Louise was oblivious to all of these. As she was sleeping again.

She didn't want to sleep initially but the man managed to put her to sleep.

He asked someone from the manor to guard Louise through the night and he came back to the house.

He went to the room where he detained Lucia.

When the room opened, it scared Lucia so much that she started tearing up.

Augustus walked towards a small stool and sat.  His presence caused Lucia to panick more.

After a short while, Lucia couldn't help but ask.

"What do you want?"

The man didn't answer but he spared her a glance. His posture was lazy as he was leaning against the wall. His long legs were stretched out and hands on his pockets.

"Why?" The man had a one word question for her but the woman understood it.

Why did she do it?

Why did she betray Louise?

Why?

Her betrayal could cause immense damage to a fragile Louise.

She could've told him about it but she chose to betray them.

"Why? Haven't you seen my phone? That was my parents! They have been living so well before all of these! They were my limits! But they were harmed because of me!" She became hysterical.

Her tears kept gushing out from her eyes when she remembered how helpless and hopeless her parents have been.

Augustus became silent. Lucia was the one who saved him. If she wasn't there, Louise might not be alive until now.

Lucia was a collateral damage of this power fight.

So, he didn't have the right to question her as to why she chose to betray her.

"When did she contact you?" He asked.

Lucia was crying but she understand that at this point, she had to save her parents.

"She was using a random number everytime she contacted me. I ignored her messages at first as I thought it was just a spam. But... Yesterday, she texted me some thing like that but I also ignored it. But she sent me a voice message last night. She said... She had my parents with her and ... If I will not cooperate with her, my parents... My parents will die." She finally told him then broke to tears once more.

Augustus didn't ask any questions after that. She began to get agitated when she thought of her parents. She kneeled in front of Augustus and begged him.

"Can you save them? Please save them. They were the only one I got..."

"I will but this will be my repayment of saving me that night. From here on, I can't guarantee your safety anymore. You can see her for the last time but if you say any nonsense, then I won't hold back."

It was the first time Augustus gave such lengthy speech. He was a man with golden words.

"I will see her and bid goodbye..." She said and nodded as she tried to contain her emotions.

"That would be the best."Augustus walked outside the room.

Hugo was anxiously waiting for him.

"What is it?" He asked as walked down the stairs.

"Old Master called. He wanted you to attend tonight's ball.."

Augustus sneered of this news.

"Tell him I'm busy."
