Pray (Pt.2: Mateo)

I look up at the small patch that was the only source of light.

I sighed softly and tears slowly start to fall and hit the ground of this cold, dirty and dusty cell I'm being held in.

I then gently lifted my eyes to the small little patch, put my hands together and let the very little sunlight hit my face.

I took a deep breath in… and started to silently pray as I closed my eyes.

"Lord… please.. please guide me to the proper decision I'm supposed to make… whatever it is… just tell me… I want these people to live… and if that also means If I have to die because of that… I'm ok with that… God.. I put this problem in your hands.. you're the only one who knows and sees all and I put my faith in you Lord… so please help me.."

I said out loud but softly "Amen.." I say.

I open my eyes again, tears still hitting the ground.

As my tears fall, I felt a profound sense of calm and peace wash over me. It's as if a weight has been lifted from my shoulders, and I've been shown what I needed to do.

As I opened my eyes, I saw that I was no longer in the jail cell, but in a beautiful garden. The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and you can hear the sound of a stream rippling nearby.

Standing in front of me, I saw a great light. It felt like it was blinding me yet, I was still able to see. A form a light… that was so bright…

Yet I felt peace, not fear of this light…

"Lord?" I say softly as I felt like I was in a big, mighty presence.
