17. QUESTIONS

THIRD POV .

Riley took out the gun that was on her belt and took out the bullets . She had only four bullets all she could hope for was that she wouldn't have to use them.

The others were following her without much talk . She looked back to where they had packed their van and it was still there . She knew how people were all she wanted to do was go pick the guns and leave already .

She could see the building in front of her . The big letters on top of the building that months ago shimmered with lights were now dull and some letters were almost falling of .

COGNITO INC .

The building stood tall comparing to other buildings that were sorounding it . There were abandoned cars all over the road with bodies in them and she just hoped that none of them had thought of going weapon hunting .

"With all this people here we're gonna be lucky to find any guns ",said Aubrey as she walked father to reach Riley .

"They don't know where the weapons were kept so there might be some weapons ",Riley said without looking at her .

She was starting to question her idea . Maybe it was a bad idea to leave the camp and come weapon hunting .

From the look of things on the street it didn't seem that things were getting any better .

She heard a grunting and they all stopped suddenly . They all were praying that it was just one zombie and not a whole bunch .

There were two zombies who were rounding up the corner to where they were . Without thinking twice Aubrey raised her gun and shot one of them .

Riley turned to look at her and was wondering what was wrong with her .

"I said that we only shoot if necessary, this noise will draw them in . Not only did you create a problem for us but also you missed , shoot the fucking head for fucks sake ",Riley said as she moved closer to the zombie and drew a knife into their skull and did the same with the other .

Everytime Riley did something they were all left questioning what she had gone through all this while that she was alone .

Glen was not shocked though she had done the routine so many times before that it had become normal to her .

"Come on let's go before they swam here we don't know how many more they will be ",Glen said as she followed Riley to the opening of the building .

Riley tried pushing the door but it wouldn't budge . She walked towards the back she remembered when her sister had brought her there and they had left through the back door.

She pushed the door open and it opened without any struggle .

The whiff of air that hit their nose was so strong they all coughed as others wretched . It smelled as if thousands of bodies had been stuffed together and left to rot .

Riley took her torch from her bag and lit it as she entered the corridor she had used before

She knew where she was going and wanted to be done with it immediately.

They didn't know what else was in the building and they didn't want to stay long to find out .

The corridors were covered with bodies and walls completely covered in blood . From the look of things it seemed like there had been a shoot out in the place .

She reached the door that led to the basement and she pulled out her gun . She didn't know what she was going to find down there whatever it was she was going to be ready for it .

The stairs creeked with every step she took and she just hoped that there wasn't any zombie that was lying around waiting for their next meal .

She pushed the door but it seemed like something was stuck on the other side so she took out her silencer and shit the lock off .

It was pitch black in it but the moment she loomed at the room there was smile on her lips .

The basement was filled with armory . More than they could ever need .

She turned back to look at the other members and they all had the same reaction , relief . No matter what came she knew that they could be able to defend themselves .

"Pack everything you can I want us gone in ten minutes I don't want us to stay here longer than that ",Glen said as she aced her bag on the table and started packing the guns .

Some part of her had doubted Riley , she didn't know why . Probably it was the fact that she knew a place where guns were stashed and was sure no one would take them .

She loomed at Riley keenly as she took the guns of the walls and stuffed them in her bag . There was something about her that she couldn't quite point out .

She k ew all the facilities that had guns but she had never heard of this place . The most wierd thing was that some of the guns that wer win. the room didn't look like normal guns .

She took one of the guns and begun inspecting it , there was no way a gun like that was used to shoot people .

"Hey Riley what was this used for ?",she asked her as. she showed her the gun .

"I don't really don't know I just came here once I never asked what they used them for ",Riley said as she continued putting armour in her bag .

"Didn't you know what your sister did for work ?",Glen asked her .

"She was a doctor more of a scientist",Riley said .

She was getting tired of being asked questions. Why was Glen suddenly interested in what her sister did . She had given them the guns wasn't that enough ?

"This doesn't look like a hospital though ",Glen said chuckling .

" Why are you suddenly interested in the life of a person who for all we know is dead ? They had a club where they would go hunting on the weekends . If that doesn't answer your question just hope she is alive so that she can answer them ",Riley said as she started to look at Glen .

" Finish up we got to move ",she said as she closed her bag and took one shotgun and hung it across her shoulder .
