No need for shame

Ariellas pov

The high king slowly sat next to Blake who looked furious. All they had to do was let me go home and everyone would be happy. The whole thing forgotten.

"You know what everyone needs to relax. You were upset last time and he didn't realize that you wouldn't be comfortable with his help. You did yell at him for letting you go to sleep in your clothes." Alax sounded exhausted

I completely ignored Alax and looked at King Alexander."I think it'll be best if I leave." I said with a small smile. My tears and sobs had resided and now I just felt empty. I didn't even want to be here anymore.

"No." King Alexanders stern voice had me pausing. "No?" I whispered as I looked at him more closely. His eyes were glowing gold and his hair looked to be on fire. A black fire that was swaying slowly.

"A simple misunderstanding is all it is so you won't be going home." King Alexander said as he wrote something down on a piece of paper.

"Please." I whispered. He didn't even look at me as he started to write in a packet that had atleast one hundred pages in it. He flipped though page after page signing away.

"I'll let you switch classes. If it makes it easier but I would really like it if you stayed in my class." He said once he got to the end of the packet.

"I don't really get your class. I think maybe I should take a beginners class." I said softly. I didn't want to anger him and have him change his mind.

"I could tutor you." He said with a small smile. He was disarming me but just one glance at Blake had me shaking my head.

His small smile went away and he gave a simple nod before he was pushing the packet towards me. I looked down at his signature and couldn't help but admire how perfect it was.

"Just sign there to agree to switching classes. Make sure you don't have any second thoughts about sighing it though otherwise it won't work." He said as he handed me a pen that was hot. My dad had me use a pen like this before. He said that it was magical and created bonds.

"You don't have to do this. It really was a simple misunderstanding. I didn't mean to make you not want to go to class." Blake said looking genuinely sorry. I wish I didn't feel weird every time I looked at him.

"I'm sorry." I whispered as I grabbed the pen. A few tears hit the paper but it was magically protected so it was fine. I took a quick look at where to sign before I was signing my name watching as it glowed with every letter I wrote. Binding my agreement. This bonding pen made it where there was no going back.

"Fuck you really signed it?" Alax asked. He didn't sound angry. I slowly set the pen down and looked up at him looking at the packet I just signed with astonishment. His eyes were sparkling and that had me pausing. I peeked over to Blake who was smirking at the packet. A small chuckle left his lips.

I looked back down and it was gone. "Can I get a copy?" I asked King Alexander who was sealing the paperwork shut. I wanted to read through it and see what classes I had instead.

"No." Was his simple answer. I was not prepared for that. I looked at him but he wasn't even looking at me. He was busy with the packet I just signed.

"It's my legal right." I cringed as I said it but I still needed to bring it up. I knew that was one thing that I had a right to no matter what.

"Drink this while I get my subordinate to make you a copy." He said as he pushed a cup towards me. I looked down at It and back at him with suspicion. They were acting weird.

"You know if I wanted to do something to you I wouldn't need a drink. I'm the ruler of all realms. My word is law." He said as he leaned forward. His eyes shining with amusement and warning.

"I mean I could kill you just for denying a drink from me. It is a law I created." His smile made me grab the drink and drink it without even tasting it. Drinking it all in one go was probably not my best idea.

"Can I look at the original?" I asked as I set the cup down. A sweet bitter taste was a after taste but it wasn't bad. I licked alittle off of my lip and looked up at the high king who was just staring at me.

Slowly a smirk formed on his lips as he took me in. His smile just got bigger and bigger as the seconds went by.

"How long?" Alax asked as he just looked at me. "Not long. A couple of minutes maybe." The high king said as he leaned back in the chair. How I never noticed the resemblance of the three was beyond me. Was I that oblivious and naive?

The way everyone was just staring at me told me something wasn't right, I looked around the room and seen a door that most likely was connected to the office. I pushed my chair back deciding it was time to go. I felt normal so the drink was good. I knew most spelled drinks were instant.

"Ariella." Blakes voice broke the silence as I walked towards the door. His voice made regret creep into my bones but I pushed the feelings down. I turned around to him holding out a piece of paper.

"Your new schedule." His friendly face had something twist in my chest. He was a good friend. I had to close my eyes and shake the doubt from within me. I never had a friend until him. I was so stupid. If we wouldn't have ended up in this room our friendship would've lasted a long time.

I opened up my eyes to a piece of paper being put into my hands and Blake walking away, his hands in his pockets. I looked down at the piece of paper and back to him. I had to leave. I turned around and slowly walked to the door so I could read it.

The moment I looked at the first class I knew something was wrong. "This is the same schedule." I said to the high king as I spun back around. I looked down and read it over but nomatter how many times I double checked it was the same.

"Now." King Alexander said right as my legs went slack. My arms were wild as I tried to catch myself. "There you go I got you." Alax whispered into my ear right as he caught my limp body.

"How long will she be awake for? You gave her less than I did." Alax asked. They drugged me. But I was just a powerless Goddess.

"Wh.. wh. Y." I tried to ask right as my eyes got heavy. What did I ever do to them?

"You didn't do anything little butterfly. I did this because you are stubborn and I need you in my class. Blake did nothing wrong and you only wanted to end your friendship because of shame. Well I took the shame away for you." King Alexander whispered in my ear.

I was moved around alittle and pushed against a solid chest. "I'll teach you how to be a good friend but for now let's put you to bed." Blake said as my mind drifted away to a different place.
