Season 1 Chapter 9: A Mission to Prestige Part 2

(Night Shift --- Front Main Gate)

The Village Head Guard gave everyone night vision potions that was created from their alchemy and potion makers of the village, though it only last per 4hrs the bottle it was perfect for when monsters or wild animals will try to raid or attack the small village. It was chilling cold, not because its nighttime, its because the small village is near the Misty Forest.

(Status Notification)

Warning: Due to Misty Forest leaking out Cold Auras. Anyone on the Misty Forest Stats will decrease by 20%. Anyone who is outside but on the radius of the Cold Auras Leaking Out will receive decrease stats by 5%-10%.

Accel: "What the... Head Guard Sir James. Is this always happens the Cold Auras and their stats decrease?"

Head Guard James: "Yes, this only happens at night. That is why our alchemy and potion maker makes potion to give temporarily resistance against them. Here you go, the potion. (Give the potion to Accel)"

Accel: "Thanks, Sir James."

Head Guard James: "Careful Accel, soon the monsters will appear somewhere midnight. (Walks Away)"

Accel Thoughts: "This is weird, how come a small village is in a danger level and the people here are so calm... Wait... Hmm... Nevermind... Let's just concentrate what's now."

(Somewhere at Midnight)

Accel's Thoughts: "Hmm... There is no sight of monsters... Okay, my nighttime shift is over. I think I will head over to bed now... Hmm... Wait... I sense something going here...

(Few Minutes Later)

Accel's Thoughts: "What the hell is going! Is that a Mutated Tiger!! That is a B-Rank Wild Animal!"

Accel headed to the nearby bell and bang it hard multiple times meaning "Enemy". After that, the guards who were stationed nearby and rested at there dorms inside the tower gates rush over to see what's going on.

Upon the arrival, they were shocked that one of the wild animals that was supposedly be killed was able to escape from the High-Rank Players. Though the Mutated Tiger is heavily wounded. It's still impossible for the Guards and Accel to overcome this situation.

The Village Guards who were leveled between 35 to 50 and the Head Village Guard who is level 75 was ready to fight as if it was the last defense that mustn't be destroyed by there enemies. I was confused at first and realize that this small village was not just an ordinary village but one of the last line of defense of the Misty Forest.

It's just that this small village concentrates more in support by giving potions and temporarily buff from other gates. This small village is the Northern Defense Wall, one of the weakest defense but when comes to supporting the other Southern, Eastern, and Western Gates its strong.

When comes to dangerous places like similar with the Misty Forest and those other places. Humanity builds this kind of protection, though every 10km they also build post to keep in touch with the Wall will be breach especially that "Stampede Incident" happened 10 years ago.

It was somewhere in the Pacific that a large gate break happened and there were swarming of S-Ranks and SS-Ranks of Monsters and Unknown Entity appearing by thousands of them. Luckily, there were SS-Rank Players who were stationed nearby, but we will never know another tragic events will happened in the near future.

The current troops stationed at this small village are only 100, plus 1 including the Village Head of the Guards. They were only 25 Apprentice Swordsman, 50 Swordsman (Full-Fledged), and 25 Mages (Full-Fledged). According to Sir James, all of the are considered E-Rank while Sir James is D-Rank.

I am also considered as E-Rank, when I received a notification from the National Association that I recently promoted my player card.

Head Guard James: "Accel, we must hold the ground. I received reports from the Village Chief... I mean the Chief of the Northern Fortress that he request immediate reinforcements on this location. All we have to do is to prevent the mutated tiger in breaching the wall."

Accel: "Huh? What do you mean? Isn't the mutated tiger heavily wounded?"

Head Guard James: "Mutated Type Monsters or Wild Animals have an ability to regenerate there HP by 1% per minute. And one more thing, I am not Head Guard but the Fortress Head Guard. I apologize about our identity, usually we hide this when the test given by the representatives."

Accel: "I see, so this test is already common?"

Fortress Head Guard James: "That is correct, but right now. This is very uncommon for a mutated tiger to reach here..."

Mutated Tiger: Rawr!!! (Roars Loudly)

Fortress Guard A: "Fortress Head! The Mutated Tiger has called his forces! We need to start defending now!"

Fortress Head Guard James: "Okay, Accel. Good luck and do not die, you are still young!"

The goal of this is to hold the ground until reinforcements will arrived at the Northern Fortress, according to Sir James there arrival will be in few hours, the reason was the teleportation circle is currently disable due to malfunction or something. Mages started casted there attack spells like Fire Ball, Water Shot, Stone Shot, Wind Blade, and many types of Common Tier Skills blasted towards the mutated tiger minions.

While the Apprentice Swordsman's and the Swordsman's went out the gate and become the shield protecting the gate. The Gate is not made of full iron door, but a huge and heavy wood material that can withstand lower than C-Rank Monsters. The formation was A, B, and C.

Formation A and C will be the Apprentice Swordsman's that will guard the sides if one of the minions of the mutated tiger will manage to pass through the barrages of spells from the mages above the tower. While Formation B will try to slow down the mutated tiger coming near the gate.

It was a hard and intense battle, especially for Accel. He is just a 12 year old boy, but wants to do this for the sake of his goal that he wanted to achieve for his future...

(Few Hours Later)

Everyone was exhausted and there will heavily wounded and few causalities, basically "deaths". There only few Swordsman's who still are active but tired together with Sir James. All the Mages have depleted all there mana, but was able to deal all the mutated tiger's minions.

With that, I use all my current skills together with the Swordsman's and Sir James. But, it was not enough. All of us were defeated, I was hit in a direct hit on the chest. I was coughing blood and was unable to move.

(Status Notification Warning: Player's Health has now decreased to 25%. Recommend to Retreat Immediately!)

(Status Notification Warning: Due to Player's Ribs and Chest Damage from the Mutated Tiger Direct Attack you are unable to move!)

The Mutated Tiger when towards me to end me. But, was stop. Because finally the reinforcements have arrived, because of that I fainted due to blood loss. I do not remember what happened next but it was very unfortunate that I was not able to join the "Friendly Tournament".

The reason was because I slept on the hospital for a month and was discharge after a week. My body was weak and was recovering, what I did was to watch my friends, Welt and Raizah do the tournament.

(1 Month and a Half Later)

The results for the Grade 7 was unexpected. Welt manage to become TOP 50, while Raizah was TOP 25. As for me, I was just a spectator. Though I did already receive my rewards and promotion. According to the Sir Jonathan the Representative of a certain Household. He will soon give me an update who will I serve for the entire year.

I was hoping it not an NMA student. Because I don't anyone to know what I am doing...
