Chapter 2

Now am pregnant and I don't know what to do.

At first, I thought about my options, which were either to terminate my child or give my child up for adoption or keep her.

I thought about these three options in my head….

I had to daydream about each one.

If I terminate the baby in my womb, I felt I have already committed murder….. in the eyes of God because am a Christian.

If I give her up to, a couple, I don't know what my mum will think, she would be like U gave up her grandchild.

Then if I keep her I felt she would insult the living day light out of me, because am still in college and i can barely afford anything for myself.

If I tell my bf, he will not accept this child as his, he would run away.

However, my thoughts became unclear to me.

I decided to go home for thanksgiving and trick everyone that I was pregnant to see their reaction because I wasn't showing yet,

I wore a pregnancy belt to thanksgiving.…

" I knocked on the door"

"Micheal "( my brother): Opened the door.

Micheal: Shouted wow!

Micheal: Shouted wow again!!

Micheal: Mum is gonna kill you, Suzy.

I said shh!!

My mum, (magret) came to the door to see me and immediately,

As she tried to hug me….

she instantly fainted and we had to call paramedics.

When she woke up she said she had a dream that I was pregnant and when she saw me again.

She said she was very very disappointed at me!

I was very sad the moment she said that to me.

She shouted at me to leave her house….. with tears in her eyes, saying she never wants to see me again...

As I was walking home I wiped and wiped….. thinking and thinking…..

A car hit me and I was rushed to the hospital….

I thought I lost the baby, the doctor told the good samaritan brought me to the hospital…. he said my baby is fine…

When I woke up… the Doctor Mark and the Samaritain John Millard asked what my name was...

Suzy: Em erm erm, I can't remember….

John Millard: What are we going to do I can't possibly take her home….. because am about to be married….

Doctor: Well, you would just have to take her because I can't keep her here at the hospital but I know that this might be temporary.

John Millard: I would take her home…..

John Millard: Welcome to my home, can I be calling you Cindy for the main time ….since can't remember your name?

Lillian: I am coming.

Lillian: Whose this ?

John Millard: In a few days when she can remember something she would leave…. Plus she is pregnant.

John Millard: Can you show her around and take her to the visitor's room?

We all slept, for the night and it became morning…..

John Millard: Babe, am ready for work is there breakfast for me

During afternoon…

Gina's friend (Beth) came over and Gina requested I get a drink for her friend and her

Lillian: A girl that John brought home…. she doesn't have any memory.

Lillian: I don't see anything wrong with what she is wearing…..

Beth: Until she takes your husband away that's when you will know what am talking about.

Cindy listening to what Beth and Lillian are discussing about her…

Lillian: Please can we change the topic….. SHOUTED Cindy….. Cindy….. where's the drink…

Cindy: Yes! Am coming

As Cindy starts to pour the drink she mistakenly pour so much on Beth….

Beth stood up, shouting! Can't you see what your doing…..

Poured the juice on Cindy…

As Beth was about to sleep Cindy, John came home….

John: And (SHOUTED) stop that…. Can't you see she is pregnant….

Beth quickly left the house… and Lillian followed….her to beg her…

Beth: Be careful

Lillian: You warned me….. I didn't listen… thank you for being a good friend….

When Lillian returned she shouted at John…. For defending me…..

That's where hatred came knocking at the door….

The next day…..

When Lillian came home I could see wickedness starting to glow in her eyes….

Lillian: SHOUTED, Cindy... Cindy…..Cindy…. Cindy

Cindy: yes!

A slap landed on my face...

Lillian: Who is your mate, when I call you, you don't know you will answer me with ma...

Cindy: she slapped me again….. I told her sorry ma….

Lillian: what's for dinner?

Cindy: ma…. I thought you would be the one to cook for the household…

As I said that another slap landed on my face….. I started crying

Lillian: So I am now your house maid that would be cooking for you abi…..

John: Rushed down stairs and asked what was going on….. why Lillian was hitting me….

I couldn't say anything I just left to the kitchen to go fix something for her and John…

When I was done I served it to her and John…. Told her the food was ready.

She went to the dining table…. Opened the plate…..

Lillian: SHOUTED, Cindy …. Cindy…..

Cindy: Yes ma !

Lillian: What the hell did you cook for me !!!!

Cindy: I cooked rice

Gina: And is smelling like spoilt food…. You must eat this food…. She slapped me over and over again.

I started crying and I started thinking of how to run away from this house.

At Midnight I packed my clothes and I ran way far from the house…. Knew no one would miss me except John but I had to because if I decide to stay in that house I will lose my certainty.

I couldn't still remember my name but I was at the junction and someone started to calling my name Suzy…. Suzy …..

I pointed at myself and she said yes you and told her my name isn't Suzy but Cindy

She showed me a pic of her and me I told her maybe it's my lookalike….

She said it's you… there was no one

I asked her how can u be sure it's me…

She pulled another picture….. this tiny around it had my name….. I just went along because I had no memory…

Mariam: What happened to you?

Cindy: I lost my memory

Mariam: How did you lose it

Cindy: That's a very long story

Mariam: Where are you heading

Cindy: I don't know

Mariam: You can come live with me

Cindy: Sure!

I followed Mariam to her home. Where she lived with her brother ( Robert) in a two apartment.

Robert: You are such a pretty girl

Cindy: Thanks

Mariam: You will be sleeping with me in my room... but when my boyfriend comes you have to sleep in the sitting room

Cindy: That's fine.

One night I was laying on the chair and Robert came back from work hit my bum and smiled I quickly stood up and sat down.

Then Mariam came and I tried to tell her what her brother did to me but she never listened to me and started being angry at me…

So I apologized to her….

Mariam: Since you don't do anything in this house, but your seat down and give excuses and accuse my brother of something…. He didn't do… you would start cooking and cleaning this house. And you have to do it every single day.

Cindy: That's unfair….

Mariam slapped me and immediately I fell and I stood up immediately….

Mariam: What's unfair? Hmmm… you seat down wait for food to be passed unto you…

Cindy: I have heard… no problem…..

Mariam: If you like don't hear…. Miss have heard… hiss!

Mariam and Robert turned me into the maid. …

Every time am cooking Robert is always coming to harass me. When he did it again I kicked him in his private area….

When Mariam found out she beat me blue-black.

When Mariam went to visit are boyfriend she left I and Robert at home…..

Robert came into Mariam's room and saw me sleeping …..

Robert touched me, gently, immediately I work up and asked him what he wanted….

He said your gonna give it to me right now, I told him to leave me alone…..

He said, No! No! No!

and he raped me I was crying and crying…..

When Mariam came home...

she asked why I was crying….. told her... Robert raped me…..

She looked so angry at me and started shouting at me ...

Calling me a liar…..

She immediately slapped me….. and I fainted….. and she called the paramedics

The paramedics told them both I was pregnant…. Mariam was shocked

She screamed heavily at me saying….

You bitch ….. you want to trap my brother…. Oh, now I see…. I give you 5 minutes to fucking pack your load and leave this house…. Right, this minute…..

Cindy: Mariam I have nowhere to go….. I can never trapped your brother or thought about it, please!!!!!

As I heard her arm…. She pushed me away…. With anger all over her face…

Mariam: Leave stupid girl!

Cindy finally leaves and was crying and then John finally finds her again…..
