Gavin unlocked his door and when he opened it, Amelia was standing there, dressing in nothing but mommy jeans and a crop top. Gavin shut the door and watched her walk into his living room. She stopped for a while and looked into the bucket of warm water he was using to massage and clean up his face.

Then she turned back to look at Gavin who stood by the door watching her. "What did Marcus do to you?"

"You can see me, can't you?" Gavin replied. "This was what he did to me. And oh, he told you? Did he also tell you he was coming to beat me to a pulp?"

Amelia sighed in exasperation and facepalmed. Coming here seemed to be a mistake. He wasn't even grateful that she was here.
