The current earth

"Is that him?" A slim looking female asked around as she saw the figure of a boy who was well known throughout the Star institution. This institution was a place where humans who had special powers were taught in how to use their powers to benefit the human race.

Ever since the surge of mana, humans had been experiencing a strange phenomenon known as the awakening. This awakening was an event that happened once every year. During this event, people who were seventeen or older came to a podium to receive what was known as the awakening.

This was a very important part of the life of humans. Ever since mana had arrived, there had been the appearance of something known as rifts. Rifts were portals that almost felt like it sent humans to a different world. Inside these rifts were beasts that were very powerful.

If these rifts weren't cleared, there was a huge likelihood that the beasts would leave the rift. Once this happened, only catastrophe followed, beasts numbering in the hundreds would appear, killing and devouring several humans.

Infact, this was very dangerous. In the beginning of the era of mana, the humans lacked the power necessary to clear these rifts. Due to this, large amounts of breaks had occured and in less than a year, about a million lives were lost to these savage beasts.

That wasn't the only threat though, as once in a while, an alien race would appear and attack them. An example of this was the great war of mana, this war was caused by some red skinned aliens with four legs and four arms. They showed great physical power and in the end had been responsible for over 10 million deaths. However, humans over time had gained humans with tremondous power that was able to solve their problems.

An example of these powerhouses were the fierce dragons' Jason Kise, Joshua Ashar and Stephen Pierce. These were all sss ranked warriors that had greatly helped the human race.

Groups and factions had been developed in order to train humans better. The fierce dragons faction was a very powerful faction that was capable of even threatening the planet itself if they were to switch sides. They were about 10,000 in total and had over a million followers.

The next guild was the beast hybrids. As the name suggested, they were a guild that had mixed beast DNA with humans.

This process was greatly shunned upon by the human race, since it had let to the deaths of more than thousands of humans when this project was under way. However, now their strength was greatly appreciated as they seemed to have created monsters from these mixtures.

It was rumored that they drained the energy of several beasts before granting it to humans. The two strongest members of this guild was Panto, a human that had been mixed with the DNA of a white tiger. Panto was an sss ranked warrior as well, with large amounts of energy so great that anytime he fought, the people on the planet could feel the energy from his fights no matter where they were. The other one was Sabredore, a man that no one seemed to know really well. He was a pure human, despite all these things that were happening around him. He looked like a 30 year old. He was a swordsman with great strength. That was all was known about him.

The other guild, the Elementals also self explanatory were a group of people that specialized in elements. Infact, this was more of a family thing. This group were strong due to the amount of mana they had. They were one of the most powerful, and could possibly even be the most powerful, of they worked together.

The elements, lightning, fire, wind, water, earth light, darkness could be seen in this guild.

The leader of this guild, was a light elemental swordsman. He was the fastest human. His movements which were as fast as the speed of light, if not even faster made him a very difficult opponet to deal with. His name was Ray and he was feared all over the world due to a few things.

Last but certainly not least, was a guild that was run by only one person. This person had over a billion followers and was considered the most powerful thing in this world. He had tremondous physical abilities. He was just as fast as Ray, however his strength and other factors made him superior to almost everyone.

There was even one time where an alien who claimed to be a god had clashed with him.

This alien had called Jack a divine hunter. That figure possessed godlike power and had even destroyed an entire mountain with a single move.

However, Jack had superior power and had destroyed this so called god. He was loved by all, due to his strength and caring attitude. He was fierce yet softhearted. Jack was indeed an anomaly.

Just like any other political setting, these guilds had qualms with each other. Once in a while, they would try to pull one on each other.

All this was part of human behavior. This hadn't turned into anything serious because, none of these groups seemed to have the power to clearly wipe out the other without leaving themselves prone to other attacks.

The only person who could possibly do that was Jack. Jack had power to literally wipe out armies as he demonstrated when he solo cleared an sss rank rift alone.

Such a feat showed his power and he was never messed with by anyone.

But now, this story is about a boy who potentially had the power to exceed all of this. His name was Azrael and he was the first person ever to have undergone such a strange awakening.
