Mental breakdown

The whole night Shikar was busy treating Mega whereas Arik was in Ridi city.

Next day early morning,

A sound of heart wrenching cry, woke Shikhar. He had been operating Mega for hours and didn't had enough rest. Hearing the cry, he immediately entered a ward.

Inside two people were holding Mega and suppressing her movement.

"My child…my baby…baby…" she was repeating the same thing over and over.

One hand in the stomach and another in the bed arm, she was trying to stand.

Shikhar immediately ran towards her, "Hey, hey Mega, don't move and lie down. You had an operation just now. If you move the stitch may rupture and the place may get infected–"

"Operation?? Di..d…Did you remove my child..did you…child…how can my baby be so unlucky…my child couldn't meet his father too… My baby…"Mega began to mutter on her own. Her movements were stopped but she was in the process of mental breakdown.

Signalling both people to retire from the room, Shikhar spoke,"Mega, calm down. Don't panic. Your child isn't removed. We tried our best to save the baby and it succeeded. Your baby is still there." Pointing to the belly, he softly spoke.

"WHAT?? Are you saying for real–" Mega tried to sit.

"Hey, do you want to end the life of your child? Your movement will impact the baby. Lay down and don't move recklessly." The voice was loud and much harsher.

Hearing it, Mega stopped and stayed back.

"Are you really telling the truth? Is my child still here? What about the blood?" Being a bit scared she asked slowly.

"The blood was early sign of abortion but luckily you met an expert doctor like me. Don't worry, the child is still in your belly." The tone was much softer than before.

"Thank you."

Shikhar was conflicted whether to interrogate her at the moment or let her rest. They didn't have much time to waste as who knows what will happen the next moment. The unusual movements in Grasal City were increasing rapidly.

Despite being a doctor and medical maniac, he was well informed of the condition of Grasal City. He knew Arik won't stay silent for a long time.

"Mega, you are far from Ridi City. Would you like to go back to your family?

"No...not for now." She replied in a shaky voice.

"A lot of things happened but none reached you. If you don't mind, can I ask who is the father of the child?" Shikhar's eyes were on Mega's every single moment and expression.

Hearing the question Mega's eyes widened and the color of her face began to fade. It was as if she heard something terrific or the question reminded her of a nightmare. Her lips began quivering, eyes turned misty. It didn't look as if she was faking.

She didn't speak, her heart rate began to fluctuate and her breath turned erratic.

Oh god!! She was having a panic attack.

Shikar turned worried and began to rub her hands. "Calm down Mega…remember you are pregnant. You will hurt your child if you panic. I only asked because I wondered if I could help you." Shikhar felt wrong as the question wasn't at an appropriate time.

Hearing pregnant, her condition improved a little. After a brief moment of silence Mega opened her mouth, "Can…can you help me?...I don't believe whatever they say…I know he must be fine…he won't leave us alone…Yeah, he must be alive…Neil must be alive…"exhaustion came all over and Mega slowly began to feel sleepy. It was good as she fell asleep and that will help her to calm down.

'Neil…is she really pregnant with Brother Neil's child?' The question remained on Shikhar's mind.

He left the ward, walked to a corner, opened a secret compartment and entered. Neil was lying on the bed comatose.

"Bro, is that child really yours? You are more fast forward than me..." Shikhar whispered each and every thing that happened to Mega.

"Bro…she is very vulnerable at this time. What should I do?...lemme think and decide instead of you. Don't worry your both brothers won't let her suffer. Wake up soon, bro." Shikar walked out of his clinic and entered the living room.

Arik was leaning on the sofa and closed his eyes. Hearing the sound of footsteps, he opened his eyes.

"Brother, is she good? Did the fetus survive?" the voice was mixed with worry.

"It was difficult but I somehow managed to save the fetus, the remaining is left to the mother. If Mega will be fine then the child will also be fine but her situation isn't good. So, I can't say if the fetus will survive or not." Shikhar sighed and took a seat.

"Umm…I had also expected that. I have arrived just now. I did some investigation and it seems she is pregnant with Big Brother's child." Arik spoke.

"Yeah, I think the same too. She woke up an hour earlier and I had some conversation with her. She doesn't want to return back to Ridi for now. When I asked about the child's father, she was terrified. The news of the accident must have reached her too." Shikar leaned on the sofa and closed his eyes. He was tired.

"Bro, will it be good if we say Big Brother's actual situation to her?"

"I don't know. It's both good and bad, depending on her mental condition." Shikhar replied in a soft tone. He wasn't confident enough to share the news to Mega.

Both didn't talk much and decided to rest.

Around afternoon,

Both brothers walked towards Mega's ward. Someone informed that she had woken up. Seeing the unfamiliar faces she turned wary and didn't let anyone touch her.

Entering the room Arik stood near the bed while Shikhar seated. The other people were chased out.

"Mega, don't be afraid. We will never hurt you." Shikhar could change his angel and demon mode at the same time.

"I don't believe…why will you save me…I don't believe…you all tried to kill my child as his father is no more. Did you hear me…I don't believe…" Her situation turned more serious than before.

Did she had a bad dream or something stimulated her?
