Clear Lies.

"Where have you been?! and What happened to your face?!" Ling Chuanli asked as he narrowed his eyes at her.

(Shit! I forgot to cover my face).

"I'm listening" Ling Chuanli said.

"Ummm, I fell and something cut my face. It's so painful. It hurts" Li Xiao said as tears rolled down her cheek.

Ling Chuanli paused for a second and studied her face.

She continued crying then Ling Chuanli walked towards her and she stepped back, they continued that same movement until her back hit the wall.

He moved close to her that they could feel each other's breath on their faces.

"You are an actress, yet I can still see through your lies" He said as he smirked.

"I'm telling the truth, I'm in so much pain" Li Xiao said as she continued crying.

Ling Chuanli raised his hand and tilted her face.

"This is obviously a dagger's cut" Ling Chuanli said as he stroked the wound made by the dagger.

Li Xiao's mind went blank.

(What the hell is he doing?!)

"It might leave a scar" Ling Chuanli said as he tilted her head back so that she was facing him.

"Did you get into a fight?" He asked as he put his hand on the wall right above her head.

"No" She said looking straight into his eyes.

(His eyes are so black, it's like I'm loosing myself just by looking into them).

"Ok, since that is how be answering my questions" He said as he moved away from her.

He was walking away then he he suddenly threw a small blade at her face without turning to look at his target.

Li Xiao immediately caught the blade when it was a few inches away from her face and her eyes immediately turned gold from hazel but quickly turned back before he turned to face her.

Ling Chuanli noticed that her eyes were still hazel.

(That's not right. There's something odd about her and I have to find out).

"How did you know how to use blades and daggers" He asked her.

"Someone taught me" Li Xiao said.

"Ok, but what really happened to your face" Chuanli asked.

"A guy attacked me with a dagger and a gun when I was about to come back to the house, that's also why I'm late" Li Xiao said.

(I literally cried and this guy didn't believe me. what a wizard)

"Ok" Chuanli said.

(Finally I'm off the hook).

Then she started walking towards the room.

"Come here!" He ordered.

(What now?) She mentally cried.

She walked towards him and saw him opening a first aid kit.

"Sit!" He ordered.

"I'm not a dog that you can order around!" Li Xiao said.

"I know but you are a lying caterpillar, so sit" He said.

She grudgingly sat.

"Move closer" He said.

She moved closer and he took her face and gently cleaned her wound properly and treated it.

(How can such a devil like him be this gentle).

"By tomorrow, the scar won't be visible again" He said calmly and stood up.

"Thank you" She said smiling sweetly as she also stood up.

"Stop pretending, you will still get your punishment" He said.

"Tch!" Li Xiao said and walked into the room.

Ling Chuanli smirked and put the first aid kit where it was meant to be.

(I abnormally slept well yesterday).

(How strange).

Li Xiao freshened up and wore her night wear. She went into the kitchen and cooked some noodles.

She cooked a little too much because she was very sleepy.

"How will I eat all these" She said to herself as she pouted looking at the noodles in disbelief.

"Wasting is an abomination" Ling Chuanli said out of nowhere.

"Tch, mind your business" Li Xiao said.

"I wanted to maybe help by eating some of the noodles but now that you are being rude. I wont" He said.

"Please help me. You are the best person in the world" She said as she smiled cutely.

He looked at her like she was drunk.

"Pretty pleeeeeeese" She begged.

"Fine" Chuanli said and they ate the noodles together.

(Nice, this is really good).

"I know that you love my cooking" Li Xiao said as she smiled.

"In your wildest dreams" He said.

"Now, your punishment is to cook breakfast, lunch and dinner for me for a month" Ling Chuanli said.

"Whhhhhyyyy!! I knew you love my cooking. I'm the best chef" Li Xiao said as she praised herself.

"Ok ok, you are good in cooking" Ling Chuanli said.

Ling Chuanli went to sleep after eating while Li Xiao washed the dishes.

She entered the room quietly and met him already asleep. Then she turned back and went outside.

She went to the porch and made a call.

"Hello, I told you to call me in the morning but you are just calling me now" A voice said.

"I'm sorry. I was very busy" Li Xiao said.

"You are very precious to me, please don't waste time in this mission. It's only for a year so do it fast" The voice said.

"I know Dad, I know" Li Xiao said.
