The Killing at District 12

There were mysterious murders taking place at District 12 every last weekend of the month and the serial killer was at large. "Our killer was not just deliberately peeling of the face of his victims. He was also eviscerating their body and purging out their organs, particularly their hearts. It was like the killer wanted to remove everything that made one human." Two people who used to be high school friends and also shared a painful past; both lost a loved one on an incident that happened six years ago decided to join hands to solve this mystery. One was retired a forensic anthropologist who turned a new leaf and chose to become a professor at a medical school While the other was a former law enforcement officer who had decided to be into seminary and was just a step away from becoming an officially ordained priest Will they be able to identify the notorious killer that lurked the shadows of their district??? CRIME OF PASSION

As soon as Mikael took out and pasted the copy of the partial impression of their killer's shoe, he immediately explained what was it as well as its origin.

"This shoeprint was found in the mud site where the body of the sixteenth victim was found. Men's size 6, and just an ordinary rubber rain boots that you could typically buy on a bazaar for a low price. Very cheap and common---"

"--And very washable..."

Anton filled in as he nodded his head in understanding, slowly trying to partake on the discussion as he was eventually learning the details.

Meanwhile, Santina rolled her chair over to a nearby desk and rummaged through the same pile of papers where Mikael had gone through. The box mostly contained the copies of police reports regarding the recent incidents at District 12

As much as they could, Santina and Mikael saw to it to get their hands on every cases within their district and due to this, the photo copied version of every police reports eventually accumulate on their office.

After verifying her facts, Santina looked back at Anton and filled him in again with details.

"So far, there has not been any reports of unfortunate attacks on boys around our age group yet. However, there is no guarantee for us that it would remain that way. Since we could not exactly dimed the possibility that he might change his age preference in the future."

"Have you guys come up already with any other possible reasons on why did the killer choose his victims in such a way?"

Anton asked and Santina replied to him with a simple shake of her head.

"Aside from what we told you already, that we suspect that our killer was not exactly strong in the first place, we cannot think of any other possible reasons yet."

"The same goes with the motive."

Mikael seconded and then he continued

"Up until now, we still could not comprehend why he was doing any of this and even committing his deed in such a brutal way to the point of eviscerating the organs and genitals of his victims and even peeling the skin off the faces of these poor children."

He said with a grim expression as he thought of how gruesome the case they were working at.

Despite the fact that they had been dealing with it for nearly a year already, the thought of it alone still did not fail to make Mikael's stomach churn,

"Hmm... I must say, the killer was lucky that he have not met a victim yet that could actually retaliate and fight well."

Anton commented after a while

After listening to the alternating explanation of the duo, he decided to finally share his personal take on the case. But as early as now, Mikael found the need to correct him.

"Not so much about luck, Anton but more of skills. His timing is excellent. Even his choice of victims and circumstances could be said to be well thought. This is premeditated, wisely planned, and carried out at that. The nature of the kill itself is something that the killer had though well before committing as there was little margin of mistake. No wonder we still could not find a clue that could lead us to the culprit"

Mikael replied with his right hand placed over his mouth while he was supporting his chin with his thumb. Something that he would usually do whenever he was deep in thought or was contemplating over something.

"Anyways, so where do you suppose he takes his victim?

Anton inquired to keep the discussion going.

Knowing that it would be pointless to think too deep into matters that they did not have an answer to at the moment, Anton decided to continue asking instead.

"The dumpsite is too open, let alone accessible. So there is no doubt that our killer used to take his victim somewhere else first. Someplace where he was sure that no one would be able to disturb him once he was already committing his crime of passion."

Mikael replied and to discuss more of their findings based on the autopsies, Santina spared Anton with some details.

"Indeed. Then he would start working on the heart first. Base on what I on my autopsies, I believed that he paid careful attention to this act of removing the heart itself. It could be that he also had containers prepared beforehand for every organ and genitals."
