The Infernal Architect

Reincarnated into his past self, Tyler is given the chance to correct his biggest mistake. He rediscovers the Liber Infernus- an ancient tome penned by a fallen celestial. [By wielding this book, you gain access to the lost knowledge and inventions and oblige to being the new infernal architect! However, the price you must pay is your humanity. You must accept to turn into a demon and brace all its downsides. Do you consent?] Tyler stared calmly at the book as a smirk silently rose on his lips. "Yes!" Just that simple word was enough to change his fate for the better and stop the impending apocalypse from ever happening. Or was it? His fate will change, alright. But for the better? - I highly doubt that!

Not beautiful anymore

Initially, Tyler had planned to go through the academy, grow strong to stop his uncle from ruining his family, and build wealth with all the information he knew about the future and inventions so that his family would regain their lost empire.

He wasn't so focused on cultivation to the top. He would be satisfied as long as he could stop his uncle and become rich for his family. The apocalypse wasn't going to happen so there was no need to hungrily seek strength.

But now that he knew it would still happen either way and his wielding the Liber Infernus hadn't changed anything, what was the point of being rich when it would all end in 4 years?

What made him shudder even more was the fact that he was most likely to also aid in destroying the world!

-I have to grow stronger!!! Stronger than Daren!

-No, I have to make Daren stronger than he was before. So that if I fail at controlling my demon, Daren can end me. I don't want to be the one to kill humanity's only hope of survival.

-I cannot turn out like the Supreme Revivalist!

After pulling out of his shock, Tyler suddenly asked the flame entity, "So you're going to kill me now? So that I don't turn out like them..."

Although he did not want to die at this time, killing him now would be the easiest way to prevent at least one possible calamity before it happened. He was certain the flame entity was thinking about it.

The flame entity wasn't surprised by Tyler's sudden question, instead, he narrowed his eyes and struck his long white beard wisely, "Although it seems to be a wise action to kill you now before you grow into a menace, I won't do it.....now,"

Tyler was surprised.

"You still have a use.....Create those inventions. Fix Daren King's system. He is the one chosen to save humanity,"

The flame entity spread his arm wide and gripped the air where a fire staff began forming. He stumped his staff on the ground and a flame spec flew out of it and landed between Tyler's brows before dissolving into his skull.

"That there will kill you in a year after you let out your crazed demon even once. If you fail to control your demon in that one year, you will perish. If you do, you will live. Though the chances are extremely minimal, this is the least I can do for you... If you somehow manage to control the demon, you could very well be another trump card to aiding humanity. Therefore, I shall give you access to 6-star sword art...."

Tyler's eyes burned with excitement, not just because of the 6-star sword art, but also the flame spec that was meant to kill him. It meant no matter the outcome, the infernal architect wouldn't be a problem in the future. He would still try his best to control his demon. Ramiel told him he needed to have a mentality of rank A and above. And to achieve that, he just had to resist his urges more. He was determined to live, so controlling his demon was a must!

"Thank you esteemed entity!"

The flame entity ignored Tyler's thanks and proceeded with tapping his staff on the ground once more.

The golden flames on the torches all around developed into flame specs which all came together in front of Tyler. They built five platforms from the ground up and on those platforms lay an ancient book each.

"You may choose any one of them," After saying this, the flame entity began dissipating into golden flame specs that lingered in the air. Even then, his voice still sounded in Tyler's ear, "These are my parting words to you.....Never trust a fallen- Take caution. Guard your soul"

His voice sounded more and more like a whisper towards the end.

-Never trust a fallen? Guard my soul?

Tyler had an ominous feeling that the entity was speaking about Ramiel but he quickly dispelled his thoughts as his attention was drawn to the five sword arts in front of him.

Tyler gulped, looking at all the world-defying arts in front of him. He could feel a majestic aura emanating from them which gave him a sense of inferiority. Even being in their presence was suffocating.

"Is this w-hat a six-star sword manual feels like?!"

With slow careful steps, excitement gleaming in his eyes, Tyler approached the stands.

Of the five arts, only two of them had been revealed to the world in his previous life- the God-speed sword art which Edwin Cloud used, and the versatile redirect sword art that Daren used. He didn't know what the rest did. He wasn't ready to take his chances with unknown arts.

Although the Godspeed sword art was extremely eye-catching, Tyler had already made up his mind to take the Versatile Redirect Sword Art. Reason- the former couldn't be used on a heavy sword.

Without hesitation, he placed his hand on the versatile redirect sword art. Instantaneously, the ground began quacking and the other book pillars disappeared, leaving only the pillar of the art Tyler had chosen.

"Castiel!!!!!!!!" An enraged growl suddenly boomed inside Tyler's ears. It wasn't the flame entity's voice, but rather a different one. It was several times rougher and lower than the flame entity's voice. It shook Tyler's body with more fear compared to the earlier entity.

The voice was enshrouded with an overbearing anger and killing intent all directed at Tyler.

-Castiel?

It was the second time Tyler had been called by this name. The rage behind the voice wasn't fueled by the fact that he was a demon but because he was Castiel?!

The voices in his head had gone eerily quiet as if they were trying to hide their presence from the new entity that hadn't even appeared yet.

Suddenly, the dark world with flame torches warped, and Tyler found himself in a relatively peaceful and beautiful world, adorned with lush green grass and colorful flowers. The trees far in between bathed in the magnificent sunlight, shading faint shadows on the beautiful grass. The presence of hundreds of butterflies dancing about the flowers added to the world's brilliance. It made Tyler desire to stay forever!

"Castiel, you have come for my divine art, now prepare to face the trial of tribulation. Survive till the end to acquire this ancient one's art! I hope you die!" a calm deep voice sounded in the beautiful world, appearing to have no apparent direction of origin - it was everywhere. Although it sounded calm, Tyler could still sense the rage hidden within it.

-Trial of tribulation?!

Tyler was alarmed by the announcement that came out of nowhere.

Suddenly, a giant shadow covered him and a gust of wind blew from behind him. A putrid smell permeated his nose as a drop of green liquid fell on his face.

The drop prompted him to look up and what he saw was the most frightening thing!

A giant insect-like head was towering high above him salivating on top of him. Its giant razor-sharp mandibles rapidly pinched and snapped splashing its green saliva everywhere.

In the insect's multiple hexagonal red eyes, Tyler could see multiple reflections of himself!

"Sh*T!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Suddenly the beautiful world wasn't beautiful anymore!!!!!
