Chapter 11 : Initiation

P.O.V. ALEX :

I wake up from my sleep to feel some banging on my face and when I open my eyes I see it's Abigail looking at me with that poker face not caring about my annoyance for waking me up .

We head to the dining room to order our breakfast, and apparently the list was very varied, well it has to be since there are more than thousands of students here.

As usual I order everything there was as I am starving , Abigail just some breads with tea for the morning .

When we were eating there was a very loud orange haired girl , talking to a quiet boy dressed in typical Chinese costume , with a tuft of pink hair , diverting my gaze to my food , I start eating and detect the familiar presences I knew even though they are far away , but what can I say since this know is huge to house many people even in the whole Academy there are more than twenty dining rooms with variations each .

When we finished eating we headed to our lockers to get our weapons , of course they were only normal , as the real ones we have them stored in our own dimension as a single filter of their true aura would kill people just because of the pressure and blood intent it had as ours are weapons that went through many battles .

On the way we met several strong people, of course only for the moment, who were at level 2 max stage, even some just need a situation where they break the limit or just pass it with time.

Abigail went to change into more comfortable clothes for the initiation , I instead down the locker aisles looking for my number , when something small bumped into me I felt her fall but I grabbed her hand .

"Ouch , how loud!" shrieked the girl , looking at her she looks familiar including that aura , when she looked up I recognized her , it was little Ruby , I was surprised but I didn't show it on my face , but it's weird since she's not old enough to enter beacon yet , umm .... maybe it's because of her eyes , tch sure that's why .

"Sorry for crashing, I wasn't looking where I was going .

"oh don't worry, it's my fault too since I didn't see you" umm... He still doesn't seem to recognize me , maybe he remembered me .

When he stares at me, I notice his eyes dilate a little and he shivers but manages to calm down.

"Yes, but I'm still sorry!"

"Oh my name is Ruby rose! Nice to meet you!"

"my name is Alex Walker nice to meet you or meet you again isn't it Ruby!" grabbing her chin to make her stare at me, I see her whole body start to shake, her eyes start to water with her red face 'how cute'

"e-seriously it's you Alex!" she says in a shaky voice .

"wow it saddens me that you don't recognize me , maybe it's because of my beautiful teenage face" I tell him in a mocking tone , how I liked to tease him .

"y-you big fool" and she starts hitting me , although her hits feel like massages , I don't stop her because I'm sure she is very angry with my departure just like the whole family "how come you leave without saying goodbye ! you don't care about us ! you don't love us ! you remember the days when yang and dad blamed each other for you leaving ! You don't even think about us!"

"I'm sorry but I had to" I just hugged her and let her vent , but I realize we're drawing attention to ourselves .

"Ruby I know you're probably upset and I don't blame you, but I think we should go somewhere else so we don't attract attention" waking her up from her whining, looking around she notices several eyes looking at her and looking at our position we look like a couple that just made up, letting go of my arm she quickly turns around all red and takes me by the hand to a more secluded place.

She leads me apparently to her locker where I see a well developed blonde waiting for her.

Seeing Ruby she calls out to her by raising her hand, but when she notices my presence I see her frown and analyze me, typical big sister stuff.

"wow Ruby I didn't know she already had a boyfriend!" she teases her sister , but she still doesn't stop frowning .

"He's not my boyfriend Yang it's Alex don't you recognize him!" the moment Ruby says my name , she freezes , but instantly looks down , covering her face with her hair.

I already realized that you are angry and I will accept everything you reproach me , because it was not good at all to leave your house without saying anything with just saying goodbye by letter .

I know what's going to happen, and I deactivate my defenses so I won't get hurt, and without saying anything, she punches me in the face, sending me crashing into a wall.

I'm glad you got strong, your punch hurt me! I'm speaking sincerely, because she's at the highest stage of her level just like others, and I'm glad that they're getting strong so that they won't be in too much danger.

But I think she takes it badly, thinking that I made fun of her, and hits me again.

"Stop Yang, don't hurt him anymore!" yells Ruby with tears in her eyes, stopping her sister.

"But Ruby, this guy abandoned us and for him to just go back to himself like he doesn't care makes me angry! You should be angry too!" she cried too, ahh... I didn't like this sentimental thing, I don't know what to do now, I don't know how to say something to lighten the mood, with Abigail we just let ourselves go on impulse and over time I grew to love him more but not in situations like this.

"But this is not the time, we will get to the point where we have to give him his punishment! but now we have to go to the initiation!"

