Onish gazed at the golden Sanskrit characters floating in the air, descending from the blazing sun. The sacred hymns of the Vedas resonated all around him, their profound melody filling the air. Enchanted, he realized why his guru often said the Vedas are self-preserved: as long as Surya, the Sun deity, exists, he bestows their wisdom upon the worthy. Onish felt the sacred resonance align with his mind, unlocking memories and unveiling the secrets of the universe. He closed his eyes, bathing in the rain of divine knowledge—a reward for his relentless pursuit over countless years.
Perhaps a hundred years had passed. Onish had lost count. His guru, Swami Anand Giri, had departed to another loka after teaching him how to earn Lord Surya's blessings. It had taken Onish longer than his seniors, all of whom had left him one by one. During moments of despair, he had clung to the teachings of the Shri Mad Geeta: "One should enjoy the journey without obsessing over the destination. The journey teaches us and makes us worthy of the reward."
Now, the mysteries of the universe were unfolding before him. The major eight siddhis—the sacred powers of a yogi—awakened one by one. Through his spiritual eye, he saw countless strange beings: Kinners, Yakshas, Rakshas, Dakinis, Vidyadhars, and Yamdutas, roaming unseen by mortal eyes. Wonders and horrors once hidden had now been revealed.
Seven days passed. The hymns ceased, and the golden characters dissolved into the ether. The valley fell silent, waiting for the yogi to awaken. The sun rose, melting the snow that had gathered over Onish's unmoving form. His eyes opened, glittering with unparalleled wisdom. He unlocked his mudras and bandhas, taking a deep breath. It was time to leave this world.
Onish prepared to ascend, his bond with this realm weakening. He closed his eyes, locking his mudras and guiding his prana (soul) through the chakras. Stopping at the Agya chakra, he waited for the shishumar randhra—the portal to other lokas—to appear. Time crawled. Finally, a tiny bluish light glimmered before him. Without hesitation, Onish plunged into the portal using the anima siddhi, shrinking his soul to pass through.
But the portal shook violently. Cracks spread across its glowing walls, and an invisible force struck with devastating power. The portal shattered, unleashing spatial winds that lashed at Onish's soul like thousands of sharp blades. He tried to stabilize the collapsing space with isitva siddhi, but the invisible force overwhelmed him.
Through his spiritual eye, Onish saw a terrifying sight: a giant golden hand crushing glowing specks in the void. Each speck was a universe teeming with life. The hand's crushing fury seemed aimed at him. Panic surged. He knew he could not stop it. Using his siddhis would risk dragging him back into the cycle of birth and death he had escaped after countless lifetimes.
Desperate, Onish closed his eyes and invoked prapti siddhi, allowing his soul to travel without a destination. Dissolving into the void, he felt his consciousness fade. The last thing he saw was the giant hand obliterating the speck where he had been hiding, accompanied by a furious roar that twisted the void.
