"INMATE 2140," a young female guard called with a strong voice, hitting her bat on the prison door.
Victoria crawled out from where she was fanning an older woman inside the prison. Her face was already covered with bruises, which she had sustained on the first day she arrived. The older inmates asked about her crimes, and when she told them, they joined hands and beat her until she almost passed out, eventually breaking her leg with an iron bar.
The prison guards had rescued her immediately, and she was taken to the infirmary but was brought back not long after. She wasn't assigned to another prison but remained in the same place where they continued to bully her every day.
"Who said you could move?" the older woman she was fanning asked with a mean look on her face.
Victoria scurried back to her position, picking up the paper she was using to fan the woman. "I'm sorry," she bowed.
