Chapter Four: Mother

"We cannot let this go unanswered", declared an elder, his voice steely with determination. "Find out who sent those assassians. If it is from those two clans we will bathe this city in blood." A wave of agreement swept through the gathered members, their eyes gleaming with a fierce resolve. Amrit felt a surge of pride at the unity and strength of his clan, knowing that they would stand by him no matter what dangers lay ahead. He knew he was not alone for his future endeavour.

The elders murmured among themselves, their expressions dark and foreboding. It was clear that the Rijals would not take this attack lightly. Amrit could sense the tension in the air, but he stood tall, unflinching. He knew that his clan would seek retribution for the harm that had come to their own. He knew the Rijals' reputation as fierce fighters and loyal guardians of their territory would be put to the test. As the elders continued to discuss their course of action, Amrit felt a deep sense of responsibility for the safety of his people.

As the conversation in the hall grew more heated, Amrit's mind swirled with thoughts of what lay ahead. Suddenly, the door to the hall burst open, startling everyone. A petite figure dashed towards Amrit at an overwhelming speed and enveloped him in a tight embrace. Before he could process what was happening, tears began to fall from his eyes. He instantly recognized the comforting hug of his mother. She was still the same brown eyes, small figure and the sobbing. In his both lives she was same.

Amrit held his mother close, feeling the warmth of her embrace and her familiar presence. The elders watched in silence, their expressions softening as they witnessed this tender moment between mother and son.

Amrit's mother pulled back slightly to look into his eyes, her own filled with a mixture of love and worry. "Amrit," she whispered, her voice trembling slightly. "What happened? Where were you? I was afraid after you didn't return yesterday. Thank the gods you are unharmed." Amrit's heart swelled with emotion at the sight of his mother's concern, and he vowed silently to protect her and his people at all costs.

"Mother," Amrit breathed, his voice thick with emotion. "Sorry I worried you. I got lost in the forest and had to spend night there. Look at me aren't I okay?", he replied showing off his biceps. Looking at him for a moment she noded. Seeing this the elders sighed with relief wiping imaginary sweat. Don't be fooled by her sweet appearance, when it comes to her son she goes berserk morever she is a certified battle maniac. She was formidable warrior with unparalleled skills in battle. Her presence alone could instill a sense of confidence and reassurance among peers. When Amrit was small she battled with his father because he was training Amrit too hard. Morever, she was really strong at 7th level of Foundation Building, she can beat ordinary cultivator of 9th level Foundation Building. If she heard he was assassinated there was no telling what she would do.

After sighing a sigh of long relief his mother gave him a stern look, her worry quickly turning to a fierce expression. "Lost in the forest?" she repeated, her voice tinged with a hint of disbelief. "You should know better than to wander off alone, especially in these troubled times." Her eyes flashed with a fierce protectiveness as she pulled his ear. Oh yes it was familiar alright, in both his lives. He smiled unknowingly even though it hurt. "Ow, mother!" Amrit exclaimed, a mixture of pain and amusement in his voice as his mother scolded him with a firm grip on his ear. Despite the discomfort, he couldn't help but feel a rush of nostalgia at the familiar reprimand. Her protective nature had always been a constant in his life, a source of both exasperation and comfort.

The elders watched the exchange with knowing smiles, relived Amrit was alright and his mother Radha didn't knew about assassians. Once she released his ear, Amrit stood before her, a mix of sheepishness and gratitude in his expression. "I'm sorry, mother. I promise it won't happen again," he vowed earnestly, knowing that her concern was born out of love and a desire to protect him. He could see the worry lines on his mother's face ease slightly at his words, her maternal instincts gradually calming in the presence of her son's assurance.

Radha gazed at her son with a mixture of pride and exasperation, her worry beginning to dissipate as she saw the sincerity in his eyes. She knew that Amrit was strong and capable, but her motherly instincts always surfaced in times of danger. After a moment of silence, she finally spoke in a softer tone. "I know you can take care of yourself son. But promise me you will not venture into the forest alone again." Her words carried a weight of authority, tempered by the love and concern she held for Amrit. Amrit nodded solemnly, understanding the gravity of his mother's request. "I promise, mother. I will be more cautious from now on," he assured her, grateful. The tension in the hall seemed to be lifted slowly.

"Alright come home I have made your favourite nine tailed chicken soup." Radha said dragging him by his hands. The nine tailed chicken was first order spirit bird equal to Qi sensing realm. It had nine tails of different colours seemingly shining in sunlight. Although it had almost no combat power some of these nine tailed chicken could reach second order spirit bird equivalent to Foundation Building realm. They were incredibly tasty and nourishing. One nine tailed chicken was equivalent to cultivation improving pill at same realm and without side effects of pill poison. The only disadvantage was low fertility among them so every clan had to use them sparingly. As young master of clan he could occasionaly taste this chicken.

As she was dragging him towards three storey home, he looked at his ragged appearance and said "Mom, I have to take a shower. I will meet you at the kitchen." And ran off towards second floor.
