Chapter 3

*Thud*

Dexter was in shock to see that Dantalion just used the body of an ogre to block Erika's ultimate move but what surprised him more was the size of Dantalion he was double the size of a regular ogre and had two heads.

"Get into formation everyone" Theo yelled to the rest of the group, "Strength enhance, Speed enhance, Defence enhance" Erika started to buff the entire group.

Dantalion located the group in the midst of dead ogres and roared "DIE" his eyes shined bright red and fire started to erupt from both his mouths, a huge ball of fire was charging straight at them.

"ROCK FORTRESS"

*BOOM*

The huge ball of fire hit the structure but was still pushing through Nar's best defence magic, "It's going to come through" in a panicked state Nar raised his shield "Golems Stance" the outline of a golem could be seen around his body preparing to take on Dantalions attack.

"ARGH" Nar grunted in pain from the impact, "ICE WAVE" this caused the already weakened fireball to disappear.

"Thanks for the help Erika" Nar fell to the ground after taking the full force of the attack. Sofie started to heal "I'll need time to heal him" exclaimed Sofie as she saw the severe burns on him.

Dexter then rushed at Dantalion with Theo following his lead "We can let him fire another one of those or else were done for" Dexter nodding his head in agreement.

Arathel went up toward the trees and started to shoot at Dantalion making sure to limit his movement and giving Dexter and Theo opportunities to attack Dantalion.

"Wood Restraint" Erika restrained his feet and it that short time Adam went behind him and stabbed one of the head's eye.

"That's for Nar" but Adam was then hit with Dantalion full force causing him to go flying. "Fuck my arm is broken" As he tried to get up Adam heard a deafening roar, hundreds of ogres started to appear and were charging towards the group.

"I'll take care of the ogres you go and protect Sofie and Nar" Arathel yelled while pointing at Erika "What about Adam his arm is broken" Erika asked looking at him "I don't need both arms to take care of mere ogres" Adam wielding one dagger started to attack the ogres. Theo seeing the amount ogres went to help the rest while leaving Dexter to fight Dantalion alone.

"Dexter you'll have to fight this brute alone I have to to help the rest" Theo said while looking at the increasing number of ogres, "Don't worry I can do this solo" Dexter confidently answered.

"Foolish Hero you think you can defeat me alone" Dantalion roared. At full speed he starts to charge at Dexter.

Dexter barely dodging the attack gets behind Dantalion points both hand towards Dantalion and screams "Divine Cannon" a bright flash could be seen hitting Dantalion back and sending him flying taking this chance he uses flash step to get behind and brings down his sword and cuts one of Dantalion heads off.

"This is your end" Dexter bringing his sword down sees Dantalion arm coming at him and having no time to doge prepares to block but to his surprise he is sent flying only stopping when hitting a tree.

Dexter trying to get up begins to coughing up blood "That bastard broke my ribs". Picking up his sword he begins to go towards Dantalion to finish him off. But to his surprise Dantalion appearance change his once green skin was now blood red and his physique was bulkier.

"Did he go into berserk mode?" Dexter wondered.

Dantalion now only making animalistic grunts and roars began to attack everything indiscriminately. Dexter seeing an opportunity began to use flash step to get behind Dantalion and use divine cannon again but this time Dantalion noticed him and sent a ball of fire from his mouth. "It burns" Not being able to dodge Dantalion attack Dexters whole right arm was burned.

Dexter realizing that surprise attacks would no longer work began a series of frontal attack. "he's finally slowing down but i'm running low on mana I have to finish this soon" Dexter coming up with a plan rushed forward and began to trade blows with Dantalion, seeing an opportunity Dexter used flash to temporarily blind Dantalion and dug his sword into Dantalion foot.

Dexter then started to chant and behind Dantalion back you could see dozens of arrows made completely of light being formed. Sensing something behind him Dantalion tried to escape but was stopped by Dexter holding onto him "You're not going anywhere" trying to get Dexter off him he raised both his hands and brought it down at full force.

Seeing this Dexter put his arms above his head to block it but even using magic to strengthen both his arms you could hear a crack both his hands were broken. Barely standing up straight Dexter whispered "Rain down Divine Arrows" the dozens of arrows then began to pierce at Dantalion.

Dexter pulling out his sword could see Dantalion fall down to his knees still trying to hold on. "You sure are one tough bastard still not giving up until the end" Dexter bringing his sword up to kill Dantalion could hear Dantalion mumble something under his breath.

"You can talk? I thought you lost your intelligence going berserk like that" asked Dexter

Using his last bit of strength Dantalion shouted "DON'T GET COCKY YOU MAY HAVE WON AGAINST ME BUT YOU WILL NOT STAND A CHANCE AGAINST THE DEMON KING YOU ARE NOTHING BUT A PUPPET OF-".

Before Dantalion could finish his last sentence Dexter cut off his head "You sure do talk a lot for someone who lost".

Falling to the ground from exhaustion Dexter couldn't even move a finger "My whole body is in pain it wouldn't hurt if I took a little rest" and with that Dexter went to sleep laying on the ground and the battle with Dantalion was over.

"Where am I?" Dexter was confused he wasn't on the ground anymore he tried to get up and saw his body was covered in bandages.

"I wouldn't get up if I was you" Dexter looked over to see who it was "Sofie you're here"

"I healed most of your internal injuries and broken bones but you'll still need to rest to fully recover" Dexter was happy to see that Sofie was safe but was still concerned about the others "What about the rest of the group are they ok" before Sofie could answer the door opened.

The rest of the group walked into the room "Dexter you're awake" Erika hugged Dexter out of excitement "If it was any other day I would hug you back but my body hurts" Erika immediately let go of Dexter and became red from embarrassment"

"Are you guys okay?" Dexter asked the group "Don't worry all I got was a broken arm and a few scratches" Adam trying to ease Dexter Concern "Fine I'll stop worrying but where is Nar"

"He's in the training ground right now" Theo answered "Why isn't he resting wasn't his body in severe burns" Dexter asked

"Nar is frustrated from the fight he thinks he was useless against Dantalion" said Arathel

"I know how he feels" Arathel looked at Dexter in confusion "But you won against Dantalion" Dexter looked at everyone with a serious expression "But look at the state I'm in I can barely move my hand I need to get stronger If I want to defeat the demon king and save this world"

"I believe in you Dexter but please don't think you need to do this alone" Sofie stared at Dexter with a teary eyes.

"I'm sorry if I worried you Sofie but your right I have you guys to fight alongside me but I promise that I'll become strong enough to protect everyone" Dexter made a promise to himself that day that he would do everything in his power to protect the people he cared about and this world.
