Artifact

As we stood in the silent hall, breathing heavily, the weight of our victory settled over us. The artifacts had saved us, but we knew we couldn't rest. There were still many questions unanswered.

"We need to find out more about these artifacts," Mr. Alex said, his voice firm but tired. "There might be more to this than we realize."

"We should check the library," Ayan suggested. "There might be more books there about the school's history and the artifacts."

"Good idea," Mr. Alex agreed. "Let's go."

We made our way through the dark, empty halls, our footsteps echoing loudly. The school felt eerie and abandoned, a stark contrast to the chaos we had just faced. The tension was thick, and every creak and shadow made us jump.

When we reached the library, we quickly locked the doors behind us. The large room was filled with rows of dusty bookshelves, stretching up to the high ceiling. It was quiet, the only sound being the faint hum of the air conditioning.

"We need to find anything related to the school's history or the artifacts," Mr. Alex instructed. "Spread out and start looking."

We split up, each of us heading to different sections of the library. I headed to the history section, pulling out old, leather-bound books and flipping through their pages. The others did the same, searching for any clues that might help us.

After what felt like hours, Kaori called out, "I think I found something!"

We all gathered around her as she laid a large book on the table. It was an old journal, filled with handwritten notes and sketches. The cover was worn, the pages yellowed with age.

"This journal belonged to the school's founder," Kaori explained. "It talks about the artifacts and their power."

Mr. Alex flipped through the pages, his eyes scanning the text. "It says here that the artifacts were used to protect the school from an ancient evil. They were hidden in the school to keep them safe and were forgotten over time."

"So, the school was built to keep something out?" Miu asked, her voice trembling.

"Not just to keep something out," Mr. Alex replied. "But to keep something inside as well. The artifacts were meant to hold back the darkness."

A chill ran down my spine as the realization hit me. The school wasn't just a place of learning; it was a fortress, built to contain a terrible secret.

"We need to find out what that darkness is," Ayan said. "And why it's trying to break free now."

"According to this journal," Mr. Alex continued, "there's a hidden chamber beneath the school. That's where the source of the darkness is. If we can reach it, we might be able to stop this."

"But it's not going to be easy," Kaori said, her voice steady. "The zombies are still out there, and who knows what else we'll find."

"We have to try," I said, determination filling my voice. "We can't let this darkness take over. We need to protect each other and stop it for good."

With a plan in place, we prepared to head to the hidden chamber. The journey would be dangerous, and the path uncertain, but we knew we had no choice. The artifacts gave us hope, but the true battle was just beginning.

As we left the library and made our way deeper into the school, the sense of dread grew stronger. The shadows seemed to move, and every sound made us jump. But together, we pressed on, determined to uncover the truth and save our school from the darkness that threatened to consume it.
