butterfly-shaped tie. she is none other than Yotsuba Nakano, the winner of the so called race that should have taken form in the future, if i am not here that is.

"Umm, You are?"

"I'm Yotsuba Nakano, the second youngest of us five sisters. Let's get along from now on!"

She gave me her usual cheerful smile and extended her hand for a handshake. Everything is normal, So why am I feeling so anxious when I shake her hand? To clear my confusion, a transparent holographic screen appeared in front of me, but rather than making me feel at ease, what was written there terrified me.
