After reaching the market area it didn't take long for Knave to find the area under Manuel's control.

When he reached the shop he found out that the guy who had taken him to meet Manuel was the guy in charge of the sales.

The guy seeing Knave came to him and asked in a very respectful tone, "Young Master Knave, what can I do for you?"

"Oh! You are the guy from that day, what was your name again?" Knave asked.

"It's John, Master Knave" John replied, without showing any signs of discomfort on Knave not knowing his name.

"Okay John is Manuel around" Knave asked.

"No, Master has some other matters to attend to but if Master Knave wants I can take you to Master Manuel" John suggested.

"No! Let it be. I just had some herbs that I needed so I came." saying this he gave John a slip he ha already prepared

"If you have everything in the slip then give me a total of 24 sets of herbs for these and tell me how much it would cost," Knave asked.

John first went through the slip which contained a total of 8 herbs, but when he saw that they were the most common type he said, "Master Knave these are just ordinary herbs so we have them all. No problem with the quantity as well and as they are very cheap, to begin with, I don't need any payment for them as well"

"That won't do. I have to pay you something or I won't have the right to face Manuel, how about this I will deposit 1 spirit stone now and take the herbs and the extra amount left from the spirit stone will be kept with you. Next time I need new herbs just deduct it from that amount." Knave said.

Seeing the determined look on Knave's face John could only accept this. He was actually having a very positive outlook towards the new friend his Master friend.

As not only did he have an upright attitude towards others as he knew that even though he was Manuel's servant he didn't show or talk to him in a manner of disgust.

He was an orphan that Manuel's family had picked up and trained since young to look after Manuel's every need and to act as his lackey.

When he had awakened at the age of ten it was decided that he would follow Manuel to the Academy and act as his bodyguard he had been instructed the even if he had to die to keep Manuel safe he had to do it without hesitation.

From that day onwards he was always looked upon as a dead man so nobody really considered him as an equal and talked down to him but today he felt a little better.

"Okay, Master Kanve!! as you bid. But as the load of the herbs will be too much I will send a boy to help you carry it. I hope it's no problem" John said.

"Okay!" Knave agreed.

...

Knave was very relaxed and calm as he returned inside his abode. He needed to get started on making Shauna's medicine.

Making this sort of pain alleviating pill was not at all hard because with his past experience it was easy as it was a normal pill, not an alchemy pill.

Knave was busy until the late afternoon. By that time, he had enough medicine for Shauna to use for an entire year.

The reason why he didn't make any more was so that year after year, Shauna would have to come back, constantly reminded of her debt to Knave.

Once it turned evening, Knave suddenly slumped in a chair in the room in front of the door.

He raised his head, looked up into the pitch-black sky, and stared at the bright and shining moon.