"You're coming with us Alex, I won't let you go again!" "If you love me too much, will it be with my dazzling face?

"Okay, but when the initiation is over, since I also have my companion!" but the moment I said companion, their auras turned cold and gave me a chill.

"Yang, Ruby, I know I didn't do anything nice, but I'll tell you everything when I finish the test, until then I'll be with my partner who should be waiting for me! I'm sorry!" I walk to where my locker was, in the distance I hear my name being called, but I'll see you after the test.

"All first years, please report to the ravine for initiation," I heard the call over the megaphone.

When I met Abigail, she had already changed into a military-style tactical outfit with khaki pants and a black polo shirt without a jacket, with two holstered pistols around her waist.

I am also wearing a dark brown tactical one.

As we were leaving, Abigail came closer to smell me and gave me a cold look, "You smell like a woman, who were you with?" This personality of hers mysteriously attracts me, maybe it's my real taste.

"Just with some friends, don't worry, I've already told you you're unique," I kissed her and caressed her a little to calm her down, I wouldn't want her to kill my acquaintances, I'll have to control her so that doesn't happen.

P.O.V. THIRD PERSON:

In a ravine at the edge of a forest, several groups of first year students were scattered in different sections, although there was a pair of sisters who wouldn't take their eyes off Alex, also annoying Abigail as they didn't like her staring at their man, at the front of it all was Professor Ozpin with Professor Glynda.

Putting some aura on his vocal cords for all to hear, the headmaster speaks, "For years! You have trained to be warriors, and today! Your skills will be tested in the Emerald Forest!"

the teacher also speaks up "now I know that many of you have heard rumors about team assignments!"

"well let us put an end to your confusion! . each of you will be given a team!"

"Today!" confusing those who didn't know .

"These teams will remain for the rest of your time here in bacon! . so you better pair up with who you can work well with!" with the director speaking .

"The first person you make eye contact with after landing will be your partner for the next 4 years!"

"After you pair up! , head to the north end of the forest! You will encounter opposition along the way so don't hesitate to destroy everything in your path or you will die!"

"You will be monitored and graded for the duration of your initiation but our instructors will not intervene! You will find an abandoned temple at the end of the path containing a number of relics! Each couple will have to choose one and return to the top of the ravine!"

"We will save that object as well as their position and grade them appropriately!"

"Oh and one last thing this test will be many times more difficult than other years as this will decide who will be appropriate in the hunting profession from now on! There are many chances that you will die in this test so those who don't have the courage to take it should withdraw now as once it starts you will be the ones who will be the ones who will be on your own in the forest!" he says very seriously, applying a little pressure on everyone to see who withdraws.

But no one did as they are determined to pass this test there is no room for cowards here , many already knew that the test will be the hardest of their lives , but also the one that will decide their futures , so everyone is determined to a fight to the death if just to pass the test.

"Alright now get ready and get ready for the fights of your life!" with everyone taking position and a hundred thrown to the precipice .

ozpin just watches with an amusement , as it is fun for him to see children being thrown off the cliff .

Alex landed in superhero pose , and putting his hands on the back of his neck , he set out to explore the forest and see if he finds a team or Abigail finds him first .

With his senses sharpened we hear many explosions throughout the forest letting us know that the battles have already begun.

Hearing one near him he goes to see who it was , arriving at the scene he sees many hordes of grimm disintegrating into oblivion confirming that someone killed them .

Listening to the noise up ahead he notices that a girl is fighting with a couple of Death Stalkers and several beowolf , and not at all the girl is losing because by the time he arrived with a single movement of the sword cut them all , Alex even felt a little intention of the sword astonishing him how talented she is to achieve that.

When the girl who turned to see him , Alex was dumbfounded and in his mind he says 'what the fuck , Raven' since that girl looks just like the Raven he knows with those red eyes and that cold look indifferent to everyone .

The girl just gives him a glance and goes another way, Alex does not mind her indifference and follows her way since according to what the director ozpin said the girl will be his companion.

No matter which way he went, Alex always followed the girl to the point where there were visible marks on his forehead from the discomfort he felt.

At some point they entered territory full of Grimm and the girl out of nowhere disappears into the shadows leaving Alex alone among all the Grimm that were now coming in his direction snarling .

Looking at the annoying herd of Grimm he just pulls out his pistol from his holster and with great accuracy shoots aura reinforced bullets that killed all the Grimm , but he missed a nevermore that was throwing its feathers like arrows that made him move out of the way .

