Chapter 7- Stone
"Who sent you here? I haven't offended anyone yet."
Dwight looked at the assassin in front of him calmly.
He was a bit irritated as he had been disturbed during his nap, but he didn't want to spend more time arguing with the ant.
'Is it because I am too handsome that this world cannot tolerate me anymore?'
The assassin was amazed at his calm demeanor, as it was rare for a teenager to stay so composed in this kind of situation.
He knew Dwight's background and was aware that he was lazy and weak, but his attitude made him feel that Dwight might be up to something.
He expected him to be crying already and begging for mercy, yet he looked calm.
He was sure that Dwight didn't have any guardian with him, only an 8-star mage but he already took him out and fell for his poison.
He didn't know where Dwight was getting his confidence or if he was just putting on a brave front to avoid being attacked.
The assassin didn't answer Dwight.
Instead, he disappeared from his place and appeared behind him.
He swiftly moved his hands and struck Dwight's neck.
'Even if you have a trump card, you will still die in front of absolute power.'
Boom!
Dark Crow was pleased that his mission was about to be accomplished, as the one who hired him had given him a huge offer. But he felt something was wrong.
He felt like he had hit a heavy metal object and then saw that his hand was broken while Dwight's neck remained untouched.
"Arghh!"
He immediately shouted, but being a fully trained assassin, he endured the pain and quickly distanced himself.
"What is happening?"
He was confused as to why Dwight was unharmed while his hand was broken just from hitting his neck. He decided to abort his mission.
As a trained assassin, if he didn't kill his target in one attempt, he would escape as quickly as possible.
He didn't know what had happened, but he had a bad feeling.
He trusted his instincts, which had saved his life many times.
He looked at Dwight again and saw him smiling with a playful look.
Dwight's smile was handsome but appeared evil to the assassin.
Scared, Dark Crow immediately disappeared from the place and escaped hurriedly.
"Boring."
Dwight murmured as he didn't expect the assassin to have such good instincts to escape immediately.
He wanted to toy with the assassin a little more, but he had left when he failed to subdue him in one attempt.
He yawned, picked up a stone from the ground, and carved a word on it using his fingers.
"Sweet Dreams."
He read it and felt satisfied with his art.
He threw the stone in a certain direction and then went back to the carriage to fix the mess the assassin had created.
…..
"Oh shit, that scared me."
Dark Crow appeared in the dark room where the man who hired him was located and sighed in relief as he finally escaped.
He didn't know why, but as someone who had killed many, he felt that the kid was eviler than he was.
He had never felt this scared before and swore never to mess with Dwight again.
He looked at the man in front of him and said, "I don't want this mission anymore. Look for another assassin."
The man in front of him was stunned and immediately replied, "It was a simple mission, and you failed to complete it?"
Dark Crow was angry and replied, "Easy mission, my ass! I almost died because of this so-called easy mission."
"Luckily I escaped. I didn't expect that kid to be a—"
Dark Crow was about to tell the man in front of him, but the place where they were suddenly exploded.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The sounds of the explosion could be heard by everyone nearby.
One minute later, a man with one arm pushed the rock that had fallen on him.
He looked miserable, with many wounds on his body.
"Cough, cough. What was that?"
He scanned the surroundings and was stunned to see that the place was flattened as if a meteor had fallen.
"Fvck, my property and my treasures are gone."
"Fvck!"
He was angry as all his wealth was hidden in his basement, but it had turned to dust because of the explosion.
He had collected his wealth over many years by pillaging and robbing, planning to hide it until he got his revenge and could live a comfortable life.
"Arghh!"
He shouted in anger as he felt that all his efforts were wasted.
He then looked for Dark Crow but didn't see him.
Instead, he found a piece of black cloth on the ground and was sure it belonged to Dark Crow.
There was some blood on it, and he was sure that Dark Crow had died in the explosion.
"Fvck, I am sure to be hunted by the Assassin Organization."
All he remembered was that Dark Crow had appeared in his basement and was about to talk about Dwight when the explosion occurred.
He was the only one who had hired Dark Crow, so if they found out he was dead, they would hunt him down and make him pay for what happened.
He wanted to investigate the cause of the explosion, but he suddenly detected a group of people approaching the place.
So, he didn't hesitate to leave immediately.
'What a bad luck.'
He wasn't scared of them but wanted to remain low-key for now while he could only swallow his huge loss because of the explosion.
Shortly after he left, five people appeared in the area.
All of them wore white uniforms. Four of them released the power of a 7-star-level aura.
They were led by an 8-star-level female who had a sword on her waist.
The other four were all male and followed behind her like puppies.
She stood 5'8" tall with blue eyes and white hair. She was a gorgeous lady who looked around 18 years old.
She immediately commanded her team to investigate what had happened.
….
In just 5 minutes, all of them reported what they had learned.
One of the men bowed in front of her and said, "Prin—"
He was about to continue, but he saw her looking at him with an angry expression, so he stopped and then replied, "Commander, we all found the reason for the explosion."
He said it, but he still felt nervous as the woman in front of him was not someone he could offend.
The woman looked at him and replied, "What did you discover?"
The man immediately showed her a small piece of stone they had all found in the middle of the explosion and replied, "This stone was in the center of the explosion, and we believe it was thrown here with great power and speed to create this kind of impact."
The others nodded, as even they found it unbelievable. Even a 9-star warrior or other physically related professions couldn't achieve such a feat.
They had been hunting in the forest for their mission when they suddenly heard a loud explosion nearby and decided to investigate.
The commander took the stone from her subordinate's hands and scanned it.
She saw a small word and read it. "Sweet Dreams?"
She was confused and stunned. She felt that this stone held many mysteries and then put it in her pocket to analyze it later.
She looked at her subordinate and replied, "Don't mention what happened here. And about the stone, don't tell anyone. If I learn that others know about it, I will kill you all."
She threatened them, and they all got scared, as this woman was so strong that even if they worked together against her, they wouldn't win or even scratch her.
They all nodded, sweating profusely, swearing in their hearts not to reveal this to anyone.
After that, they decided to continue their journey.
….
On the other hand, Dwight didn't care what happened to the assassin. He woke up Tessa and Donald.
Both of them were confused about what had happened, but he only said that he had just woken up and didn't know what had occurred.
Dwight had already cleaned up every possible trace of the earlier events.
They were bewildered but decided to ignore it and continue their journey toward the academy.
The 8-star mage had no clue that their lives had been in danger moments ago.
Dwight had sealed his magic, but his physical strength was beyond the limits of this world due to his physique, so even the strongest attacks in this world couldn't harm him.
Dwight decided to go back to his nap and didn't care who had tried to abduct him earlier.
He was too lazy to investigate and saw them as mere ants in his eyes.
