Chapter 9: Entering the Secret Realm
"Vermillion… True Flame" Lu Zheng muttered slowly as his thoughts spun.
He had heard of the Vermillion True Flame in his past life and even knew its true origin.
It was the strongest Mystical flame that belonged to the strongest race in the world – the Vermillion Bird race.
~Is this fate? To think I would inherit the bloodline of one of my greatest enemies, Darmian~
"Now" Lu Shantian's words roused Lu Zheng from his thoughts. "You will also enter the secret realm"
Lu Shantian's blood droplets rose mid-air, moving rapidly in a specific orbit as they formed a circle. The circle immediately began to materialize as the space Qi became denser.
Soon, the circle transformed into a spatial portal.
"Before I forget, the secret realm contains the profundities of time. Hence, a day in there is a year on Earth. I wish you good luck and don't die" Lu Shantian smiled.
"How do I return?" Lu Zheng asked.
"Don't worry about that. I will bring you out when it's time"
Lu Zheng nodded at Lu Shantian and walked into the spatial portal. His eyesight turned blurry and his thoughts became hazy.
By the time he collected himself, his surroundings had changed greatly.
The sky was a yellowish red but there was no sun. The temperature of the secret realm was extremely hot that ordinary water would boil immediately in it. Wherever Lu Zheng looked, only lava and crimson earth filled his sight.
Multiple fire path beasts roamed the secret realm freely without any human interference.
It was truly a utopia for fire path.
~The beasts here all show signs of extreme yang. Just by breathing the air, my blood surges and my body seems to be adapting quickly to this place. Even the ambient Qi here is thick to the extent that the clouds are made of clustered Qi. What sort of a place is this?~
ROAR~!
The roar of a rank one Fire Wolf brought Lu Zheng out of his thoughts as he focused on the beast.
"Hmm! Oh, only a rank one Fire Wolf" Lu Zheng muttered as he punched in its direction.
A huge fiery fist projection was launched at the Fire Wolf and before it could react, it was smashed into bloody paste.
Lu Zheng began to walk away from it to explore the secret realm but before he even took two steps, three rank one Fire Wolves appeared before him.
"Hmph!" Lu Zheng snorted as he used the same attack as before, killing them all at once.
Clang! Clang!!
Six huge spiders surrounded Lu Zheng blocking all paths for escape. The spiders were a crimson colour and they had long, sharp, mirror-like legs. They were the height of a full grown man.
"All rank one uhn? Let me show you a little firepower" Lu Zheng said as he controlled his Qi to transform into three twenty metre long Fire Dragons.
The Fire Dragons launched themselves at the spiders before consuming them, leaving nothing behind.
The Dantian Sea in Lu Zheng's aperture suddenly expanded to five times it original size as a warm current of Qi flowed through his body, refining his body.
"Uhn? Did I just breakthrough into the third tier of Refinement realm? This place is awesome! Just by breathing in this hot air, I can cultivate naturally. Hehe" Lu Zheng laughed but his laughter was cut short by the roar of a rank two Purple Flame Lion.
The Purple Flame Lion was different from the earlier beasts as Lu Zheng's aura did not faze it. It pounced on him immediately. It then set its own body on fire in order to burn Lu Zheng to crisp.
"Yes, let's test fires. Burn!" Lu Zheng shouted as crimson flames enveloped his body.
His Vermillion True Flame was stronger than the Purple Flame Lion's flame and it easily subdued the beast.
Within moments, the Purple Flame Lion was burnt into a crisp.