Once again aiming at the Grimm shooting it with a special ability erasing it completely , noticing where the girl was he realized that she was watching him in a dark area camouflaging herself .

putting his gaze in that direction he asks simply "and did you pass your test?" and the girl comes out of there and directing her gaze to him walks towards him and passing by his side "at least you're not weak trash!" , knowing that she had already accepted him he followed her , though no matter how much she didn't accept him she would follow him anyway , but even her attitude looks like Raven's.

"at least you will tell me your name since we will be partners mine is Alex!" , after a while he answers "Meredith!" and continues on his way .

Alex just wonders what kind of partner Abigail will have gotten , he just hopes she won't kill her because she annoys him , 'well I got her calm so hopefully she will control herself' .

What Alex didn't know is that the situation with Abigail is full all right as her partner is not a bother .

And as much as she is older she looks like a little girl in a school uniform , but she is very strong and very experienced as she handles her gun very well .

With her here you don't have to worry about grimm on your way as she kills them in seconds and her name is Anastasia , she says she came here to have adventures .

apparently she already passed level 3 before coming here that shows how strong she is and a good choice in her team .

As this many others are formed everywhere and after many hours many teams had already arrived at the abandoned temple and collecting their relics thus passing the test, but there are also many who still do not make it, as they must also fight with their respective opponents.

At this moment two teams are facing a grimm never seen before by them and the fight at this moment is a life and death situation as they are giving their all to defeat them.

After these two groups defeated a nevermore and a Death Stalker together they rested for a while and then returned to the ravine, but when they were about to leave they were surprised by a grimm with a very frightening and intimidating appearance that attacked them on sight.

It was a very tall grimm almost reaching 2m 1/2 two upper and lower limbs like a human, with the typical composition of a grimm: all over his body has many red veins, with huge claws shaped claws a thin muscular appearance, a creepy smile with many sharp teeth and from the back coming out as 8 tentacles with a sharp claw at the end. (I have no photo so just imagine it)

the group that faces it is one made up of the students: Ruby , yang , Blake , Weiss , jaune , Nora , Ren and pyrrha , who don't know what to do because just by looking at it they know they can't defeat it , and they can't call the teachers either because they said they don't intervene.

and at this point is where they remembered what Professor ozpin said at the end , that the test will be several times harder than others , and they will all fight it equally , they had also heard several very loud explosions far away from them , they thought they were facing normal grimm like them , but imagining and comparing it to their fight before , theirs would just look like a kids fight .

And it is true as other students are facing the magnitude equal to what they have , even more but they won't know until they finish the initiation .

Right now they are all desperately dodging the tentacles attacking each of them .

"Everyone don't get touched by that thing ! I feel that if it touches you something bad will happen!" shouts Ruby.

but not everything goes as planned as just at that moment one was going to reach jaune , who was saved at the last second by pyrrha who pulled him out of the way , with her receiving the attack he grabbed her leg and without a shred of mercy slammed her into the trees breaking many in the process .

Looking at that act of brutality, everyone was just paralyzed as they had never in their lives had an experience like that, and the one that affected Jaune the most was that because of him another one got what he deserved.

But being the youngest and youngest of them all, Ruby was the one who recovered first and with sheer determination she disappeared in an explosion of petals to appear where Pyrrha was and cut the tentacle with her sickle using a lot of force .

and walking away he realizes that everyone is still in shock "wake up everyone!!!!! , this is not the time to be in fear!!!!! , our lives are at stake!!!! , we must all be in this together!!!"at that everyone coming out of their shock with jaune moving towards pyrrha looking that she is badly hurt but most of the blows were protected by her aura .

"pyrrha do you hear me! I'm sorry! , because of me you were attacked!" crying with frustration and guilt of her incompetence .

"cough! it's not your fault! it was my own decision! , besides you are still my partner!"

"so it's not the time to start crying! , we're still in a fight!" getting up with difficulty , in the end with the help of jaune he stood up corruptly , noticing that the monster looks in Ruby's direction and roars very loudly , causing a strong mini tornado , moving everyone a little , but they planted themselves tightly so that no one flies away.

"yang! Weiss! Blake! Help me fight that thing! Because if we don't, that thing won't let us escape!" and they all assisted .

"well first we must cut those pesky things off! Because without them we can fight more freely!"

"I'll take care of stopping it!" says yang with strong determination and trembling legs.

"I'll help you too!" speaks Blake.

"I'll go with you, don't even think I'd let someone lesser than me go alone to do something so important."

