Chapter 1 Recruitment

Fiddling with her fingers,Raine looks so nervous and cold it's finally time to recruit new servants in the palace and she hopes she gets picked.From a poor family whose parents was killed gruesomely by the werewolves that attacked the capital years ago. The werewolves took over the kingdom years ago and ruled the human nation ruthlessly.Raine's parents was part of the unfortunate people that died in the massacre years ago, so Raine has been an orphan since then with no family and friends to cater for her.

Now the time has finally come for her to work in the palace because some werewolves nobles took a liking to her and decided to recruit her as a maid in the palace.

"Oliver Raine" The head maid called and she was jolted out of her thoughts and answered

"Over here madame" Raine answered with her head bowed because it is a norm for every human working under the werewolves to always bow to their master.

"Come here girl, we are running late to work, go to your assigned place of work."the head maid irritatingly muttered

Raine got confused because she has forgotten where she was assigned to work but got worried about her getting punished on her first day so she decided to follow some maids going to the kitchen.

"Hey you, where are you going,aren't you supposed to be going to the king's quarters."

Befuddled and afraid,Raine was confused about what the head maid just said, "m…ma, I..I did not hear what you said"she stutteringly whispered

Annoyed that the little girl wasn't paying attention to her she spoke more loudly "I SAID YOU ARE ASSIGNED TO WORK IN THE KING'S QUARTERS"she said firmly. Now follow me little girl,she ordered Raine.

Raine could only obediently follow as she cried silently for her new bad luck.

"Oh Lord please help me….." she prayed.
