To be honest, this was the first time Su Yunjin had ever seen such a poor place!
She could hardly accept the reality that she had traveled through time!
Looking down at her frail and weak little body, Su Yunjin decided to not worry about anything else for now, and to focus on recovering her health first.
"Doctor, follow me! My wife is in that room."
Hearing voices outside the door, Su Yunjin subconsciously looked toward it. The door wasn't closed, and with one glance, she saw a limping man with a cane leading a man with a medicine chest into the house.
As the man led the doctor inside, he suddenly saw Su Yunjin sitting up in bed and was startled for a moment.
"Yunjin, are you awake?"
The man's voice was filled with surprise and disbelief, and his deep gaze was fixed intently on her, as if confirming that the image before him wasn't a hallucination.
Not only was the man surprised, but the doctor with the medicine chest was also astonished to see Su Yunjin awake. He turned to look at Gu Ya to ask him.
"Didn't you say your wife has been unconscious for two days?" Isn't this nonsense? The woman lying in bed is not only awake but has also sat up. This hardly looks like being unconscious; she's clearly been awake for a while!
The doctor questioned Gu Ya, who was equally puzzled. Gu Ya was just as shocked by Su Yunjin's sudden awakening!
Indeed, his wife had been unconscious for two days, and as to how Su Yunjin had suddenly woken up, Gu Ya wanted to know as well.
Yunjin?
Su Yunjin looked at the two strange men outside the door!
Who were they calling?
In the modern world, no one had ever called her Yunjin! She didn't immediately react to this unfamiliar address.
"Yunjin, you're awake? Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?"
After a brief pause, the man was the first to approach Su Yunjin. His dark eyes were visibly filled with concern. Su Yunjin, watching the man sit down beside her bed, finally understood that he was addressing her.
Su Yunjin sized up the man before her. If it weren't for the man's limp, he actually looked quite nice.
His eyebrows extended into his temples, his lips were thin, his nose was tall and straight, and he had particularly white teeth. Even though the man was dressed in coarse fabric, it couldn't hide his outstanding looks.
However, what a pity!
The man before her was a cripple.
Su Yunjin glanced at the man's lame legs.
The man, still immersed in his shock over Su Yunjin's awakening, had brought the doctor to attend to her.
"Doctor, quickly take a look at my wife and see how she's doing now?"
The doctor was pulled over by the man, who then casually handed him a worn round stool to sit on. The doctor looked Su Yunjin up and down and then sat down, an air of self-importance about him, saying to her, "Young lady, extend your hand; I need to take your pulse first!"
Su Yunjin did as instructed and extended her hand. The doctor placed his fingers on her pulse. Gu Ya asked nervously, "Doctor, how is she? My wife doesn't have any issues, right?"
The doctor didn't speak. After a moment, he switched hands to continue taking Su Yunjin's pulse. She assessed this self-important looking doctor before her, wondering if he was a quack.
After watching for so long, she had yet to see the doctor come up with any findings.
Su Yunjin debated this in her mind. Once the doctor had finished taking her pulse, he finally looked up, stroking his beard leisurely before addressing Su Yunjin and Gu Ya, "This young lady's pulse is steady, her breathing is normal, and there's nothing majorly wrong. It's just that her complexion is a bit pale. I will prescribe a couple of doses of medicine for the young lady to take. After consuming them for two or three days, she should be fine."
Su Yunjin had medical skills herself. In the modern era, she had been a graduate student at one of the top medical colleges in the country, and had even gone abroad for two years to earn her master's degree.
As for her own physical condition, Su Yunjin had a general understanding—indeed, there was nothing wrong with her body now.