"well come on , remember to be careful!" to go to the monster using his semblance with Weiss following accelerating his speed with his glyphs .

"ahh come here you ugly bastard!" shooting multiple explosive bullets at him , which only made that grimm angrier , who was going to attack her with a tentacle , but it was cut off and turned into ice .

Looking at who attacked him was about to hit her , multiple bullets came in his direction distracting him , running very fast in the direction of the faun , makes a long-range attack with the tentacles but no longer feel them , looking at his back he realizes that they are no longer there.

WHAAAAARRR!!! roars very loudly and at a great speed reaches that pink blob that was passing by his side , hitting it without warning sending him against some rocks and when he was going to chase it he is interrupted by his frozen legs , but with his same to force he breaks it and also hits it very fast and without leaving him time he grabs his leg and sends him to the ground with a lot of force causing a small crater , and to get rid of this annoyance he wants to step on him .

But multiple bullets with dust collide on him pushing him away a little , and that instant and pink blur grabs her and quickly moves away .

"yang! , Blake! now it's time no longer has those tentacles!" shouting to the two who got into position when they saw that the grimm recovered and advances at high speed .

when his big fist was approaching Ruby's small body another one answers him causing and big shockwave , but he hadn't flinched , except yang who had recoiled from the drag and showing great pain on his face .

"shit it hurts me so much !" says yang , but he knows this is no time for whining and activating his semblance he strikes back another blow to the grimm which sends him flying face up as a tape had been tied on his feet .

"Cough! Cough, cough! I'm really like this at an initiation! Do they want to kill us!" rising Weiss from his previous unconsciousness.

"I know Weiss but we all agreed in the end since the director himself said we could leave!" replied Ruby with difficulty since her body was also sore and bleeding from the head just like Weiss .

"I swear that if we get out of this I'll file a complaint to that director! cough!"

"maybe but it's not the time" pointing to yang and Blake who were fighting with the grimm but not leaving him much damage.

"I know! let's go get that bastard!" and driven by the glyphs she quickly leaves followed by Ruby , and they arrived just when the grimm was going to grab Blake , and Weiss switching her weapon to red mode , creates a repulsion force that prevents it .

"yang distract him a little ! , we should and by the legs so he doesn't have so much mobility!"

"I'm on it!" and go to face body to body the monster that overcomes him by far , but also Blake takes advantage of the moment to tie an arm and six freeze his legs .

Ruby does not waste it and goes for the legs , but in a second the grimm increased its strength many times and giving yang headbutt and that stuns her , takes the opportunity to grab a weakness of Ruby , her cloak and pulling it hits the floor once again making her vomit blood as her aura had been broken , and without giving time to the other pulls the arm that had tied him approaching Blake who is also unknown for this and received a punch in the face sending him against some trees .

and breaking the ice he grabs Weiss who protected himself with multiple glyphs and dust explosions , but nothing helped , and thus receiving a powerful knee in the stomach that the wind shock pierces him and makes him spit blood and leaves his eyes blank and also his shoulders hurt since the hands of that grimm are sharp and the only thing that protected them from that was his aura that had now been broken.

yang who had recovered, observed all this and anger filled his judgment and rushed at the grimm who also responded, causing another shockwave that ended up winning, leaving yang very sore arm as he also heard something broken and his body that absorbed it.

but in her pain she feels a big shadow covering her and she looks to arreciaba observing horrified a big fist approaching her, closing her eyes she resigns herself but....

CLANC!!!

she hears a loud metallic sound , and opening her eyes she observes that it was pyrrha who defended her with her shield but also received a strong backlink.

"we're back yang! Sorry for the delay! , but when we were going to help you hordes of grimm appeared which we had to take care of so they don't get in your way!" and she also understood them since they were with several signs of fighting and also wounded , surely they must have faced several to get damaged .

"they sure took their time! but I thank you! , so could you please help me recover my group!"

"yaa...! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! that's why we came we are the saviors aren't we Ren" speaks a positive Nora who wants to lighten the mood.

"Ahh it's not the time Nora! but it's true we are here to help you!"

"ok guys! Let's do it! Nora! Pyrrha and I will take care of distracting that thing! , Ren you and yang must rescue the others as soon as possible!"

"Yes fearless leader! , let's go defeat the big bad!"

"ya , I'm on it" and he activates his semblance covering yang as well to go after his companions.

