Evil Gaining the Upper Hand

'Boom'

Explosion resounded outside of the Royal Plaza, startling everyone within the main hall. Huge vibrations rippled beneath people's feet as some screamed in fear. As the vibrations continued to get bigger, people within the hall looked outside through one of the windows in confusion.

Confusingly, their eyes widened in fear when a large shadow loomed over them. A huge purple colored being with sharp teeth slowly walked its way towards the plaza, causing many people and other reporters outside to run away in fear.

Many people from within the plaza, kept their mouths shut as they did not want the monster to come this way. Realizing it was a demon, Maria immediately escorted everyone down the stairs and into the basement.

'Indra, be careful.' Having said so, she left along with the others and headed towards a sheltered place.

(Minutes earlier)

"Indra this is Freddy! An unidentified group snuck into our office and killed the guards. They also planted a few explosives within the building. They even left a note stating that should anyone try to leave the building, they would press the detonator." Freddy frantically replied.

"Calm down Fred. As of now I am unable to make it because things are about to be hectic over here. Please, do whatever it takes to deactivate the bomb and find the person responsible. Sorry but you're only one I can trust with such a huge task..." Freddy remained silent momentarily before agreeing with his plan.

"Alright man, I'll make sure to save everyone here. Be careful out there."

"I will, and update me once everything's been handled" Ending the call, Indra turned around to notice Maria staring at him. As if she had predicted this all along.

"Mr. Indra, I hope everything is alright." Ignoring her sarcastic remarks, he was about to leave until he sensed multiple signatures heading towards the city.

As he had predicted, they were demons. Most of the signatures were in either ­Guardian's realm or King's realm, along with one in Emperor's realm. Not only did the not destroy anything within the city, but they were also headed towards the plaza and would be here within a few minutes. It was extremely strange.

Realization struck him when he realized that they were all mindless monsters, who were awaiting orders. Two words came to his mind. Demonic power. The stronger one's demonic power, the greater the influence a demonic practitioner could exert one someone weaker than them.

For people like Walter, with his conscience and will power, he can fight against the influence and try to not go insane or become a puppet against other demonic practitioners. If it weren't for Alice, he would've already become a mindless monster and killed other innocent people.

Even if it took all of Alice's power, there was a difference between healing a person with physical injuries than controlling the demonic power within one's body. Especially when it came to Alice's power. Her healing powers are based off of the Light element. An element which is the exact opposite to demonic powers.

In order to counteract or destroy such sinister power within one, Alice's powers had to overpower Walter's demonic energy, otherwise it would've ended up hurting her instead. That was precisely why Alice was concerned over her power to heal a person with such malevolent power.

Indra leaned over to Alice and whispered something in her ears. Having said so, Indra used his full speed and grabbed Maria, Winston, Aaron, and Ema from the Plaza Hall and brought them few hundred meters away from the plaza. With them remaining within the plaza, things would've turned out for the worst.

Surprised by their sudden change in their locations, the three of them brandished their weapons and faced him with extreme vigilance. Maria however, remained unfazed as she placed her hands behind her back casually.

"Oh brother, you and your tricks just never get old do they?" Maria chuckled slightly as she transformed into her demonic appearance with her dangerous purple claws protruding out with extreme sharpness.

"I know you missed me Maria, but I am not here for our sibling reunion. I am not going to let you hurt other innocent people." Except Maria and Aaron, Winston and Ema displayed a look of surprise as they could not understand something.

Why on earth did he not attack them? Even with Maria and Aaron, they knew they would be killed instantly. When Ema turned towards her master, she realized that everything was under her control. It wasn't that he did not wish to, he simply couldn't. As expected of her master.

"Well, if you dislike our reunion that much, then why don't you go ahead and kill us all?" Indra clenched his fists tightly and remained still. Maria's smiled turned even more sinister as she laughed crazily. Finally, she was able to bring the strongest man under her control.

"Shut up…" Indra whispered as he felt suffocated. He had happened to be stuck in the same manner, back when his parents were killed. It was either his parents or the innocent people who were in danger.

Today however, he wasn't willing to make the same decision. He was going to prove his sister how wrong she was. All he could do is to wait for Freddy to respond and make sure Alice and the others within the plaza were unharmed.

"Come on brother, I'm giving you an option this time as well. So I hope you choose VERY, VERY WISELY!" Maria emphasized the last of her words to further irk him.

"No."

"Right so you- what?" She stopped smiling and narrowed her eyes as she noticed Indra looking at her with a fierce determination.

"I choose both. I will save everyone in this city and the people who work for me!" Maria simply chuckled at his bold decision. At the same time? Was he thinking of himself as a God?

"Don't kid yourself Indra. You will soon meet the same fate the other did. We the Dark Wolf Faction, solely exist for that very purpose. To end those who go against us!" Aaron managed to scream his words out to Indra.

"Well said Aaron, well said. It seems that I need to teach you a lesson again to not go against me. Don't worry, I will make sure to cleanly shave your necks off. Neither of you will feel any pain and I will promise you on that." Aaron gritted his teeth as he could do nothing but wait for Maria to initiate her plan.

"Well, I wish you luck brother," before adding, "and it seems that backup has arrived for me." Just then many monsters rushed over to Maria and stood behind her. The empty streets were now filled with tens and tens of monsters of various sizes. Some were flying, while some were huge and radiated power which would kill any mortal instantly.

Several meters away from them on the rooftop of a building, three figures stood on the top observing the commotion on the street. Among them, a young girl smirked evilly as her claws turned sharp and her irises turned purple. Radiating immense killing intent, she was ready to devour her prey.

Without wasting any time, Alice immediately ran over towards the stage and grabbed the mic from the main stage.

"Everyone listen up! Soon there is going to be a huge chaos within the city. I would like everyone to remain within this building and slowly head towards the ground floor and protect yourself. Until other authorities arrive, none are to leave the building!" Hearing her words, many whispered to each other in panic.

"How are we supposed to believe you? It could just be an earthquake and what do you mean by chaos? You better not be joking around!" A young man from audience yelled as he could feel the vibrations under his feet get larger.

Alice stared at the man in front of him like she was looking at a brick wall. It was precisely people like him who would end up dying first. Wasting no further time, she said,

"Then why don't you walk out and be on your own, while the others shall follow me to the basement! Look, this is not a game. There are many things out there that are beyond your imagination. We do not have much time everyone."

Others nodded in agreement as they weren't willing to risk their lives, while the man who argued earlier grumbled in annoyance and fear as he proceeded to follow the others as well.

"You, you said your name is Elizabeth right?" Elizabeth slightly nodded as she too was confused of the situation going on.

"Don't worry, I will make sure to protect you all. Please believe in me and lead us towards the safe place underground. I'm sure you must have something like that since you work here right?" Elizabeth decided to place her trust in Alice and gathered her wits.

"I will guide everyone, this way!" As they were about to take the stairs down, a huge monster made its way towards the palace. With each step, it shook everyone within as they turned around to notice what was it that caused such commotion.

Upon noticing a single eyed monster with two small horns protruding from its head, many people screamed as they witnessed something which threw away their perception by many levels.

"Snap out of it! Hurry up and follow Elizabeth if you do not want to lose your lives." Alice herself was stunned when she witnessed a monster which towered ten feet. The people within the building ran with all their strength and headed towards the stairs. The FDA director and his secretary weren't an exception either. Today, evil had truly gained the upper hand.
