Fennel had woken up early, cleaned up, and put on a fresh change of clothes for the day. When he opened up the door, he looked to the right to see Jasper standing guard over the room.
"Didn't Miles dismiss you from the post?"
Jasper smiled and shook his head. "They decided to make various cuts to the budget so I could continue looking after your safety."
Fennel frowned, but decided it wasn't the worst of things. At least he had still gained an ounce of freedom, so he wouldn't push the subject more than necessary.
"Jasper," he began. "Could you have Sebastian deliver breakfast again this morning?"
Jasper nodded and left to notify the butler. With a sigh, Fennel closed the door, leaving it unlocked so the butler would be able to enter on his own.