"now well what do we do with this guy !" mutters quietly Jaune , looking that pyrrha and Nora already left to fight the grimm . But he must also plan how to defeat it , so sharpening his vision he carefully observes that the monster is quite damaged by his fight with the other group , but where it is more affected is in the legs that were damaged and showed freezing and a little cut .

"That's it!" if his arms were cut off he would be helpless but he would still have mobility , but once his legs are disabled he will be an easy prey to solve.

"Pyrrha! Nora! Cover me! We must go for the legs, he is the most damaged and could give us an advantage!" strengthening himself with aura, his strength multiplied, being faster.

Nora activated her grenade launchers and fired them at the grimm exploding it , and pyrrha with a great spear skill hurt the grimm , but she also had to defend herself from a powerful kick that sent her crawling on the ground .

But the grimm did something that surprised Jaune and Nora, and that is that it disappeared from its place and in the blink of an eye appeared behind Pyrrha and launched powerful blows that hit Pyrrha's shield, cracking it and fracturing Pyrrha's arm.

and defending himself from a spear attack, he grabs the fractured arm and squeezes it and was going to tear it off, but a big hammer blow falls all over his face releasing pyrrha, and looking at another target, opening his mouth he accumulates energy sending a large dark beam to implode in Nora that all he could do was defend himself with his hammer, and flying out to impact on a large mountain wall exploding it and making it spit a lot of blood.

COUGH!!!

but he also receives an attack as he falls to his knees, realizing that he has received a large sword wound in his legs.

When Jaune was about to stab him in the head with the sword, he pulls him with his arm, and reinforcing his head, he gives him a big headbutt, cracking his head and knocking him out.

He is ready to smash his head, but he cuts off his leg making him lose his balance, and multiple ice spikes go through him and cut his whole body.

"You forgot about us you bastard !" spoke a all bloody Weiss who could hardly stand up .

"you will pay for what you did to us!" shouted a yang all furious with her hair on fire .

"we will take revenge for what you did to our friends!" and they got into a big fight of attrition , reinforcing themselves with aura increasing their strength .

and Blake at that moment the pupils of his eyes dilated resembling that of a feline stalking its prey , and with that came a great increase in strength and at a great speed appears all over the grimm's body cutting him everywhere .

Ruby cut off another arm and yang much of his exoskeleton and Weiss making him deep wounds with the help of powder .

Ren also began to cooperate when he put his group in a separate place so that he would not be affected by the fight.

"AAAAHHHHHH!!!" they were screaming like crazy everyone with their bodies riddled with wounds as in a while the grimm was starting to attack using dark energy , fracturing the bone of several .

In a moment the grimm was going to launch the same attack he did to Nora at Ren who was breathing heavily.

but a large hammer impacted his head , closing his mouth , exploding the energy in his jaw destroying him.

"Kill him Ren!" says Nora with her last words, fainting completely.

Ren with the help of Blake holds the grimm , and Ruby takes the opportunity to cut his other leg , being exhausted on the floor the same with the others , Weiss with a large amount of dust freezes the grimm who was glowing with energy , wanting to explode with everyone .

"watch out!" shouts a frightened Weiss .

but a sword stabs into the grimm's torso , stopping it a bit , and an already unconscious pyrrha throws her spear with all her strength piercing the grimm's skull , killing it completely , leaving it to disintegrate .

At that moment, those who were still conscious felt the ground rumble , looking at a specific point where large hordes of grimm were coming to where they were .

He felt they were going to resign, but a barely standing Ruby staggered towards him to protect her new friends, but a hand stopped her "stop right there! Just rest, I'll take care of the rest!" turning her face away her eyes fill with tears as the one who said that was Alex who was not happy at all.

"Yes!" falling unconscious in his embrace.

"hey take care of them for a moment! I'm going to get rid of those pesky rats!" his partner just nods in annoyance.

"okay!"

noticing the grimm , he puts his hand on his spare sword , "harassment you guys can't stop fucking around! , tch!"

putting on a vacant look she unsheathes her sword and swings it "just die!" cutting everything in half including a part of the forest .

His companion was only a little surprised and then went back to her indifferent look.

After a while a ship came to pick up the wounded, to take them to the medical room to heal them.

And not only them, since there were also several ships transporting wounded, those who had already finished were in the observation room watching the fights that were still going on, and several admired the fight that Ruby and Jaune's group had.

The group assignment was announced for the next day, to wait for the students who were being treated.

And so the initiation took place , with several students seriously injured , but also strengthening their monstrous talents , and forming large groups that will be to be feared in the future that will defend all remnants .
