The Legendary Man

Long ago, there was a legendary man. He fought countless men to the death until he was labelled the strongest in the world. Years later, the man was on his deathbed, surrounded by disciples and he said to them, "One of you, continue my legacy and become the strongest". And so, bad times began. The disciples were loose lipped and spread the word and so, many began pursuing a life similar to the man in hopes of becoming the strongest. About 200 years later, our 'hero' is born. He too wishes to become the strongest just like the others. This story follows his journey to becoming the strongest.

Brother don't fuck with me

Eventually they woke up. One by one. The first to find me was Quarkia, a girl slightly older than me who's parents had also died. She was soft and instead of seeking revenge she coped by drinking and getting off on herbs, a total mess. "Oh, when did you get back?" She asked.

"Just this morning, how have you been doing?"

"I've been doing good, are you hungry?"

"No, I ate before you all woke but I'm going back out soon" I declared. I wanted her to come with me but asking directly would be too much considering she just woke. I wanted to give her the option to see how fond she was of me.

"To where?" She asked.

"Just a walk, since I've spent some time away" I responded.

"Then I'll go with you", My gamble was a success and I rejoiced inwardly, "Just let me clean myself up". I nodded and said,

"I'll be waiting outside for you". She quickly turned away but I saw what looked like a little smirk. I really liked her, physically, mentally she was alright.

Eventually, after dressing and putting on her makeup she came out, looking stunning. "Your clothes looks nice on you" I commented. She looked down, trying to seem humble and responded simply,

"Thank you". We began our walk around. The day was quite good and we chatted about meaningless subjects, catching up on what had happened while I was away. We then arrived at another tavern. I went despite the fact I'd eaten, that was now meaningless. "So how've you really been" I asked, trying to learn more about her mental state.

"I've been, alright" she said pausing to think, "My habits have gotten a bit weaker so I'm getting somewhere but time to time I have nightmares". I paused, making it seem as if I had to think about what to say next. In reality, I'd imagined her answer would be something like this and of course I had a response.

"Let me tell you, I know exactly how you're feeling. Some nights you just can't go to sleep, all you see when you sleep is a replay of that event. I've been through the storm and it had me down but the other side is sunny" I said. Inwardly, I cursed myself. The delivery was a bit too long for comfort since I was trying to play a character, a man of few words.

"Thanks, I'm glad to know that" she said meekly, still unsure. We stayed quiet for a bit until, Andador entered. He glanced down at us before ordering, then sitting besides me. "What are you two doing here?" He asked a bit more serious.

"We were just walking then we came into here" I said. Quarkia refuted me but Andador still looked at my worryingly.

"Hey come outside, we need to talk business, the money I owe you" he said standing. I nodded and stood before turning back,

"I'll be back" I said to Quarkia. She nodded before I turned forward and exited with Andador.

"Hey, I told you don't get too distracted with liquor and especially women, you're the executor man" he said in a much more serious tone.

"And, the fuck does that mean, all I've gotta do is go up to the tower and threaten to kill 2 people" I responded. He seemed taken aback but then suddenly punched my face. I stumbled back, gritting my teeth. I couldn't beat him in a fight and that feeling of helplessness burned me. "I swear, you're gonna regret this, brother don't fuck with me"
