Chapter 15
“Ready?” he asked, coming into the kitchen where Gideon was putting the cups into the dishwasher.
Gideon nodded. “Where are we going?”
“A nice vegan restaurant, or so I’ve been told.”
“You’re vegan?”
Edan snorted. “Nope, but I’m presuming you are, since you’re an elf.”
“Half; and I eat anything that doesn’t try to eat me back.”
“Great.” Edan put his hand at the small of Gideon’s back, steering him toward the entryway and the elevator. “In that case we’re going to my favorite restaurant.”

The restaurant was a short walk from Edan’s condo, in a building that was all glass and steel—the antithesis of Edan’s. “It was erected about ten years ago,” Edan explained when Gideon commented that it was a monstrosity in his opinion. “During the downtown’s most recent renaissance. I consider myself lucky that my building has managed to avoid that, so far.”
“Outside,” Gideon replied. “Inside, it could have been built when this was.”
